I booked 2 tickets from South Africa to France on Air Algerie through Gotogate in about June 2024. Flight departing mid September. The flight was cancelled by the Airline on 17 August. Their refund policy stated 15 working days. This was 6 weeks ago and no refund has been received. The reason now given is that I was a "no show"! There are currently no Air Algerie flights to South Africa, so it would be difficult to be a "no show" if there are no aircraft! Gotogate keep fobbing me off with excuses. My advice - do not book through Gotogate if you want a refund if the airline cancels the flight. They should just be transparent and tell you upfront - no refunds on this flight for whatever reason. I am going to pursue this further.
A few days ago I had to change my ticket's date. Keeping in mind I had a flexible ticket. Gotogate didn't pick us for two days. No answer. The calls (5 times I called to be exact)would repeatedly hung up. Had to change the date urgently, so I approached the airline and asked to change the ticket's date, they did so. For the change I had to pay a higher price than a regular ticket.
Finally reaching Gotogate and explaining the story, they tell me it's my fault and I had to get a hold on them.

Any changes to your booking and they will tell you to contact the airline. The airline will tell you to contact them. You are in between, unable to access your refund (if they cancel on you), your free re-booking or any credit you may have. Not even for a fee. Do not book with these scammers.

I had to cancel my flight. The airline (Flair Airlines) said it had sent the reimbursment to GoToGate. I called, sent emails, did everything I could to get in touch with them. All I would get were confirmation of reception emails. I never got my money back. This was back in August 2021. They are thieves, do not ever buy your tickets with this company.
Oh, and they use COVID as an excuse.
The cost of checked luggage is 3 times more than what is on the Westject website.
Also, they said a personal item (with a picture of a handbag) and a handbag (with a picture of carry-on luggage) are included in the ticket while it is only your backpack. Very confusing!

Scam! Not to buy from them, change the flight unannounced and then charge a second time, Who want to cancel don't answer the phone and by email for more than a month don't answer also waiting on the line for a few hours!

I made the flight reservation through Booking.com in March, 2023.
Later, the airline made a change to the flight, so I had to cancel.
The airline processed a refund rather quickly and sent it to Booking.Com's account (MasterCard account ending it 8699).
They also sent out a confirmation for this refund.
However, Booking.com despite receiving the refunds, has refused to reimburse me.
This is despite multiple calls, and at least 11 email correspondence with their third party customer service company, Gotogage.
They are slow in responding, and every time, I have to explain everything from scratch, only for them to restart to default ignorance in their next response.
Just spent the entire morning calling and calling!

The airlines cancelled our flight and sent us an email asking us to get refund from the travel agent (Gotogate). Gotogate used all kinds of excuses to refuse a refund. They told us to get an approval note from the airlines, a written statement from airlines, a $30 cancellation fee, etc. You name it! I called the airlines a few times and was told it is the travel agent's responsibility to release a refund, they already approved that... More worse, Gotogate let me wait over an hour and then left us in silence, literally! No sound! No response!
Gotogate, you are trying to make immoral and bloody money by taking advantage of covid-19 victims! I hope you will sleep well.
Stay away from them. The airlines refunded me 100% with no charged and they wanted $71 USD per person as a fee for the refund. They did not even provide customer service, I had to call them just to hear that I had to call the airlines and when the airline refunded me they got the money and they want to deduct $71 USD. Completely Scammers, Fraud, Not a decent business. Stay away!

They sent me a Dear sir or madam email stating my return flight from Bangkok had been cancelled, at the same time I received an email from Air China stating a time change with no mention of cancellation. Being unsure if gotogate email was correct as I was unnamed on it and reference number didn't appear to be correct I have over the past week made many attempts to contact them for conformation and only occasionally got a robotic reply and that was of no use. Not at all happy as I don't know where I stand and arranging an alternative flight will cost me a lot of money.
Called the customer service for support and waited in line for 2 hours. They were not able to help adding a simple cabin bag to the flight (the easiest thing to do). Ended up paying a fee for the abroad call (probably India) and for the not checked in baggage directly at the company service desk in the airport.
Hope someone shut down this scam.
They are still holding onto the full refund that the airline has confirmed and I've been chasing for months. They even tried to persuade me to cancel the tickets (and so void my right to a refund). Crooks. Don't do it!

