Check your receipts. Past month Grubhub has been increasing service fee after order delivered when charge posts to account. Food price, tax and tip stay same, but their service fee increases. For example when orders placed fee $4. Final charge then $4.80. How is this not illegal? Beware!
I'm only reviewing because of all the negative reviews! I can't believe it! This is absolutely the only way I order food anymore and have been doing so for about 2 years. I've never had a problem though once or twice I had an issue with an actual restaurant itself. Grubhub is just a mediator. If there's a problem it's more than likely the restaurant, not grubhub. Have a problem? Call grubhub anyway! Their customer service is beyond outstanding. They'll comp you for the restaurant'a mistake and you don't even have to ask.

They are still advertising for a restaurant that has stopped doing business with them. I put an order in for the restaurant. Thank goodness I call them to get my extra stuff to be charged. The restaurant told me they were not working with GrubHub anymore. So could you imagine if I had just waited for the forty -five minutes before I called. It would of been a whole hour and a half maybe two before I would of spoken to anyone. So now I have to wait three to five business days before I can get my money back and nothing to eat either.

I'm going to try them again because I "found out" on my own, they deliver from one of the best private owned pizza houses in the area. They didn't tell me, for weeks I poured over Dominos and Subway and other " food/cardboard" franchises. Let's see what happens. This Company Is Hated Amongst New Bedford Business Owners.

I was offered free delivery from my Amazon Prime account the first order was never discounted the second on never got discounted and was cold and stale because I suppose the driver GPS dont work the driver thought I lived N.E Minneapolis I live downtown in the ALTRIUM APTS Across the street From the Central Library on Hennepin Ave so The third order was not delivered the driver took a picture as customer service says but its not my apt building I dont knw where it was taken Customer service is not good I asked several times where is my order because I live on 3rd Hennepin the Mcdonalds is on 22 and Hennepin they denied me a refund now me and my baby have to go hungry and I got ripped off GRUB HUB IS THE WORST EVER DELIVERY I EVER EXPERIENCED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT HELPFUDI willl be taking my orders elsewhere

I accidentally ordered to the wrong address. I caught the error right after I made it. With no phone number to call, I was forced to have to interact with Grubhub through online chat. When I gave the correct address, I was told it was too far away. I then asked that my Visa card be refunded. I was told several times that they do refunds. Only Grubhub credits!. Thanks for the great first impression experience Grubhub. I should have read the reviews first. After I use this credit up, Never Again! Very bad business practice.

There is no customer service even though they claim there is once your order is complete you Cannot get any help from anybody -- they just keep sending you to their help page, which has no help on it, Naturally. Just a lot of useless articles and no way to reach them. Initially I had a chat feature but that disappeared evidently because the order is complete. They ripped me off by charging me 25% tip without my permission. I was never an option for a tip and I never in 10 million years would've picked 25%. I always tip 20% and they have a lot of nerve defaulting to 25 and then not even showing me the field. Total and complete rip off I would never use them ever again because there's no way of reaching them when they have ripped you off. Not to mention that the restaurant did not get the extra message I sent asking for gluten-free soy sauce so it ruined my meal and I was vastly overcharged. Supposedly this was free via Amazon and indeed I was not charged a delivery charge but there were so many extra charges it ended up costing me an additional $10 above the price of the actual dish. And that includes the four dollar tip I did not approve. I would never ever use them again and I suggest you do not either.

I ordered food through GrubHub for the first time and they ripped me off enormously. A $14 dish ended up being $24 even though I have free delivery through Amazon. This is partly because they arbitrarily tipped the driver 25% without my permission. I was never shown a place to add a tip and evidently they defaulted it to 25%. That is completely totally outrageous and means that I will never use their services ever again. In fact, the restaurant did not even get the special message I added indicating I required a gluten-free substitute for their dressing. A total disaster a total waste of $24 and never again will I use GrubHub For any purpose whatsoever. This is another one of those big tech companies that should be put out of business.

