📢 Attention, Etsy Community and Support Team! My Etsy shop, NecklaceAura, was permanently banned right at the beginning of my journey with no explanation provided. To make matters worse, I was scammed as a seller on my very first day on the Etsy platform (Issue ID: #16571142). As a passionate and dedicated creator, I am deeply disappointed and seeking clarity on this decision. I kindly ask Etsy to review my case, unblock my store, and provide a transparent explanation. It is unfair to penalize a small business without a clear reason. My small business dream depends on it! #EtsyHelp #SupportSmallBusiness #NecklaceAura #EtsyCommunity
I tried setting one up, and it was instantly and permanently shut down by Etsy without so much as a hint of explanation. There weren't even any listings on the store—literally, all I did was create a profile picture. I appealed the closure, and guess what? Denied. No reason, no transparency, nothing. Now I can't sell or buy anything on my account, and if I try to set up a new one, that'll be blocked too. And to top it all off? Their denial of the appeal is permanent—no second chances, no reconsideration. Ridiculous.
Absolute worst company, DO NOT USE! I was selling on Etsy and had £170 in my account. Someone hacked into my account and stole the money. I've sent 12 emails and heard nothing back. Do not trust them, they're absolutely awful!
Tip for consumers:

After purchasing a plethora of jewellery off Etsy, I must say that the quality and result of what you buy is quite a large range. Often things arrive and they are exactly what they looked like on the website and pretty decent quality. But sometimes they are also 2 dollar store quality. Just ensure that you read customer reviews for the seller before you buy from there!
I have been buying antiques and art for several years on etsy, and the sellers are getting more and more dishonest and belligerent. I always use paypal for an extra level of protection, but the dealer can still stick you with all the shipping charges if you return something, even if they lied in the description of the piece. The level of honestly and professionalism was much better three years ago.
I got scammed! Etsy doesn't require sellers to send tracking info with shipping confirmation! I have been waiting 5 weeks for an item and the seller keeps giving me the run around! Etsy has no phone support just email, which does little to no help. Bad site. Stick to ebay!
Etsy is great to sell and buy. The only problem is that there are many clueless, careless moronic buyers that do not know common sense or know how to read. Sounds mean right?. Well ask ANY sweet and kind Etsy seller. We're abused.
As a buyer, I love most of it, as it is all unique items. However, they are being a bit more welcoming to accepting crap being sold. Anyone can sell a stupid t-shirt or hat -- do that somewhere else. Just a lot of idiots jumping on the latest catch phrase or hashtag to put on something useless. It really has to end.
But as a seller selling unique handmade items with love, the buyer needs to pay attention more But is it their fault? Etsy does not see it's becoming a bad Ebay if they are not careful. So they need to make buyer navigation easier with details in the buyer's face. Make them click something acknowledging they understand each detail and confirm they are not a complete idiot. That would be swell.
Tip for consumers:
Buyer pay attention to all words in your face.
Sellers, be patient with idiots who don't read.
It's a good place to shop for hard-to-find wrestling DVDs. When I received a wrong order, the seller was quick to make it right. A few sellers offer repeat customers 10% or 20% off their next purchase. It's also a good site to find posters and collectibles which aren't on other retail sites because it's handcrafted by the seller, not a company.
Any company that shuts down shops without notice, should be shut down as well. They have no regard for sellers, and the people in their trust and saftey team are complete morons. I am not sure they even know how to read. Nothing is hand made anymore, and they are now turning on their buyers as well. Stop using etsy!
I ordered a couple of t-shirts from somebody that turned out to be overseas in Turkey of all places. When did arrive tire? There was in a ragius amount of duty in taxes owing so I refuse delivery. I've still not received these items or a refund for the order.
Do not shop on this website unless you're absolutely 100%. Sure that the goods originate in the same country that you are in.
I've ordered from a couple different shops and love them all. I've only had one issue with one shop but Etsy's customer service team was able to help me get a fair resolution.
I just want to remind other potential customers that Etsy itself is not selling the items you see, individual shop owners are so if you have a problem with a shop you should contact Etsy for help and if for some reason Etsy can't help you then you should contact your bank or credit card company.
Overall, Etsy has been pretty great and the variety of shops available is amazing. There are some seriously talented artists on Etsy and they shouldn't be lopped in with the few bad apples that give Etsy a bad name.
I ordered several shirts from a seller for a team event I was competing in. The seller did not ship as promised nor would she answer any of my messages to her. I contacted Etsy and after they made me wait their "appropriate time" and still not hearing from the seller I had to reorder the shirts to have them in time for the event. Etsy was made aware of this but still allowed the seller to wait to the last possible minute. Right before my refund was due to be issued she decided to ship the shirts. Because she shipped the shirts and does not accept returns Etsy will no longer help me. It does not seem to matter that the shirts were shipped 1 full month after promised nor does it matter that they are no longer needed and I was forced to reorder from another store. Simple communication returned by the seller would have prevented me from having to now dispute charges on my credit card. Good luck to anyone that has a bad buying experience. Etsy does nothing to protect the buyers.
I bought a scarf from one US store for $50 but then had to pay a further £8.83 in import vat and £13.50 clearance fee. The shop I bought from didn't respond when I queried why I had pay these additional charges when they knew that I was buying from the UK. There doesn't appear to be any redress. I also bought some jewellery, again from a US store and this time had to pay £45.88 in VAT and international handling fees. Again no reply from the store and no redress. Don't use this site - the customer service is non-existent.
