Eventbrite has a rating of 1.1 stars from 337 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Eventbrite most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and purchase tickets problems. Eventbrite ranks 229th among Event Planning sites.
My nonprofit org has created over 400 events on Eventbrite and we love the incredible power of this site. We've even created bots with their great API to integrate registration data with other systems. Love it!
I hope Eventbrite goes to hell They swallowed my tickets. I bought tickets, have receipt, they won't display. I'll proceed to make their life a living hell.
I purchased a ticket from this web site, I tried to request a refund before the event date passed. They told me that I had to contact the even organizer myself! Makes no sense, the charge on my card says that i paid event brite. This company is a rip off and a joke! Next time in using groupon or living social. I've never had this issue with them.
Tip for consumers:
USE GROUPON OR LIVING SOCIAL, THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!
Its been a month since the event I held and I still haven't received payment. No-one responds to any of my messages or answers my calls when I eventually found their phone number. It looks like I may have to take them to court to get my money. Disgraceful service, stay clear.
How is this company allowed to continue in this market with such bad reviews? I used them as a 3rd party for advertising and they billed me twice. I can't get my money back yet because their customer service is non-existent. This should be a crime.and it is...
I was overcharged. Not only were the ticket prices triple the venue's prices, but I never agreed to the price they charged me. I have gone back and forth with them without this matter being corrected. Normally when you purchase tickets, you receive an e-mail receipt that states what you are being charged. I was never sent that information, and was shocked to see my credit card billed for over $300. Do not use this company.
Purchased $90 of tickets via PayPal for a pub crawl featuring 4 bars with prizes, giveaways and drink discounts. First bar offered $1 off their featured drink. The remaining 3 bars were not participating and told us that this company did the same thing the previous weekend. No costume contest, no prizes, 3 our 4 bars were not participating. Eventbrite refused to give a refund. On top of it, after using my PayPal account, I started receiving fraudulent requests for payment. DO NOT USE EVENTBRITE!
I had a free event. Eventbrite was recommended to me so I figured it was a great way to recruit some new customers. What a waste of time! I spent time posting, emailing, trying to get people who picked free tickets to call me and confirm and only 1 out of 33 confirmed and showed up for this event. Thank God had scheduled other appointments. Why would people bother getting tickets, free tickets and not contact me or show? Is this a scam to get peoples info, email and name? Seems so.
They gave me the wrong address on the ticket. When I took the directions from there site they offered another address, which also was wrong. I drove for 45 minutes and came back to my home. I tried calling on their customer support number *******531 and a very rude lady answered asking me who is this. I told my name and asked if this was eventbrite and she answered that it was a wring number. I wanted to give them negative 5 stars. I did not have the option!
Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time here. Ask yourself a question even if you get some business from here would it be worth it.
Would a reference you get from here be a shine or a bad publicity methodology?
Even for a free event, Eventbrite sucks. The interface is convoluted and inflexible. I'm an Art Director with more than 20 years experience. I have enough experience and technical know-how to know how bad Eventbrite is.
After buying 2 tickets to see Snoop Dogg and this concert being cancelled 3 times, I accepted their offer of a refund. This was in October and after many emails they've decided to keep my tickets and my money.
Its just impossible to get anywhere!
Well done Eventbrite that's one great SCAM you've got going on there - you must of made a fortune.
If an organiser has only listed their event with Eventbrite then the customer doesn't really have a choice whether to use it or not. I used to think it was excellent, until something went wrong and I realised Eventbrite don't have any helpful customer service! A company not having any contact telephone number or online chat is a major red flag nowadays.
My experience…. An event organiser failed to provide a service, so I requested a refund on the platform.
The event organiser replied stating they weren't able to issue a refund via Eventbrite due to system restrictions, so I contacted Eventbrite's 'support' to ask for help.
Eventbrite sent me this "We reviewed your request and are not able to issue a refund at this time as the event in question does not appear to be cancelled."
They offer no solution. The event organiser has taken my money, not provided the service, and Eventbrite refuse to help.
If there is an alternative to Eventbrite, I would use it.
I paid for tickets using Eventbrite for an event near me, where all prices were listed in Canadian. I was then charged that price in American, (so charged $400 rather than the appropriate $280), and given tickets with someone else's information on them. When I reached out to Eventbrite to rectify this issue, they asked for my name and credit card number and stated they didn't have any orders from me. When I asked if they wanted my receipt or order number, they ghosted me.
I had to contact both my bank to dispute this and now wait 8 weeks to get my money back, and the venue, to get tickets at the proper price as they stated I was not the first person this happened to for this event.
Don't know how this company is legally allowed to be in business still.
Tip for consumers:
Terrible service and ordeal. Never again will be going to events that use Eventbrite as their ticket seller. Even their customer service emails were grammatically incorrect and littered with spelling errors. Super sketchy experience even though it was the official ticket seller for this local event.
I would give 0 stars if possible.

I purchased tickets to attend an event. I cannot even use them as it is some else's info and I cannot verify my purchase at the venue since nothing is linked to me on these tickets.
I registered with Eventbrite and paid for a speed dating event with them. The address for it was actually the 7/11. I sent messages asking about the venue for the event and no one responded. There was not any info given for a contact person to call. Simply put they took my money and I got absolutely nothing from it. I will never sign up for anything with them again. Rip off alert.
Tip for consumers:
An actual contact person to speak to. There must have been a person in charge of the event. Fraud straight up.

