I had lots of technical problems with the app. Background check took almost a month and already been approved months before this w both Uber and Lyft. Got my scheduled appointment and made deposit. Waited for appointment to pick up car
Seemed like a good deal a month ago but after the 300%+ increase in start payments in the same way creditors sense red flags when one person applies and/or obtains multiple new accounts/debts in a short amount of time bc they could already know they're dying (for example LOL) so whatever I wonder what Fair is preparing for!?"
I have a good experience so far. I would appreciate if you can add dealer based search on the main screen. I was surprised when I found out that this option is available on android app. Please add it in apple as well.
Not a paid review. Long story short but a majority of places do not offer the maintenance coverage roadside assistance and other perks of leasing through fair. However if you're like me your credit is either poor or non-existent which means you won't qualify for most of those fancy lease deals that dealerships offer. That's where this app wins out. They will take a soft pull of your credit and if you have any repos
Would have been nice to know ahead of time that it checks your credit score. Your description does not mention it and it is deceptive. I even tried to use it for Uber so I can pay bills since my car is no longer in Uber's Vehicle guidelines. I got denied. Seems like they want to help themselves than others. It's harder for people who were young and messed up there credit and trying to get back on track. I thought I was going to a chance to redeem myself with Fair
Hate how this app doesn't list if it's an auto or manual in the basic info menu. Spent 45 minutes yesterday driving to a location to find out that the vehicle was an automatic. Poor layout and focus on things that don't matter like saying it has air conditioning and alloy wheels. What car for 300$ a month doesn't have that!
As a car enthusiast I know exactly what I want. More filtering options would be ideal rather than relying on seo to find a trim level you want. (Ie "mustang gt" vs filter by v8 engine) An option to save search parameters + enable push would also help.
I like the concept but the execution isn't there yet. I expect the app to get a lot better given how much money Fair has raised and who is working on it and my main suggestions are: include actual pictures of the cars only (not stock photos)
But I think it could be improved. This is a subscription era and I really don't mind they pre-screening or checking my credit score as long as they give me the flexibility. I highly advise the founding team to come up with a package like that. I mean those dealers have too many cars sitting there anyway! That is being said I'm going to try the service very soon and see how it goes."
I have a bad experience with Fair since I'm not able to create a ride-share account due to a "glitch" in the system while they have a very responsive & great support team but with all due respect they're weak technically! It has been more than 3 weeks sending emails & chatting with them trying to solve the issue so i can use the app with no success! The last email i got from them last Friday and they stated that the problem affects only a certain percentage of people due to my bad luck and unfortunately they don't have a time frame when the glitch will be resolved which is in my opinion this considered as lack of support. I didn't even started to use the app and they're asking me to be patience until they sort out the problem. Mu advise is to hire technical people who can solve such issues faster specially when you don't have a functional website as alternative solution. Thanks.
I've had a car through fair for a few months and from personal experience I can say this whole thing is a sham. Customer service has no idea what they're doing or saying. Getting a supervisor to resolve anything is impossible. I had to get w new car battery for their car after having it for only 1 month because it's not covered in their warranty and maintenance but i should have received a car that works to begin with. Then
Was initially a very happy customer. After getting over billed by $100/month for 3 months in a row (been a customer since December of 2017 your execution was sorely lacking. To be clear I do not lay blame with the customer service reps here. So far as I can tell they have not been provided the tools to give proper service to their customers this is a serious mismanagement/systems design problem."
No one could tell me how many miles I was being charged for. Everyone said they didn't access to that information. Then they'd transfer me to the "right" department. Billing sent me to concierge who sent me to finance and back around again. Each time waiting on hold at least 30 minutes between transfers. 3 different times people said they would have to get back to me and have someone call me in 2-3 business days. No one ever called. They won in the end I just paid the extra money because I was tired of calling being placed on hold and never getting an answer."
I've been trying to get my account approved for over 5 months now. All I receive every single time is the same excuse that the documents I submitted were not received by their accounts team. How can an e-mail not be delivered to their team despite trying 4 different times? A lot of roaming around in circles and here I am 5 months later still where I started from. The team conveniently forgets to respond to my emails
Tried well over 5 times to order a car within the last month and customer service reps keep giving the run around and contradicting themselves. They don't return phone calls like they're supposed to and there is never a supervisor to speak to on duty. Each rep acts like they have no idea what they're doing!\\\And have inventory of cars that are not available.\\\
I've had the truck for 2 years now! I've paid on time every month! They repo my truck for because they claimed I have over paid tolls fees! I sent in receipts & proof it's paid & they still haven't resolved it! They won't let me get my personal items out of the vehicle. I'm taking them to small claims court & will report them to Better Business Bureau! Apps never works properly & customer service sucks!
