As leaving a zero star review is not an option I'll leave 1 star.
There is ZERO communication. ZERO.
There is a laissez-faire attitude about supplies ("Well you know what your student needs.")
There is a drastic lack of structure with the hope that your student will know what they need to do. But the "good news" is that my student gets to have 2,10 minute meetings with a staff member who will provide a report card of sorts, not if communication thus far has been any indication.
Such a disappointment after such a great learning experience in my school district last year.
I was watching my son on his assignment yesterday. Who has autism and an IEP.
I was furious when I watch his history class teaching about KKK and white supremacy. Kids do not need to learn about crap. Then the are calling republicans radical. This is teaching kids hate. This must be stopped.
I wouldn't teach this program to my dog, let alone a child. My daughter's school placed me in this program and it's an absolute disgrace! I spent 8 hours trying to submit a mp3 recording of my child reading. This program is not suitable for a child with an IEP education plan. My child suffered more meltdowns than I ever seen with her autism and sensory. She never hardly has a meltdown, up till I was placed in online classes. Never again! Parents of special needs children beware!
Not only is it an absolutely unpolished, barebones, mess of a program. It doesn´t even work half the time. So you don´t even get stability for trading convenience. I´m a student using the program full time and it´s unfit for this purpose especially. It´s uninteresting, irritating, full of bumps, and a serious downgrade from the oddesseyware program. I would not recommend this for any educational use I can think of. Credit recovery, alternative learning, homeschooling, trying to teach a dog to read, nothing it´s useless. Granted it´d make a fine rage game.
My teacher uses this app and it so easy to get behind because of the amount of work you have to get done at a certain time. I always get behind because of the 19 assignments in each subsection and sometimes you have to do 2 or 3 in a day with the non skippable videos. It's also boring lol. I see everyone else saying the same things in the reviews so idk why my school is still using it.
My daughter is in grade 7 and using Edgenuity. She has used Edgenuity for over a year. She has excelled with Edgenuity. HOWEVER, I have to spend hours tutoring and mentoring her. I believe that there are subject matter gaps. I add my own knowledge and provide more examples. My daughter finds the lessons boring, because it's always the same routine of warmup, instruction, summary, assignment, and quiz. So, I usually see what is gong to be taught with the guided notes, find other material (especially try to find books that her peers are using), and look for other online lectures. Edgenuity is a good starting point, but I would suggest not to expect it to be the ONLY tool for your kid's online learning. You'll be disappointed if you only use Edgenuity.
Their customer service representatives do the best that they can. But, every customer service rep that I've spoken to, has been difficult to understand.
Straight trash too much assignments too much glitches everything is useless the videos are useless as they act like your a one year old that don't understand simple words and there grading is trash same with the test there answers aren't even correct and they make fake reviews to keep their site up
This site has been the worst site for teaching students because it makes them not retain any information the same way the teachers show them in the classroom causing them to get really frusterated.
The customer service reps are always helpful whenever I've had an issue with the platform...! Thank you! :)
Basic Q and A:
Q: Should I enroll myself/my child to Edgenuity?
A: No. If you will, you'll soon realize that you're signing your soul along with it.
Q: Why is it so bad?
A: Read reviews, starting with this one.
Q: I'm a Edgenuity student. What is the money you win for?
A: Nothing but buying back your soul after the class.

This program sucks. Plain and Simple. I'm a Spanish 2 student and I really hate it. It was so bad my teacher quit teaching us. You need to understand that students hate the edgenuity, not the instructors. I never had a worse class. Falling behind is super easy and there is no way you feel like catching up when it says you have 300 missing assignments and it'll take 45 hours to complete. Even though the suggested time to complete is not true, it will take you literally four to seven INTENSE days to catch up, ONLY focusing on one class at a time.
Edgenuity deserves 0 stars. Or better yet, negative 5 stars.
And by the way, this program looks like it is from the early 2000's. It is literally a crappy game-ish style program produced in 2001. Its complete and utter Garbage. It does not belong in 2020. Absolute trash. I know my review might not seem credible, but I have no other words to describe Edgenuity.
In edgenuity you recieve money when doing assignments. It is somewhat relevant to my point. You earn money, but guess where it goes? Nowhere! You can't see how much you have and you can't spend it. I heard it is something they used to use in the past to make an avatar or something, and it goes to show how trash of a program it is not to fix this. What I'm saying is, the programmers are too lazy to get rid of earning meaningless credits.
I regret taking Spanish 2 on Edgenuity this year.
Avoid it at all costs. I'd suggest you drop the class while you can.
Heed my words, parents and students!
