I love this site, It has made me smarter and now I know more facts. Yes, the other reviews are slightly true. Some of the editors and the members are hard to work with. Everyone has there bad days though, bad days at there real job, kids stressing them out, etc. $20 for 6 months isn't much at all, I am actually a Gold member and it is well worth it. Highly suggested to try, even your children can play with adult supervision!
There are some fun games on this site but most of the questions are mundane, uninteresting and often, contain inaccurate answers. The real problems with this site are the clique of loser long timers, most of whom call themselves "editors", who clearly have nothing better to do than write inane quizzes filled with obscure facts, while maintaining an iron clad grip on what is published by anyone other than themselves. It is telling that many of these "editors". (What a joke, many of them can't use basic punctuation!) are unemployed, yet they hold themselves up as the penultimate of knowledge! If any of you stupid editors ever read this please consider that when someone submits a quiz or question for publication on this site, it is extremely likely that they know more about the subject than you do.
Companies who cover their entire site with ads that disrupt you from even being able to play on mobile completely kill all sense of enjoyment. Don't get me started on how they focus on their special people for publishing certain quizzes. The entire thing is a joke when the site in '09 actually was good.

The concept and mechanics are great but is being spoiled by the glory hounds who are more interested in winning at all costs and that seriously effects the enjoyment level of users with either physical disabilities or slow computers. Most standings and scores are determined mainly by speed. If you get one question wrong you will end up in the lower part of the standings I do not see how it is possible for an individual to bring up questions read them and then submit all at an average of less than 3 seconds a question.
This game is for you if you are more interested in showing off If you want a fun and learning experience go elsewhere

Gold Membership in Trivia Game site
The editors are strict and that can frustrate authors, but that's what makes the content here so good.
There are thousands of quizzes on every topic imaginable, and the accuracy of the content is surprisingly good for user submitted stuff. That is because editors go over everything before it is released online.
Overall, a great site. There is enough stuff to do here to keep you occupied for 10 years, and then some.
Moderators who have multiple accounts and a web site creator with thin skin... that's Fun Trivia. If they don't like you, you end up attacked or banned. Americans pay the majority of gold memberships while being condemned for creating the majority of the quizzes. Twenty dollars for six months of what? Making the web site creator rich as he uses the questions and quizzes, YOUR hard work, to build his kingdom. You are not permitted to discuss issues unless the mods like you and are willing to turn a blind eye. Face it... the way the world is today... Fun Trivia is 1984 by George Orwell. Can't discuss politics or religion yet there are quizzes about them. If it makes Terry money, and the mods control the players, then it's ok in Fun Trivia. As far as accuracy in quizzes. Considering the number of misspelling words, etc., the editors need to get a clue.
I have played this site for years, I really love competing against people around the world. The only thing that aggravates me is the lack of interest in going after obvious cheaters such as people who get all 15 questions correct in 20 or so seconds. Since there are no prizes to be won, I guess there really is no reason to go after them except it aggravates the heck out of people like me who play the game straight. Why these people cheat on a trivia game (trivia, for heck's sake!) is another question.
I've been a member of funtrivia.com for close to ten years. I don't always have a gold member status, but when I do, $20 for six months is not breaking the bank. Contrary to what the other reviewers want you to believe, the majority of the site is not only available to gold members. Yes, when you get to a certain level in non challenge quizzes, they stop recording your points, but you still get points for the challenges.
These people are disgruntled and it is easy to tell by reading their reviews. If $3 breaks your bank, maybe you should be out trying to work and support yourself rather than looking for websites to play on.
In all my time I have never had an issue with funtrivia. I go there every day, I am a member of a great team and I love going there. This is a five star website all the way.
I have been quizzing on the Funtrivia site for almost 14 years, and I love it. The first year I played independently and it was fun, but after that I joined a team and that was when the experience became most rewarding. I have met people from all over the world and become real friends with many of them. The $38 yearly fee to enjoy gold membership makes FT one of the least expensive hobbies I can imagine.
Taking part in quizzes is easy, however creating them is a nightmare as the so called editors are overly picky and send back so called errors in grammar etc.
They are also extremely rude, I made the mistake of complaining about an editor being excessively picky and this was met with a rude reply.
Often the will send back with changes that need to be made, then when you make those changes they send another message that this change is wrong and suggesting you change it to what you already had put before. They seem to think they are English experts but often their suggested errors are not errors at all. They all seem power mad.
There is a chat/message board section that bans you for silly reasons, usually because you disagree with one of the higher ups.
This site is a rip off and I would not recommend it to anyone.
I enjoy the challenges and making quizzes.
There are two problems
1) The people who run the site are rude (customer service is beyond appalling... don't even bother)
2) Some of the editors are very incompetent. The rules when you start writing quizzes are that you have to be nice and follow what the editors say. I didn't think it would be a problem but eventually it will be. They put that up there because eventually you will want to chew out and/or kill the editors.
A nice site for trivia lovers, but there is obvious cheating going on, and the administrators do little or nothing to prevent it. One player in particular routinely achieves scores that are absolutely impossible, but nothing is done about it. Players are encouraged to write quizzes, but are not given compensation, and quizzes become the property of the website. Some of the editors are real head cases. Still, it is fun to play, and quite addictive.
This website is heavily relating to the US. Quizzes based on tv shows, celebrities, geography, history, food etc a large percentage of them are to do with the US and then a light sprinkle of European quizzes are thrown in. As someone from Thailand I tried submitting a few single questions to do with Thailand and they were all rejected. When I asked an Editor about it they said my questions were 'too obscure', yet they have questions such as 'Who was the 9th US president?' …… right, because US themed questions like that aren't obscure for some people? People who are familiar with Thailand would have easily known the answers to my questions.
This website desperately needs more diversity and culture. It is very US exclusive. Such a shame.
I enjoy this trivia site. The daily quiz is good, wish it was on the weekends as well. And the Trivia Dual is fun. I don't use all the different quizzes and tabs yet since I'm new to it, but I hate to miss a daily quiz. And it's free - can't beat that! No annoying pop up ads or ads you have to sit through before you play.
Tip for consumers:
Enjoy yourself, poke around to the other quizzes, get on the list for the daily quiz reminder.

