I have been purchasing hotel stays, massages, facials, restaurant vouchers and a few other categories for a little over a year now so I thought I could submit a fair review. I would say I've used about 40 groupons over the year (I think I'm addicted).

Every groupon has worked perfectly and with the hotel stays they usually throw in some perks (a food voucher, late check out or a small gift). All places honored everything that was promised.

The vouchers are available seconds after purchase and have all the details you need. Before ANY purchase ALWAYS read the fine print because expiration dates can sneak up on you. If there's a slight question whether you will make it by the dead line, don't do it no matter how good the deal is. However, if time slipped away, don't hesitate to call the business to ask if they will still honor it even tho it's expired.

I too am a business and have used groupon to get more visitors and I ALWAYS honor groupons... even if expired. Doesn't hurt to ask!

Lastly, I highly suggest that you take a look at the companies own website BEFORE purchasing a groupon. Lets face it, some businesses are struggling & this is a last ditch effort to get the word out & win some new customers. With that said, some of these places might be in a bad section of town, a little run down or might not be your type of place. For instance, I purchased a facial at a salon and when I got there it was a place that specialized in ethnic services. Not only that but they had never offered facials before so they were "winging" it. Not a good experience at all. Another lesson learned that I'm passing on to my fellow bargain hunters. If I had only looked at their website I could have saved myself some money & a not so good experience.

So give Groupon a try!

I will not be buying anymore Groupons. Groupon does not check out the companies they post deals for. I bought an air duct cleaning coupon for $49.00. After numerous attempts I was able to schedule an appointment. The company "Fresh Air United Builders" aka "Fresh Air Duct Services" aka "United Air Cleaners" came to my house. They went into my garage. Ran a house to my furnace and turned it on. I can't see that they actually did anything. They did not clean any of the ducts in my house. Then tried to sell me a 5 year warranty package costing $699 plus two filters with an additional charge of $100 each, or, a 10 year warranty package for $1,600.00 which included the two filters and a UV light. Annual cleanings were included in the cost of both packages. Thankfully I Googled the company and saw that everything they did was a scam. Had I bought either of their packages I would had the pleasure of the company vanishing. Also, they really don't clean anything with their hose. It's just on to make it sound like they are doing something. There are complaints all over about this company going back many years. Why does Groupon continue to help this company rip people off? I am only out $49 so it could be worse, however, I have Groupon to thank for being ripped off at all. Like I said, I will never by anything from Groupon again!

Ripped Off and Horrific Customer Services!

After purchasing a few hundreds worth of coupons from Groupon for restaurants, body message (which is not a message, but a chiropractor required 1 hr intake), etc. all of which are ripped offs; not worth the money. I called *******482 and *******777, the Groupon customer service Adrienna A., Stephan, and Ian B. Are scums. First of all, they recorded my conversation, secondly, they merely argued and wasted my time. I wanted my money back, they said, "After 7 days of purchases, you don't get your money back." I asked them if they keep the unused purchases as scammers do? They refused to answer. I have requested my refunds for the unused coupons for over 10 months, Groupon refused to respond. I hope that I did not need to use Small Claims recourse to get my money back including interests. Even 60 Minutes aired the horrific rip-offs by Groupon. It is a RED FLAG and an eye-opener! Strongly NOT recommend Groupon to anyone!

I had bought a deal that would let me get a custom Xbox controller for $30, a $100 value. Well when I went to redeem it and make my controller, the total came to over $200! The bare minimum you could buy (certain parts ARE needed after all) was $170. I'm not sure where this 'deal' came from, but I was not happy.

Luckily Josh was able to help me and give me a full refund.

A Tanning salon in Goodyear AZ is offering a deal on Groupon, the problem is they went out of business weeks ago. I called Groupon to report this and they sent me an e-mail with the information they needed to investigate. I sent them the contact information for the property management company. That was 3 days ago and the offer is still on Groupon. Buyer Beware! Check out any business before buying a Groupon deal because they are slow to react to customer feedback

I bought a duct cleaning service for a good price... but when I called to schedule, I was told they were booking 3 months out... I booked and waited for three months and then they never showed! Groupon sucks! They do not check out the businesses they advertise... BEWARE GROUPON!

I'm a business owner, after filling out the application and waiting a week i still hadn't heard back so i gave them a call. The gentleman clearly stated, "yeh were overwhelmed, someone may get back to you in a month, if not there is nothing i can do". You would think, if you had too much business you would hire more people. This company is a sham. It preys on smaller businesses. That's it. - Done with Groupon!

