After ordering, confirming and receiving a thank you email from the recipient, we both got emails telling us the order was cancelled. The only explanation was lame, due to security reasons, they cannot disclose why it was cancelled. How embarrassing for me! The email communications felt like an automated system event though it said it was a live person. The responses never answered my questions directly, it felt automated. Now, I have to wait 10 days tos ee if the refund will even be processed! This has scam written all over it! Stay away from this company!

Hi there,
This gift was canceled by our security team and you will not be charged. Due to the way GiftRocket is regulated, we're unable to share the reason why this gift was canceled.
I was very pleased when I received a gift card via email from a co-worker. I started to wonder how much trouble and if it would be a hassle to redeem it. With gift rocket, that was not the case I was able to use it on so many different platforms or even just deposit it into my bank. I think that is super awesome!
I plan to use "Giftrocket" for Christmas and birthday gifts.
I bought this as an xmas card for my son and to help local business during the pandemic. The $30 PLUS $3.50 fee went out of my account but I never the received the receipt I was told I would be emailed. I contacted their customer support. 3 days and no answer. I subsequently checked the reviews, as I should have done beforehand and saw there was possibly a bait-and-switch scam behind giftrocket, in that recipient might go to redeem the "gift card" at a local store/restaurant only to find they are given an alternative like Walmart instead. If that's so, then it's false advertising, or at least super-misleading. Beware.
Good idea in concept, if we were in the year 2008. Hefty charges, misleading affiliations, and really crappy customer service.
My boss got me a gift card a few weeks ago, he didn't realize he was buying a money transfer with a designed "e card". Customer service did eventually get back to him regarding the fees and slow money transfer/options.
Overall crappy experience, and will not use again. I am surprised this company even exists. If it were not for the false affiliation through yelp, we never would gotten this.
As a recipient I'm so impressed with the versatility of this gift. During a very tough time I received a Gift Rocket and could choose what was most helpful to our family whether gift card or just cash in my bank account!
Complete scam. The advertise gift cards to anything your searching for and even sends you to a screen where you can print out your store of choice withe a gift code redemption. When you go to redeem they really don't offer your previously selected store. They offer a direct deposit (yea right like I'm going to give them my bank and routing number). I did not see anything I really wanted so I selected apple itunes gift card. Shortly after I receive an email indicating it was on the way electronically. Then I get an email from gift rocket crooks indicating the transaction was stopped by there security team. Giftrocket.com is a complete sham. Avoid.
Note that this does not work like a regular gift card. You must supply your bank info and the funds are to be deposited into your account. (odd, but ok)
The funds never showed up for me. Upon digging, they were appeared to be deposited into the wrong account (not mine). They sent me a tracking number that my bank cannot trace. I cannot get a phone number or anyone via e-mail to tell me their name. That question is ignored and all e-mails are signed "GiftRocket Support". They're sending me around in circles. It's been weeks.
GiftRocket is sketchy AF and at this point, I don't think I will see the money.
GiftRocket makes sending money smart and easy. Giving the receiver options on how they would like to receive their money, via gift card or sent straight to your bank account!
Definitely would recommend it!
Literally the worst, at first you think your getting a specialized gift card, when in fact they just send the recipient money and take a hefty service fee of roughly 15%! In a day and age where Venmo exists, this is literally a terrible business. Shame on them for deception.
My nephew bought us a gift card as he too thought GiftRocket would work at my favorite restaurant. Like many other comments below, that is a common misconception (the 'trickery' part). I was wary about giving my bank account info out, so opted for a gift certificate at a place they did provide. I was doubtful it would work, judging from other comments, but it actually worked just fine. I would not use this system again, as its just as easy to get a Lowes gift card from Lowes without the uncertainty.
We were given a gift rocket gift card from our daughter for the help we gave her to care for her new puppy! A gift rocket gift card was perfect because it allowed us the option of literally tons of places in which to use it. Deciding where to use it was easy, fun and super helpful!
I would definitely suggest using gift rocket as an option to give which allows the person to select when and where to use their gift card!
It's a great idea for tricky people since they offer lots of gift carts to choose from but The redeeming menu is not great. It only shows you the most popular cards but gives you the option to search for the one you want so I recommend looking at the gift cards on their website and choosing something in advance. Since everything is done through email it also takes time to get all the email needed in between getting the gift, redeeming, and getting a usable code.
I recently wanted to send someone a gift card to In N Out Burger and desired to make it available, to them, immediately; rather than waiting. Moreover, GiftRocket allows the recipient to send you a thank you message; which was a nice touch.
GiftRocket made all of this possible. It's a seamless experience and they had the benefit of using the gift card immediately. This was my first experience, nevertheless, I will definitely be using their services again real soon!
I've been using Giftrocket for a while to send gifts... they have nice designs for every occasion, and judging by all the thank you notes, everyone seems to really like them on the receiving end, too!
I have been having enjoyable experiences with the results of GiftRocket. Thanks. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone. If you are in doubt just check it out and see your results yourself. If you don't like it, there is no loss on anyone's part.
Seems cool, send someone cash through an email. It's not as easy to use as it seems though. It takes almost a week for cash to credit to your account (it's 2015, come on, next day transfers are a thing) Really, overall, it's just annoying. You might as well send a card in the mail and then text them and say "Hey, I sent your card, you'll have it in 4-5 business days." Plus the sender pays $3 in fees, which sucks. Square cash app is much cooler and instant. Or, odds are, your bank's mobile app has a send cash function that works better.
Great concept if they did as advertised. They claim if you transfer to your Paypal account that it will take only one business day. I am now on the third business day and no money in my account. Wrote to support and no answer yet. Will not use them again. This is how companies go bankrupt. Bad service and pissing off too many customers. If its going to take 3 to 4 days say so. Dont advertise something and dont deliver.
My father gave me a gift card with the intention that I use it at one of my favorite restaurants, but as it turns out I only get to redeem for a gift card at one of 56 (mostly terrible) options. Or I can fork over my bank details for direct deposit (I'm to trust a small company with securing my account AND routing number? No thanks!) Very misleading.
Fee was 5% plus $1, which also makes this unattractive compared to say a Visa gift card, which can truly be used anywhere and has a flat fee which works out to be a smaller percentage of most gift amounts anyways.
Avoid.
Any posts with positive reviews were by the company, itself. If you buy a giftcard, you will get an email asking for the recipient's bank account. Do not use the company. They are scammers who can only continue to exist because there are not enough laws to protect people from online scams.

It was great at first. I had several friends send me Birthday gifts and Thanks You's. Then for Easter my friend used her American Express to get me 100 dollar card. I transferred it to my Paypal as usual. It never showed up even though I had "redeemed" it. It took forever for customer service to get back with me and even then it was a short email saying I needed to find another service provider for my transaction. Really? An EASTER gift card. I asked for a reason why. No response. I had recommended them in the past but never again. They lost my business and that of several others. Stick with Amazon or someone who knows how to provide great customer service.

Hi Carl,
Sorry for the confusion here! Please drop us an email at support@giftrocket.com and we can always cancel/refund the gift or at least refund the service fee if this wasn't the intention of the sender.
As a note, we like our cash gifts with a suggested use WAY better than regular gift cards in part because there's no certificate to carry or risk losing and never any leftover or unused funds, all with the personal touch of a gift card/greeting card.
We do use the most up-to-date, bank-grade encryption technology when dealing with personal information, as well.
Sincerely,
GiftRocket Team
