Bought the Iphone 6s from them. Great experience. Tried to upgrade through our carrier and they told us they wouldn't take the trade in as the phone was listed as being stolen or lost. (first "what the?") Sent it to Gazelle for a cash out and they said "Unpaid Balance on Financed Device: We discovered that this device is financed through your wireless carrier and still has a balance. Your device must be fully paid in order to sell it." (Second "what the?") How in the flippin' name of all that's good can a phone they sold me have a balance from my carrier? So my phone that was worth 170 is now worthless... Super shady folks. Just saying.
Sent them a samsung s23plus, green from T-Mobile paid off immediately, phone was unlocked with no scratches, cracks, and with unpacked charger cable. They offered $547. Just got offer of only S270 because the claim phone was not as described. I have pic of phone, pic of serial number, that it wax T-miobile and unlocked. Gazelle stated they lowered price because network was not T-Mobile, but other. Apparently, techs or inspectors don't know what they are talking about or they're trying to rip me off.
Watch out for these guys, I will NEVER use them again.
They revised my offer of $200 down to $0 after they received the phone - so they got a good as new iPhone 6S and I got nothing.
Never again, this company can't be trusted.
They offered $247 for my ipad (in super clean condition)
Then they received it, said there were light scuffs on the screen, and lowered the offer to $47!
I said rejected the offer and said send it back to me!
Bit of a bait and switch operation I fear
I am not one to sell things in the traditional manner. Gazelle is a great viable option for me. I also like the fact that I had the option to chose amazon gift card as an option for receiving the funds. By choosing this method I receive addtional funds.
I am amazed at the price Gazelle paid for my working-but-less-than-perfect electronics (iPhone and MacBook Pro). Fast, easy, seamless process. Quick payment, got a bonus for taking payment as an Amazon gift card. FLAWLESS!
I've sold a few phones to Gazelle. Good prices (better than what the carriers would give me in trade-in value) and an easy process. I always exchange for an Amazon gift card, which gives more value and is super convenient.
I treat my phones really well, and have wondered, from time to time, if I could get away with calling their condition "like new" rather than just "good" on Gazelle, for the higher trade-in value. But I always go with "good." This last time, after I sent in my "good" phone, GAZELLE decided it fit the higher condition, so actually RAISED MY OFFER. This made me happy (more money, yay) but also made me think they're honest businesspeople.
After accepting the device, the company didn't pay for the trade-in or answer emails to customer support regarding the issue. It wasn't until the issue was exposed on various social media platforms that Gazelle finally paid, nearly a month after the device was accepted.
Sent them an iPhone 8 in perfect condition. I don't mean "good" it did not have a single flaw. Gazzelle said they would give me $116 for it. After I sent the phone to them they said the phone had an unacceptable number of scratches and changed the offer to $0.00. They said they would recycle it. Or I could have them send it back. It's a scam no way they would destroy a perfect phone.
I sent in two phones, both in good working order. They lost one phone and then tried to say I sent in an entirely different phone. I filed a complaint in which they reported I would get a follow-up. Well, I did not. I did however get a follow-up offer stating that the phone I sent in had a cracked glass and too many scratches so it was only eligible for recycling. That is not the condition of the phone when I sent it in. I can only believe they are not careful with the phones or are just scamming us to make additional profit. I will never use gazelle again!
Gazelle gave me an great offer for my iphone 7. It wasn't even 2 years old, and was flawless- had a screen saver and cover since purchase. I reset the device and removed the sims card. Gazelle emails me that the phone was not as represented- that it had scratches and "flaws", and was "un-locked"- not a Verizon phone as I had indicated. They then made me an offer of 1/3 the original offer. I had them send the phone back, and promptly sold it through another site for close to the original offer. Stay away!
Bait and Switch
Gazelle is a total fraud! I got an offer for a 4 month old iPad 10th generation, still with AppleCare+. It was for $311, which is basically equal to the selling price on eBay, minus fees. The iPad was immaculate, as it has been kept in a case, its entire life. After holding onto the iPad for over 10 days, I received an offer of $205, claiming that there were "an unacceptable amount of scratches on it. This is Gazelle's business model— make a decent marketable offer, and then lowball the offer, claiming that the device is damaged. Read all of the reviews of Gazelle, before doing business with them. There is no phone number to discuss the situation; all there is offered is digital communication. Expect the "buy low, sell high" business structure from this unscrupulous company!
Bad bad company theye will never send all good working phones, theres all always at least 40% that dont work when you call them they will say we will give you credit of less than 5%. Dont never buy from them
Gazelle is a good service, but when they have issues with recving multiple boxes/items - the customer service is annoying. I spent 2 weeks having gazelle say they cant find items i shipped. BUT - they did finally find them and paid as promised. I will use the service again
Sent in my s21plus to gazelle with an offer of 487 dollars
The phone had been in a uag case since new.
After gazelle inspection new offer was 175 dollars due to large amount of scratches.
Totally not true phone was in like new condition but a 300 plus drop in value?
Sent my i phone 6 as instructed and after a month of no money i emailed them and got no response. When i investigated on their site track my payment they said its being recycled and no money. Total bull$#*! the phone still worked! I just got a i 7 because the screen was broken on the i6.
I originally sent my iPhone 5s to Amazon. They rejected it because it was too scratched for them. I mean there was some wear, but it worked fine. After I received it back, I decided to send to Gazelle. I sent it in, marked the condition as Fair after my Amazon experience, only to be told that the phone was broken. When I sent the phone to Gazelle, it was in fine working condition. I'm sure it got damaged either on the way, because they make you send it in flimsy packaging, or someone working there fried it. I'll never use them again.
They gave me a value of $71 for my used Galaxy S7. I sent it in, and they claimed that it had too many scratches, and reduced the offer to $7. I refused the offer and they sent it back. When I received it back, there was not a single scratch on it. That didn't surprise me, because that phone was in a case the entire time that I owned it.
They were simply trying to lowball me in the hopes that I would just take the lower offer. The only reason I didn't give them one star was because they actually returned the phone without damaging it.
I will use another company from now on.
I tried to buy a phone through gazelle and my card was denied because it said it was fraudulent. I thought that was strange, so I tried a second time and got the same message that it was denied because it was fraudulent. I moved on and just bought a phone elsewhere. I later noticed that my bank account had been charged for BOTH times I tried but was told my card was denied. I then got a confimation for only one order that had been denied. I called customer service and they said it *should* be refunded into my account in a few days, but would not give me a positive answer. I told them they should make it more clear that when a card is denied for fraud, the transaction could still go through and they told me it was MY FAULT for not contacting them when the card was denied. This is absolutely absurd and I will nevertheless buy from gazelle again after this experience.
This company is disgusting and should be shut down! Sent in pristine iPhone and was quoted a price-withoutmy knowledge or consent they downgraded my phone to a poor rating and paid me 1/4th of the initial quote-I asked that my phone be returned to me and they said "sorry, already sold."
It took a lot of effort on my part which included sharing my story with friends in the tech industry (who then shared my story) to get the balance due on my initial agreement. It wasn't the money-it was their dishonesty that got me angry.
Never again-I through my old iPhones in a drawer or trade in to Best Buy-they had a great buy back deal this summer
Answer: No experience with that. Experience with their staff and their customer service, don't fo business with them. My phone was returned in October, and I still have not received my refund. They finally sent me an email saying my return was received, in December but tracking showed it received in October, and still no refund.
Answer: I would not buy from or sell to Gazelle regardless of what they claim.
Answer: No! Dishonest! Had to file a dispute with my credit card company tinged my money back and that took 3 months
