I designed and ordered a pair of Girotti shoes. The website is awesome, very easy to use, and what a fun idea to get to create your own shoes! My order arrived to Canada sooner than expected. The shoes looked beautiful, very well made, no defects, exactly as expected, but they did not fit right on my feet. I asked for a return and remake with a changed model and size and got it approved. My new pair came to Canada in a month time, and they are gorgeous and they fit perfectly. The support person also asked that I donate the first pair to charity rather than return it. I am very happy with my shoes and with the level of service! I will definitely buy more shoes from the one and only Girotti.

Purchased a pair of boots which took over two months to arrive. Received them yesterday and they are the cheapest boots I ever own. Paid over $400.00 Canadian for a pair of boots that are worth maybe $100.00. My bad for not doing my research prior to ordering. This is why I am doing this review so others can learn rom my mistakes. SCAM SCAM SCAM Stay far away from this company. That is all I have to say...

I have nothing good to say. I measured my feet per their requirements, the shoes arrived and were PAINFUL--the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever purchased. I ordered the shoes on April 11, they arrived on May 9, Girotti told me to re-measure and they would send another pair. I informed them that I needed the shoes for an event on June 4. They were completely uncooperative and insisted that they only send me another size. The REFUSED TO REFUND my money. I am working with my credit card company to resolved the payment issue.

DO NOT BUY SHOES FROM GIROTTI!

The shoes that I ordered are decent quality but the colors on their website are different from the product I received and their customer service is not good. Their return policy basically doesn't exist & when I tried to communicate with them they tried to figure out any way they can to not solve the problem. I wanted the shoes but the color was so ugly I can't wear them with anything I have. They're not interested in making it right either. All I wanted to do was to exchange I'm not even asking for a refund I'm asking for something with a reasonable color that could go with my wardrobe instead of the muddy rusty yucky dull orange color that doesn't even match the bright vibrant color on their website that I thought I was buying. Now their customer service is ignoring me after they asked me to send photos of the shoes in daylight which I did. I'm getting radio silence now & for the price that I'm paying I can't believe how they're just ignoring me. Definitely won't be ordering from them again. What a shame.

HORRIBLE PRODUCT; HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. This was easily the worst online, overseas purchase I've ever made. The shoes arrived with the stain on the sole missing and scratched off. On day 2 of wear, the chain broke. I MISTAKENLY IMPLIED to them that I would have my cobbler fix the stain because the shoes took not 2 weeks as promised, but 2 months. When the chain broke on day 2 of indoor wear I emailed that I wanted a refund which was sharply rejected. I spoke with Catherine in customer service and she flat out wouldn't reason with me or let me speak to a manager. I actually doubt this is an authentic European Italian company but rather a front for something else. Proceed with caution with your online purchases; all that glitters isn't gold. (***My pictures were taken after 2 days of wear, 4 days after I received them)

I prefer to shop in physical shops but when my sister told me about Girotti and couldn't resist and order one pair of ankle boots. I was so excited to design them and sooooo happy when they arrived. My husband someties makes a jokes because I alway wear only them ( and believe me I have soo many pairs... :D ) Can't wait to order again!

I should have read the reviews first. Live and learn. I emailed the company the note I posted below. I wore them from my apt to my neighbour's for a 3 hour ladies gathering walking on mostly carpet.

My advise - NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, get shoes from this company. They are only out to make money, not give you the best shoes or service. They say 'Free Delivery and Return' on their website very prominently, but don't tell you it's not a free return, it's a free exchange instead. They expect you to read their website for this. The thing is, most people don't. As a person who shops online in the US, 'Free returns' means 'Free Returns. It certainly does not mean 'Free Exchange'. Their customer service is poor.

Know too that it's a 14-day return, whoops, EXCHANGE, not the normal 30-day supposed 'Return' and given the shoes come from Italy it takes awhile.

I got my shoes and they turned out big. One didn't look like what they showed on their website. Their chart box is not user-friendly at all and I am still not able to figure out my size.

Only 2 arrived and too big, and the lady told me to wait for the 3rd. I needed to use the shoes for a wedding and had to buy new shoes. The customer service overall was most unhelpful. They didn't listen to me, refuse now to take back my shoes which are too big for me! Horrible service.

Don't buy shoes from them!

If you have normal feet, you're going to want to take a pass on this shoemaker. I've ordered 4 pairs of shoes. Two pair fit "okay," although the quality of the material is just so-so.

Two pair appear to have been made for people feet like pencils, and unless you like feeling like all your toes have been squished into one, then, well, these shoes aren't going to be okay for you.

After all the time it took to get them, too, I'm never going to bother with them again. I'm trying to stretch the two pair that don't fit as much as I can. But it won't surprise me if I just have to throw them away.

