I'm currently using this website to recover 2 of my class credits. I'm behind on it because it takes forever to get through a chunk of the small videos. Why not just make them all one video and move on. Or even better, make an alternative to the videos and make a power point to be used in stead. Some students learn better with reading then videos. This is good for people who like to take it slow but for those who just want to get over the assignments should be allowed to get through it faster. I'm several days behind because the lessons I'm given take so long to get through with. >:(
(My school bought the ability to use this website not me)
One of my students had an issue with a test that he finished (and passed). However he was not given credit for the test. I contacted Edgenuity. They got back to me soon after. Based on Edgenuity's response the problem had to do with the students computer loosing power.
Our students are using Edgenuity as an at home learning platform. I've had issues with the program and the only resolution is to bypass the assignment or instruction because I cannot get on the phone with support live while the student is working. It is near impossible to get good customer service that helps students when I'm at school, they're at home, and customer support is a 24 hour email away.
I took my son out his local school where he was doing online classes because all but one of his course was through Edgenuity. It is a horrible program. There is no real learning opportunities. You listen to awful lectures that are not engaging in any way. There is no way to see what you did wrong, not attempt tp help you learn concepts you were having problems with, no way to talk to a real person to supplement what the reading and pre-recorded lectures said, no way to contact anyone with questions... I can't believe that schools are paying millions of dollars for this garbage program. I can't believe that this program is used for ‘credit recovery'.
Esteban provided excellent assistance in guiding me through the steps for "Turn on Free Movement" with my ELA courses. After my initial call, Esteban remained available for my subsequent email questions, and responded in a timely, professional manner. His help was invaluable.
Edgenuity staff are great about getting back to teachers in a timely and thorough manner. As a math teacher at a small school where I teach many subjects I really appreciate the feedback when I have questions. Many Edgenuity questions are multi-step questions requiring critical thinking and analysis to answer. If I miss a perspective or content piece, the staff is there for me. And if I happen to find an error in a question, they work with me and correct it immediately. They are a great collaborative team!
Virtual and hybrid learning uses a whole different set of skills for teachers to create relationships with students for successful learning, and students are asked to step up with personal responsibility and time management, but Edgenuity is a great platform for delivering the basic content in a consistent manner so as teachers we can focus on individual student needs.
The team was very helpful and were fast in responding! They walked me through the steps of fixing the issue and were very persistent in making sure everything was working again. Edgenuity froze in my Science class so I couldn't continue working on it. It is working now and I haven't had issues since! Overall, Edgenuity is a great website for online school and I really like how it's formatted!
As a teacher, I am horrified by the complete lack of coherent instruction. The fact that the system locks when a student has successfully passed a test (and not with a suspicious score of 100% but a realistic score of 70-80%) is mind blowing. This is setting our students up for failure and discouraging them by setting the precedent that if they work hard and pass, they will be punished.
This is the worst online learning platform used today. We student's are not learning anything from it so much as just waisting our class time staring at a screen. This site should honestly be taken down and teachers put back in our classrooms.
Edgenuity markets its platform as an "engaging challenge for students" or something generic like that. It's not even close. The courses are all outdated, hardly updated, and incredibly boring and formulaic. It is not even close to being engaging or fun in any aspect, and the quizzes, assignments, and tests are incredibly misleading, intentionally difficult, and often ask for answers to questions that seem irrelevant. I've had more fun watching paint dry than using this platform. Parents, educators, or even school administrators, please do not use this as a way to educate. It may pass under your state for quality education, but there are far better alternatives such as iReady or IXL. Both take their time teaching in a way that makes sense.