Not a shipped product. An event to attend.
They don't deserve even one star. When I accessed their site to sign up for a free event, the signing up went fine, but no ticket was forthcoming, though it looked like one was trying to come up. OK, so I just printed out their email to use as a ticket. But then I needed to change the show time. Impossible. There is NO WAY to contact them. They have no phone, no email, no live chat - though one had been posted - and no facebook, etc., etc. After searching and searching on their website, I sent a message via what looked like a client form. No result. Will never use them again for any reason.
OK for 'one off' events - but NOT suitable for repeat events. Eventbrite change things all the time without informing you and will LOCK your events - creating new listings to reflect the changes. This means if you use eventbrite widgets to embed events on your own website you are screwed - as the widget breaks. This has happened to me 3 times in 12 months so I have abandoned eventbrite in favour of a self hosted solution which has saved me a lot of money already.
This holiday season it is a routine thing for events listed on Eventbrite to be cancelled at the very last minute. Venues of all types cancel their published event within a day or so of the listed time for the function. In many cases the money is refunded, but not all. Some of the holiday events this season should have been cancelled as well and were not. I'd show up and there would be very few people present but the party or event was allowed to continue. Very hit or miss with Eventbrite and mostly a miss.
I bought 4 ticket for the Edward Twins through Eventbrite. There were 3 tiers of tickets, $60, $70, & $90. I bought the $70 tickets, ($76.54 with service charge). I expected to be seated somewhere in the middle of the venue. We were seated in the furthest back seats, from which we could not even see the faces of the performers. When I called Eventbrite, the person I spoke to, Paul, said they have no control of the seating, that no one else complained, (all 10 people at our table complained), and that I should have bought the $90 tickets. I have always purchased tickets directly from the venue, but had no choice for this show. I will not make the same mistake again.

I used the tickets I purchased. Had no choice. Didn't realize how bad the seats were until the show started. It was a show of entertainment personality impersonations. We were seated so far away that we couldn't see the performers' faces. May just have well been in the parking lot.
If you can't log into your tickets good luck! No human interaction, no recourse, no working phone number, no human response of any kind!
Organisers PLEASE stop using this absolutely $#*! service to book events
Tip for consumers:
Tell organisations not to use them

I don't want to even give 1* to this company! But had to, so I could leave a review. Avoid this company like the plague! I won't go to any more events if these are the ticket agents! Miss leading information so overcharged, shocking customer service! When you eventually get a reply, they are Very rude and unhelpful.
They facilitate the sales of events where the actual organizer of the event never agreed to that. So someone is making money on selling people fake tickets and Eventbrite takes it's cut and runs! How is this business still operating after years of ripping people off is beyond me!
Event Brite is designed for the benefit of the organizer. They can sell anything (concert/event tickets) however they want (with promises they don't have to fulfill like VIP amenities). If you don't get the service the way it was intended they still will not help you. They will tell you to contact the organizer. The website is only designed to get your money for the planner and for eventbrite to get processing fees (I paid $150 in fees). You will get charged two ways to use their service VIP tickets for me totaled at $1,150. Don't buy any concert or event tickets unless you are ok with ANY result. Just know that customer service only will take messages and phone calls from people who are planning an event. Not people who are actually trying to get help. I didn't get the full amenities of my VIP ticket and nothing was done about it ($940 wasted).
Tip for consumers:
Read the stipulations of the seller regardless of what event brute guarantees to customers. There loyalty is to the seller.
We used to be able to contact customer support by telephone anytime and got good service from them, but now it is impossible to contact them by telephone and their 48 hour turnaround of emailed concerns seems to be only a number. Not only were they very slow in responding but did not address my question and when I asked for clarification on the main question, they did not respond at all. Very concerned as I have two active events and am just finding out that they do not seem to be the company that I dealt with when I first started hosting events.
Purchased tickets to syd cbd mushroom racing. Well Jesus Christ what a mess. All the communication has been confusing, messy and unclear. Definitely were mislead into thinking the racing would be in cbd however is in eastern creek (massive difference) for how expensive this is this is rubbish. 100% want a refund as this has been so poorly organised and I have zero interest in attending due to how bad the communication and wrong info has been.
I purchased a 90 minute Chicago architectural tour through LivingSocial and Eventbrite on May 17,2017. It is now June 26 and the August date that I require is not yet available. August dates will not even be posted until (by) July 15. That is 2 months after purchase and I have no confidence that my date will even be available. In addition, I cannot plan anything else for that date because I don't know what time the cruise can be booked, if at all.
I have contacted Eventbrite and they referred me back to LivingSocial. LivingSocial refuses to do anything because the purchase from Eventbrite is non-refundable. Seriously? I can't book it and I can't get my money back.
Steer clear. Run.
EventBrite has been consistently denying conservative organizations from promoting their programs. Specifically, Daily Wire and Matt Walsh have been denied the ability to screen their documentary, "What is a Woman." EventBrite provided no justifiable reason for banning the documentary. So, EventBrite should simply be hit in the wallet. We should boycott them and take our business elsewhere. Virtue signaling needs to be penalized. Once EventBrite discovers the financial impact of its bad decisions, then perhaps it will become an honest service provider.
Worst experience I've had in my life. Charged over 240$ per ticket and did not live up to their ad description of what the event should have been. Unprofessional stab at performing, mediocre dinner with no beverage other than water. BUT, 2 huge cash bars set up - larger than the entertainment booths which were a joke! Do not waste your money with this. Friends have found other events cash grabs and offering not much in return. If you want to throw money away, sign up for Eventbrite events. Toronto, ONT
Tip for consumers:
Dont use Eventbrite they advertise rip off artists
