I booked 2 tickets from South Africa to France on Air Algerie through Gotogate in about June 2024. Flight departing mid September. The flight was cancelled by the Airline on 17 August. Their refund policy stated 15 working days. This was 6 weeks ago and no refund has been received. The reason now given is that I was a "no show"! There are currently no Air Algerie flights to South Africa, so it would be difficult to be a "no show" if there are no aircraft! Gotogate keep fobbing me off with excuses. My advice - do not book through Gotogate if you want a refund if the airline cancels the flight. They should just be transparent and tell you upfront - no refunds on this flight for whatever reason. I am going to pursue this further.
Worst company ever! I have a flight which was cancelled due to Covid19.2 days before the flight I called them and I had to wait 2h on-hold just to get a arab accent guy with defective microphone. He told me to wait like 5 minutes and I was hearing him trying to switch cables of his microphone and then told me that because my ticket was low cost, they can't do nothing and that I had to contact airlines.
What a shame! The airline said clearly we had to contact the agency and I had to wait 2 hours just to be told they can do nothing! This is a completely scam!
Also there is no way to cancel through their website just like other companies let you.

Never use Gotogate
This company is the most unorganized and incompetent travel website I ever had to deal with. I had to call them 10-15 at least to correct a ticket that I had to change. I was disconnected at least 7 time and they never called me back. They just keep sending me to different agents who were all incompetents.
Never book any flight with them even if you are saving some money. It has been literaly a nightmare to deal with them

Dont try to save money... I have been calling them for a change of schedule on my tickets for 4 days spending hours on the phone to solve and get my new ticket. And I am still waiting for it . I am leaving in 8 days and it has been a nightmare.

We bought tickets via GotoGate for 1500$ with addition of 170$ for flexible option. Month before flight we wanted to use flexible option and push departure date for few days. When we checked on GotoGate site, the new price for tickets was 2200$ (so we need at least to pay additional 2200-1500 = 700$). We called to GotoGate service phone and were said that need to pay additional 3100$ more! So, just to change date we requested to pay more than new tickets!
GotoGate flexible option is not worth paying as it cannot be used. Not recommend to use GotoGate at all as custom service is also terrible
Gotogate made an error on the passengers name. They refused to correct it, arguing that it was the responsibility of the airline. Finally we could not fly and Gotogate refused to reimburse. By far the worst company I have seen!
Customer service is attrocious. Trying to contact them is difficult. The airline repaid them but they keep hold of the money for longer despite giving the impression they will help you get refunds quicker through them and then charge you for the dreadful service. It seems to me that they like other companies in the airline industry will only repay when you finally manage to speak to someone in person otherwise its just delay after delay.
I wish I could give zero stars! Absolutely horrendous customer service. Over 20+ hours on hold over the course of the past two months, literal lies told to us about future travel vouchers and rebookings. They even told us it was our responsibility to get in touch with the airline to release our tickets in order for gotogate to issue us a voucher? The airline even laughed at this stating that was the whole point of booking through a travel agency such as gotogate. Never use this joke of a business.
While they organized none reservation possibilities, they take your money than you wait for your refund if they do that 50 times a day at the end of the week makes a lot of money in the bank for go-to gate,has a cash flow, this not right in my school's?

Worst customer service ever. When asking to add a bag to my flight they insisted on 20GBP to respond to my mails, I sent many reminders! I added my bag directly with the airline.
After my flight departed they emailed me two weeks later explaining how to add a bag. A lot of good that was. I will never use this agency again as they are unresponsive and just want money from people.
Totallly dissatisfied with this company. Customer service non existent. Recently had to cancel flight due to Covid19 virus but could not get an answer from them re voucher for lost cost. Will never use them again and strongly urge others to do likewise.

When the supervisors did sound helpful they promised a solution but then it never happened. Never emailed to keep me informed. Operators can't make outbound calls from their desks. Thomas Cook tell me they have loads of problems with Go To Gate bookings. Essentially "Computer Says No"
They sell you air tickets that don't work with your airlines website/checkin/luggage allowance and you have no way of knowing this prior to purchase. They are rip off merchants! Avoid Avoid Avoid!
Placed a flight in my name instead of my partners accidents happen, an accident that had cost me £80, the airline refuses to change the name of my flight, refuses me a refund or a refund of unused air taxes, between speaking to the airline and gotogate they fob me back and fourth to each other accepting no responsibility leaving customers out of pocket, I advise you do not use this company or brussels airline
I recently booked a flex ticket with Go to Gate for a total of 771. However, when I tried to change my return date, they wanted to charge me 865, which was more than what I originally paid. Upon further investigation, I found that the cost of booking a new ticket altogether was actually cheaper at 656. To confirm this, I called Go to Gate to inquire about booking a flex ticket, and their representative told me that changing a flex ticket would be cheaper than getting a new ticket. And that was not my case so basically if you call before you book they will try to trick you to pay a flix. I was also disappointed with the customer service I received from Go to Gate, as their representatives were not helpful and even rude at times. Overall, my experience with Go to Gate was negative, and I would caution others against booking with them.
Called in hundreds of times, no pickup but put u on hold for hours. Need to cancel due to coronavirus border restriction. Check with the main airlines, they said they cant do the refuns, it must be done by the online retailer gotogate. Still not contactable.
Booked a trip, paid, and between the payment and receiving the confirmation email, they have moved us onto a different flight for the second leg of the journey. Demanding money for making changes that weren't our fault.

