They go straight to defense mode rather than taking responsibility for their own incompetence.
After the nice customer service person runs out of excuses, prepare for the sounds of silence.

Bought some very pretty aluminum water bottles from here and the ink on them TOTALLY smeared off onto my leather bags. I cannot believe this. It was just sitting there at room temp too. It basically stamped an imprint of whatever was on the bottle onto my bag. Gaiam issued a refund but did not fully refund me for the damage of my own bags which I cannot clean off...
I just ordered some 10 lb hand weights from Gaiam yesterday. I thought they were pricey at about $20 a piece. Then it was $22 for shipping! I placed the order because I was desperate but then found my lost 10 lb weights that I had been looking for, 5 minutes after placing this order. I emailed right away. They emailed me back the next day stating that there is too much volume to cancel orders in process, and that because of COVID, they are not accepting returns. Well no where on their website before placing the order did they make it obvious that all sales were final. I told them that I am disappointed and they would lose my business, and their reply was "sorry you feel that way". Haven't gotten my weights yet, it will be 10 days till I get them. They better be some darn good $62 hand weights! Look elsewhere. Customer service stinks.
We bought a yoga mat which slides (doesn't stick to the floor) while you exercise and leaves foot marks on the mat even in the first try.
They'll accept the return but we already paid shipping and return shipping is the same as the cost of the mat.
The supervisor I spoke to on the phone at Gaiam, was rude, couldn't care for customer and evasive. She even stated that they don't guarantee that the mat will stick to the floor.
Never buy anything from them.
I ordered over $100 worth of equipment at once. The only item I received was a zabuton that was part of a set, and I never received the rest of the set. 4 weeks have gone by and this issue still hasn't been resolved. I wish I knew this would happen. There are other equally affordable sites for meditation and yoga supplies.
Gaiam claims that 100% customers satisfaction is very important to the company. However, in the process of returning the yoga pants because the fit was "strange", I lost more than $20.00 in the process of returning the pants for "company policies". Of course I will never buy anything from that brand again. What company cares for its customers, and at the same time the client loses money. Gaiam, learn from Amazon's customer service, for something is the number one company in the world. There's a reason why Bezos, is the richest man in the world. Until never, Gaiam,! Probably you need more my money than I do!

I'm so sorry but we're no in a position to help with repairs. As stated on the instructions for this item "This product is sold without any warranties or guarantees of any kind and manufacturer and distributor disclaim any liability, loss or damage caused by its use." My apologies!
