For exactly 120 for a couples massage was not reflected on my account. I contacted groupon and gave them the order number in question as well as screenshots of my confirmation email. Instead of inquiring on the issue they refunded a second groupon voucher I bought for a movie ticket in the amount of 26.45 when I paid 29.45 and skipped out on paying my 3 additional dollars. When I contacted them a third time, my email was blocked. I would have been fine calling and explain this issue but there is no customer service number. Beware of the bs. Groupon is sketchy.
We were so excited my husband was given this as a birthday gift…. The extra expenses have been ridiculous… extra $100 each to fly out from Brisbane… extra costs to sit together on flight… car hire for 3 days cause a very basic motel is not near city, beach, etc…. We were not honoured any of our three Friday and Saturday night options… had to fly out on a Thursday… taking away our income (haven't even gone and down $1060)… gosh I hope our bottom of the peeking order destination is worth it!
I have bought 2 coupons from groupon. The first one was for a hairdresser, which I rang and made an appointment using the coupon, no problem. But they went out of business after, which I only found out after going to their door 3 times trying to change my appointment, meeting a closed door. I mailed groupon which gave me a full refund of the coupon and an apology. Fair enough, not their fault. I also bought a coupon for a jewellry shop though, and that didnt go very smooth. I made an order (i had to order for slightly more than the coupon was worth for the coupon to work at all.) but ok, i made an order and clicked to pay, and thought everything was fine. Forgot about it, then i got back after a vacation and realised i still hadnt gotten the order. Sent a mail to the jewellery shop that claimed they had mailed me asking me to confirm the payment. But I had never gotten a mail... so they told me to redo my order, but then the items I wanted had increased in price, and my coupon had expired... bah. Groupon said they couldn't do anything about this since the coupon was expired, and I guess it was the jewellery shops fault anyway. So my experience with them is split as I haven't really gotten anything from them yet, but I am glad for the refund and apology. I guess they can also be unlucky with the shops they make deals with, but the customer service seemed good to me
Advanced Movers were to transport a Haywood Wakefield a solid, hard rock maple bedroom suite from our house to our son's house 35 min. Away. First, the movers were over 3 hours late. They would not accept the Groupon ($150) but said we needed to pay $205 in cash (though the Groupon was refunded thereafter). I asked the movers to remove the drawers of the dresser and they would not do that. They wrapped nothing until the items were already in the truck and then protection was minimal. I told them they could follow me to our son's location and they agreed but said they needed to stop at a gas station (with minutes ticking on our 2 hr limit). I thought they might need gas but when we arrived they never drove to a pump. I waited about 10 minutes for them to come back out with cold drinks in hand. While unloading, I again asked that the drawers need to be taken out and again they refused. As a result, the dresser was so heavy they had trouble getting it up the steps and damaged the carpet on the landing. A chip was taken out of the dresser and the boards that attach the mirror to the dresser were never taken off the truck and are now gone. One mover took pictures of the carpet and dresser damage and said insurance would cover this. Yeah, right. I have repeatedly called the moving company and no one answers or will return my calls. I am just sick about this but feel I have no recourse. I appreciate that the Groupon was refunded but am disappointed that there seems to be no quality control. Our previous experience was with a restaurant Groupon purchase (Wild Mushroom) but the restaurant went out of business before we tried to use the Groupon. Other Groupon experiences have been good.
Horrific customer service, items are NOT authentic, everything is brand-name-unknown. Oh and be ready to return everything.
I love Groupon because it's instant savings on dining, shopping and entertainment. I highly recommend this site.
Quite often the deals seem to good to be true and they in fact, are. I've found a gem or two on here but outside of that, it's been a bit of a bust.
Groupon admin staff has ben prompt in answering any queries and resolving any issues before they escalate.
Great products everything ships on time and if you need to change anything great customer service experience...
I've bought over a 50 items from ideel and I've returned items I've been refunded my money never had a problem I have four deliveries I'm now waiting on I'm sorry to see them go out of business
I order all kinds of products, jewelry, dogs, health and beauty products. It's like getting gifts regularly
I am trying to get a refund for a coupon that is not redeemable at the advertised hair salon. Two thumbs down for Groupon.
Groupon service is nonexistent. They and the merchant pass you back and forth blaming each other and neither resolves your issue. Bought Sam's club
Tip for consumers:
Don't buy Sam's Club membership from Groupon.
Had an amazing winter coat at an amazing price. Came quickly and it was very good quality. Actually fit well with their sizing charts.