Their only solution was for me to cancel the booking (obviously, get charged for it), and lose more money by booking a new trip (with prices hiked up over the time I have been trying to reach them).

I prepaid Flexi option, but when tried to do change of my flight - they're trying to hide behind emails - they're not even replying to one (except automatic message they're busy ATM). Call to them - IVR system put you in the hell queue (even during working hours) - so I didn; t survive more than of these 52mins waiting:(

I booked a flight for over $1500. 00. They cancelled 2 months later and said they would facilitate the refund for $50. I agreed. Nearly 3 months, several unanswered emails and several long phone calls later I was refunded the flight minus the insurance package and their fee. They told me the $160.00 insurance package cannot transfer to the same trip with a new flight, and its not refundable. I called the insurance provider and they said it is refundable but they need the booking agent to call. Gotogate is refusing to call. How is this even legal? Absolute worst service I have ever had. Seems like a scam. BUYER BEWARE.

I purchased a Ticket for my daughter for $270.98 on 5 September 2023. Due to the Airline's Pet Policy, I had to immediately cancel the trip. I notified Go To Gate of the issue. The person I talked to was very polite, sincere and very understandable. He informed me I will receive a refund. To this very day I have not received a email, text message or a phone call. I purchased the ticket through Paypal Credit and informed PayPal of the issue. PayPal is working the issue right as I type. I highly recommend not to use this company for anything.

I was foolish enough to pay for a "flexible ticket" with this booking agency; it promised the possibility of rebooking without penalty or administration fees. But if the rebooked flights themselves cost more than your original purchase you have to pay the difference...sounds fair, no? Well not really. Because GoToGate will only offer you flights for rebooking at a widely inflated price, forcing you to pay a ridiculous price differential. In fact this differential is so high it is cheaper to simply purchase new flights from the original airline. So NEVER buy a flexible ticket from GoToGate, it's a complete waste of money. Only use this booking service if you are 100% certain that you can stick with the original itinerary.
I used to work in the travel industry, so making a change to an itinerary would have been no issue, if I could have done it myself. Yesterday I was on hold for 45 minutes only to be told that their staff would contact me within 3 days to make the change. Today I decided to cancel and book with the airline directly especially since they now have lower fares. I can't get past their voicemail options. While on hold, there is a repeated message about receiving a refund. This must be a problem. Order # LL5I10
Their system crashed again and agian while we were trying to make a booking and although we checked the names several times, they got the name of our infant wrong on the ticket and would not correct it and for 3 weeks before the flight we kept trying to reach them but their customer service kept giving us the run around saying they would try to find a solution and work on it but never doing anything or even sending us the emails they promised to send us.
Booked a ticket for a couple friend to come and visit. Had to change flight twice due to covid. After second time got offered an open ticket. When tried to use it, i spent 13 weeks calling to try and organise the flight. Always got told " please be patient, one of our tema member will be in contact with you". Never received call. Had to purchase another ticket as new departure date was imminent. Asked for refund, after 15 weeks, i have received 17% ot tot cost.

People typically complain when something is wrong but say nothing when something good happens. Here's what happened to us...
I purchases three tickets with them almost two months prior to the departure date. The night before trying to check in, I encountered issues I thought would be resolved at the ticketing counter. Only to discover my "itinerary was invalid". I was appalled and very angry. I contacted someone through the app. Soon after I recieved a phone call, explaining that my tickets had been canceled and that the airline refunded my payment to the third-party site. They said I would receive full reimbursement AND a flight voucher. I was skeptical. Then I found all these bad reviews. Then I got an email saying my refund was on the way to my account. Then, it came. I actually recieved the refund and a travel voucher. Not sure what happened or what's going on. Something seems off, but maybe not a scam. I'm satisfied.
