I finally got my refund... Keep fighting! It may take awhile but it is starting to happen! Report to anyone you can and contact customer service DAILY if not more.
DO NOT BOOK A TRIP!
I ordered a Groupon for a hotel stay that was to happen on April 24th through the 26th of 2020. I purchased this group on on May 4th 2020. When I originally purchased this group on the confirmation from the Groupon and the hotel said that as long as I canceled within nine days of the reservation I would receive a full refund. Because of the Corona virus my reservation was canceled by not only the hotel but by Groupon. The hotel issued me an email saying they were going to refund the amount to my payment. If I did not do anything by April 2nd it would be automatically refunded. Today April 3rd 2020, I received an email saying that the refund had not been issued to my form of payment, that instead Groupon had decided because of the Corona virus situation, that they were doing all refunds in the form of Groupon bucks. Groupon bucks can only be used to purchase things from Groupon and nothing else. I contacted Groupon and told them I did not want Groupon bucks. This reservation was for a birthday party obviously we will now have to do something else for this and have no intention of going to the hotel. Groupons response was that during the Corona virus they will only issue refunds to Groupon bucks and nothing else. I'd ask them for a refund again through another customer service agent and again explained that I never chose to get Groupon bucks and then I did not want to use any Groupon services. This was well within the cancellation period that was given to me initially when I made the reservation. Again they denied giving me the refund saying that they had already processed the refund into Groupon bucks and we're only doing that at this time.
I lost my job do to this pandemic and before this I purchased dental cleaning through Groupon. I contacted them and asked for a refund and the manager approved it. It's been three weeks since that happened. I went back on the site and contacted them again to see what the issue was and the representative told me that there was nothing she can do and also told me she was Not going to escalate my call. She was very rude and I filed a complaint with the BBB. Do not purchase from here. They do not help people.
Group on customer service is an absolute joke and farce like many sites. Customer Service and third party merchants refuse to adjust terms in light of the COVID-19 crisis and like most businesses only cares about their profits instead of thinking of customers.
I bought a watch. Almost 4 weeks go by and I said I never received it. They offer me a refund or groupon bucks. I take the groupon bucks and order another watch. I wait 8 weeks hoping it will arrive. After 8 weeks I gave up and wanted a refund. They cant offer a refund to me as it has been too long! Only option is groupon bucks that I dont want. This is a scam company. Dont give them your money! Now I have a boatload of groupon bucks that I dont want. I also do not want to buy anything from these con artists. I wish i could put their groupon bucks where the sun dont shine. Beware!
I purchased a groupon for six flags great escape in the amount of $493. It was cancelled by groupon, and instead of them returning my money they converted it to groupon bucks with no warning or permission. Which is of zero use to me. They say it cannot be refunded to cash. How is that when i paid money it should be returned the same way. I should've at least been given the choice. BEWARE!. Do not spend your hard earned money with groupon. Any company that would do this to people in a time like this deserves to be shut dowm. Its criminal.
My family had a trip booked for the end of April to Kalahari, due to the pandemic Kalahari is closed. I logged into my account to cancel my trip and issue a refund to my credit card but groupon had already canceled my trip. However groupon is refusing me a refund and instead holding onto my money in the form of a credit on my account. The fine print state I am eligible for a full refund as long as I cancel 4 or more days prior to check in. I have contacted groupon and the absolutely refuse to issue the refund. Refused to escalate my case and let me speak to a supervisor. I am a single mom whose place of employment was closed by the state until further notice. I need that money back to help house and feed my family. This is wrong! Groupon please fix this. Their response "Unfortunately, this deal is no longer eligible for a refund to your original form of payment."
Me and my friends booked a hotel in New York City for a weekend in April before the Covid-19 pandemic. After NY announced a state of emergency/stay-at-home order, we contacted Groupon to let them know we will be cancelling our hotel reservation. They let us know that we needed to contact the merchant (hotel) to see if they will honor the refund which they were happy to honor given NY's current state. After informing Groupon that the hotel was ok with refunding us, they then asked us to instead move our dates. After many back and forth emails with Groupon, they went back on their original word and refused to give any type of refund or credit because we had exceeded the window in which this could be processed' after 3 weeks of communication with their customer service team. Their only solution was to move our dates knowing that we are completely unsure of when it will be safe to travel to New York in the foreseeable future.
It was completely disappointing that Groupon was unwilling to work with their customers during an already confusing and difficult time. Even after the hotel was willing to work with us and agreed to provide a refund, Groupon was contradictory in their word. The inconsistency in the customer service was not only confusing but extremely frustrating.
