For exactly 120 for a couples massage was not reflected on my account. I contacted groupon and gave them the order number in question as well as screenshots of my confirmation email. Instead of inquiring on the issue they refunded a second groupon voucher I bought for a movie ticket in the amount of 26.45 when I paid 29.45 and skipped out on paying my 3 additional dollars. When I contacted them a third time, my email was blocked. I would have been fine calling and explain this issue but there is no customer service number. Beware of the bs. Groupon is sketchy.
We were so excited my husband was given this as a birthday gift…. The extra expenses have been ridiculous… extra $100 each to fly out from Brisbane… extra costs to sit together on flight… car hire for 3 days cause a very basic motel is not near city, beach, etc…. We were not honoured any of our three Friday and Saturday night options… had to fly out on a Thursday… taking away our income (haven't even gone and down $1060)… gosh I hope our bottom of the peeking order destination is worth it!
Groupon clearly doesn't vet the companies that they feature deals for. And when lousy companies have deals that invariably go poorly, Groupon doesn't provide resolution past insultingly minor refunds in the form of credits. It seems that Groupon now exclusively works with companies that don't provide good services or products with no intention to preserve the integrity of their tool. I will absolutely never use them again.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site at all, just use Google and read reviews.

None because it was terrible
I wish Groupon would let you know if the product being sold is being shipped from out of the country. It seems their clothes run so much smaller and you have a harder time getting your money back. Groupon should back you up when you the items sent were not what you ordered instead the seller has to decide if they want to give you your money back.
This will be my last time of ordering from them.
I bought a voucher from them, I had 3 month ahead to use it, then after 2 months I tried to get in touch with the company which was a beauty salon, they did not respond my phone calls. So I emailed them about the issue, first time no response! Second time they told me that they are sorry for not informing me, the beauty salon just closed! And offer me with my money back.
But a thing is they should be responsible for what they offered, notify me by mail or phone call and automatically repay me, not waiting till I email them 2 times!
HORRIBLE company... stay away. My product never arrived and no one would give me a straight answer as to when I would receive my product. I had to email and call multiple times with no luck getting a response. The worse part of it all was they were so rude to me on the phone. I will NEVER shop there again... living social is ten times better
I have ordered many groupon goods and have generally been very happy. Even my mystery purchase was nice. I got a great headphone set. Once I received only one of a set of bamboo cutting boards and they simply gave me a total refund and let me keep the one they had sent. The only bad experience was with an inferior quality sheet set. They actually tore apart after just a month or so. Otherwise, I really have enjoyed my products and groupon's service.
Terrible customer service! I have lost money in three transactions waiting for these people to refund money. Even after providing cancellation from merchant still no help. Perfect app to swindle money
I put some money into groupon many years ago and have asked several times if I could have my money back. They just say no and state "it's our policy" and don't even care to ask why... Three times groupon has taken my groupon bucks (my money) due to lack of account use. That is stealing! After hours of emails they do put my money back into my account as groupon bucks. Customer service (only by live chat or email) is horrible and I am being kind. For the last 5 years of many experiences I have not once received good service. In an attempt to use up my remaining bucks I purchased Sams Club Membership but it would not go through pointing to my account billing and to change my card---I am paying with my bucks. Okay I get it they want a card as back up so I live chat which to get an answer back in a timely manner seems impossible for them. Bottom line, stay away if all possible unless they get a new CEO b/c it starts at the top.
Use at your own risk. Pros: they do offer some great deals from companies you probably use daily but their are issues with this. Cons: In my opinion you loose relationships with the business by using a Groupon in their store. These business owners usually always loose money on these deals which groupon markets as getting them new customers. I think the owners turn on you for using groupon discount in their store. It is a good and bad site at the same time.
My housekeepers no call, no showed. Then they didn't return my calls 3 times. I contacted Groupon for a refund (or to do SOMETHING) and they directed my call to India or somewhere like that where the lady was just reading off of a response sheet. She kept repeating herself and driving me crazy. In the end, she said that she would help me out. The next day, I got an email stating that I would not be refunded. The guy even suggested that I gift the Groupon to a friend.
I deleted the app. I will never shop here again. Big mistake on their part. I am a house wife who does all of the shopping for the family. I just spent $500 there in the last month. Who needs them when you have Amazon?
My co-worker told me about groupon app, had download it and check it out! Like what I was seeing, with so many great deals of all types. I've purchased a few things from groupon, which was what I've order. Only had one problem with an all-in-one desktop, the company I'd purchased the desktop from. But I was able to receive the help I needed, and everything was resolved with no other problems. When I'm buying anything custom care has to be GOOD! Or I'll never buy from a vendor again, shipment was always fast/secure no problems. So far my experience with the app is A+ for now, so I'll continue to shop through groupon! Who doesn't like coupons? And good deals! Everyone does and this app is a good place, to check out for good deals on everything you can think of.
Bought a black with Silver hardware Michael Kors handbag for my mother as a gift and when it came two weeks later from China, what a surprise! It was a counterfeit knock off with two broken zippers, black and gold and the MK was upside down! $89.95 later, Groupon chat (no phone lines anymore) told me they are a third party and to contact the company. I did six times and no answer. I then emailed Groupon so I had documentation about 28 times in two weeks. They all started with we are so sorry for your frustration,,,, they do not take accountability for the companies they represent. Only after I said I was seeking an attorney and threatened to put this all over social media and the news did they refund my money and only because the business that the represented, never responded back to them either. So crazy!
After searching for the best place to buy flowers. I decided to purchase a voucher for 30$ worth of flowers from 1800-flowers. After visiting their website, I found out that they will charge you a service fee of 15$ in addition to your order! That is not listed in any fine print and really defeats the purpose of any voucher. I should have just purchased the larger flowers and got my service fee waived better then giving groupon my money on top of the flower place. Waste of money!
