We hired Family Stores to ship our furniture and personal belongings to Canada. The shipment was packed at the beginning of August as was to arrive in Canada by November. The shipment finally arrived in Canada (Montreal) January 1st. That is when the real trouble started. We could not clear customs and the shipment was on hold with the company that provided the transport as Family Stores had not paid them. Finally, they were paid and we were able to clear customs. We then went to schedule the shipment to be delivered to our home. Again, the shipment was put on hold as Family Stores had not paid the company that was hired to make the delivery. After many promises of payments being made ( they were actually payments for previous invoices more than 8 months old) our shipment was still not released. Family Stores stopped responding to our requests to resolve this issue. Do not trust this company for your international moves. UPDATE: After chasing them for 3 weeks Family Stores finally paid their debt to GoTransport and the delivery can finally be made.
Tip for consumers:
This company will quote a very low price. It is better to pay a bit more and receive the delivery of your products and not have the frustration of dealing with their issues.