Only shoes where I could order them in "Extra Large" width fit, and even those are a little tight. I knew the other two pair were narrower (no "Extra Large" width option), so I went with a larger size. In the picture, I'm holding my finger where the very end of my toe is. I had a hard time getting my feet in, even with a shoe horn. And if I'd gone any larger, I would have looked like those guys from Medieval times with the big long pointy-toed shoes.

Tip for consumers:
Keep looking, unless you have pencil-shaped feet.

You DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT these shoes, or the bull$#*! company that sells them. Not remotely worth the price, the product is extremely poorly made despite the promo photos. Any e-commerce company that welcomes you "into the family" must be immediately suspicious. Three month wait, for a total disappointment in quality. The "pro" reviews are plants. DO NOT BUY FROM GIROTTI!

If I could give zero stars they would be the front runner. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BE FOR BUYING. They are dishonest and are only out to make money. The shoes are not custom made and they are not made in Italy. They are made right here in the USA. No imported leather, actually, its not even leather. Simply trash. Scam artists.

DO NOT BUY

Purchased custom brogue boots in Nov 2019 with advertised 2-week shipping. Shoes did not arrive until late January 2020. Boots were DEFECTIVE in craft with unsightly pen marks and stain smudges and were not made to size specified.

Advertised free returns but had to pay out of pocket $62.96 USD to return as they refused to provide prepaid return label within return window.

Shipped return in February 2020. Tracking shows received by customs in Milan February 22 2020.

Discussed remake options with Ellie - she determined they would not do a remake and would issue immediate refund and reimbursement for out of pocket return shipping costs. That was May 2020.

As of June 13, no refund or reimbursement for out of pocket return shipping costs received. Contacted customer service and was again told by Ellie that she would instruct her accounting department to immediately issue a refund and reimbursement for out of pocket return shipping costs as promised.

As of July 30, still no refund receive or reimbursement for out of pocket return shipping has been received. Just found the original shoes on my doorstep marked "return refused" on July 2nd 2020 meaning it was 4 months after shipping it back before they refused it - package was never opened or inspected by Girotti (I put a security mark between layers of tape which was not disturbed).

Ellie has lied repeatedly about issuing a refund and reimbursement for return shipping costs. I have reached out repeatedly and Ellie continues to lie with assurances she was directing her accounting department to issue refund/reimbursement.

Zero rating. It took two months to get shoes and they look nothing like what is on the website. Buyer be aware. No one answers the phone number that is listed on the website.

BEWARE! As a Consumer Psychologist, I am truly committed to informing other consumers about both rogue traders and those that are exceptional. Girotti International: girottishoes.com unfortunately sit in the 'rogue traders' basket. They promise you the world... take your money and never deliver. I have had numerous communications from them in relation to a pair of shoes I ordered nearly 3 months ago. Their T&Cs say they are delivered between 1 and 2 weeks after order by UPS. They have written to me on several occasions saying the shoes have been posted and when asked for tracking information, they never reply. One communication said they'd sent them by Royal Mail. They constantly lie to you saying they are posted and will be delivered the following week. JUST DON'T BUY FROM THEM. I have currently opened a case against them in PayPal and will now report them to the Traders Association and every other consumer body and social platform in order to protect others from their misleading and dishonest business practices. Consumers are really losing faith with purchasing online as there's nearly always a level of deceit and misfortune. It's companies like this that create distrust in the market place especially with online shopping. AVOID!

1. Fraudulent business: Their only goal is to bait you into submitting the order. Once you are charged, the business is over. Every product on their website shows that the orders are delivered to USA within 1-2 weeks. In my case, they had not even shipped the order within 14 days. So, I requested them to cancel the order but they did not listen. Instead of providing "FedEx Express" shipping as mentioned in the email receipt, they shipped through a slow carrier. As a result, I received the order 42 days later by when I had to purchase an alternative. I made multiple return requests and sent so many emails. But, they were adamant in informing me that they do not accept returns unless the product is defective.

2. Deceptive advertising: Their website shows a deceptive "Free shipping & returns" tag which may mislead you into thinking that you would be able to return the items if there is any issue. Yes, you will be able to submit the return requests just to find those rejected! I regret I turned around from other overseas merchants who mention their honest shipping time but was lured by Girotti's fraudulent advertising.

3. Product quality: Their shoes are nothing special. I ordered "MEN'S LUXURY DRESS SHOES 7226" which was hurting my ankle due to being made of stiff leather. I visited Johnston & Murphy and noticed quite a similar shoe made out of much more comfortable leather. That one also had a lesser price tag.

4. Product Description: Their products look very shiny and vibrant when worn by their models. In reality, the products are not.

5. Irresponsive and adamant management: The Hotline number they provide is not attended to. I tried during USA business hours on multiple days but never got a response. The management is so dishonest and stubborn that they do not even want to negotiate a bit for their tremendous shipping delay and fraudulent advertising.

Tip for consumers:
Do not be fooled by the unverified reviews on the Internet and lose your hard-earned money on them. You will regret it like me!
