To make matters worse, I was scammed as a seller on my very first day on the Etsy platform (Issue ID: #16571142). I tried setting one up, and it was instantly and permanently shut down by Etsy without so much as a hint of explanation. There weren't even any listings on the store—literally, all I did was create a profile picture. I appealed the closure, and guess what? Denied. No reason, no transparency, nothing. Now I can't sell or buy anything on my account, and if I try to set up a new one, that'll be blocked too. And to top it all off? Their denial of the appeal is permanent—no second chances, no reconsideration. Ridiculous.
I have never had a bad buy on Etsy, but as a seller I found it to be very frustrating. Etsy is moving more towards a Social site and could care less about 95% of the Shops there. It's very sad to see, it was very hard to close my shop but it had to be done. Etsy was a beautiful dream that went down the corp. crapper! If you are thinking about opening a shop there check out Callin Out on Etsy Blog! If you fall into the very narrow Etsy Brand they will feature you over & over & over- but if you think for yourself Etsy is not for you.
I was sent the wrong seeds, through Etsy, from Houseseeds. I filed a complaint with both Etsy and Houseseeds, The website states that they will respond within 2 days to inquiries - still no response. I've sent inquiries in the past, and now with the wrong seeds, and I've never received a response.

Worst website of all time. I spent $400 on 2 custom watches for my groomsmen. Neither worked. Seller wanted me to pay $60 to ship them back to have them fixed. Why should I have to pay shipping when I already paid for the item and never received what I paid for? I opened a case with Etsy. They told me to upload photos. Photos would not show that the watches did not work. I tried to upload videos and the website would not let me. I asked Etsy support for an email address to send the videos to. They just stopped responding and I am out of $400. Looked like an idiot too when the gifts I gave did not work. Stay away from this site. Huge scam.

I purchased a subscription from a seller on Etsy.com.
When I failed to receive my first issue after 5 weeks,
I contacted Etsy, only to discover that the seller was
no longer in business. And so, I filed a claim for an
"item not received". Shortly thereafter, I received a notice
that Etsy would be issuing a refund in 2-5 days. And, when
I did not receive my refund within that time frame, I contacted
Etsy again. Upon reviewing the claim, the representative
Informed me that my refund had not been processed properly,
And that she had gone ahead and requested a refund again.
The representative informed me that I would be receiving my refund
in 2-5 business days. This was the EXACT same thing that I was
told the FIRST time I reported this issue. As of today, I have
Yet to receive my refund. AWFUL.!
I ordered something from Crystal Casman Jewelry and was advised it was shipping in two days. I was even forwarded a USPS tracking number and it turns out to be less than a business you can trust.
Be leary folks.

I; m a seller on Etsy and an artist that sells some original works of art as well as custom made crafts. I had my account suspended twice for selling what they called endangered animal jewelry (even though it wasn't on their list), I tried to explain this but they suspended my account until the item was removed. Long story short, the item I was made to remove is still being blatantly sold by other sellers. When I asked about this, I was told they'd look into it and nothing was ever done to the other sellers. I was also told I could "snitch" on the other sellers if I wanted to, but what am I the Etsy police? They banned my item and couldn't do anything to anyone else for the same thing. Shady site and as soon as the New Year comes in, I'm closing my shop there. Not a good experience, more stress than anything else and not from customers but from Etsy itself.
Beware - ESTY system protects sellers and does little or nothing for buyers. No way to get answers, No seller contact and no way to gain ETSY assistance. All on line methods would not work.
Would never buy from ETSY again!

Started purchasing an item from Etsy and found that even with checkout by paypal it required that I make a account on their website - what? Paypal can totally handle purchase without requiring setting up site credentials for a company that has no benefit to me. With Target and other people losing information, why would I trust some minor site to have my information?

Horrible experience buying on Etsy. Purchased a signed jersey for a birthday present one week in advance. All the seller did was create shipping labels but never shipped. By creating labels it shows Etsy the seller's intention to ship so Etsy doesn't see it as a problem. Of course, once the seller was contacted, he (James), used the iron clad COVID excuse. Once COVID is mentioned good luck trying to get anything resolved. I will NEVER BUY ON ETSY!

Please look at ALL the reviews of the seller(s). If you see a pattern with a certain aspects, i.e shipping, then you will most likely encounter the same.

