They sent me an offer of $130 for my iPhone 8 that was in great condition. I sent them everything and then a week later they send me an email saying there are excessive scratches on the phone. There were no scratches on the phone when I sent it in. They said they would now only give me $50. I told they no chance and had them send my phone back. Looking at other reviews they do this to everyone just hoping you will accept the low ball offer. What a joke.
If you happen to have a teenager and they tell you the phone doesn't stay charged, you don't really believe them and wait a few months to really check it. Sure enough, you have some time during Covid19 to test it. They're right, but you're past the 30 days. You'd think if you backed your products, you might at least give an exchange. Nope. Disappointed.
I received a quote from Gazelle for $46.00 based on my very accurate assessment of the condition of my 3 year old Galaxy S7 phone. My phone was nearly flawless except for slight discoloration of the screen. However, after they received it I got an email from them notifying me that not only would they not honor their original offer, but they now changed the value to zero. They did offer to recycle it for me though at no charge (how generous of them). Needless to say, I demanded they send it back to me. Verizon bought it from me for $32.00. Done deal. Thanks Gazelle for the education. Now I'm on a mission to educate others. Scram from this scam!
I sent my S8+ to them in the box with the user manual, power adapter, power cord and sim key. Basically, everything that i had when I originally purchased it. Gazelle would not buy the phone, which is totally OK. However they only sent me back the phone in a plastic sleeve and kept everything else. I find this so hard to believe that they would arbitrarily just not send these things back. I went to their site to let them know that they left these things out, and they had deleted my account from the site. It said said my account did not exist when I tried to login. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They appear to have no sense of ethics, or professionalism.
I sent them an iPhone 7 Plus 256 Verizon with minimal scratches for an offer of $123. They reported my phone was an iPhone 7 Plus 128 ATT with extensive scratches and offered $48. I rejected their offer.
The process went as Gazelle promised, except for one thing: when they received my device, they initially adjusted their offer downward with the (erroneous) justification that I had sent them a carrier-locked device instead of the unlocked one that I had sent. They paid what they agreed when I challenged them, but they also caused this entirely unnecessary issue.
When Gazelle first started they always gave a fair rate for anything sold to them (bout 4 years ago). I handle our company's cell phone account which is very large (about 500 lines) and anytime I upgrade a deviceI would sell the previous phone to Gazelle, so I used them ALOT. Now they are HORRIBLE. I am very tech savvy and since I work with phones and tablets on a daily basis I definitely know what make/model/GB and how to determine condition. After sending them a couple phones this last time, they tried to tell me that there was excessive scratches and the model of the phone was different than entered. I couldn't help but laugh at the incompetency of whoever wrote that. They obviously had no idea what they were doing because I am 110% positive on the make/model/GB for the phones sent to them and I do not bother sending in damaged devices it's not worth my time. If it's badly scratched or damaged I recycle them. They were trying to find a reason to low ball he price compared to what was quoted. I told them to return my device and I found another site that accepted the devices and actually gave me what the phones were worth. I used to recommend this site to everyone I know for getting rid of previous phones for the best value. Now, this site is a joke. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother.
SCAM! Here's what happened. I sent my iphone 8 to them in PERFECT condition. Not a scratch, dent or problem with the device. I had it in a case it's entire lifetime. They promised me a good price compared to other vendors, but as soon as they received the device, they said it didn't meet their standards and had "excessive scratches" so they gave me a lowball offer, which I regretfully accepted. I wish I fought them but honestly I need the cash and didn't have the time since I was about to travel overseas. What a waste of time this place is. I hope they're all arrested and their profits are confiscated.
"We regret to inform you that we have been unable to fulfill your order ****** and have had to cancel. We apologize for any inconvenience and offer you this free expedited shipping code that you can use on your next order."
I ordered with enough time to get here before my brothers B-Day and they send me this the day before. I've already spent over 1,000 dollars with them and this is how they treat their customers. They gave me free shipping as a result. I will gladly take my money elsewhere.
I have used Gazelle before and didn't have a problem. This time they quoted me $180 for a phone. I ended up with 80. They said they downgraded the phone condition, but this phone looked barely used.
Avoid, there are other options. Also, you have to check your spam folder, apparently Gazelle gets sent there and if you don't check it you won't know you were downgraded and will have no recourse but to accept their decision. I would use another service.
They offered me a certain amount for a pristine iPhone 7. I sent it in and they told me it had scratches on it and reduced their offer by 50%. Yep, bait and switch. I had them send the phone back to me and used Amazon buy back instead. Amazon quoted me a price and made good on the offer. Stay away from Gazelle, they lie in hopes you'll fall for the scam.
They quoted 125$ for Samsung 8, then they told me it had scratches and only offered $75. There is not a scratch on the phone. It's a con game, send me your phone for price x then I reduce it hoping most people will accept the lower offering. Do not do business with them.