Absolutely useless site.
I am a small businessman and I desperately need more publicity. I thought this site would do it. Turns out they hate small businesses and refuse to do business with small businesses.
I looked at the "deals" offered and they're just worthless. I can get 10% off in most places just by negotiating. The other deals - you have to buy so much it's just not worthwhile.
I have had good luck with my Groupon purchases. It gets my husband and I to restaurants we haven't even heard of or would not normally go to (which is the reason I am sure that restaurants use Groupon). And it is just fun seeing what the daily offer will be. It gives us a fun game as consumers and businesses a way to get their name out there.
Groupon does not leave an accessible phone number. Their website is just as bad. It took me over two hours to finally cancel my reservations. You should be able to go to my Groupon and check the item that you purchased to hit a cancel sign. They make you go through all kinds of sites to figure out how to cancel a transaction. Shame on you Groupon for not caring about your customers. You could make it much easier to cancel a transaction if you choose so. Buyer beware.
They, did not process orders for days to even over a week after the order is placed. When they ship your items they ship it so slowly that it takes forever to actually get your items and when you call customer service they are very rude. I'm still waiting on three orders that I order and all were supposed to be here no later that today and now because of groupon not filling orders as they should and the only method of shipping they use none of them will be here until after Christmas/ the end of December if I'm lucky and they are all Christmas gifts. I have contacted customer service and they refuse to do anything about it just saying they are being processed and are in transit. There is no way that my items as of 12/20 should still being processed when there site says it will be processed wit in two business days! This is highly unacceptable!
Tip for consumers:
If you need something from here as a gift , I would say order it more than a month in advanced!!
I've bought my last Groupon. I also want to let everyone know to NOT buy the luggage tags by Qualtry. I paid for 2 pink luggage tags. I received 1 tag in a completely different color. Not only that, but they charged me shipping to send the tag. When I called the company, they said they'll send the other tag, but i have to pay shipping again. Why? It's not my fault that you sent wrong one. When I asked about this I was told that they send each tag individually anyway and everyone has to pay shipping per tag. Does that make any sense? If I buy 2, put them in the same dang envelope. Why charge me $4 for each tag to be sent in a separate envelope. Good luck keeping your business open. I highly doubt you'll have any returning customers.
The site clearly states the ship dates and return policy for each sale. I purchase 1-3 items a month and have never had a problem with authenticity or item quality. In fact one item I purchased did not sell out and was listed a week later for $20 less than I paid, ideeli credited my account the $20 immediately.
They don't have a wish list. You have to put everything into a shopping cart to hold onto it. I close my iPad and it purchased everything in my shopping cart. I didn't say purchase or press purchase. Their website is flawed
They send an email out and you have to respond within two hours. Like we're on line 24/7 and it's hooked up into our brain. Not. Their customer service has a I'm sorry policy.
Companies should not get so big that they can't rectify their mistakes. "I'm sorry" these days for online companies is just not enough.
Groupon may seem like a good idea to get new customers in the door, but the reality is that it costs more money than it brings in. Groupon customers are shopping for a deal and do not want to spend more than they intended when they bought their groupon. As a small business, we had to cut our price of our normal service then pay Groupon half of what was actually sold. This is easily recovered in our business if customers would spend any extra when they come in but most do not. In addition, some of the rudest customers we have had lately have been groupon patrons. Our business will never use this service again.
Had one really poor experience (no delivery on goods, no response fr Groupon, finally received a refund) but decided to try another time. Again, no delivery, cannot reach the office, no response to my emails). That's it, I will unsubscribe to all their annoying, phony email deals!
Great website. Love the concept and got me and the hubby a meal for 2 at an exclusive restaurant in Hackney. Looking forward to it!
Especially during these difficult times. I think Groupon will prosper as more and more people are looking for deals and making savings.
These NON compatible Nespresso capsules nearly permanently damaged my Nespresso machine. They are NOT compatible. Furthermore after many emails and phone calls Groupon has yet to reimburse me. I am still waiting to see if my machine will work properly again. If not I will contact a lawyer and sue for capsules and a Nespresso machine.
As for the coffee company Global Coffee Traders, they too have offered little assistance. They said there hands are tied. Well I am not stopping here. This is totally unacceptable!
Tip for consumers:
I have ordered from Groupon in the past but I never will again if this is not handled shortly with a full refund.
When I tried to question them on a deal, they closed my account, and my family's account without any reason to. My family have separate accounts, and somehow they looked into the other accounts and closed it stating they can't use the same cc #, and totally closed their account. Even when they had other cc, groupon would not work and they closed all the accounts. This is the worst company ever! Never heard of such a thing. Luckily I just recently started using them and also printed out my vouchers, so I didn't lose too much, but imagine if I didn't. Totally ridiculous company!
I'm a regular customer. My love to this website has started long ago before I managed to earn my own money. I always needed discounts to save on the services, so groupon was the right choice for me. I still use it habitually, but the service is not quite the same. Don't know what was the reason and what influenced them, but it changed.
Groupon is the largest "daily deal" site, selling vouchers for discounted local experiences and services such as restaurants and spas, as well as travel packages, shopping, and a number of other items. Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers. Groupon is a public company (NASDAQ: GRPN) and is based in Chicago, IL.
Hi KM,
Thanks for sharing your experience! As you mentioned, we do our best to make the shopping experience as transparent as possible by listing expected shipping dates and our return policy directly on the sale page. All of our items are authentic and received directly from the manufacturer or a licensed third party to ensure quality. I'm so glad we were able to provide you with a price adjustment. It's our goal for you to always be as happy as possible with your purchases. Thanks for being a part of ideeli!
Best,
