📢 Attention, Etsy Community and Support Team! My Etsy shop, NecklaceAura, was permanently banned right at the beginning of my journey with no explanation provided. To make matters worse, I was scammed as a seller on my very first day on the Etsy platform (Issue ID: #16571142). As a passionate and dedicated creator, I am deeply disappointed and seeking clarity on this decision. I kindly ask Etsy to review my case, unblock my store, and provide a transparent explanation. It is unfair to penalize a small business without a clear reason. My small business dream depends on it! #EtsyHelp #SupportSmallBusiness #NecklaceAura #EtsyCommunity
I tried setting one up, and it was instantly and permanently shut down by Etsy without so much as a hint of explanation. There weren't even any listings on the store—literally, all I did was create a profile picture. I appealed the closure, and guess what? Denied. No reason, no transparency, nothing. Now I can't sell or buy anything on my account, and if I try to set up a new one, that'll be blocked too. And to top it all off? Their denial of the appeal is permanent—no second chances, no reconsideration. Ridiculous.
I see an item and like it, it's reasonably priced, I check to see how much shipping it is and usually ranges from $10 to $40! FOR SHIPPING! That's insane. Either the vendors need to lower the original price for the item or there needs to be a base price for all shipping!
I ordered 3 patterns 3 weeks ago, however I can't mention my disappointed when I stop at the post office to pick up my mail and see the fees I had to pay (16$) to get the goods. I expected fees to be paid by the time I paid the purchase. I'll not recommend to order anything, because you will have a surprise when you will pick up you stuff! Be carful
Ordered a wreath from HollyWoodNVines, order was shipped with missing LSU plague. Was not informed of the problem. Called the day I received it & was promised that they would rectify the problem, never happened, called 3 more times no answer. E-mailed & again was promised a plague was in the mail. Never happened. Got in touch with Etsy
Insisted I 'open a case" Unable to open a case since I cannot send a photo of said wreath. As I have gifted the wreath. Really disappointed. Will never buy from Etsy again. Poor service.
Tip for consumers:
Don't buy from Etsy, they will not resolve problems if you can't send a photo,
I ordered a some personalized note cards for a friend, but they did not come. I looked up the order and found that they had emailed me a bunch of questions. I responded with an emphatic message to hurry and just send the damn cards! Still no https://www.finestationery.com/checkout/onepage/success/ delivery! Again I checked online about my order. Cindy Sennet w/ thegentlemansstudy responded that I did not answer one of her unnecessary questions! I've ordered lots of stuff online over the years, but this was the worst experience I have EVER had! Avoid this company! And I still have not received the cards! But my friend's birthday came and went! TOO LATE!
Beware of doing business with a store on Etsy called KARMA ROX that sells vintage clothing. I was informed that this company only accepts money orders. I sent a money order in the amount of $178.00 made payable to Jan Brewer from Buford, GA in good faith that she would forward the shoes in time for my daughter's wedding. Her wedding was over a month ago and and I have yet to receive the merchandise or a refund. They claim the vintage shoes have been mailed twice and returned. I have provided an address to them 3 times! Excuse, excuse... I been SCAMMED!
I have ordered from LINEN CRAFTS, Bedsheets & Towels, in the colors violet lavender (Bedding) and lavender bent (towels). They where delivered in a timely manner and good quality of the fabric, only the colors did not match the online pictures and the official description of these colors at all. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender_(color) According the color scheme on wiki the delivered color of the bedding can be described as "Twilight lavender" and the color for the towels is "old lavender". - So I got in touch with the shop but as they refused all responsibility and reimbursement or exchange of the item I have filed a case with ETSY. The only thing ETSY did was asking for evidence in photos which I provided accordingly. Now they ask for even%
Tip for consumers:
Never order anything without letting them send the sample in the color of your choice!!! If you like dark & dull colors, this is the place to go. If you need friendly customer CARE - don't go there at all.
Too many changes and rules now apply after Etsy used sellers to build their site, NOW, they want to eliminate most of their sellers who are trying to make it. It reminds me of Obama himself trying to do his best destroying this country and trying to take over the world. Well, I guess Etsy made enough money that they dont need most of their sellers anymore. The woman who has only been selling on Etsy for only 2 years who made that video I think she's trying to take over but, I know Etsy will lose many sales over this but, that's up to the CEO. That's OK because one day the rich will fall and I guess that lands Etsy in that category too.