It's a quiz site, so most of the questions here aren't germane.
You simply cannot contact this site beyond a very narrow range of categories
That brook no follow-up questions especially if the problem you have
Doesn't correspond to the contact-us given titles.
To wit, they have stopped totaling my daily points and
I cannot find out why.
It is a totally AI driven site. No Cust. Svc. Number nor email address number
I am a paying customer and I don't like this arbitrary way of procedure.
I will not renew.
A trivia website where you can play untimed quizzes and crosswords on nearly every subject you can imagine, or play a wide variety of timed games. You can be as competitive or non competitive as you like. All the content is user-submitted, which means the quality of the questions varies, but on the whole it's good. The editors make sure questions meet standards, though the standards were not as high twenty years ago, so you will come across the odd dud. If you play online trivia and think "I could write something better than that!", well, this is place to try that out - write quizzes and crossword puzzles for thousands to play!
I've been a member of FunTrivia for over twenty years, and have watched it grow and improve over that time. I can play as many games as I like, write quizzes and crosswords (or simply play them) and talk with some of the friends I've made there on the chat boards and forums. There is truly "something for everyone", including younger players and oldsters (like me). It is the only site I actually miss whenever I lose internet access.
I have to wonder what the authors of negative comments are looking for. By the very definition trivia is knowledge or information of little value. There is such a wide variety of games and topics you are bound to find something of interest. There are several levels of difficulty so you can find challenge. People cheat. They cheat at golf, on taxes and on each other. Funtrivia is a community of people there will be cheaters like every where else. People can be rude and arbitrary. Play to learn and sharpen your mind and you will love this site. Expect behavior better than you find else where in the world and you will be as bitterly disappointed and get your feelings hurt just as you probably do in everyday life.
I submitted a quiz and the stupid editors were nit picky about it so I quit in rage. Now I can't get back in and they locked my account. This site needs to be taken down. That's not all they did and I asked nicely on Facebook to unlock my account they refused and they have an IP lock on my email address which is illegal. Also they deny their editors are jerks. Before I quit in rage one of them called me a $#*! which is mean and is a Gen X slur they say to Millennials who have Autism to get a rise. Funtrivia will not admit they are in the wrong and they can not control their own staff let alone their volunteer editors.
The editors and moderators on Funtrivia have removed fun from the site. The owner is an idiot. I'm 60 yrs old and I've been a paying member for over ten years and get treated like I'm a child. While an American owns the site and the majority of players are American, the editors are mostly foreigners who dislike Americans. The editors and moderators (PC police) remove long time players comments anytime they wish. The PC police run the site like Cold War Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Vezezuela, Iran, Iraq, and China all rolled into one! The site is becoming stagnant because the owner has let a set group of idiots control who gets to submit questions or quizzes and has given them the power of being an exclusive clique. While most of the new questions are submitted and selected by a clique, the paying members who are being chastised, punished, and banned for daring to complain are beginning to leave for other sites. I will no longer renew my membership. DO NOT waste your time or money.
I have been playing daily on this site for over a year now, and am totally hooked. I pay the Gold Membership fee because it's a great deal, but I still had a good time before I took the plunge. I really don't believe some of the whinging on these reviews and suspect they might be from people on competing trivia sites, or people that just have to complain about something. What some say is cheating is no such thing. The site has been there for something like 25 years and some have been there many years and are bound to be lightning fast on the quizzes they've played thousands of times. You want to see cheating, play the FB trivia games. Lots of cheating over there. Funtrivia isn't perfect, but it's the best I've found in my 7 years of online triviating. :)
This could be a good site except for the power hungry editors. I have been banned for some obscure reason and they said i had been banned before which I had not been. Bunch of idiots spoiling an otherwise good site.
Site is devoted to folks developing trivia quizzes and posting them on-line for others to play.
It sounds like a great concept, but is bogged down by those who handle the administrative details of the site. Some of the editors are good, but a couple (i n particular one in television I've interacted with) tend to make insensitive and inaccurate comments about your submissions, not to mention your entire body of work! (She was quite condescending to me, and I have an Editor's Choice quiz among my body of work there.)
Moreover, the administrators do not know their own rules for among, other things, account deletion:

I advise you to stay away because I dislike poorly managed web sites, but of course, the choice is up to you.
Well its ok I just started and when I made a quiz it kept on getting back and now it has been about 5 days until my next edit and it is so annoying so don't write a quiz unless you are really good at english grammer so annoying. So yeah its a good quiz site but not a really good writing quiz site. I am so annoyed
It starts off fine then the further in you get the worse it becomes The site managers decide on who plays by dividing members into groups based on levels and experience Sounds good but it really means that new entrants into a category become cannon fodder to those already there. There are not that many questions and a lot of repetitive questions or very specific questions that you learn as you go on ( For example what subway station do you get off at to visit a museum? So long time players have a tremendous advantage by basically memorizing the answers through repetitive plays the longer you play the easier it gets Site managers love this because it increases hits and revenue You need a gold membership to get full advantage This may explain why the site advertises 3 million plus members but I suspect that the number of active players is around 5 to 8 thousand So if you want to look good by winning a lot of duels or scoring astronomically high scores by constant repetition then this is your heaven If you want a better selection of questions and be able to learn something go elsewhere
