I sent an Ipad Pro 9.7 to Gazelle. I treat my stuff very gently. This piece has been cased since day 1. They cut the offer in half due to excessive scratching and bad pixels. This wasn't my Ipad. I accepted the offer and then the chat agent told me there was nothing further they could do because I had accepted the offer. There were only 2 options available - accept or reject. Will never do business with them again!
I sent Gazelle my Samsung Galaxy S5 when I upgraded my phone. Realized I hadn't heard anything or received my $60, and finally tracked down an email from 30 days ago stating that my phone had been "recycled", but the value of the phone had been zeroed out, so no payment whatsoever. Bastards! Tough lesson for me. Please learn from my mistake. Do not do business w this company!
I was in a bind from my old carrier, I had to pay everything off and leave, I'm so glad gazelle was there to help me in my time of need! I was able to sell my phone and tablet so the change didn't hurt so bad. Everything went off with out a hitch! As soon as I shipped off my products a few days later I had my quote and was able to get max credit for them! Gazelle is an AMAZING service and 10/10 will be recommending to friends and family and strangers in the street! Can't wait to use again!
SCAM! Here's what happened. I sent my iphone 8 to them in PERFECT condition. Not a scratch, dent or problem with the device. I had it in a case it's entire lifetime. They promised me a good price compared to other vendors, but as soon as they received the device, they said it didn't meet their standards and had "excessive scratches" so they gave me a lowball offer, which I regretfully accepted. I wish I fought them but honestly I need the cash and didn't have the time since I was about to travel overseas. What a waste of time this place is. I hope they're all arrested and their profits are confiscated.
This is the second phone I've sold to gazelle and I was very unhappy. I got an email on 7/19 that they'd received the phone. But when I logged onto the website on 7/24, it still said it was waiting for me to send the phone back. So I called, and was given a tracking number. Fast forward to 8/24 when I got a promotional email from gazelle and realized I'd still never received my check. It was mailed out the next day, but if I'd never remembered and called them, they would've never done anything.
Sent two items:
IPhone 6s and an iPad. Pre-delivery estimates: iPhone $11; iPad $98.
Offer after receipt: iPhone $5; iPad $4!
Both items were kept continuously in cases/protective covers.
Phone was stated to be a different model - it was an apple iPhone just purchased from AT&T and had numerous scratches!
The iPad was said to have less than full screen illumination and also with numerous scratches- the screen and unit worked perfectly when shipped with a minor almost indistinguishable scratch!
I called and after a 40 minute hold was finally connected to a service rep.
I was told the iPad may have been damaged during or upon delivery in their warehouse however since I rejected their ludicrous offer they could not re-examine the unit!
Based on their initial diagnosis it was deemed to be only useful for parts!
Quite a scam.
Ridiculous to say the least!
Never going to them again.
I was shocked to see the other bad reviews when I came to write this one. My experience was the exact opposite. I found the site extraordinarily easy to navigate (took me five minutes) and loved that they provided a box and shipping label to send my phone at no extra cost. Within a week of mailing my phone in I received an email that said it had been received and a check was in the mail. The next day I received the check (which, by the way, was more than other sites purchasing used equipment). I don't write many reviews, but when I experienced such great service I felt compelled to write this.
Quoted $90 for my iPhone 5S. This phone has been in an otter box since leaving the store with it a couple years ago. Never once took it out of the otterbox! I finally removed it from the otter box when I was packaging the phone up to send in to Gazelle. I received an adjusted offer due to "significant scratches." There was ZERO scratches on this phone. It was cleaned before packaging to ensure no scratches or blemishes then mailed it in bubble wrap. You should just go ahead and expect that they will make a lesser offer once they receive your phone.
Kudos to Gazelle! Once my phone was received and evaluated, Gazelle offered me even more money than they had originally promised based on the condition of the phone being much better than expected. I can't say enough about a company being that HONEST!
Gazelle sold me an iphone that still had a balance on it. Consequently, my service provider refused to activate it or accept it as a trade in. I paid $400 and can't use the phone at all. I have spent hours and hours over the past two weeks calling Customer Service to get compensated. There is a never a supervisor available. They always say that they will escalate my case and that I will receive a response within 48 hours. That never happens. I will never buy a product from them again.
Beyond disappointing. I submit my pristine iPad Pro for a "estimate" on their website. Get a quote of $185. I send it to them and after more than two months of calling them, get an offer for $90.
It never left the case and did not have a single scratch or crack on it.
I told them I'll take the iPad back. Let's see if they send it back to me.
My dealing with Gazelle was similar to others who have expressed their disappointment when Gazelle claimed "we found some conditions that affected the value of your item. Here's what we found:
Broken or cracked screen/case: We discovered that the case or screen is cracked/broken.
Scratches: We found some scratches that are more significant than expected."
Neither the case nor the screen was cracked or broken as it had been in a case the whole time I owned it. And the scratches were minimal. The original quote they gave me was reduced to less than half. My recommendation for future customers is to make a picture of your device in the packing container and send the picture with the device.
Selling my phone was easy from start to finish! The only thing I had to do was answer a few questions online then take the pre paid box they sent me to the post office. I highly recommend using Gazelle to sell devices.
This is the second or third time I've used gazelle. There are NO surprises. You tell them what you have to sell, they tell you what you they will likely pay you. I have never gotten a cent less than they quoted me. The entire process is easy and fast. I mailed my phone to them on a Monday and I had a check in my hand the following Monday. Super easy. Exceedingly fair.
I can always count on Gazelle to give me the most money for my product. They make the process easy and quick and I don't ever have to worry about anything. This is the way to sell your old phones, tablets and computers.
Love Gazelle! They make it so easy to sell your products, no hassle. I have sold to them twice and they have always agreed with the rating of my phones and checks promptly followed. In fact, the checks arrived quicker than I expected. Thank you Gazelle!
This process went very smoothly. The instructions of what I was to do were clearly written and easy to follow. The whole process from requesting the mailing box to hearing they got my phone and checked out took about a week. Very impressive!
I sent in 2 phones and received an email stating they were increasing my offer due to excellent quality of the phones. Response and payment were very timely which I deposited into my Pay pal account. I highly recommend and would use again.
I submitted a Galaxy Note 8 that had been received from Verizon as a replacement for a phone that was thought to be lost, but was later found. The Note 8 was either new or refurbished and in like new condition. Gazelle offered $160 based on the condition I reported.
However, they came back after their assessment and said:
Screen Doesn't Fully Light Up: We found that your LCD screen has some discoloration, defective spots or does not work properly.
Scratches: We found that the device has more than the acceptable amount of scratches.
The screen appeared to work fine to me and there were no visible scratches or blemishes that I could see before I sent it to Gazelle.
They lowered their offer to $57.
I think this was a bait and switch situation and I will not deal with Gazelle again based in this experience.
I bought an iPhone X as an early Christmas gift this summer. I gave it to my family member recently and the speakers don't work! Which makes the phone almost useless. I filed a claim since I gifted it past 30 days and NO REPLY!;( Next time I will buy on eBay
Answer: No experience with that. Experience with their staff and their customer service, don't fo business with them. My phone was returned in October, and I still have not received my refund. They finally sent me an email saying my return was received, in December but tracking showed it received in October, and still no refund.
Answer: I would not buy from or sell to Gazelle regardless of what they claim.
Answer: No! Dishonest! Had to file a dispute with my credit card company tinged my money back and that took 3 months
Gazelle has a rating of 2.3 stars from 1,076 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Gazelle most frequently mention customer service, perfect condition and screen protector. Gazelle ranks 7th among Consignment sites.