If there was a place where I can leave only 1/8 of a star rating, that's the rating I'd leave for Etsy.
The worst online place to shop, i had considered for 1 minute a braclet for new grand baby, cancelled imediatly, they sent out and charged me anyway, it wasnt a special order, just a little braclet, then i noticed other charges, I never order on line, this was the first, never again, they make it difficult to actualy contact them
I recenty purchased a set of steak knives on Etsy. ( my first and last purchase ever). They were extremely corroded and no one would ever use these knives around food. I cent believe any company would ever sell these knives. I threw them away as soon as I received them and complained to owner to no avail. Do noy ever buy from this company.
I signed up via the Australian website. I bought an item from an Australian seller in the app which showed me the purchase was in Australian dollars. Long story short I got charged extra. Turned out the fabulous UX/UI on the websitr had set my default transaction currency to USD even though the app was showing me everything was in AUD.
Etsy support were crap. They were basically saying it was my fault I didn't know about their stupid default currency setting which is hidden on some obscure tab in the user setup when you go in via the website.
They offered me a gift certificat as I'd that was going to make the additional currency conversion fees and my lack of confidence in the product go away.
Don't do it too yourself. If you want to shop local go local.
So, ETSY is a little less straight forward to review than most websites. It is a platform where individuals can open their own shops. I have used it as both the seller and the customer. From a sellers point of view it's very easy to use. The platform offers a great opportunity, but you really need to do your own advertising for your shop to gain traction and customers. As a customer it is also easy to use, but DEFINITELY read the reviews. I have had great experiences with most shops; however, I have had a few bad experiences. ETSY is quick to work with customers to get refunds even when the shop owner isn't. So even if you have a bad experience, there's a little peace of mind knowing ETSY can still insure a refund depending on the situation. For example, I once didn't receive a product at all well after the agreed upon time and ETSY sent a refund and canceled it when the owner wouldn't respond. I'd recommend it from a seller and a customer standpoint.
Tip for consumers:
If you are a seller have a plan for advertising. If you are a customer READ THE SHOP REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING!

I’ve used ETSY’s seller service and bought items from ETSY shops.
I bought a product from these two stores. http://www.etsy.com/shop/4everstore?ref=l2-shop-info-name and http://www.etsy.com/shop/MasquerademaskStudio?ref=l2-shop-info-name paid a good amount for the two mask I bought for my High School Prom. As I was browsing through online I found the same sellers on Ebay and Amazon selling it for Half the cost I paid for it. I was Furious! This website is a scam these two stores are not real artist they are SCAMMERS and should be banned for being dishonest to customers. BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM ETSY they do not protect us customers at all. They only care about making their millions and no customer support at all.
Please people, be aware about this business. There is not even a phone number to contact them. It is like a guost company. It is basically, like working for them, and investing your money for them for free. I had this item on my shop, which was $77.00 A Client bought it. However, since I had posted that for orders over $100.00 was a free shipping. The order, came up to, a bit over $100.00 with the $25.00 dollars shipping that I had posted it with. So, what they did is this, they charged the customer all the fees, including taxes, the costumer paid like $110.00. I had previously paid them $20.00 in promoting fees, they only refund me $59.and a few pennies for the sale, they kept the rest, and I made 000 profit because I spent $23.00 on shipping fees, plus $20.00 in advertising fees, in fact, it is like I just gave away my beautiful piece of antique, only that I had to even work extra to give it away.
They will charge you for everything! Don't waste your time and money. I tried to close my account and store, but I couldn't because I need to pay 0.36 and Thay charge me about 6 dollars every month. I didn't sell anything, but thay charged my a lot.
I have ordered many beaded patches for embroidery works on jackets and jeans etc. the patched have come from
India, China and Mexico and are beautiful.
Products used:
Embroidery patches especially beaded ones or flowers
Fortune Rabbit had a sale on monogrammed robes that I ordered for my bridesmaids, and although the they came in time, three of the robes were done wrong. One had the wrong monogram and the other two were wrong sizes. I was very clear in my email and yet I had received robes that now I cannot give to my bridesmaids. I am so disappointed and would reccomended NOT ordering from Fotune Rabbit. Now my
Gifts for my bridesmaid are ruined and I am getting married in two days so there is no time for me to get anything else.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT ORDER FROM FORTUNE RABBIT
Poorly run online marketplace with arbitrary rules enforecement. No response is standard operating procedure from the Etsy support staff. They seem to have no business or marketing acumen whatsoever. Appears entirely staffed with wannabe hipsters and stoners. They can shut down a seller's store without warning or viable reason. No appeal process or inquiry. Thus, they can and do confiscate all the sellers product images and descriptions, costing the seller thousands of hours of labor and money. Don't forget that the seller has already paid for a contracted listing of a specified duration. Etsy allows unstable buyers to run amok who make multiple purchases with no intention of paying. Seller concerns are routinely ignored. Do yourself a favor and use Bonanzle or other online marketplaces instead.