It is very likely that I will never be using Groupon again and especially to book any hotels.
I purchased a ticket for an event that has been canceled amidst the COVID-19 social gathering restrictions that has affected us all. Groupon acknowledges that they rather keep your money during this time of need rather than return or credit your purchase in these current circumstances that is affecting the world. What a stand up way to show support to humanity. Your greed is real and my loyalty as a customer will remember this always.
Had a hotel reservation to Great Wolf Lodge through Groupon. Obviously with the COVID19 outbreak the hotel closed due to state orders. Great Wolf wouldnt extend my reservation because it was a promotion through Groupon. Ok i get that, I got a smokin deal during winter rates. And they wont reopen till summer rates. Sucky but ok. This would have been our first visit for my 4 year old daughters bday. Contact Groupon, groupon will not refund my money, only offered Groupon Bucks to buy other unwanted crap. I had to call and dispute the charge as fraud. Ridiculous.
If you buy something, it's delivered and have a question. YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK. I ordered a pair of sneakers that don't fit, I wanted wide but that did not display as an option when my original order displayed Medium. I wanted to ask why I found a number to call and when you call it and choose the correct option for ask about a received item, it tells you where to get info online AND IT'S WRONG! Then it disconnects the call. As a public company, now the most important thing is the bottom line not realizing that offering NO customer support is hurting sales!
Spent 156$ on tickets I never received they wouldn't refund me or give me credit on something else. I had to repay when I got to the aquarium I had purchased them for. By far the worst. Never had such a bad experience
I had a trip to Great Wolf Lodge in April that was cancelled due to the coronavirus and no fault of our own. I have talked to customer service on more than one occasion which all ended up with them ending the call because they didnt want to refund me my money. I have emailed 2 of the 3 co-owners with no response. I posted on their FaceBook page and they completely blocked me. After all that i have submitted a complaint with the BBB which has sent a messaged to Groupon. Waiting on the results of that. My next step is to take them to small claims court. I will run this up as high as they want to take it. They are a low life criminal thieving business that i hope gets shutdown. I will continue to leave reviews everyday until Jesus comes or i get my money back from this thieving company. I do not want their stupid groupon bucks as i will NEVER use groupon again. I will get my money back or run the name groupon so far into the ground that noone will even remember what it was.
Horrible, reservations were cancelled due to the virus which is completely understandable. But they are refusing to refund my money! They keep saying they cant. They can only give me groupon credit. BULL$#*!! I WANT MY FULL REFUND BACK!
Groupon is holding my money forcing me to take a credit in groupon bucks for a hotel stay that was canceled because of the hotel being closed. My Groupon stated if the reservation was canceled 7 days in advance (4/26/2020) I would be refunded. Now they are stating that no longer applies? They have turned their phone systems off forcing you to chat online. This is the worst experience ever. I'm highly disappointed in this million dollar company. I've tried to handle this with a customer service rep but I didn't get anywhere. Anybody else having the same issue?
Made a purchase thru Groupon. I attempted to cancel it the following day. They advised me it had shipped. Now 11 days later. Item NOT shipped. They cancelled order due to being out of stock. They also advise my refund will be within a few days. Total Bad experience.
Seriously Groupon, what terrible customer service. Our hotel is closed due to the pandemic and you will not refund my credit card? I don't want your Groupon Bucks, I want a refund!
COVID-19, stopped us from going on our trip. Groupon was not helpful at all at helping us. As a country we should be coming together and groupon was heartless and cold! I e-mailed and did a live chat. They quit emailing and the live chat made it someone else's problem
Groupon is great! I always get great discounts for goods and services! I like that they always offer local companies and it's always close to home. I've saved $100's by now! Make sure to use the app! Apple Pay is there
I put some money into groupon many years ago and have asked several times if I could have my money back. They just say no and state "it's our policy" and don't even care to ask why... Three times groupon has taken my groupon bucks (my money) due to lack of account use. That is stealing! After hours of emails they do put my money back into my account as groupon bucks. Customer service (only by live chat or email) is horrible and I am being kind. For the last 5 years of many experiences I have not once received good service. In an attempt to use up my remaining bucks I purchased Sams Club Membership but it would not go through pointing to my account billing and to change my card---I am paying with my bucks. Okay I get it they want a card as back up so I live chat which to get an answer back in a timely manner seems impossible for them. Bottom line, stay away if all possible unless they get a new CEO b/c it starts at the top.
I purchased a product with Groupon and I was unable to redeem it. Being I tried after their 7 days, I was unable to get a refund. I will NEVER order from them again.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
