This was our "Next of Kin" first Gig Salad gig, and it was a good one (5) stars from our purchaser, and (5) stars from us to Gig Salad. It was sooo seamless, and a smooooth, pleasant experience for us. All we had to do was submit a Quote (that was excepted) and Gig Salad handled the rest. They even sent us reminders of things to remember to do prior to the gig, which was very helpful. Our gig was on a Saturday, on the following Monday our money was in the bank. I have never used gigsalad before to book someone but after reviewing different artist and watching some videos on youtube
I was so pleased to have found him.
He came on time for setup and tuned up his guitars, he had a great personality and a beautiful voice.
The party started at 12 pm on Oct 3,2021at the Seastar ball room in Riverhead ny
I was so excited to finally meet and hear him play.
Well I must say he was INCREDIBLE!
From start to finish
His song list was perfect and he made my daughter's baby shower a hit.
I had so many compliments on how amazing he was.
I can't wait for the next party to have him play again.

For 2 months Chef Charles and I have been planning this dinner party for 14. He said he would arrive by 3pm yesterday and have appetizers ready at 5:30pm. At 3:30 I texted him, no response. At 4 I left a voice mail. Then at 4:07 he texted that his van broke down and he would give me a refund. Great, but what am I going to feed 14 people? I contacted GigSalad but still haven't heard back from them.
He left us in such a bad situation I can't believe it. I will NEVER use GigSalad again. WHAT WAS I THINKING? I am going through personal referrals and face-to-face interviews. The chef did not seem flakey, he had a website. That website is gone now. Wish I could give them zero stars. I am SO angry. Please don't try to use them.

Thankfully you booked through the platform and we were able to process a refund for you - if booking directly with the vendor you may not have gotten that money back. I know this doesn't fix the disappointment of your ruined dinner party, but we take instances like this very seriously. I am a performer and have been on Gig salad approx 2 years (or there about) and I decided to go with the "Free" membership with the intentions of upgrading to a paid membership once I got a bit more familiar with the site and what they had to offer in the way of leads. Fast forward to the present and I have received less than a handful of leads and NO GIGS! And needless to say I have not UPGRADED to a paid membership. From all I've read about GC the paid members get very little action as well. GS blows hardcore!
My suggestion to performers is market yourself in other ways and for those looking for entertainment do the research yourself to find what your looking for in your area. GS blows hardcore!

Lots of requests where the "client" doesn't leave a phone number and never reads your quote or response. The inquiries seem fake. There are many better ways to market your company.

I moved to Austin, TX 3 years ago. The music scene was genuinely intimidating to a newcomer. Gigsalad was recommended by a friend and I hopped on. Excellent idea. My band and I almost immediately began pulling bookings for private parties, corporate events, weddings and a lot of opportunities to even perform our own music.
The fact that you control your own quotes directly with the client makes it easy to grow and thrive at your own pace. In our case we started with a small PA and lighting system that was appropriate for backyard parties and small events. Thanks to the continued work we got from our gigsalad events we were able to reinvest in our infrastructure to include trailers, stage modules, PA and lighting systems and even a band vehicle leading to bigger, better paying opportunities.
I'm very grateful to the gigsalad platform. Their rates are quite reasonable, considering the potential and I keep food on my table largely because of this terrific service.

Bob Dasher (AKA) CRUISING SANTA... was the Santa we hired for our family Christmas Party this year and he was the best Santa we have ever had. He was not in a hurry and just rushed thru the kids which is important to children. He and Mrs. Claus were right on time and the kids loved him. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a Santa for their party.

Gig Salad has meant the difference between Santa having a busy calendar (two months) and having a packed calendar (more than I could handle). I have been with gig salad for more than five years and have watched my client base grow and grow. The Santa experience basically has a life span od only two months (November and December) however the requests that come in spread themselves over the entire year. I have seen a definite shift in when the requests are received. When I started with Gig Salad (and also with me being a Texas Santa) I got maybe 100 requests for my services and finalized about ten. As each year passes I get more and more repeat clients who also happen to get first pick at my calendar. Gradually that has increased. Last year, I had 59 firm engagements in November and December but I also had answered more than 1000 email requests for both 2018 and 2017. It is now the end of August and today, I have 25 firm engagements. Granted, at this point many of my engagements come from local talent agencies and word of mouth customers however gig salad always provides me with the hard to find engagements that each year fill the holes in my schedule. They make the difference between a good season and a great one. They also are constantly trying to improve what they offer. Last year they added a way to answer requests with responses that you can pre-can, saving you time in responding. This year they now can recognize requests that you receive that conflict with times you have already determined are already committed, another time-saver.
I would highly recommend the folks at Gig Salad... 5 stars