A friend of mine turned me on to Jeanette's Patisserie on Etsy. Their store is actually at http://www.etsy.com/shop/jeanettespatisserie and I gotta tell ya, their sandwich cookies are so freakin tasty I've converted to these healthier cookies... yes, finally healthy AND delicious cookies can now be purchased! They also have these brownies with real whiskey and ganache! Can you believe it! We ordered 2 of their Organic Chocolate Almond Bundt Cake's for our office party and in 2.5 seconds BOTH were gone... time to reorder... for myself!
There are thousands of scammers on Etsy but mine happened to be Lannie Simino from the shop: www.etsy.com/shop/revintagelanniejewls. She stole $530 from me for a pair of fake gold toned earrings that she falsely branded as 20k gold. I grew suspicious about their light weight and their unusual shine, so I did the acid test in which they resulted negative. Contacted the scammer immediately but she never responded. Then I opened a case with Etsy but they defended the scammer because she shares the stolen money with them. They don't care about buyers because they know that new victims will fall into their trap anyway. I've got burned but you don't have to. Beware of these cyber criminals pretending to be vintage merchants. Worse yet, there are thousands of women among them...
I was so happy to finally find a v-neck Chiefs shirt for women. I ordered a 2XL. First I was not notified for about a week. Then... I was notified that it had gone to China! I'm in Texas! When I emailed and questioned the shipping I was assured it would be shipped to me. After a few days more I was told it was in California! About another week and it did make it to my address. This was an early Christmas present. I decided to open it and found it was beautifully made, but about the size of a Youth Large. When I emailed the company they just stated that (to them, I guess) it was a 2XL womens! Totally frustrating to have paid $59.00 and it wouldn't even fit! No more Etsy for me!
I have recently been shopping on etsy I think this site is great I love their shops and when I sighn on I love the items they have laid out for me. Items I purchase come quickly and there is always a personal not from the store owner makes me feel special!
I am appalled at the business practice of this company. My mom helped my 80 year old grandpa open a store to sell his hand carved wooden toys. His items were 100% his own and handmade. He was doing really well for over a year when out of the blue they suspended his account with NO EXPLANATION and NO WARNING. My mom tried contacting them about why it was suspended and got a really vague robot response that stated they determined his store would keep breaking their rules. WHAT RULES?!? Like I said, we got zero warnings and zero complaints before this... and now we can't even get through to a human being to resolve the issue or get an explanation. Our IP address has been blacklisted that we can't even make purchases on the site anymore! In an instant, we are banned entirely and my grandpas store is gone. I am no longer considering them for my own business. TERRIBLE COMPANY!
I have purchased 80+ items on etsy and this is the first time I have ever had an issue. The seller I had issues with was collegeprojewelry. My husband tried to surprise me with a pandora charm only to find out the charm was fake or counterfeit. They said the charm is a replica. Which took me 10 minutes of googling to figure out a "replica" is code word for NOT REAL. His name is Chris Moshinskie and with a little google search again, it lead me to his rap sheet of being a habitual thief. Which makes perfect sense considering he sell these fake items on etsy. I am not worried about losing $10 on this charm, more concerned that 100s of others have the same issue. What a scum bag.
My girlfriend got personally banned from etsy because of the mismanagment of accounts owned by her ex husband. She wrote trying to explain the situation but etsy wanted nothi g to do with it and said the matter is closed and she could never have an etsy account or have anyone open an accounts for her. Thanks etsy for helping her terrible ex ruin her life even more. Thanks for participaiting in the abuse. Super cool.
One particular store, TangerineCircus sold me two extremely shoddy cell phone cases that have all but fallen apart in less than 2 months. And according to etsy's policies, I can't alter the rating, I can't edit my review, and I can't file a complaint because it broke too late. This is ridiculous. This just encourages sellers to make stuff JUST GOOD enough to pass etsy limits of compaint filing.
