I booked 2 tickets from South Africa to France on Air Algerie through Gotogate in about June 2024. Flight departing mid September. The flight was cancelled by the Airline on 17 August. Their refund policy stated 15 working days. This was 6 weeks ago and no refund has been received. The reason now given is that I was a "no show"! There are currently no Air Algerie flights to South Africa, so it would be difficult to be a "no show" if there are no aircraft! Gotogate keep fobbing me off with excuses. My advice - do not book through Gotogate if you want a refund if the airline cancels the flight. They should just be transparent and tell you upfront - no refunds on this flight for whatever reason. I am going to pursue this further.
Myself and my wife booked flights worth £1790 last night. They did not go through in the first credit card transaction due to issues with authorising from the bank but went through second time and were in my pending transactions.
I phoned Gotogate today to confirm and was informed the payment had not gone through so I proceeded to book again a few hours ago.
Now the payments have gone through twice and I have two bookings.
Phoned Gotogate explaining and asking them to cancel the duplicate ones I booked only a few hours ago and told it would cost me £500. This is absolutely crazy, surely there is a "cooling off period" and also do the decent thing and admit they caused confusion and refund us. It's really dodgy customer services. Looking into ways we can escalate this higher but would be eager to have any advice on the situation.

Beware: this company DOES NOT offer a cancellation insurance! After a 30 minute phone conversation with their representative from India, I finally learned that their cancellation "certificate" is not the same as a typical insurance. I am not able to cancel my flight of $1,000. My flight isn't for 2 months, and I am hoping that this company will at the very least stand behind their "flexible ticket" option that I paid $122 for, so that I can reschedule. At this point I'm not sure I can even trust the rescheduling policy. Regardless, it is too late for me. I have to continue to work with this company, even though they will scam you through the fine print in their policy. Please stay away from GoToGate and use a reputable agency like Expedia or Kayak.

My fight was canceled, and they did nothing to help me reschedule. I ended up paying out of pocket to get home. GoToGate took no responsibility. A 60-minute phone call with their customer service ends with a "my-manager-will-back-to-you" email (which goes no where).
Booked an internal flight in Canada as part of a trip, which for obvious reasons, was cancelled. Go To Gate have refused to answer my emails, or my attempts to contact them via the online form on their site. The only contact i have been given is to tell me that i have to rebook my flight, which is obviously not possible. They are refusing to contact me to discuss any kind of a refund.
Absolutely avoid this nonsense third party ticket company in future; TravelUp, BA, Hotels.Com, Canadian Affair, and Air Canada were all a part of the trip we had planned and all (almost) immediately either refunded me, contacted me with refund information, or issued vouchers to be redeemed on a new trip.
This company should not be allowed to operate, they have cancelled flights 9 months after booking, after telling me the flights were cancelled. A quick search proves they are lying as the flights are still operating. Refusing to give refunds for the full amount. Absolutely disgusting company.

Their entire site advertises "24 hour free cancellation on all flights" but they charge you $70 minimum for a cancellation. Customer service straight up lied to me saying the airline does not accept cancellations out-of-window. Only 12 hours had passed since I booked my flight... Yup, the major airline confirmed that they could refund the ticket, but only if my agent contacts them. I communicated this to GoToGate and they kept pretending it was impossible. It's like I was communicating with a toddler. Thanks Kayak for advertising this awful website with a "24h free cancellation" service. Oh, and they try to charge you $20 to book a seat each way - went directly to the airline's site and booked the seats myself for free. Insanity.
Horrible customer service. They sell you offerings and then won't deliver. Their customer service, when you finally get them says all they can do is escalate the case, and you never hear from them again. They took me for hundreds of dollars.

I've been waiting and repeatedly calling to get my change fees refund back (150 $) for 8 month. After more than a dozen phone calls, they actually processed my refund, refunding me 26$ (the price of their flexible ticket insurance)! After calling back, they acknowledged a mistake, said they will escalate the issue, but again refused to provide any timeline for when this issue will be corrected. Every time I call now, they are lying to my face saying the issue will be resolved in 5 - 7 days and nothing happens.

Me and my wife had an unfortunate experience with Gotogate. We tried booking our flight and the site timed out. We did not recieve any confirmation, so we booked with another travel agency. I got a statement from my bank informing me that the had charged my account for $1447. 00 which also was $100.00 more than what they were asking. Come to find out they had sent the confirmation to our junk e-mail. When we called and explained the situation, they refused to give us a refund. There business dealings are very shady and I don't want anyone else to be effected like we have.
Don't ever use this agency, they are not US based company and they claim they don't have to follow US travel laws. I bought tickets with them, but then due to unforeseen circumstances needed to cancel it, they refused a refund even though it was within 24 hour period. Saying that the airline has a non refund policy, even though when I checked with that airline, they do have a 24 hour cancellation policy.