Since this Corona virus went viral i have been trying to call Gotogate customer servise number and it is disconnected. I have paid over $6000 for the tickets to go with my family for a trip and who do i contact when they just vanished out of nowhere? Very unprofessional from them. I just know one thing and that is, i will get my money back even if i have to go at the end of the world to find person responsible for this! Don't worry will find you one day and when i do...!
I booked a flight with this scam company. Luggage was included in that reservation. I went to checkin but the airline said i only had a flight but buggage! They told me to get in touch with them to request money but this $#*!ty company after hours of calls rejected to pay me my refund. Everyone stay away from this company. I booked flights on KLM through GOTOGATE and before payment it offered the FLEX option. Only available at the time of payment. Flex option offers 1 free change. Pay the difference in fare only. I thought it was a good idea and paid the extra $494. After payment I realized that I made a huge mistake as the airline offers free changes. I immediately phoned GOTOGATE to cancel but they were not willing to help even though I just made the booking. They just said the Flex option is non-refundable. I requested to speak to a manager who only tried to phone me back 2 days later. I am very upset because they offer the Flex option on a already changeable ticket. What a waste of money. I could have booked the same flights for the same price through the airline and make free changes. GOTOGATE also only offer 1 free change with the Flex option and will probable charge a service fee thereafter. And terrible customer service. Stay away!
The worst ever! Do not fall for the cheap price. I had an energency and needed to change my reservation. I was welling to pay for any additional charges. Called the airlines and was told only gotogate can make the change. Tried several times calling. Opened a ticket. No response at all!
The worst experience to travel through this company is that there are no ways to communicate with them. If an email is sent to them, the response will be after the end of the trip.

I made a booking with this awful company only to realize 5 minutes later that I made a mistake on the date. I needed to change the flight to the next day and on their site the flight was even cheaper than the one I booked. I spent almost 2 hours on the phone, only to be handled by a man in India that was rude and unwilling to hear me. All he kept saying was that I was wasting my time and if I wanted to change my flight I was gonna be charged more than the cancellation fee ($98)! So pathetic that they cannot wave the fee when the flight information hasn't even gone through the airline website yet. Save yourself the stress and book with Expedia because they will fully refund your money within 24 hrs of booking.

Gotogate changed my departure time without any axplanation. My departure time was at 6.05 pm, but when I tried to check-in, I realized my departure time is already at 6.30 am. Any sms or email with explanation. My plans are ruined, because changing of departure time costs 600$. I strongly do not recommend this company. Also I could not to call or to chat Gotogate, their website doesn't find my reservation already and there's not any contact info((

Getting a ticket is nice and easy, they offer cancelling insurance for a decent price (until you see it's only for valid medical reasons, and that it's written in small characters) and is a nightmare to move/cancel flights. The hotline is horrible, you cannot change anything on the website, you have to call their $#*!ty hotline, and they can charhe huge fees for smal transactions. Do not get fooled!

This is a total scam- save your time and your money and NEVER book through gotogate.
Had I booked directly through Icelandair- I would have had a response via telephone and online form within minutes regarding the need to cancel my flight due to Covid. And, I would have received a voucher for the price of the flights.
However, Icelandair was unable to provide me with this voucher as I had booked through a third party (gotogate). I then proceeded to wait on hand for GotoGate for over 4 hours before my flight was set to depart with no answer.
When I filled out Gotogate's online form well before my flight, they responded to the cancellation request 5 days later (!) to say that they could not provide a voucher because I was marked as a no-show...
I will never, EVER, use this company again.

This company is the TOTAL CROOK. I lost 426 for a flight it was scheduled on the 17th of Dec 2019.
I had from the beginning paid almost 50, an additional cost for cancellation protection.
A day before the flight I got very sick I did very carefully all it was written to their regulation's form (I sent them a doctor's certificate to prove that I am not lying) so as to cancel my flight and they never respond to this.
I communicated with them by phone and as I was trying to understand the reason why, the line cut off. The follwing days I sent them two mails again, trying to get a radical response. I just took an automated response:
"We are very sorry to inform you that we cannot refund you because you didn't follow the regulations".