Are you currently enrolled in a Edgenuity class? Three words: Pity, Pity, Pity! If you're falling behind (and I'm sure you are), Brainly is your best friend. It's actually more like your friend that gives you all the answers on the test (cough, cough). Did I mention how easy it is to cheat? Fair for me since Edgenuity is cheating my school out of its money. Current Students: PRAY and sit all day on your computer to catch up if you're willing to do so.
Brett did all he could do to help me help a student. He emailed me the instructions so that I could forward them to my student. I appreciate his help.
One of my students had an issue with a test that he finished (and passed). However he was not given credit for the test. I contacted Edgenuity. They got back to me soon after. Based on Edgenuity's response the problem had to do with the students computer loosing power.
Our school district used Edgenuity as a replacement for in person Global Studies this year. My son has always been a straight A student and has all A's in his "in person" classes. He has been frustrated with the content of the Global Studies class all year long. After hearing his frustration for three months I told him it could not be as bad as he described. I agreed to sit with him through a set of videos. After reviewing the videos I watched him take the ten question quiz at the end. I was shocked at how little the content of the videos helped to take the quiz. Many of the questions asked had little to nothing to do with the video content. The video presenters were not very clear and went way too fast in covering the content requiring a "stop and go" format to take notes. After taking the quiz three times he finally mustered a 70. I contacted several teachers with my concerns. Most who had observed the content agreed it was put together poorly and was far too difficult for the grade level. If you are considering this form of curriculum I would advise you make sure the teachers themselves review the content of these classes and actually take some of the quizzes. I would be surprised if a lot of teachers that took this class did not have issues making a decent grade themselves.
I have reached out to customer service several times for assistance on a few different issues. I am always asked for account information for the student having the problem. I understand that may be needed sometimes, but when my initial inquiry was asking for more information about something that stated in a recent webinar to be available and I have been unable to find it. It has nothing to do with a specific student account. It has nothing to do with a specific class, and yet they asked for user affected account information.
Their response was for me to reach out to the individual in the webinar... It was literally held by this company, and their website. I asked where to find the worksheets available for needed additional review. Why can their own customer service not help me with this? Absolutely ridiculous.
I had a question about a virtual lab not being there for Biology.
They responded in a week which was I thought good timing, since they have a lot of students.
I called Edgenuity's support center in hopes of resolving a problem a student of mine was having with an Edgenuity class. Specifically, the student could not adequately hear or understand the videos associated with assignments. To wit, the video sound was distorted and low in volume. Upon calling the service center, I opted to have a call-back because of the high caller volume. I received the callback within a mere 5 minutes and had the problem resolved in another, short 5 minutes. The representative I spoke with was very courteous and professional.
We had an issues within the program with broking links within the program where students could not access the needed curriculum to complete their work. The last issue took nine days to resolve or get a response from Edgenuity. This is unacceptable for students and teachers who are working on deadlines. Another issue we had with broken links or a program issue that would not allow students to advance did not get a finalized response of having the issue fixed. When dealing with curriculum and pacing for student education, time is a valuable commodity and any delays that take over 48 hours is a failure to the students and educational program that is being served.
This type of software is ruining education. Face to face interaction with students is so important. We knew that before this so called pandemic. Now we know it even more. Students don't even watch the videos. They wait until the tests and copy them into Google, Brainly, or whatever else they can use. As someone who has created software myself, I know how to get by this, but these places don't ask real teachers. They assume that what they are doing is working. But it isn't. Want to know how to fix it, you can write me at *******@glennbates.com and ask. There are several ways to do it. And you aren't doing them.
I don't think my concern was addressed well. I feel like Edgenuity didn't own the problem and instead placed the problem on the backs of the students. My concern is primarily about equity and I think Edgenuity should own the problem by finding a way to deliver content that is accessible to all students. My students in general have a hard time with the Performance Tasks format... which is missing key information/photos that they need to complete the task. When over half of my students can't download the content without it missing information, that becomes an equity issue. If they were in PDFs or something that all computers recognized that would be so helpful. However, Edgenuity just said that they could see all the content on their end and so that the problem is with how students are accessing it and gave detailed instructions (that middle schoolers would have a hard time following) on how to update software/computers/etc. I strongly believe that if they used a different format to share the performance tasks with students that most, if not all, students could access the material. As educators it is our responsibility to make things equitable. When I share documents with students, those documents are not missing key elements. Edgenuity creates documents that are not easy to access in their entirety and thus, sets up students to fail.
I had an issue with a completed course not showing 100% complete. I called, and was expecting a long wait time, but Brett answered immediately and was able to very quickly determine the cause and walked me through the fix. I was very impressed with how quick and simple this was!