Airline cancelled my flight the same day I made the booking. Airline refunded GoToGate and they refused to release it to me until I payed their "assisted fee" of $21/person. Customer rep was terrible, just repeated lines from a script and said no one in the world could ever waive the fee. Had no choice but to pay the fees as they were holding my money hostage. Never ever using this service again. Will report them to BBB.
So I tryied to book my trip for 10 and the app switched to to the 24 and now there trying to rip me off warning to all they will tell you to call and keep hold for days then they hang up on you with no help now I'm out almost 200 warning to all this is a bad air travel site it should
GOTOGATE is a total scam company. I am totally disappointed and angry…. They have refunded my money back after deducting £30 for flights cancelled by Turkish Airlines for no fault of mine. What's the excuse: processing charges. I have now requested refund of the balance but there is no response. There must be some way to bring this company to court…. AVOID GOTOGATE! And its related companies. The order details had been already furnished to the company several times! Total time and money wasters! The company management hides in Sweden! I booked flights with Gotogate which were cancelled in April due to COVID19. I haven't received a refund nor have I even received confirmation that I'm going to get a refund. I understand the challenges of the current climate, however it's now been 6 months where absolutely nothing has been done about this. I've called customer services and they're not able to assist with a refund but instead insist of charging me a £30 admin fee for their cancellation! I'm extremely disappointed with Gotogate and never want to use them again.
The company is a scam. Customer service is not responsive, replies to messages with a week long delay, no willingness to solve an issue. Service fee and rebooking fee together are a half of the ticket price. They have no dialog with airlines that they presumably work with. Don't expect any help if you get a flight problem.
Beware of this website. I learnt a harsh lesson. My flight got cancelled for technical reasons and airline refunded full amount. I had to run around from pillar to post to get a refund from gotogate. Lots of aggravation and general feeling of helplessness since there is no recourse and you will be at the mercy of this faceless online entity. If you dispute the credit card charge, they will fight it and you will lose. After suffering all this for a long time, they sent a refund less a $45 CAD "handling fee". This website is just one of a number or sites owned by a European travel corporation eTravell and all of them are scams.

I booked a flight with Kuwait Airways using Go to Gate. The flight was rescheduled to a time that fell outside of my allocated time off work. Go to Gate refused to give me a refund and have effectively stolen £300 from me. Representatives at my local Kuwait Airways branch said that had I booked directly through Kuwait Airways, they would have given me a full refund without any problem. I've trying explaining the situation a dozen times to people at Go to Gate, and provided evidence of the change, but they are not willing to behave in a fair way. Avoid them like the plague!

Never use this site. It's 1 star because 0 isn't possible. We booked a flight from Cambodia to Laos and they say the airline canceled the flight. It was not rescheduled. I got no notice from them and found out at the airport. They say they need to ask the airline if I'm welding for a refund for the flight that was canceled! It's been weeks and I still get the run around. While stranded in Cambodia, they offered no support or assistance in getting back. We had to book our own flights that we found ourselves through air asia at the airport. From the reviews I now see online, this is common with gotogate. I figured it was fine since it came up in my search on flyscanner and kiwi.

This would be the last time i use this agency. Totally scam bad service and i mean it i spent over 50 dollar just on phone calls and they never answer. You cant cancel till you call but they never answer. Honestly gotogate is absolutely reticules company. Please everyone dont even think about cheap ticket with them because if anything goes wrong u will never be able to get through them either call or email and i will upload a picture to show everyone how bad they are and am based in japan and this number is japanese number
What a greedy, evil company. Will never use them again! I made a mistake on my booking so that the flight went the wrong way. I contacted support within an hour to cancel the booking, and they refused, even though it would've been simple for them to do. Contacted KLM, who would've been happy to refund me, but couldn't because gotogate had my tickets. BEWARE that you are giving up a lot of rights flying with gotogate, and they are ruthless. No sympathy at all. They have lost a customer for life.

Stay away from gotogate. The website is confusing. Once you have figured it out you are charged for tickets you didn't purchase. Getting a refund is ridiculous. You must first call the airlines to cancel. The airlines then will credit some other credit card that it was used from gotogate. Then you call gotogate and let them know the flight was cancelled. Gotogate will charge $57 dollars cancellation fee and refund you 2-8 weeks later. I cancelled the flight 1 hour after it was done, it took me two days to file a refund. I am still waiting for my refund. It's been 3 weeks. Stay away. Very unfriendly. They are a scam. Trust me.

Had a problem with my booking. Was downgraded and flight was Unconfirmed.
Customer care was poor. Emailed them twice, issue was not addressed. Called them 6 times, was put on hold also. Longest was 30minutes, had to hang up due to the expense.
Issue was never addressed, compensation was never offered. Hotline agent even raised her voice. It seems gotogate does not concern themselves with these problems. It was my problem and I had to contact the airline myself.
I want future customers to be made aware so that they would not make the same mistake of booking with gotogate as i did.

Avoid at all cost. Plain bullies and thieves. They refused to return my money, despite having paid in full from Air Canada on my agreed refund. Air Canada didn't care either of the fact when I told them. It took over one year, legal action on my behalf and countless hours of stress with them telling me they are NOT going to return them at all (they even said that on the phone after I waited for a good 40 minutes in hope I put down the phone).