Etsy is okay. I've had half good and half bad experiences. The shops are run by people who craft as a side business and they aren't very well trained on good customer service or their Etsy shop isn't their first priority. Some items ship right away and some sit there until the last day of the processing time. I have much better service on Ebay, but sometimes, the things I need for a jewelry business can only be found on Etsy or from China. Etsy is supposedly faster because I can find people who sell in the US, but again, they don't fill orders very fast and my few experiences contacting the shop owners to see if I could get my order processed resulted in nasty and defensive replies. Etsy should train their shop owners how to handle customers. I only shop there when I don't have any other options.
I have ordered a few items from this site and I'm sure it won't be the last time. This site is amazing. A great way for crafty merchants to sell their precious handmade goods to the mass market. It can get pretty pricey, but the quality of the items are great. (depending on the store) Etsy should have store reviews.
I love Etsy very much, it's like a galaxy where I can find amazing, original and beautiful items. You just have to find the right seller (like Amazon, Aliexpress etc.) and I've never been disappointed. I have ordered several times and my parcels have always arrived. In the parcel some sellers don't hesitate to make a cute packaging and give some free gifts. This is really important to buy from sellers who are created they items handmades with a lot of patience & love.
Although Etsy is not the only online marketplace available, it has a large customer base and is one of the most popular sites for selling handmade items. Etsy has over 2 million users and 100,000 stores. On Etsy, you can sell almost anything, from home décor to clothing and even jewellery. If you want to start an online business, Etsy is a good place to start. Etsy offers a wide range of products, so there is always something for everyone in your family or group of friends. The website also provides free shipping to customers in the United States and Canada.
Etsy used to be a wonderful site for handmade goods or vintage pieces. No longer! They now have new "rules" that allow sellers to advertise mass produced goods as "handmade." I bought a cup for a friend that was advertised as handmade. When it arrived, I was shocked to find an imprint on the bottom that said "Made in China." When I complained, Etsy responded that the seller was actually in compliance with their new rules because she "designed" the standard looking coffee mug and wrote the quote on the side! It took me a lot of time and energy to get my money refunded and I have never bought another thing on Etsy. I hear their stock is tanking and it's no wonder -- the Emperor has no (handmade) clothes!
Ordered an item listed for 2-3 days delivery. It is now 9 days and no sign of it. Etsy has no clue! The seller says it'll be another two weeks and Etsy claims they have no say in it all. This was a mistake.
Really poor experience. Order received incomplete - customer service fails to respond - then promises to send tracking info for the rest of the order (claiming they had shipped). Of course, they never provided the tracking either. Gives online sellers a bad name - Sham on them
I pride myself on being a great gift giver! Etsy always has unique items that you aren't going to find just anywhere. I recently had a ton of close friends graduate law school and I found the best graduation gifts on etsy - from hand stamped collar stays and cuff links to custom stationary - great gifts and all at reasonable prices! I've been buying through etsy for a few years now and I've never had less than a stellar experience.
The very existence of a site that is so rampant with overtly false and fraudulent products like this one is just beyond the scope of plain common sense. I have personal experience dealing with these people. If you think buying a used car is a mental nightmare, try communicating with these people. They make used car salesmen look like saints. The most obvious sign to me is even their advertising photographs are blatantly incorrect as to what they are trying to con you into buying. This site would be comical to any individual who has just basic level knowledge of a product they are considering buying but the big problem that I see is the public may not be aware of all the important characteristics of what they are considering buying and therefore suseptible to being ripped off. Avoid this site at all costs. The feds should have shut this place down years ago.

I reviewed buying and selling rare coins from these people. They are total idiots concerning the coins they falsely advertise, overtly photographing a coin totally different from what they advertise at prices that are laughable.
Tried to return some items that were apparently over the 14 day window for returns and weren't exactly as advertised (multi color instead of just one color) and received a snotty reply: "By the way, even 5/11, it is still over 14 days. Policy is policy. If you give us a bad review because your order is over 14 days not allowed to return, we will report you to Etsy and post your threatening email under your review to let people know what kind of buyer you are." Wow... such a great company to do business with, and certainly the last time I do.
Not sure about Etsy from a buyer perspective, but from a seller's point of view - the site is hard to get noticed on and the fees don't take long to add up. Wish there was a better alternative, but am working to learn how this site works.
I think Etsy should take a look at products price and accountability for it. As a customer, I have noticed that products are too pricey (not sure why, perhaps etsy charges the seller) on their site. On the other hand, if you look at other websites it is much reasonable. There is no customer service of Etsy at all. The sellers asking price feels like a rip off. Even though they claim, the products are handmade but I do not think that is quite right. There is no buyer protection
So many customers complained on this company and etsy still has them on there website business as usual. I haven't received my product and I have been totally ignored 61.00 gone down the drain my last resort is try and DISPUTE this on my credit card. Pp
We are local Bee farm and I am Bee scientist and we have Etsy business account since 2003 so it is 19 years. No returns no charge back but new CEO of Etsy after stock value decline wants to hold money from sellers for 45 days to boost company cash flow. We say no. You Etsy can not take adventage of the people from small twown and village's and keep our money. Shame on You. Magister of Honey Bees from Virginia. I will not ship to UK my last order since we do not get money on time but you charge all UK tak to my client and not your client. Etsy is just a messenger and collect fees. " Payment reserve
During this period, 75% of the funds you earn from each order will be unavailable for deposit until your order ships with valid tracking, or after 45 days from the date of sale?
