My item never arrived and Groupon have not replied to my 30+ messages requesting a refund. Complete scammers and I'm not alone you only need to see reviews on Facebook and Twitter to see that this is something that they are doing repeatedly! Avoid at all costs!
So if you purchase a Groupon and quickly decide you don't want it and cancel they do not give you a refund they will only give you a Groupon credit which will expire in 60 days if you can't find anything they keep your money. The full amount. Customer service is awful. Terrible business practice
I purchased a Groupon for concert in Chicago on 11/24 & after purchasing I downloaded app & created account. All I received was voucher & I did online chat on 3 different occasions since voucher did not have a barcode, it was basically just proof of purchase. Not one of the agents were helpful or knowledgeable as to my dilemma. I emailed Ticketmaster & called box office who informed me that I would be able to show voucher & ticket would be issued then. Groupon issued the voucher and should have been able to tell me that instead of acting like I was doing something wrong. The price may be lower but I won't use again
Horrible I bought a groupon for a massage Coukd never book because the company never returned calls and never answered the telephone Then it said my coupon was redeemed but I never redeemed it Groupon was of no help at all and dont want to reimburse me
The worst sight ever I was charged for 2 reservations for a hotel, I only needed 1 they won't give me my money back there's no 2nd reservation that shows at the property, you can't talk to a live person! Theses people are crazy no help from the hotel that I booked with! It says complimentary breakfast on the sight the hotel said they stopped that 7 months ago! This is just crazy now I'm out of 500+ dollars my bank, the hotel, or Groupon doesn't care! The hotel keeps charging fees on my credit card this is absolutely unacceptable on so many levels!
I purchased vouchers for airline lounge passes. The offer was phrased in a way that suggested there would be no more fees involved. When I went to redeem the vouchers I was presented with a bill for $233/per pass. They refused to issue a refund. Groupon is clearly now a scam site.
When it started, Groupon had a great customer service. You could reach them instantly by phone, by chat, or by email. Now, they have none. You try to contact them and you send a message with no address, no confirmation of receipt, no answer…..
I got a Groupon for a spa treatment. Prior to getting it I checked the business schedule it said they are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. When I called to book, the said they only take appointments after 3pm. This conflicts with my work schedule. I tried getting a refund and was told I'm past the cooling off period and can't get my money back.
Groupon sells illegal licenses, and then when they get caught you loose out on the service they sold, and they wont offer a refund. Apparently they are a scam website as of 2023.
Today im Deleting all my campaigns on Groupon as its become a PURE SCAM. Im a seller on Groupon and have been for over 10 years. Because we dont have access to customers emails when they purchase a voucher for our service we cant promt them to when its running out. We know as well that groupon dont always let customers know... and why should they, it means nothing to them as they are holding the money, The only ones loosing out are the customer and the frustrated company who are offering the service. Now im very aware of Data Protection and hate companies who STILL sell our information. But this is not the case. Customers have paid for my service at that point I should be able to email them and say lets get you booked in. Over the last 2 years ive had to deal with GROUPON CUSTOMERS AT THIS POINT who call saying ive just noticed my Groupon Voucher has expired, This is a conversation we dont want to have but then have to tell them to go back to Groupon. HASSLE FOR THEIR FLAW... while they still hang on to the customers money. Further to this when Groupon further discount the voucher they take it off my end so we make even less without lettings us know. This is a new thing they introduced but because my deals have been up for 10 years its not something we were told. We just noticed the payments were smaller and then just told yeh we are discounting further. Not worth being with Groupon anymore. Wont be back until the allow the sellers to contact the customer that have bought our service instead of hiding everything and keeping peoples money. CUSTOMERS MAKE SURE YOU REDEEM YOUR VOUCHERS
Groupon works as long as you don't need any customer service. I had an issue with one of my Groupons and I had to do back and forth emails to a bunch of random customer service representatives. The agents were never the same and usually said contradictory things or gave some random response that had nothing to do with my email. They didn't understand my concerns or my questions. I had to ultra simplify my wording in the hopes that my email would translate into their language well. These are the names of the agents who emailed me:
Duddela Venkata
Rupanagudi Nazeer Babu
Chaithra C P
Abhisek Kumar Singh
It would have been nice to speak to someone over the phone. I'm guessing they don't have a customer service number because their agents don't speak English.
Was looking for coupons to change oil on my Prius. Found what appeared to be a stellar coupon for Full Synthetic Oil change, but it was on the other side of the metro. I decided the savings were good enough that I made the trip anyways, only to learn the store was permanently closed. Found another coupon for a store closer to my home and was told that they do not honor this Groupon coupon even though Groupon had their location listed. Groupon's app does not appear to have any support or ability to report errors in yheir listings.
Don't use i! It's just a ploy to scam people into visiting a specific business and reluctantly buying something there when they would have gone somewhere else if they knew the price was no different.
