Great coffee machine! We were so happy to receive the machine all the way from italy that we turned it on right away, thinking we would figure out how it works along the way. Well, there we went wrong. After a few seconds of heating, the machine shut off suddenly and we couldn't turn it on anymore. I called the service number and this super friendly Italian man told me what the problem was: "yes madam, you turned on the machine, without reading the manual!" I had to agree. It turned out to be a safety mechanism to prevent the boiler from overheating since we didn't fill it with water properly. The nice Italian man sent me a internet link with instructions how to reset the machine and few minutes later we could enjoy the best coffee in the world from our own elektra machine! Great machine, great service! The only recommendation I'd have is to put a big red safety warning on the machine which tells you to read the manual first!:-)
