This new Grindr is not making anything easier it is making meeting much worse. The direction of the platform has changed from a place where men meet to a place where the rich can make money off of men not meeting. Going public. Almost their biggest mistake ever. Behind the charging out the butt just to see 600 profiles. Wow.

1) there are a lot of chat bots (maybe 5-10%) from places like China and Azerbaijan; these are identifiable by their lack of a geolocation and professional photos. If you'd like to engage in unending sexy chat this might be a good app for you. These profiles became more prevalent after grindr became web-based.
2) there are a lot of prostitutes; these are identifiable by the phrases "lost chats" (because grindr deleted their profile for obvious criminal activity) and the word "visiting" - what they really mean is traveling prostitute.
3) there appears to be a substantial and homeless and criminal element. Maybe they intend to rob you in your own home or have you show up in a car, ("Car Fun") than stick a knife or a gun in your ribs and drive away in your car. Have fun explaining that to the police.
4) there are a lot of just plain old fake profiles. There are an even greater number of false profiles with guys claiming to be something that they are not, such as hosting or clean.
5) You don't get what you pay for: grindr has a lot of ads for children's games which you cannot bypass and if you upgrade you continue to get those same ads for games. As a result of this grindr is a very slow process. You might even spend more time looking at ads then being able to browse or search. In the end every time I clicked on a profile it was an ad for a paid upgrade which I'm not going to be willing to pay for for the reasons listed above. In a nutshell it's Not so Great.

If grindr mandated geolocation, blocked the phone numbers of prostitutes, got rid of the web-based grindr, insisted on one XXX non-portrait full frontal and one non-portrait XXX side photo it would cut out a lot of the fake, false and criminal profiles and allow grindr to charge a weekly or monthly subscription without any ads. This would also probably result in a greater number of actual & real people participating in the app but unfortunately this is not their business model.

If you are paying for GRINDr Ads I will let you know they have so many problems in their platforM that they are basically stealing your money. We spent thousands with them and after not having a single convertion I decided to run a few reports most of the devices are showing just a black ad.they ignore all the problems, but many of this bugs are even visible if you just try to use their platform

Horrible app several times it freezes locks me out and steals my money, do not use this app. Its disgusting

Wouldn't even leave one star. Was permanently banned from Grindr because my profile said "sorry no trans" I was reported and given no chance to even explain or appeal the ban, wasn't even aware that was rude to say! Anyone know how I can formally report Grindr and get my account back!

Nothing on this app but underage kids, drug dealers, and drug users. They should be shut down and Apple and Google should be shut down for allowing this company to get away with it.

I have used grindr for several years and it has been a good safe source for hooking up with random men - HOWEVER the useless and annoying ads and games.are it difficult to enjoy the site. Can someone PLEASE help with the endless ads my gosh I'm on here for fun not to see your endless freaking ads that all or most of your viewers have no interest in - please for God sakes end the ads!

Grindr appears to ban profiles of innocent individuals who merely reply to offenders to protect themselves but appears to take no notice of serious crimes or insults on behalf of offenders. There is absolutely no policing, particularly with regard to foreign languages. This needs to be improved, otherwise the app should disappear from the market.

Attached you'll find an offender insulting his interlocutor, who insists on wanting to know their origin (although the person is multicultural, with a mixed background), which underlines racist or ethnicist behaviour on behalf of the offender.

Purchased "top" level subscription. Suspended without a reason being offered. Waiting a long time to hear result of appeal against suspension. Meantime lost everything, past contacts, messages (including exchanged email addresses and numbers and pictures), details of favourites, contacts. In my view "not guilty" of anything. Trying to get refund of access payment (originally was for a year, about six moths left) unsuccessful/unavailable. Lousy service, think thrice!

Although the gay community elected to use Grindr as a method to cruise, the product itself is constantly unstable and regularly down for a reason or another. Memberships are extortionate and do not reflect the level of service the app offers. Customer service is inexistant and one is treated simply as a wallet cash can be extracted from. Replies to issues raised via the help system are pro-forma, issued by a computer. Being aware of issues and glitches slowing down the app or getting it down is one thing but experiencing, first hand, the treatment reserved to customers by their customer service is quite a different experience all together. There is no surprise in finding out mass migration from Grindr to competitors like FabGuys or Scruff... Reasonable membership cost, reliable apps or platforms and issues are treated and solve by human beings who treat their customers like ones.

At one time when this site got started it was pretty good, but not any more. Between the completely phony ads, to the hookers wanting drugs or money, to the prick teasers playing games, this site is a joke. Too bad you can't give negative star reviews because Grindr would get a -5 stars. Pass them by and save your money.

The app was nice in the beginning, then they started to make money - it's fair as no service is for free.
Then they wanted more money - ok advertisements and paid accounts with more functionalities... now they became unlimited greedy. Paying for Xtra account (subscription for a whole year) and they changing rules during the game, removing existing and basic functionalities which I pay for. And forcing to buy the highly overpriced unlimited version. Not gonna extend my subscription as I pay money and receive not much more than in a free account.
Not mentioning they they have no control over age verification and daily spams, and aggressive escort profiles.
They should be suied for using the LGBT+ community as they became main app for us and they're using the situation in very inappropriate and greedy way.
Very bad strategy. I hope their position will be taken over by new app which os not only looking to get money from us.

Like most gay dating apps, this is no longer an app just for gay men. "Queers", women, trans men everywhere. Grindr wants to please everyone, so why not just kick out real gay men and let everyone in.

WTF. I have had the grindr app for a few months, I have tried and tried to cancel. The app does not allow me to cancel. They keep charging me and have NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM. This is app is a SCAM.

It's not the fake profiles or drug dealers as mentioned above. It's their "Customer Service" - Recently, a guy started harassing me, pretending to know who I was / where I lived, etc. etc. I maintained my composure, which was difficult and informed him that I was not interested and asked that he stop contacting me. I reported him as Grindr encourages you to do. That was two weeks ago. I've blocked ever since. Even after multiple appeals (they responded that they made a mistake and my account would be restored. NOPE. Still blocked. So, my advise - NEVER contact them / never report anyone. I'm the victim of harassment. I followed all of the rules and tried to protect other members from this creep, yet, I'm blocked and it makes no sense. No good deed goes unpunished. It's ridiculous and unfair.
