📢 Attention, Etsy Community and Support Team! My Etsy shop, NecklaceAura, was permanently banned right at the beginning of my journey with no explanation provided. To make matters worse, I was scammed as a seller on my very first day on the Etsy platform (Issue ID: #16571142). As a passionate and dedicated creator, I am deeply disappointed and seeking clarity on this decision. I kindly ask Etsy to review my case, unblock my store, and provide a transparent explanation. It is unfair to penalize a small business without a clear reason. My small business dream depends on it! #EtsyHelp #SupportSmallBusiness #NecklaceAura #EtsyCommunity
I tried setting one up, and it was instantly and permanently shut down by Etsy without so much as a hint of explanation. There weren't even any listings on the store—literally, all I did was create a profile picture. I appealed the closure, and guess what? Denied. No reason, no transparency, nothing. Now I can't sell or buy anything on my account, and if I try to set up a new one, that'll be blocked too. And to top it all off? Their denial of the appeal is permanent—no second chances, no reconsideration. Ridiculous.
I was one of their most loyal sellers. Had two shops packed with over 200 items in each. HUNDREDS of sales, many repeat customers.
But etsy has changed. They are getting stupider and greedier every second. They stopped listening to their customers. Complainers got muted! MUTED! I'm a PAYING CUSTOMER not a child. Soon after my little time out I got PERMA muted. Now decided it's time to move to Artfire, I TRIED to have a clearance sale. And now with no warning, both my shops have been shut down. I cannot even leave feedback to my last customers. Or mark their items on the way.
NO answers to support emails. (Dating back to last FEB over their privacy violation.) And... I'm finding more and more FORMER etsy people over on Artfire and other such sites.
NO... etsy is not the friendly helpful site they once were. It was nice while it lasted, but it's over.
Go google etsy privacy or etsy resellers plenty of reading there. You'll see.
I ordered 2 Christmas tutu's from Chacha Tutu and absolutely love them! My grand daughter looks so precious in them, I will for sure be ordering many more from them. If you have a little girl in your life check them out at *******@yahoo.com or www.etsy.com/shop/chachatutu
Over the years I've bought plenty of great clothes from the nicest woman, Sue at The Coolest Giveaways... just bought some Quarantine graduation sweatshirts and they were SOO cute! I'm about to buy some more. Great quality products. I highly recommend. Karen
Are employees/staff have the right to open a store at ETSY. Had heard some rumors that some employees have their stores, stealing ideas and design and eliminate others vendors that compete with them. Of course they have the power to shut down ur store or give u hard time so you will quit.
I've bought a few items from etsy over the years, and while they have really unique stuff I find that the prices are often a little too high (not always the case but about half the time). Also lately Ive noticed the site becoming more like Amazon with people trying to seller cheaper manufactured items that they likely buy overseas. But if you spend the time searching you can generally find really nice, unique pieces.
We have had great success selling on Etsy. Our customers are among the nicest people we have ever met. Even dissatisfied customers were really nice and polite.
The few purchases we made all went smoothly.
It is important foe everyone to understand that when you buy on Etsy, you are buying from individuals and small family owned operations. Many of these sellers have no business experience or training. For them, the business, customer service and sales side is a learning experience. Sadly many of these sellers are also being misguided on various seller forums to be hostile towards their customers.
Yeah, Etsy has some warts, bad sellers and confusing policies but in general it is a great place to shop and a great place to sell your crafts.
I recently had my identity stolen. During this time someone opened a shop using my name. The store was suspended. I attempted to open a new account and was rejected due to, the impersonators antics. I have sent more than a dozen emails to customer service trying to explain my dilemma. They have refused to answer.
Tip for consumers:
w awful customer service is. How they can suspend an account without explanation.
Products used:
I was selling dried wildflower art hangings.
Despite being one of the largest and busiest commerce sites in the world, Etsy still has not figured out how to program for customers who have a tax exempt number. Their archaic system requires buyers to email the support link and ask for a rebate on tax paid on tax exempt purchases. In theory, this is not so bad. But when you email them, you get no response. Then when you finally do get a response after dozens of tries over several weeks, you get a canned response like "your seller account is not active." This has nothing to do with selling. You can find a hidden phone number to call Etsy, but you get a foreign agent who has no clue what you're talking about, and then disconnects you after you've waited 45 minutes on hold to talk to her. If you want to be totally frustrated, exasperated, irritated and waste hours of your time, Etsy's the place for you.
I have been an occasional customer since 2015 until now. I received the email that my order was cancelled. I checked. It was $184! Somebody was trying to make a purchase to my account. It didn't go through and I got the note from etsy. Then, I checked my previous order for $12.10 which I posted. It was cancelled and I never got any notification and no refund, as well. When I contacted the shop about refund (2 days later), I immediately received the refund! Like somebody was just sitting and waiting for my message? Scam and fraud. Especially the fortune tellers. Never use that service on etsy. Most of them are scammers.
UPDATE: August 2024. I finally found a courage to close this account. I was still using to buy some plants and seeds, but most of reliable sellers have an own website and I will buy on their website, if need. The fortune tellers and magic producers do very well on this site. OMG, how many naive people make them money. Stay away!
I have had an online store and I am still waiting 3 weeks later for the escalation department to get back to me. Meanwhile Etsy is charging my credit card and still holding onto my credit card information and for no reason. Cheap is not always the best way to go. In this case it's definitely so true about Etsy! Do not go cheap. Pay a little bit of money. It will be cheaper in the long run and you get better service.