My experience working with Edgenuity staff has been nothing less than pleasant. I rarely have issues using this platform and when I do, once I reach out to the staff, they reply promptly. They are helpful and always resolve the issues I have. Give them a try and you'll find you've made a good decision! :)
My heart literally hurts watching what my 10th grader has had to deal with using Edgenuity. Unfortunately for my son the Queen Creek School District chose to outsource the online option to Edgenuity and it's been terrible in so many ways. The mind-numbing power points with zero interaction are a horrible way to try to learn. There have been several assignments that just don't make any sense. He was asked to complete a lab as well as discuss with his peers. Obviously, neither were possible and it's just so weird and confusing to be asked to do impossible assignments. He is currently taking a course that requires a textbook. Yet, no advance notice or communication was given and we are not able to get the book. If I could give it zero stars I would
Coby helped me see how to find these files and a few search tricks as well! I love the call back feature so that you do not stay waiting on hold. Customer service with Edgenuity has been excellent! Our school has used Edgenuity as our learning management system for 4 years now. I add very little additional lessons and activities since most of the material provides a variety of assessments, methods of checking for understanding and revisions. However, a teacher MUST review all content that is scored by A. I. of course.
The man in algebra 1 looks like a offbrand one punch man that let go early on and decided to become a school teacher he then took some magic Indian speech classes that make his voice smooth as butter for 399 a year
This is the program our school uses for online learning (if you choose to not do in person learning) during the pandemic. It has been horrible. Too many glitches. I tried to call the company and left a message and they never called back. The recording said they were having a high call volume. I can see why! Also, this program was causing my son to fail every class. There was so much work given and we could never keep up. He said the videos were boring and he felt like he wasn't learning anything. I can verify this because his quiz scores were usually around 30% correct. Then if that's not bad enough it lost work we did. All of this happened to a friend of ours as well. The kids got so much anxiety from this that they are now back in school and we will never use this platform again.
Me and my friends have to use this everyday and it absolutely sucks. Every day we have to complete 1 and a half hours of work when we only have an hour. Maybe if it wasn't so focused on making a quick buck it would be better. Worst learning platform I've encountered on my thirteen years of living on this planet. The typos and incorrect subject matter is ridiculous. We have to use this for our accelerated math program and I am genuinely considering dropping out even though I'd likely just be bored to death in seventh-grade math. But at this point, it feels like I have no choice because of the ridiculous workload, horrible instruction content, and incompetent teachers.
Keep in mind that I'm a student in Algebra 2 using this. Edgenuity is simply bad. The lessons are repetitive, and I rarely learn anything from it as it's basically just memorizing stuff. The website itself is outdated and has a lot of issues. ( like the graphing calculator not opening and holding me back because it won't open) The videos explain too much of the obvious and don't really tell you how to do what they're trying to get you to learn. Edgenuity is bad, teachers, students, and parents my school hate it, and there's much better alternatives out there.
Edgenuity stands out among other online learning programs in its responsiveness to helpdesk requests, either technical or academic assistance. This response time helps students feel like their questions and frustrations are valid.
For a recent technical request, I had an email troubleshooting checklist in my inbox within three minutes of making the request.
For a recent student-submitted question about the validity of a test question, my request received an automatic reply, but within a week a real person had read over the question and affirmed that the question needed to be corrected. That made our day to be heard, in addition to being right! Sometimes that personal connection to learning can be lost in these big systems, but it doesn't need to be.
This program is one of the most poorly managed I've ever seen. The guided notes they give you do a terrible job of keeping the information on hand for exams/quizzes, and the quizzes themselves can be very buggy at times. The instructions that follow the guided notes don't give the students enough practice with different parts of a subject, they usually give the student one multiple choice question about the topic, and then teach them something else. Yet, despite the varying quality of the assignments, they expect students to do five to ten of these things per day. That upload rate is much too frequent, even for a high school student.
Final Verdict: Stay far away from this. You're better off using a program like Khan Academy that is easier to understand and actually teaches information properly, and is free.
I have NEVER given a one star review to any service, but this program is awful! The quizzes are the only assessments given, the videos are inconsistent, the material used in severely outdated and its overall a horrible platform. I'm deeply sad that this is the only option for my son right now.
