Purchased tickets for a boat ride in Chicago. Was given a deal but ended up paying twice, once to Groupon and then to Eventbrite. Called several times to both and with each call was told it wasn't their responsibility for the additional charge, or even issuing a refund! I even wrote a letter a letter to Groupon and mailed it to their office. No reply. So for one boat ride for two people I paid over $100.00. Neither company has a telephone number you can call.
Groupon are absolutely thieves. I purchased tickets to Aquatica through their website, unbeknownst to me what was to come afterwards. Apparently due to a keying error by one letter of my email, the tickets were sent to an incorrect email account. As soon as I made the purchase and didn't receive a confirmation email, I knew something was wrong. From that point, I spent several and I do mean several minutes searching their website looking for ways to contact customer service and eventually found out there isn't any for actual paying customers, only merchants. I finally came across an obscure, well hidden link in which I could email the company about an issue that was related to payments. Which btw, they charged my card twice right upfront. So I email them and explain my issues including the double charge and a few hours later a rep emailed me back assuring me he would look into everything and help me with this issue. To make a very long story short, he did nothing but gaslight me. Confirming he could see the tickets but he was not able to send them to the correct email address. He then stoked the flames more by telling me I could recover those tickets by creating an account and linking the incorrect email to the new account and I would be able to recover the tickets they way. Impossible as a password was needed to access the incorrect email which I would not have because the email does not belong to me. After I realized this was going nowhere, I disputed the charges through my bank only to have Groupon reject my dispute. I am out $512. They know I can't access the tickets yet they want to proudly boast all sales are final and no refunds. It's insane because I never ever received the purchase to begin with so they have a free $512 and the tickets. Seems their business model only consists of theft and deception. I am anticipating the day this company goes totally out of business, never to be heard or thought of again.
I'm reaching out regarding some ongoing challenges we're facing with Groupon on the business side. We currently have an active Groupon offer, but there's no way for us to verify the legitimacy of a voucher through our customer management software (CMS). I've requested that Groupon provide a method or API for us to validate vouchers through our CMS, but they've declined. I've also contacted our account manager, David Sprowl, asking to be connected with someone who can help us resolve this issue. Unfortunately, he has not escalated the matter and seems to be functioning as a gatekeeper. Despite several attempts to reach someone else—by phone and through alternate emails—everything continues to route back to Mr. Sprowl, who has been unable or unwilling to assist further. This lack of access to voucher validation is a serious issue. We've already encountered cases of fake Groupons, which are damaging to our business. In addition, if there is even a minor typo in the code we submit for redemption, the payment is denied and we receive no compensation for that customer. We're truly at our wits' end and would appreciate any assistance or guidance you can offer to help us move this forward. We want to continue offering deals through Groupon, but we need a more reliable and secure system in place to protect both our business and our customers. Thank you for your time and help.
Horrible customer service. If you're unable to use voucher you cannot trade in for something else so you don't lose your money. I definitely don't recommend.
On 10/14 I purchased 2 tickets from Groupon for the spartan race in Central Florida for 12/7/24. After purchasing the tickets the online registration was not working, I tried calling and they do not have a working number so I emailed them. After 24 hours of silence I messaged them on Facebook and managed to get a response and after 2 hours of messaging they could not figure out the issue and promised to email me with a resolution. That resolution never came so day 3 now I am messaging them again and they are going in circles with the same trouble shooting from the day before. Eventually I give up because they stop responding and try to return the tickets on Groupon which promised a 3 day refund guarantee. Groupon which also doesn't have a working day phone number says they have to reach out to Spartan race because these tickets are now not refundable per their policy even though they advertise there is and they reply an hour later that Spartan race verified their registration IS WORKING, I try again and it is of course not working. I had no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I will be filing a claim with the court if need be.