This is a great place to try something new at a fraction of the cost. I own numerous experiences to groupon. Thank you guys!
And i have been using this site often, its hit or miss but more often than not pretty happy with items or travel discounts
Returns or refunds are easy and they offer gift cards you can use onsite if you don't want to use your personal credit card
I've purchased a few services and items from Groupon and you just have to be sure to read the fine print. No issues there.
I received a gift card from Groupon for my birthday. The vendor isn't responding to schedule and Groupon isn't making it right. So frustrating!
Best to take on one offer at a time. I purchased several items. They were sent to several wrong addresses. No help from Groupon!
Tip for consumers:
Best to use by purchasing one item at a time.
And keep info on everything. To follow up on if needed.
Use screen dumps so it saves wring abd is the actual deal in a photo.
Products used:
Clothing mostly.
They advertise businesses that are not doing well... there is normally a reason for that.
Also goods are cheap but quality follows the price...
Prices slashed at a phenomenal scale for many items that we need on a daily basis, plus some nice luxurious pampering on special occasions.
Groupon is a pyramid marketing scheme that will continue to spam you if you unsubscribe from their mail.
Generally the companies that put up groupons need more business and are trying to draw in more customers because:
A) their service sucks and people have been leaving
B) their operation is a sham
C) they want more suckers to rip off of their money
I have had three separate negative experiences with groupon, first with a Yoga place that ended up having fast-talking business scammers who would refuse to even let me take home a price list to try and figure out which one would be the best deal for me, each time citing a ridiculous reason:
"These cost us money, you can't take them home." "They're always changing, it's pointless to take them home because we're always offering new deals." "(laughter) look at this young lady, trying to write down the prices on sticky notes... look, sweetheart, it's really simple..."
The second time was with a salon in L. A. called Silver Lake studio, where the positive online reviews were obviously fake and the conditions built into the groupon ("remember, groupon customers always tip the full amount of the bill... that's what makes them so great!") did as much as they possibly could to rip you off. The stylist that did my hair was rude, aloof, and botched my highlights. He told me my trim would be free and then charged me 20$ for it. It was ridiculous.
Thirdly, I bought a gift card (20$ purchase for a 40$ value) at swell.com, where, despite numerous calls to customer service on both ends, my code is STILL not working.
GROUPON is FULL of SH$T. Be careful if you use this website... and yelp is not safe, ladies and gentlemen. You've been warned. STAY the F$%K away.
You can get great deals... Not all though are great, I've seen some that weren't really worth it. Just know the original price before buying.
I took three deals -
BVS mechanics in hedge end...
They charged 30 for oil abd very poor valet... also in 2 days I had power steering leak... when I went again they said they are too busy to look... 70-75 u can get the servicing in any local garage. Groupon and their dealers are just cheat... they dont bother about customer services.
Kutz n beauty... in portswood road... it took me 2 months to get a weekend appointment... and then the address website puts is 2.5 miles away from the actual then they said its tom tom fault... and provided only half of service...
Raymon redfern photography... in sholing...
He will give you three prints... which are really small... after 1 month... and to get the good quality CD he charges 200 gbp... A robbery... not sure whats the point of having a deal if you have to pay 230 for 3 small prints and some good photographs... just cheating by group on... I will prefer buying a cheap SLR camera instead... a printer and photo paper...
The deals look fantastic... but inside they are bad with poor custimer services...
When Groupon first started, their service was top notch. HOWEVER... that cannot be said now. I ordered a blood pressure cuff (Which, come to find out, I COULD HAVE purchased at Wal-mart for $3 more) 19 days ago ( or as they put it "12 BUSINESS days" ago) and customer service HAS NO CLUE when it will be shipped and WON'T EVEN address a refund request sent 3 times now. The Groupon "terms and conditions" clearly stated that the product would ship in 7-10 BUSINESS days, and in as much they have violated their own policy. I again tried this morning to at least get a status update and I received a reply back "to contact them again at the end of the week if my product hasn't shipped". REALLY? 19 days since the order AND THAT'S all you can come back with Groupon? I smell something fishy going on at this company. So DO the investors at Wall Street- MANY printed stories in recent weeks as to their "accounting methods". One would be WELL ADVISEDD to stay away from this sinking ship! I have no choice but go the route of the "credit card" dispute method now.
Groupon is the largest "daily deal" site, selling vouchers for discounted local experiences and services such as restaurants and spas, as well as travel packages, shopping, and a number of other items. Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers. Groupon is a public company (NASDAQ: GRPN) and is based in Chicago, IL.
