I ran into a dilemma while using the Edgenuity site and Mr. Sutton took care of my situation in a speedy and professional way. I was treated with a caring attitude and definitely will not hesitate to use your service again.
Once again Mr. Sutton needs to be given an attaboy for his work.
Sincerely,
John A Jones
My experience working with Edgenuity staff has been nothing less than pleasant. I rarely have issues using this platform and when I do, once I reach out to the staff, they reply promptly. They are helpful and always resolve the issues I have. Give them a try and you'll find you've made a good decision! :)
Edgenuity is terrible for several reasons. The first reason is that there are no semesters, trimesters, or any of the sort. This makes it. Difficult for students to keep up their grades because they have to do it all year long, and it makes it more difficult than normal school. Another reason that edgenuity is terrible for students is that it has very many glitches. For example, a student may submit a test but the activity is not completed. This makes the student have to retake the test, which takes around forty minutes to complete. The final reason is that students cannot review their answers on tests. Unlike quizzes, if students get some of the problems incorrect, then they cannot check what they got wrong on the test. How is a student supposed to learn if they cannot see their mistakes and improve upon them. This also leads to several people thinking tests and exams may be rigged. Since you cannot view what you got correct or incorrect, it makes some people suspicious that maybe tests and exams are rigged so that you cannot get a high grade on them.
I appreciate the quick response from Edgenuity regarding an error in a math problem. I am very impressed with their services and with the curriculum they offer. Keep up the good work!
The agent explained to me that such a repot does not exist. This is just another flaw in your program. Odyssessy Ware offered the report. A teacher could put in a chosen date(s) and see exactly what a student had attempted or completed in that time frame. You don't offer that... terrible!
I contacted Edgenuity to ask a question about the correctness of one of the answer choices. I received an immediate response indicating that my question had been sent to curriculum specialist. One day later I received a very thorough response to my question that completely answered my question.
I was forced to have my 2 homeschoolers take this program. The lessons lack substance. The grading system is based on activities that are auto graded based on keywords (so if you pluralize a word, in any subject, the software marks it wrong). It was extremely liberal in content almost like it was trying to program my kids to think a certain way. The cumalative exam counted so heavily for something graded through a computer program and not a teacher.
I needed help with a student that had completed an assignment, but was only showing 70% complete. The help department got back to me immediately with an answer to the problem.
The lessons aren't engaging my students. The science and social studies standards aren't aligned with the TN state standards. It took one month to hear back from customer service via email.
Ingenuity is a very boring thing is hard for me to stay on Task 1 because there is no actual teachers and you can click on a different tab you can be like I'm off into something else and Ingenuity wouldn't know but when you're on something like Zoom teachers can actually see you when you're off task if they make it so you can not turn off your videos
I wish I could give this a zero rating however, the system will not allow me to.
My son is currently using Edgenuity to support his virtual learning during the pandemic. Apart from the fact that the questions and answers are long, drawn out and very confusing, the system does not allow for any kind of learning environment. No visibility into mistakes and /or errors are allowed at the testing stage to bridge knowledge gaps so students are basically playing the guessing game. I have also recognized that the system erroneously grades answers as incorrect when they are actually correct.
Additionally, the lengthy videos are not conducive to focus and learning. I am very disappointed that our school district has opted to offer their students this worthless crap as a remote learning application. I will be meeting with the principal tomorrow to discuss next steps for removing my son from this program since this is not value adding for him and is ultimately causing more frustration than anything else.
I assumed that the school had his best interest at hand but was clearly wrong. What a sad day when teachers will allow this joke of a program, to support the development of our young people.
I was unable to view a test. Tom helped me and sent me an email with instructions on clearing the cache
I ran into some problems with adding some units and deleting others, which affected my student's completion and overall averages. Maddy was able to explain what was happening and how I could achieve my goal of true student success. I couldn't quite get what I needed from the chat. Maddy returned my call in a timely manner and I was satisfied. It felt great to get that stress off of me.
I have been using Odysseyware for about 12 years as a teacher.
I appreciate that this program does not water down the content like some other online programs. I am sometimes frustrated that it is still very content-driven (is not really aligned to NGSS national science standards), but there are plenty of opportunities to do hands-on activities to get kids off the computer and learning by doing.
Learning online takes a specific type of learner. This program is not for everyone. But, it is tried and true. They are constantly improving it. It is one of the most stable platforms I have seen and is the easiest to navigate. They are very responsive if you need help or have feedback to improve a lesson.
I have found that it is important to understand how the program works so that you can use it to its full extent. For example, you need to do a test or quiz in one sitting. If you change tabs to look up the answer or leave it idle for more than 20 minutes because you took a lunch break or if you log out to finish it tomorrow, the test assumes you are cheating and grades the assessment. Whereas lessons and projects can be stopped and started as needed. Since the program assumes you will use your notes, the assessments can be challenging. So, those students (especially high school) who take notes should use them on the assessments. They are essentially open-book tests.
I had to deal with Edgenuity in public school and the customer service/technical support let something to be desired. This has translated to Ignitia in a private Christian school. To tell me to just clear MS Edge's history may fix the problem of the videos not playing is not acceptable. I told the person that we were getting the message "html5 video not found" is not a browser history problem. Needless to say the problem was not fixed.
Edgenuity responded to me quickly and answered the questions I had in a very helpful and knowledgeable manner.
Support team lady was so kind, helpful, professional, knowledgeable, expert and positive in her response to the issue that we had. She provided all best possible options to help us. There were some technical challenges as it was the weekend when we called for help. She was very attentive to listen our issues. I will give 101 out of 100 to her for the extended support.
My son just got all F's from this site. I watched him spend hours watching the videos, answering questions, and even telling things, we worked on, and yet he's behind by a lot. I don't know why his school chose this site. This is a warning don't use this site.
Edgenuity has high quality curriculum as well as excellent support staff options. When I had a tech issue chat support was quick to help! Thanks!
Edgenuity is an excellent program that provides well-planned and rigorous content for students. I am highly appreciative of the outstanding support team that always ensures that everything we need is just an email/chat/call away. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because there are a few technological items that can be upgraded to enhance administrative user friendliness. However, what I also appreciate about Edgenuity is that they are responsive to feedback. So, I anticipate that sooner than later, they'll make some of the recommended updates to create a greater ease of use.