I purchased many items from various Etsy shops from Handmade to Vintage such as supplies, jewelry, home decor and clothing and was very pleased with everything. It's a one stop shopping place where I don't have to look further with the most reasonable prices on the web. I love that each shop has their own unique style! I definitely recommend to check out the shops on Etsy!
I ordered an embroidered name plate that was supposed to be a Christmas 2016 present. I paid $87.00 on 10/1/2016, and now it is Mar 2017 and no product or refund and they say my case is closed because they sent me two emails and I did not respond.
There are many different things available on the Etsy market, including bridal gowns. You can get gorgeous wedding dress styles that go with your sense of fashion and individuality. You may choose a dress that precisely matches your personality because they come in so many various styles and colours.
I've been selling on Etsy for about 2 and a half years now, and I really have no complaints. Yeah, they recently changed their policies so they could ignore resellers, their forums are a bit draconian and their fees are kind of steep, but it's been a great experience for me. If YOU offer good customer service and follow their guidelines, Etsy will be kind to you. And if you're a shopper, just know that you are usually working with individuals, not corporations, so service will be different than what you're used to--perhaps slower, definitely more handmade. But if you work with the right people, you can get some great custom items. And they offer great shipping discounts! I love Etsy.
Etsy is nothing but a tidal wave of mass resellers selling factory pieces from China. Non-existent customer service, Nazi-like treatment of sellers, punishes sellers for free speech and even just asking a question. Bold face LIES. Etsy promotes Factories and ignores Handmade Artists. The new star system is broken (buyers can't leave any feedback since the change) and Direct Checkout Scam are just the iceberg we all needed to leave. Leave Etsy now if you are a handmade Artist. Leave them with the Chinese Factory crap. Indiemade and Zibbet are waiting for you with open arms.
Used to be great, overrun by fake, bait and switch sellers. Had a horrible experience after I ordered an item from China and received a completely different product. Etsy would not refund, seller demanded that I send the incorrect item back to China to get a refund. Paypal saved the day, as it was clearly obvious that this was a bait and switch scammer. Etsy's customer service was useless. Two other people experienced the same issue as I have after me. The seller's shop is still up, as Etsy clearly puts profit over customer service now.
I love that I found this site. I use it a lot now for finding gifts that are homemade or just very unique. It's inspired me to maybe open my own little Etsy store. I wish the site was a little more user friendly - more search options and categories would be nice. There are just so many items to sift through.
For the most part my purchases have been wonderful. I've had some beautiful clothes made, and have bought many great gifts.
A few complaints: they give the sellers 100% positive feedback status even when they have some negatives or neutrals. I don't like that, they seem slanted towards to sellers. I also don't like if I'm checking feedback that I can't sort the negatives and positives - you have to scroll forever to find them. I also think there should be more space so sellers can post photos.
Despite the complaints I use Etsy all the time - waiting for it to improve!
A great place to get unique handmade! I love to buy over there.
I have never tried to sell anything on etsy.com, however my friend was not pretty happy selling over there.
However as a buyer – I'm very satisfied with this site, it offers unique items and artworks at cheap price.
If you buy on Etsy, you'd better hope that your goods arrive, and in the condition you expect, because they will not offer you any recourse with the merchant. I have been trying to get refunded for an advent calendar I ordered on Nov 20,2015. It's not Jan 21,2016, still haven't received it. The merchant won't refund me until I return the goods -- how can I do that if I haven't received them? Etsy says they can't do anything because I ordered via Paypal, I have to take up the refund with them. So what's Etsy doing here, besides sitting in the middle and taking a cut? It's definitely not customer service -- between opening an inquiry on the site, and talking with someone on the phone, Etsy has done nothing to help. I guess I am just out the money until the merchant decides to refund me, if that day every comes.
It was an ok experience. For the most part all my items were great. I did have someone scam me out of $150 and they refused to help me. All they did was close the person's shop in an attempt to make them talk to me but the never did. I had to go through my bank to get my money back. If you need a refund, don't count on Etsy to help you. They're just a middle man who doesn't care much about their consumer base. They need to implement better protocols for these issues, or at least preventative measures.
The online store had lots of cute things and updated frequently until they opened their physical store in Rochester... since then, they neglect their website and it's sad since not everyone lives in Rochester and can't go to see all the goods.
They've been kind to me and the owner, Tempest, has been more than friendly! She's the best!
Once in a while with my order I'll get a free gift:)
I've bought from them since they first opened online way back!
Their stuff is all handmade and super cute!
I love that you can find almost anything here. Hand made products are beautiful! I have never been disappointed and everyone has loved the gifts I have given them that I bought here! That's saying a lot when you're teenager is excited about your gift!
It's been almost 10 years selling on Etsy. At first it was absolutely wonderful with a great community but over the last few years etsy's greed has gotten the best of them. With ever growing fees and new fees being added. Changes that are for Etsy's benefit and hurt the seller. Etsy has gone downhill and fast. It's sad to see what was once a great platform for sellers selling handmade items turn into greed and cheap mass produced items.
Saw their commercial of the nice young couple attending an expanded family gathering to receive Etsy gifts and nary a mask. How sweet! Why are they promoting that people get together for the holidays? Is 170,000 new infections a day not enough for them? Their profits are clearly more important to them than the survival of their customers. Is this a sustainable business model? Nice ethics.