I was extremely hesitant to get my car through this new Fair app- but I tried it out and was pre-approved! So lo and behold I seen a 2017 Jeep Renegade and they had the exact color I wanted. Low start payment and decent monthly payments as well. Do what you can afford! Check-out took about 10 minutes and the next day I received an email saying Everything was good you're leasing it and can return the car when you're ready to get a new one! Very smart and love the idea!***"
To whom this may concern I just want to let you know that I have never had a great and above and beyond service like the one I received from Fred in the Oakland branch. That amazing man can be helping 10 people at the same time. He greets us as if he knew us for years. He makes everyone feels the center of his attention. Great customer service
I absolutely love the app and its ease of use. Buying a car was always a dreadful experience and thankfully Fair has made it a breeze. Shockingly I am actually looking forward to my next lease. Thanks guys!
If you have a few days of patience and speak to live chat and follow up with them through email they could save you thousands of dollars. I am a real estate broker and need high quality cars to use in my business. Fair is charging you a small percentage more because they are taking all the risk in depreciation
I would never use this service again and would strongly recommend against using it. It has been endless frustration at every turn. I have never spent so much time in customer service hell just to get the promised services from a company. Every step of the way - whether vehicle selection
I had my cat stolen and within two days I had a new car including insurance through this app... they even called an Uber to bring me to the vehicle. Truthfully was easier than any process I've ever been through and I am driving my dream brand- JEEP! Truly thankful
I haven't used the app as I see it are avoiding that dreaded confrontation with a dealer no long term commitment and if desired a one stop shopping experience. Maybe customer service is "immature" as this is a relatively new company with a new concept. My advice to Fair is stop using your responses to people's complaints here as a means for copy & paste advertisement. These are your customers and they CAN and WILL make or break your business."
Decided to try and order a car. After several days not hearing anything I initiated a chat with one of their agents who had no information to share. Several hours later my order got cancelled without being notified. Reason was that the dealer did not respond according to the agent. Five days have past since I ordered and I am back to zero. Looks like the future of easy car ownership is not there yet.
Up until today the customer service from Fair was top notch on my end. I haven't placed my order yet I have been having issues with them accepting my statements. I had been going back and forth since the beginning of January and due to this I was given a $250 discount towards my start up payment. Finally today all documents were accepted and I go to place an order. Being the cheap guy I am I decide hey I have a referral code maybe I can save an extra 100. WRONG the referral code basically removed the discount they applied on my account. When I reached out for help I was told that the 100$ referral was the only discount available even after explaining that it was a courtesy due to the inconvenience of having to wait two months as well as other smaller issues along the way. It's ridiculous that after all this time now you guys refuse to help me. I only didn't 1 star because I did have 2 reps who did an amazing job.
I just downloaded this app after being in the fence while reading the reviews. The main issue is that you can't view anything without first giving them your Driver License for a credit pull. I would say unless your are desperate don't use this app. Go do your foot work and don't risk your credit to just browse used cars. I think most reviews are right in that these people I'm gonna pry on those who have bad credit and are not as educated about car buying as they need to be. I was hoping that with all the negative reviews they would at least try to make is so that one could look at the options before they commit. I think what was miss-leading is that the developer responds to the comments and I thought maybe they actually consider them but really they all say the same thing. They sympathize and to co tact customer care for help. One star for the concept because it has potential and one star for their advertising because it's catchy. No stars for the above mentioned.
Fair is a new way to get a used car that lets you lease a pre-owned vehicle completely digitally – and for as long as you want. Use your phone or the web to shop cars with monthly payments that fit your budget, get approved in-app, sign for the one you want with your finger, then drive it month-to-month for ultimate flexibility, or on a 2-year or 3-year lease if you want the best value.
Headquartered in Santa Monica, Calif., Fair launched in August 2017 as an app-based digital leasing platform for pre-owned vehicles. Since then, the Fair app has been downloaded almost 4 million times and the company has grown into the world’s leading used car leasing platform, serving customers throughout California and Florida.