We bought an expensive museum entry for around $200. When we went to the museum they said they couldn't take it until the specified date but none of us had that day off work. We called right there to cancel because we decided to pay full price to enter the museum. To our surprise they weren't open on weekends because according to the voicemail quote, "they don't like weekends". I thought that was strange because they said on the voucher that I only had 24 hours to get refund but how can I refund if they are not open. On the main website It said I had 7 days to get a refund. So I called today. They said i had to email them. That is bullcrap you cant have a 24 hour refund policy and not have your phone lines open. I told my credit card company what is up and they said they cant do that and that they are helping me dispute it.

I bought "$11.99 for an Oral-B 12-Pack of Replacement Toothbrush Heads ($60 List Price)" from Groupon. The product is low-quality junk. It breaks after 3 uses instead of holding up for 3 months as Oral-B would. It is not Oral-B, but some "compatible" variety. Groupon misleads customers with false advertisement and sells inferior knock-offs. Return policy is practically non-existent. I highly do NOT recommend buying anything from them.

Groupon takes about 4 weeks to ship... and if you cancel the order they also take about two weeks to refund your money... I cancelled my order 10 minutes after the purchase and that's how long they took (twice)... you can find the same items on ebay for penny's more and get it delivered way faster.

Where to begin...

Where to begin... Ideeli lost a number of packages in the mail. When I complained, they threatened to freeze my account. I told them that I would file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (which I did) and due directly to that comment they froze the account rather than helping a customer.

Additionally, after mentioning the poor service on Facebook - they blocked me from their page. This could have been avoided by being responsive to their customers. While I miss their awesome dresses, I certainly don't miss them.

Please reference my response on 6/5/13, copied below.

"Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on SiteJabber. We're sorry you've had a poor experience with our site. According to our records, your account was closed due to a violation of our Terms & Conditions (http://www.ideeli.com/pages/terms_and_conditions). Over the course of your time with us, you have requested multiple courtesy shipping vouchers, all of which were detailed in your account. After a review by our customer service team, it was noted that no further courtesy vouchers would be issued.

On May 20th, you chatted with a customer service representative about two packages that you had not received, and wanted an update on the situation. According to UPS.com and USPS.com, delivery was first attempted on April 23rd. You reached out to us on May 10th about these particular packages and to do a thorough investigation we need 8 business days to communicate with UPS and the Post Office. When you reached out to us again on the 20th, we immediately refunded you in full for the orders that were lost in transit (orders 60159798, 60594914 and 61000230), even though our investigation was not yet completed. You also requested a courtesy voucher for the inconvenience. As we are not obligated to issue credit in addition to making recompense for your lost items, and due to the note in your account, we did not issue you the additional $10 voucher on top of your Lost Package refunds. At that point, the agent you were chatting with handed the conversation over to her supervisor, and when we did not give you a voucher, and we could not reship your lost items (as they were lost and, therefore, not in our inventory) you informed us you would be going to the Better Business Bureau to complain. This is grounds for immediate cancellation of an account with us. From our Terms and Conditions: “ideeli may, in its sole discretion, terminate or suspend any Member's Membership in and/or access to all or part of the ideeli Service and the Site for breach of these Terms and Conditions, or taking actions that are inconsistent with their intent. Ideeli shall be the sole determiner in cases of suspected abuse, fraud, or breach of these Terms and Conditions or intent of these Terms and Conditions. Any decision ideeli makes relating to termination or suspension of any Member's account shall be final and binding. (Section 2.5)“

In regards to your return, we cannot accept it at this time, because the requested was made a day after your account was closed. Also from our Terms and Conditions, “Termination of your Membership will result in termination of all rights of access and use granted to Members. (section 2.2)” When we refused to issue you the return, you made this the focus of your follow-up complaint with the BBB. In a third incident with the BBB, you had stated that had we just informed you that we wouldn't be giving you the voucher, you would have dropped the issue. However, we have seven recorded incidents in your original chat on May 20th where you asked for a voucher, and our representatives replied in no uncertain terms that we would not be issuing you a voucher.

We’re truly sorry that we weren't able to come to a better conclusion in regards to your account. While we tried working with you consistently, you found fault with a great deal of our policies and we thought it might be in the best interest of both parties involved if we closed your account; we were not adequately meeting the needs of you, as the customer, and believed that we would not be able to assist you further in the future."

I purchased 2 different products from this site and both merchants of those products honored the vouchers with no problem. The products were an excellent buy as they were discounted by 70% or more the retail value.