Groupon is HORRIBLE. I had this terrifying experience with this so called "doctor" that was suppose to give me one full syringe of Juvederm into my lips. His name is Dr. Kuhlman of 'Inspiring Medical Aesthetics'. He is extremely creepy. I know, for a fact, that he did not use the full syringe. There is absolutely no change in my lips, whatsoever, except one side is bigger than the other. So, this "doctor" botched the entire treatment. On top of this, I tried telling Groupon about my experience and they did not care at all! They gave me $89 in "Groupon Bucks" which I will never use because I never intend on buying any thing on there, ever again! I asked to speak with a supervisor. They told me to wait for an email within 24 hours. I want a full refund for this botched treatment! This is not okay for some one to do this to your face! The little that this doctor did was make one side of my lips bigger than the other. Groupon did not care, would not give me a refund and this email they are sending better or I am never using them again. So, after this "doctor" was done injecting my lips (I've had this done before and it's extremely expensive. I know what it should feel like), I was confused because I felt absolutely nothing. Then, he says we are done. And, there is seriously no improvement in my lips at all! Then, he tries to bait me into buying this app to get me to have points for the treatment where he will obviously get points! And, I did it, thinking it would benefit me, but it just wasted more of my money! I relayed all of this to Groupon and they did not care AT ALL, would not refund me OVER MY DEAD BODY! So, until they do? I AM GOING TO TELL MY STORY ALL OVER THE INTERNET!
While on vacation I purchased a Groupon for an event, but the first time I tried I got a message saying my purchase could not be completed. I figured I entered my credit card incorrectly or something, so started all over again. The second transaction went through fine, but then moments later so did the first one. So now I was charged twice ($182 each). I contacted customer service online immediately and spent a good part of the rest of that day dealing with robotic responses about their "policy" that all sales are final. There was no consideration given to the fact that this was not something I purchased and now wanted a refund for- it was a simple matter of the charge going through twice, moments apart. The event that the Groupon was for had not even happened yet, there was no reason for them not to simply reverse one of the charges. I tried going through my bank, who did investigate, but ultimately could not get the refund from Groupon either because they were told that I had made two purchases, so the bank could not refund me. My bank did tell me that the error message on my first try purchasing would be an error on Groupon's end so to try going directly to them for the refund, which of course I had already done. The can't have a system that sends error/transaction can't be completed messages and then have the transaction go through, when in the meantime I've already made the purchase over again. Groupon did end up giving me groupon bucks credit, but since I don't trust their site and they don't usually offer things that interest me, I don't want a Groupon credit, I just want the money back for the second charge. Their customer service always felt like dealing with an actual robot and sometimes I would receive the same response more than once.
Hi there, wish there was a way to where we couldn't give a star. They don't deserve one. I recently had a horrible experience with Groupon. I lost 120 on concert tickets. There was no ticket purchase with the venue and when I tried contacting Groupon I couldn't. Their customer service number goes to a America's hottest talk line and their email comes back as no longer available. When I finally got in contact with someone, I was given the run around and was told there was nothing they could do.
I purchased Apple AirPods. The item description says they are noise cancelling. They are not. I immediately requested to return them for a refund. For over a week all I get is a runaround from Groupon and the seller (6AVE). I will never buy anything from these crooks again!
They answer real quick for sales. But not for refunds or issues. They have so many fine prints its almost impossible to catch some bs sometimes. Or its tricky and you can misunderstand a lot of it. Point blank they played me and now are giving me the run around. Never again
I purchased 4 tickets to a show. The show got canceled and I didn't received any notice. Other than that, they don't want to refund me and they have really bad customer service! I have tried several times to talk to them ( chat only) and they told me I can't get a refund because of the terms. THEY BASICALLY TAKE PEOPLE'S MONEY WITHOUT GIVING THEM ANYTHING.
