I opened a Fidelity account on Tuesday, August 15th after 4 pm with a cashier check from an American bank (Kearny). I am now not able to use my funds till 8/24/23. I cannot link my bank account so that Fidelity can verify me through microdeposits. They allow me to trade with them but I cannot access my money any other way, no check, no money transfer options to other financial institutions. You are just allowed to play with them for 10 business days. I never heard that it takes 10 days for a cashier's check from an American bank to clear.
I tried transferring my 401K through Fidelity to my current employer... four months later and Fidelity has sent me four checks with the same incorrect information. Every time I call them, they have some stupid and invalid excuse and tell me they are fixing it and will send a new check. Here I am four months later and still haven't received a corrected check. Then, they lock me out of my online account and I have called four times today alone to get someone to help me and each time, they give me a new number to call. I finally get the correct number for the fourth representative and they get on saying "they're gone for the day". This company has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever! Steer clear and invest your money elsewhere! I cannot wait to get out of this company for good!
Fidelity has no customer service. I have been trying to transfer 401K funds for months. After four calls, submitting forms and capital call from another fund, nothing.
Whose money is it?
In November 2021, I, as the attorney for the executor of the estate, mailed to the Cincinatti, OH office a letter request for a date of death value letter with all required legal documentation and authorization. I received no reply. In June 2022 I mailed a duplicate letter with enclosures by certified mail. I received the green signature card but no written response. I called several times and each time I had to explain from the beginning what information I needed. In the interim, a date of death value letter from Fidelity was sent to the beneficiary but it had the wrong date of death. Last phone call was extremely condescending to me. It wasn't until today, August 18,2022, that the beneficiary delivered the corrected date of death value letter to me that the beneficiary received. Fidelity still has never replied to my law office and it has been nine months after my initial written request. Absolutely horrible service.
My husband and I are so happy w Fidelity. Could not get in touch w the other company. Did not know

We're so helpful and so efficient.

Eloise and Bill Elbert.
I was rolling over an Annuity. Mistake were made that cost me thousands. Their response was tough luck, close your accounts and go somewhere else. Be very cautious when choosing Fidelity.
My employer Advent Health just switched…
My employer Advent Health just switched from A Light Financial to Fidelity and it's been a disaster! Fidelity's customer service is by far the WORST I've ever experienced in my life and I'm being very serious. They do not even deserve a 1 star rating! I have 2 phone screen shots of being on hold over 2 HOURS each this week. When an associate finally picks up they claim they need to transfer me to someone else and they will gladly stay on the line and wait with me. Not true! They put me on hold again and the process starts all over. I manage my own 401 and 403 Brokerage Accounts and had amazing service with A Light Financial before the switch to Fidelity. Tomorrow I will have to drive across town to have my questions answered and my account unlocked at as Fidelity branch office. It's the only way I know how to resolve my issues. Their Virtual Assistant and live Chat features on their web page are completely useless. Same thing with requesting an E-mail response. I might as well try and ask the same questions to my dog. I would estimate that I have lost $26,000 so far by not being able to unlock my Brokerage account this week! Seriously
I was a client for over 30 years. Fidelity has a clandestine, obnoxious dept. named Risk...known but to God. I made several donations from my cash account to poverty struck Filipinos. "Risk" dept. wackos believed I was being scammed.I assured them I was not and I had free control of my funds. They closed my 525K premium account and disrespected my personal decisions. Stay clear of these dictatorial money grubbers. They are not big in charity concerns. Fidelity only has insular and secret interests. Public be damned.
Have been a long time Fidelity customer. Thanks to the services they offer I was able to close my accounts at traditional banks (use Fidelity Cash Management instead), never step foot in a bank again (all ATM fees reimbursed and checks deposited via mobile app), stop buying Quicken or any other personal finance sofware (use Fidelity Full View online instead), close other brokerage accounts and get expert investing advice online (GPS service) or in person at their local office and manage all my investments, mortgages, bills, rental income, and rewards programs online via Full View. Having lived in 3 different cities since first using Fidelity I have found the folks in the local offices to be very knowledgeable, professional and open to spending time with me when asked. The online and on-site learning sessions cover a wide array of topics, are free and have been informative across the board.
Very Lousy EFT Bank Money Transfer by Fidelity customer service. My money have being held hostage over six-days by fidelity. Very lousy customer service that can't release my EFT fund immediately That I need to use immediately to close on real estate transaction even though the money have been released by the bank immediately days ago. I don't recommend using EFT money transfer at fidelity. Very lousy EFT customer service and I am very disappointed to say the least.
Answer: Expect to wait on hold for 15mnto 30mn and get nowhere when you get someone on the phone.