June she's the one to send an email for any coloring books you desire and she will do more then Her best to found that book and even if you are to canada and it's right no shipping to canada she will do Her possible to do the shipping.
I ordered the bouquet from Wedideas and was very disappointed. The flowers didn't look the same as they are on the picture. Super small size and not that white at all. They are OK for a flower girl but not for the bride. I wasn't able to use them for my wedding because it was super embarrassing.

Returns and quality 0 stars. They don't process a refund
Etsy sends out Renewal notices to their shopkeepers usually 2 weeks early. If you pay before the final due date you basically lose the overlapping time and they are double-dipping.
IE: if you get a notice on July 1st for renewals on July 15th and you pay on July 1st then your ads are renewed from the July 1st date and you just lost 2 weeks of time from your previous renewal.
Also never pay your fees to ETSY until the due date.
I placed an order with a seller on Etsy by the name Metalunlimited for a personalized clock. I cancelled the order since the seller didn't response to my question. But the seller refused to give me the refund and told me to ask Etsy for the refund. So far it has been 11 days I contacted Etsy several times they finally responded and still asking me to contact the seller. The company is not honest so does the seller.
BUYERS BEWARE! I bought some dresses the end of September. The lady gave herself until almost Christmas to be able to leave a review. She never sent the dresses and she had my money tied up. I am unable to leave a review or contact Etsy. ETSY HAS NO phone number or anyway to contact them. ETSY in my opinion is a terrible place to shop. There is no way to help a buyer. The only thing a buyer can do is be out your money and forget it cause there is no protection or a way to call them.
Please do not order from this site. I placed two orders and both times my money was taken and my products not shipped. Etsy does not vet the sellers which means buying on this site is a crap shoot. Two companies to avoid is Theteescene and Devsoft.
Poor. Item ordered was not as expected. Contacted seller same day item was delivered, requesting return address. Seller cannot find order and asked what was purchased. This information was supplied, still no response from seller. Follow email sent to seller. Again seller asked what was ordered and info was recent. Again, no response from seller. This was my first purchase from Esty and will be my last.
There are good sellers and bad sellers on Etsy, but when it comes down to it, the BAD sellers out weigh the good ones. I, do have to say in the defense of a few of the good ones... they do put their heart into their product and the treatment of their customers. They would do much better by getting their own site.
As for the other Sellers, who think customers should bow down at their feet because they CLAIM to be an artist...
This is the worst site when it comes to customer satisfaction and customer service. I strongly believe because some of these people think they are an Artist, it gives them the right to abuse customers... WRONG! I think this is where the term, "Hungry Artist" comes from! They are hungry because they lack knowledge in customer service, and they wonder why people aren't return or knocking down the doors at Etsy.
BUYERS BEWARE... do not shop here. So many of these, so called Artist, have no manners and have the attitude that they are a gift to society... WRONG AGAIN.
I ordered a large decal. Shipment was to Germany. Took quite long time, and I was charged customs fees that were were almost as much as the decal. The customs fees should be more upfront. I should have to go searching for it.

I received an etsy gift card. I went on and made my first purchase. I was pleased with everything. The selection, the quality, the ease of ordering, and the delivery.
So I ordered another item. Not so impressed. Small selection. (engraved cuff links). The merchant couldn't get the order instructions from the site template so after 2 weeks sent me another template to use (after telling me they'd already shipped it - which obviously they hadn't). It was supposed to be a gift and there was insufficient time to get the item (as long as 21 days according to the merchant) so I cancelled and got a refund - thank god for THAT)
So I gave them another chance and ordered from another merchant. This time all went smoothly until I received an email saying the package was delivered. It wasn't.
I've asked etsy if I can get a cash refund or visa gift card refund. I'm disinclined to give them another chance.
The company appears to work lockstep with scammers that they permit to pretend to sell items on their site. I was the victim of one such scam, but I assumed that Etsy would do the right thing and step up and help. They refused to help setting a nonnegotiable window for someone to get their money refunded, ignoring the fact that I was part of a scam that was purposely Set to go past my ability to request a refund. They clearly don't care. They made no exceptions, and I don't believe it's a site that can be trusted and I don't believe it's a site that deserves your money. Telling everyone I know not to use Etsy and I encourage others to do the same.

None. All were busted or of inferior workmanship. Was begged over and over to give them a chance to fix until the return window closed, then they were abusive. Etsy could have helped. It refused to do so. They are therefore complicit in the scam.
I have just received my wonderful custom made mask of the queen of hearts from Once Upon A Freak. Really nice site, very helpful staff and it arrived well wrapped and in perfect condition.