They gave me a value of $71 for my used Galaxy S7. I sent it in, and they claimed that it had too many scratches, and reduced the offer to $7. I refused the offer and they sent it back. When I received it back, there was not a single scratch on it. That didn't surprise me, because that phone was in a case the entire time that I owned it.
They were simply trying to lowball me in the hopes that I would just take the lower offer. The only reason I didn't give them one star was because they actually returned the phone without damaging it.
I will use another company from now on.
I believe Gazelle used to be great but ever since they got popular I believe they are cheating customers. My phone had a slight scratch on it, and even though I check that box when receiving my offer, they still decreased my original offer by 50%! What is worse is this company throws away all your packing and accessories when you decline their offer, making it harder for you to sell on another site. Avoid Gazelle at all costs!
I wish I could rate this scam company less than one star in reality. My wife and I went on the site and agreed to send in her IPhone 6+ which they offered $62 for. I also agreed to send in my IPhone 6s which they offered $42 for. Both phones were in new otter boxes the entire time we owned them from the moment we bought them. They were well cared for as everyone knows these things are expensive. We sent them in and they emailed my wife saying the phone has several scratches and the backlight didn't work... we were shocked to say the least. They stated they could not pay her for it and would either return it or recycle it for her... unbelievable! We were dumbfounded. When we got it back and opened the package we went right to inspecting it as when we sent it to them it was absolutely perfect, damn near just like new and we figured it may have been damaged in shipping but nope, it was absolutely showroom perfect when we got it and everything works as it did from day one. I wish I could post pics or a video to show. So then came my iPhone 6s. When I received an email from them they said the same damn thing almost... several scratches except they would still but it for the lowered price of $19. What a joke this place is. I immediately requested it to be returned and again... it was in pristine condition, no scratches AT ALL, near perfect new condition as my wife's. This place is a crooked scam. They give u an awesome initial offer to send it in and then hit you with a low ball or try tell you they cant buy it but offer to "recycle" it for you. They know at this point most people already have a replacement and will likely just take what they can get or just give them the phone to "recycle". What a bunch of scam artists crooks. This place should be ashamed of their tactics and business ethics. I nor any of my family will EVER do business with this company or any associated company of theirs.
All I can say is take multiple photo's of your phone before you send it to them. I sent mine and they dinged me 20% for "scratches". If there were scratches on my phone they were microscopic. It was ALWAYS cased. But I had no proof.
Take pics of yours before you send!
Rip-off
Send perfect iphone6s; once they got the phone they devalued it by over half of their offer. They said "more than the acceptable amount of scratches". There isn't a single scratch on the phone. WASTE OF TIME. I did not accept it and they will send back. Better not have a mark on it. Took photos of the phone prior to sending for my protection.
I got a quote of $303 for my flawless iPhone 7 w/ 256 mb memory. Packed it up in my new phone box and receive an email from them saying there were screen pixel problems and an unacceptable amount of scratches. They asked if I wanted to accept a new quote of $35 (!) or do I want the phone back. Of course I got the phone back, fired it up and the screen is PERFECT. Also, there are NO scratches ANYWHERE! When did this company change their business model to ripping off customers? Very disappointing to be victimized by this once very reliable business. Please don't be scammed but Gazelle.
Something has gone seriously wrong with Gazelle. I previously sold them two iPhones and one iPad. I had no problems in the past with these transactions so I sent them my iPad Air 2. It was in perfect condition, it always lived in an Apple leather case and rarely left my desk. I just wasn't using it, which is why I was going to sell it. I inspected it before I carefully packed it and it was PERFECT. Then Gazelle receives it and lowers their payment by $41 because of a big scratch on the back. A SCRATCH THEY PUYT THERE! You could see from the depth of the scratch that someone pushed it away from them across a table top and some grit put a 6' long scratch parallel to the edge. Probably some summer help carelessly handled it and damaged something I shipped in pristine condition. When I refused their adjusted low-ball offer they shipped it back. Now, I have a scratched iPad. AVOID Gazelle at all cost. They've become careless, unscrupulous and didn't even apologize. They owe me for damaging my iPad, but I'll never see a cent. They probably had too many of that model and didn't want it so they low-balled me after they damaged it, or maybe damaged it so they could low-ball me- I'll never know. Very unethical company.
Answer: No experience with that. Experience with their staff and their customer service, don't fo business with them. My phone was returned in October, and I still have not received my refund. They finally sent me an email saying my return was received, in December but tracking showed it received in October, and still no refund.
Answer: I would not buy from or sell to Gazelle regardless of what they claim.
Answer: No! Dishonest! Had to file a dispute with my credit card company tinged my money back and that took 3 months