I purchased a tour on Groupon.com. Their booking system allowed me to purchase for 'today' but when I went to redeem, it was expired. I purchased in the morning and tours were available until late afternoon. I contacted them right away received prompt responses, but from a different person every time. After dealing with 10 different Groupon employees I've made no progress and accepted a Groupon credit, which is of little use because I'm from Canada. They said they could not transfer the credit to my Groupon.ca account. Their booking system is faulty and, based on their responses, I am not confident they will fix it. Beware.
I have a made a mistake of purchasing the ticket via Groupon versus official channel/service provider. The ticket I have purchased via Groupon was not accepted at the day of event and it took us 2 hours to understand why and find the solution. I wish I took the ticket through official service provided platform and avoided this embarrassment and extreme dissatisfaction with the service. Be wise with your purchases.
Groupon asked for my review of the customer service I received this is my response to Groupon and futher explains my nightmare with finally receiving my refund. This is my exact response to their survey:
After ten different persons responding to my one request for return of my funds for a service that I could not receive by the salon owner I finally received my refund. Instead of one person responding to my request I kept getting a different response from different people as if Groupon has no coordination amongst its customer service reps. I was told I had not followed the rule to request within 3 days, which I had done. Groupon's lack of coordination and delay in responding to its customers immediately led to this nightmare! I have used and purchased many items and one major service from a vendor who charged me twice for the same service, after I was in her office and ready for the procedure. I will NEVER use GROUPON again! Your customer service is horrible, and if I had not refused to accept your denial for my refund, and contacted the FTC I would have had to accept your Groupon Credit, which I did not want. It is GROUPON's deceptive way of not losing money. A customer should never be forced to accept credit for a service that they have paid for and cannot receive because of the vendor not the customer. I am not sure how you have managed to stay in business with these types of policies and your poor customer service. One thing is for sure I will not be helping you stay in business.
Please do not buy the Microsoft Office being sold by Groupon! It's not a true software. When I contacted Microsoft, I was told the code that is given is for retail usage only. I tried to contact Groupon for a refund and told me it was a final purchase sale and that I need to see the fine print before purchasing. Why would you let this be sold on your website? Please those positive reviews on people that have purchased this are lies. You can't use this software. I will not do business with Groupon again. They should not allow bogus people on their website to sell things without confirming what their selling.
Guys, I will never use groupon again, I bought a service at the salon " Respect Hair Studio", I was not attended to and they received the groupon de ma fe and did not give me my money back $120
0 star for salon and Groupon
I purchased a Groupon weeks ago for a massage. I have left messages for the merchant to call me to schedule an appointment. No return call. So I emailed Groupon asking for a refund. I keep getting the run around about a refund and it's extremely exhausting. Every question the reps have asked, I answered. They asked for the dates I contacted the merchant. I provided the info. They asked if I wanted to explore refund options and I said yes. But no rep has extended any refund options. They keep asking me the same questions by email without offering any resolve. I will never purchase a Groupon again. The discount is not worth the hassle
Purchased a Groupon and scheduled an appointment, the merchant has not shown up or rescheduled 7 times. Cancelled 1st to give kid a ride, 2nd for potential rain, 3rd time because prior cust asked to do another, 4th flat tire, 5th stating he was in Boulder and wouldn't have time once he got back. 6th time didn't show up and didn't respond till 2 days later, asked to reschedule 6 days later. 7th time no show, when I texted he asked to reschedule 2 days later because he forgot to mark me down. I again had already taken time to prepare the vehicle and area for our scheduled appointment and didn't want to wait any longer since not showing up for 7 appointments has delayed my plans significantly so I did it myself instead.
I went to let Groupon know about the situation and the only option I saw was the "contact support page" which only allows 150 character description of the problem which did not allow thorough enough description causing more delay in this lengthy refund process. Then Groupon says that I have to get the merchant to email me stating that he approves the refund so I can screenshot it, to then email it over to Groupon, after completing that and sending them exactly what they asked for and fighting through all that hassle I'm now only being offered Groupon credit bucks. The previous emails with Groupon were about a REFUND, not credit bucks, they were never mentioned by Groupon in any of the prior communications throughout this complicated and time wasting request process. All previous communications were about a REFUND, not credit bucks, they DO NOT meet the "definition" of refund, now being told that I'm only getting Groupon credit bucks is unacceptable.
After numerous attempts to get an actual refund as discussed previously Groupon now says -
Unfortunately, in this circumstance, I'm unable to issue a refund to your original form of payment. For situations like this, we can only offer a refund to Groupon Bucks. These Bucks can be easily applied at checkout.
UNACCEPTABLE
I have been reaching out to Groupon for over a month now and they have flat out refused to help me. I'm extremely upset with Groupon. I purchased a dolphin cruise to use when me and my daughter went on vacation to Florida. After contacting the dolphin cruise - the company told me they would not be doing any cruises the week we were in Florida. Groupon list 2 different numbers for customer service and both numbers were disconnected. I sent email and was told they no longer had a customer service I could reach by phone. After many many attempts at voice chat and explaining my situation - I was told they came to a decision that they would not refund me or give me Groupon bucks because to much time had gone by. 75 dollars was wasted on something that was out of my control. I'll never use Groupon again.Worse customer service I've ever seen- so very disappointed in this company.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.

Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers.