I never got to use my Groupon. The merchant's site denied my Groupon and a Groupon representative was able to replicate the error. I went to visit the merchant's shop in person, and they said they could not help me. The merchant told me to contact Groupon for a refund. Groupon had to conduct an investigation. I explained I would no longer be in the same city and would like a refund. Even still, I received a reply to go to try the Groupon again. I cannot try the Groupon again. Because I'm no longer in the same city. I've requested a refund multiple times. Groupon is ignoring my email. And the support option on the site has been dysfunctional for weeks. This is unreal. What a scam.
I'm so tired of this site. They denied me a refund over a year ago for a service I stupidly used to pay hundreds for on their site. Instead, they issued me a credit I have been struggling to use for YEARS. I will ensure I'm done within the next month and close my account for good. What a headache.
I ordered a few items and only once I added payment information did I see shipping costs. I wasn't going to pay more for shipping than the items themselves so I tried to cancel my order but I got a "this page is undergoing maintenance" error, which, conveniently only went away after the items were shipped. I contacted customer service 3 times and was told that they couldn't help me but they had escalated my complaint and I would receive a response within 24 hours. Three days later, I have finally received a response, but have been told that nothing can be done because all of the items have already shipped. I wish I had looked here to see that others are having issues too. Won't order again!
Groupon deactivated my account without notice with hundreds of dollars of active Groupon and Groupon bucks. I've been receiving emails that there is no account associated with my email; I thought the error was on my side, now months later I am just f
There is no way to reach them except for chat and emails which is slow, cumbersome and ineffective. I've been promised hat a manager will follow-up multiple times, only to get no correspondence.
Support asks impractical questions such as last purchase and amount--all information within their portal that they closed all of access to. Support claims the deactivation was due to fraud, but if that is a legitimate basis why not notify the consumer for their protection, or return the money they received/took from my account transactions/purchases if they feel they were fraudulently placed?
I have had Groupon for years and they made the arbitrary decision irresponsibility to close my account. Thus is theft, and taking great advantage of unknowing customers. This is poor service, seemingly a deliberate act of dedperatio by a declining comoany. And a Deceptive practice. Groupon needs to be investigated to uncover the scope of this and to see who authorized this practice. A class action suit may slso be warranted to compensate victims.
I still am yet to receive communication, resolution, or compensation for my lost funds and Groupons.
I bought something as a Christmas gift. It was defective. An agent emailed me and said they would send a prepaid shipping label. I called and emailed for 2 weeks but did not receive a label. Then they emailed me and said it was past the return period, and I'd have to return the item myself. It was a heavy item and cost me $40 to return. Absolutely horrible costumer service. Groupon obviously only cares about $ and doesn't give a crap about customers. I will NEVER use Groupon again and highly recommend all consumers stay away from Groupon.
I paid for a water park tickets on groupon, planned my entire birthday trip around it.
When we arrived we realized about million other people bought their tickets on groupon - which meant hours of lines just to get in, not to talk about lines inside the park!
This made no sense- we decided not to spend our day waiting in line - but guess what? Group on have NO costumer support to call - you can only email them. Every 3-4 days some idiot writes back with a line that is not related to your issue - and you have to re explain your issue! At some point they even deactivated my account - by accident! Now they refuse to refund me - so that's $200 down the crapper! I can't believe they haven't been sued yet!
After buying a groupon for a dog collar I noticed it was not working. I contacted groupon and the company. Both are telling me its not their problem. Groupon has now informed me they will not refund the money even though they know the code isnt working. Save your money and just order from the company itself. Bad customer service
I gave one star due to the absolute terrible Customer service. This is for purchasing Groupons for a local service. You can't request a refund or trade in voucher for Groupon bucks anymore. They make it near impossible to get help, and you can't reach anyone in person or by email. It's all done by chat, which does not resolve your issues. BEWARE of purchasing local deals!
I will not purchase from them again!
You really need to do your research thoroughly before making a purchase. The merchant's operation hour is impossible to schedule appointment and I purchased within a week, did not open the voucher, still not getting a refund. Also, most merchants charge same price in their office without a Groupon. So it's kind of not worth it to purchase a Groupon.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.

Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers.
