Soooo... over the years I've spent a ton of $ on Groupons. I used the majority but let 6 different ones expire. No big deal, they say the business has to give you face value, so what u paid for the Groupon off their service or product. Not one company has valued it. I try to get a hold of Groupon customer service and they make it impossible to talk to someone so they don't have to refund u. The customer service chat is a joke. The operator never connected with me, hung up, then sent me an email of a chat that never happened where the operator took care of the issue. No! Nothing was ever resolved. Also, last 4 groupons I bought no one ever answered the phone to schedule an appointment or they are already out of business. I used to love Groupon, but this is very shady business practices all because you got too big and selfish. I guess I won't be getting my refunds and I won't be spending another dollar on this scam company.
I placed an order on Groupon for 2 licenses of Microsoft Office Pro from a vendor. What I received was a different product. I contacted the company that I ordered them from, and they never received the order. Come to find out that Groupon changed it to a different vendor and different product. I contacted Groupon support/customer service and the best I got out of them after a week was it's in the fine print, and not returnable/creditable, nothing they would do. I did not order from the vendor the changed it to, and it wasn't the product that I ordered. To me, this is bait and switch and fraudulent on their part.
I have never written a review but find it is important to warn people. I bought a Groupon as a gift. When the person I bought it for went to redeem it the number for the company was disconnected. She emailed the company to see what was happening and they never responded. She spent two weeks trying to redeem the Groupon. I contacted Groupon about the company not responding and the number being disconnected. Their response was that they could only refund me in Groupon bucks. Totally unacceptable. What was I going to do with Groupon bucks? I don't buy Groupon's often and felt horrible with how this last on turned out. So this is a warning to be careful what you buy from Groupon - there's no recourse if the vendor has gone out of business or if it's a scam.
I have gotten a number of deals on groupon and my experience has always been terrible. Restaurants refused to accept my voucher! Discount codes never worked! In two occasions I never recieved my items (a cup cake making kit and some pillows) and the hair salons and dentists always make you pay extra when done with a treatment. Stay away from Groupon! On top of all this their customer service is simply non-existant
I ordered a dress and received it within a weeks time. I tried it on it was a little big, I, m not sending it back, i'll have it altered. However, the bead work is a little off center, but i can live with that. Maybe thats why the price was so good. But over all my first time ordering from ideeli was pretty good. I'll definitely order again.
I've been on Groupon for over a year and while I don't visit the site on a regular basis, when I do go, I find some good deals.
I once had a groupon for a restaurant that closed or went out of business, unexpectedly.
At first I figured I just lost the value of the groupon but then decided to contact the company. I received an immediate response and the value of the unused groupon was returned to my account to be used in the future. I recommend this website for the value and the good customer support they offer.
This is my 3rd Order with ideeli... I love the idea of membership discounted shopping sites. The product and pricing that they offer is amazing, but compared to there competitors GILT and Rue LaLa they've got a lot to learn about customer service. I know that the only way most of these sites are able to offer such a deep discount is by cutting overhead, but when you'er frustrated the last thing you want to do is speak with someone via a chat, or email! It may be antiquated but having a customer service phone number would probably add half a star to your rating.
It also would hurt if the service reps that you did speak with via chat / email were empathetic to your issues. No once during my 15min chat did my rep take ownership for their substandard service... Unfortunately this will be my last order from this site... GILT & Rue La La have me for LIFE!

I have purchased several groupons and they have all been honored without any fuss. The only downside I can mention is yesterday when site crashed because of Oprah... I tried several times to purchase deal... got all the way through transaction to confirm payment page and when I clicked on it... it came up server error. Later that day I tried via my phone... and supposedly transaction went thru... however after I had put in credit card info... and confirmed... I noticed web address was buy.groupon.com. I sure hope it was the legit site... I emailed groupon... nothing yet...
My friend is having twins and I wanted to buy her a beautiful dress for her shower. I found the dress on Groupon and placed the order. However, days later it had not shipped. It was supposed to ship in two days so I called and the order was well they could not give me an answer as to what happened. I was able to get a refund and the money was back in my account in 3 days. I ended up ordering the same dress on Amazon and it was delivered in time for her big shower.
Placed second order on 11/23/10, never received it. Got 5 Day Delay email a month after order, offered a $10 voucher I never received, no response to two separate inquiries, and was just told by the live customer service chat that my order was canceled because my credit card they charged 3 days later for a separate order was somehow declined. Cashing in voucher and checking out.

Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?

Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.

Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