I ordered 2 laptops over 3 weeks ago. I wasn't provided tracking information until the weekend before 1 of the laptops arrived. Yep, I only received 1 of the laptops. I am still waiting on the other. There is no tracking information for the second laptop yet I've been told it's en route. A customer service rep told me 2 days ago that my second laptop would be here today. That didn't happen. My calls and emails to customer service have not resolved anything. While they aren't rude, they don't go out of their way to make things right either. This has been an expensive lesson to learn. I figured I would post a "Buyer Beware" on as many sites as I could before moving on to reporting them to the BBB and the Attorney General.

I used to think Groupon was the best thing ever, but after buying several things through them I realized the quality wasn't too impressive. A $100+ value curling iron I bought for $30 wasn't as hot as other high-quality ones and it didn't really work well. I'm skeptical of how they decide on the "original price" - I feel like they might have been low-quality items with ridiculous prices that didn't sell well, so they just dumped it through Groupon. I also bought a pair of flats through here and it was really cute but it ripped after about 3 weeks which was really disappointing. On the other side, I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab II through groupon which I love, so I guess it really depends on what company is selling through groupon. Be more cautious with companies you don't know, but if it's a trust worthy company, jump on it! :)

HORRIBLE!

HORRIBLE! STAY away! I registered and now i am stuck with a balance to use, as unfortunatelly i bought stuff and returned it for free shipping, so now i cannot leave until i used up the balance. Here is why it's bad:
1. Items shipped to you come with defects.
2. packaging of the items is poor REALLY poor quality.
3. returns take 4 weeks to process! So if you ship items back Mon sept 1 - don't expect to see any money back till Sept 20th. - i have been a customer for a year - speaking from a lot of experience.
4. NO customer support! - NONE - when you contact them - nothing is ever resolved! They are NOT attentive to your questions and never resolve anything. PLUS it takes days to hear back - and honestly - it's soooooo frustrating that you will just want to give up and let it go...
5. NO customer service again - when they do contact you - they are not friendly, they are not trained to revolve issues - and it's even more frustrasting.
5. pricing - honestly, it's not that great if you know about ruelala, century21 and tjmaxx - ideeli pricing isn't that great BUT the amount of frustrating is high. I say it's not worth it.
6. cannot wait to use up my balance and close that account!

They sell some good designer brands. However, the quality of merchandise they sell is a lower quality than you would find in a store or on some of the other flash sale sites like Gilt. Generally, fabrics are cheaper and the colors shown on the website, compared to what you receive, are off. This is known as a classic bait-and-switch. For example, what is shown on the website as a lovely turquoise arrives as a hideous dark mint green and gorgeous black and white abstract racer-back top shown with stark white pants, arrives as a black and dirty beige which looks odd with white pants. They have a good return policy - free shipping for a store credit - but you wait up to 10 days for the credit to show up in your account which is not good since they have your money and you are now out of money with nothing to show for it. Lately, I find I'm returning more than I'm keeping. The fit is also a little off compared to the size chart they show. My advice is shop at your own risk; some days you may be luckier than others with what you receive compared to what you ordered.

Well I don't know what everyone else is talking about with their issues. But I have NEVER had an issue and when I have I called customer service (friendly by the way) they agreed to refund me my money every time. I highly recommended this site! But MAKE SURE TO READ THE FINE PRINT ON ALL PURCHASES. I can't stress this enough!

I have become a Groupon Hater! Make sure you always keep CLOSE tabs on your purchased groupons. Some items may cancel without letting you know and you will not get reimbursed until you contact them! I ordered a pet mattress from INNERGY (a company selling a groupon) and it was supposed to be delievered in 2 1/2 weeks... after 4 weeks of not even receiving a tracking number or hearing anything about it. I had to sit for hours trying to contact someone that could actually give me helpful advice... i never received any good news of course. INNERGY sold more than they had. Which is rediculous! They should know how much they have before they sell. Thats just greed!. But i noticed they were on Groupon AGAIN selling the same items. Instead of sending one out to me... a customer who has already paid and waiting a month for the item... they had taken my purchased groupon off of "my goupons" page and did not tell me about it... I had to contact them to get my money back.! VERY SNEAKY and to me thats a SCAM! I will no longer use groupon. Especially since Groupon did not seem apologetic for any of it. And all i got was my money back. And only because I caught them... pretty crappy...

This site is absolutely the worst I've ever used. You order products, then wait and wait and wait and wait and wait. This could be forever. Don't bother calling customer service because they know nothing... just wait and wait and wait and wait and... you get the point.

I am not even going to try to buy. I subscribed to their emails to see if their products could be interesting for me. They were not what I was looking for so I tried to unsubscribe 4 times. Every time I go to the page, follow the instructions and save the settings, to no avail, I keep on being bombed with emails. If you cannot honor your unsubscribe policy, I don't want to find out how they conduct the rest of business.
