I booked 2 tickets from South Africa to France on Air Algerie through Gotogate in about June 2024. Flight departing mid September. The flight was cancelled by the Airline on 17 August. Their refund policy stated 15 working days. This was 6 weeks ago and no refund has been received. The reason now given is that I was a "no show"! There are currently no Air Algerie flights to South Africa, so it would be difficult to be a "no show" if there are no aircraft! Gotogate keep fobbing me off with excuses. My advice - do not book through Gotogate if you want a refund if the airline cancels the flight. They should just be transparent and tell you upfront - no refunds on this flight for whatever reason. I am going to pursue this further.
This gotogate is a dishonest travel company. For their cancellation guarantee, they deliberately crafted the terms and conditions part so as to confuse the consumer. There is nothing written there that states you will be penalized for cancelling the 2nd/return leg of the journey. As a consumer, I searched in detail but I wasn't able to find any wording to determine this fact so I went ahead and purchase their cancellation guarantee, thinking they're siding with the consumer. I was wrong. I will never purchase from this site/company again and I would let everyone know about their dishonest practice.
I cannot believe that in this century, 3 months prior to a booked ticket, I contacted you to help me with my problems which are normal these days: you buy tickets for your honey moon couple of months in advance, and for medical reasons you cannot travel anymore, Gotogate is refusing to help a young couple by reimbursing the money or offering other options! I will post this problem together with your official answers everywhere online! It is a misery! And of course I will start official complains to the European Authorities! Next time I will buy my tickets from different agencies!
I've been waiting for a refund since April, they say they have paid me but its not arrived, they don't reply to messages and I've spent hours waiting on the telephone, I called this morning and I was 161 in the que. I've yet to decide if they are incompetent or crooks?

While I was booking a flight at GOTOGATE, it increased the price without noticing me and confirming. The booking process by GOTAGATE is an intentionally designed fraud.
Cancellation right after booking grabs you all kinds of tax, processing and handling fee! No customer care at all!
Email it will get a response like 'Will take three months processing'. Never seen an immoral booking provider like this.
If you deal with these people you have been warned. They are confidence tricksters and fraudsters. I booked, very carefully as always, for myself and my wife. When the confirmation came back it was for me twice, except that the second name was titled Mrs, what is the chance that I put Mrs and then my name? I will tell you, none.
I contacted them immediately and they wanted 282 euros to put it right. I got in touch with Gulf Air Cyprus and they changed to my wifes name for 41 euros so I still lost that to these crooks. I looked on other review sites and people spoke of the same con trick.
Do not give this company your business. You will regret it. Always. They are horrendous. Their "customer service" is a joke. They do not actually help and seem to think that their customers are not important. Also... the customer service rep flat out admitted that he does not have a supervisor because the company is not structured that way and so there is no one that he reports into.

The company is worst they never give your refund back after they cancelled my flight on February 2021. Its been 2 years and still nothing is happening! So upset! Just go for trusted airlines to book for your flight do not get caught with cheap promotions its probably a bait to keep your money.

Company is a SCAM, plain and simple. Tried to cancel my flight as tickets are literally 50% cheaper now than when I purchased them. My flight is months away and these Indian scam artists (these are the only people you will speak to) not only wont cancel your flight, but have fees on top of fees. On a flight of $848 I was literally losing all of it and likely pay more in fees (they can never get you a straight answer on what exactly will or wont happen). How the hell is that remotely possible?! They cannot even tell you IF you are getting a refund from the airline, for how much, or how much they will take from said refund for their "fees". All they do is pressure you for an answer, will you cancel or not? Umm, I cant give you an answer without getting anything straight from you! These people deserve to rot in hell or worse.
3 weeks before my flight I asked to cancel the extra cancelling cover, but they said the intern policy allows only after 24h the purchase. I asked to see this doc as nothing available online and the said it is just intern policy can't share. By email no one respond, said they are giving priority to the latest flights requires.

I bought a 2 way ticket for my parents and paid 316.58 canadian dollar as a flexible ticket to be able to change the date of return. After 1 month passing me to different people through customer service, they told me I have to pay 700 dollrs more to extend the ticket only for two months.

I did book my trip to Canada and it costs me around 1322 USD. For that. Then I didn't get my visa to Canada so want to cancel my trip one month before my flights. I was trying to call them for 6 times and every time they put me on the hold for 8 hours total. And never get a chance to talk with anybody. Till 3 days before my flights. Finally I get the answer that I can't get my refund for that so I lose 1,322 USD for nothing.
Be careful travelers. If you see this agency with cheap deals that's a trap!

When you go to cancel a flight, they tell you the amount they will refund, but not the difference between the refund amount and the original price. Thereby making it very easy to cancel and have to pay a cancellation fee instead of simply transferring flights. This is very unfair given the amounts of money involved, and is clearly a way to make antsy planners (like myself) pay extraneous cancellation fees. A very dishonest practice. I lost $300 due to the above. DO NOT use GoToGate if you can avoid them.

I bought extra 15 kg laggage on my ticket. When I went to airport to the counter they said your 15 kg is not added to turkish airline system they said contact the travel agency I was calling those scummers for half
Hour no one pickup I was getting late and I threw all my gifts and items in the Bin they said at the counter you have to pat 250 pounds more if you want to take this luggage.
So my advice never ever even don't think about buying a ticket from this Scum gotogate Company.

I bought my tickets 4 month ago. They should refund money and always they denied. Right now I reed all the comments. I believe that this company never pay back the money that should be refunded. Maybe police could solved large amount of this inconveniences.
This company is an absolute disgrace. I have requested a refund as Air Canada have cancelled my flights. I have to go through GoToGate as I booked my flight through them but they are charging £30 to request a refund even though the flights have been cancelled by the airline. They can give me no idea when I will get a refund and were extremely unhelpful when I challenged them on this cost. These are difficult times and this company is making money from other peoples distress. I will never use this company again and if I could have given them 0 stars I would.
Horrible company. Book direct with operators if possible. I booked and paid for an internal flight within the UK. When I arrived at check-in the ticket wasn't valid and had to buy another ticket in the airport. Customer support told me that my order number wasn't valid and failed to respond or refund my payment. £200 down the drain, absolute crooks

Gotogate take your money and then pass you off to the airline for any complications. The airline can't help because the booking is not through them.
But my review is even more serious than that! They cancelled my return flight without telling me - not the airline - Gotogate themselves cancelled my flight due to an administration error at their end! So, I paid again at the airport to fly back on the same flight I was originally booked on and then waited four months for Gotogate to resolve it.
They didn't.
So, I took them to court - and won.
Use them at your own peril.

My tip: Go directly to the airline! Gotogate cannot book seats or meals. Gotogate lie about the circumstances of cancellations and do not want to pay out any refunds. If things get messy take to court.