Restaurants no longer offer delivery. The upcharges on Grubhub and other deliveries are much too high. What once was a treat has become inaccessible to people who care about not wasting huge amounts of money on delivery fees. I don't feel right skipping tip, so I just don't order. See cart pricing. OUCH.

Why do they add all of these fees? If you have to pay fees, there shouldn't be a tip expected. If you skimp a driver a tip you will get bad service, so my hands are tied. Restaurants providing their own delivery service was at least a little less than these vendors. I am sad, but I cannot afford their food anymore if it costs this much for a delivery.

I cannot afford all of the upcharges and then adding a 20% tip. Grubhub made ordering pizza from my favorite pizza restaurant totally unaffordable. I am so sad. I miss getting pizza delivery, but rates charged by other delivery services are also similarly overcharged like Grubhub is.

I made the mistake of using Grub Hub again. Every time I do, the delivery time changes several times. After the third time change I called customer service. She apologized and said if the food arrives cold the total order would be refunded. The order was 90 minutes late, of course it was cold. The soup was spilled and it looked like my meal had been picked through. When I called to collect my refund, I was told they could not refund. They offered a $10 credit on my next order. Holy crap! Really? $10 of of an over priced, cold, late meal? I am good. Grub Hub is horrible and their customer service is even worse.

Placed an order from George's Pizza. Got an estimated delivery date by 8:30. Three delays later and the food is still not here. I called the restaurant and asked if I could come pick it up. They said sure. My partner went to get the food, while I "chatted" with the help on the app. They canceled the order AFTER I told them my parter was picking up the food! They also claim, on the app, the restaurant is now closed, which is a lie! Clifford, the "chat representative" then closed out the chat on me. 🤬 Don't use GrubHub. They aren't worth it.

Driver completely ignored important delivery instructions and had dumped my BD, Dinner-In-A- bag outside on the edge of a small, unprotected and shared deck. Hot food left outside at dusk, in the winter is bad enough. Ignoring Disabled homeowners instructions to "Push doorbell upon arrival. Please do not leave bag!
Inexcusable. My neighbors must have returned from Synagogue just after my order was supposedly delivered. A total of 4 adults w/6 children (4 infants in 2-Double Strollers) navigating a 13' x 12" x 3" shared condo deck from a broken brick pathway cd have easily not seen a small bag dumped on the deck. It's inexcusable that Driver couldn't be bothered to read & follow simple instructions. No one but the customer is expected to assume responsibility for anything.

The jerk that delivered my "splurge pizza night," left my $40 pizza on the front porch in 35 degree weather. They didn't call, text or even knock and run. I found it when I locked the front door on my way to bed. I called grub hub to complain and get a refund the the $10+ fees they charged me, after. 14-minute call, I was told the best they can do is give me credit. LOL! As if I would ever use them again! Hysterical. I hung up on the lady, who was from another country. Can't deliver a pizza or hire people in their own country! Never again. The picture below just shows the pizza charge, I paid $38.88, so they ripped me off by $12.82. Jerks.

Grubhub sucks. Their app is not interactive. It took an hour to get a delivery that I would normally pick up from the same restaurant in less than 15 minutes. Also, they do not give you all of the menu options, so I was forced to pay for a dinner priced meal instead of the lunch specials this restaurant offers. On top of that, I ordered from a mexican restaurant and I did not get the chips and salsa that always comes with my to go orders I pick up myself. I called and verified with the restaurant, and because it was a Grubhub order, they do not provide the chips and salsa without paying extra for them. TOTAL SCAM. So I now paid a tip, delivery fee, service fee and had to pay for dinner pricing (portions are the same for lunch and dinner offerings) and ended up with less food. Ridiculous. Not sure how Grubhub is still in business. I only delivered because my car is being serviced and I was without a car at this time.

Want to order food when you're hungry? Want to wait 45 minutes for it, then have the driver mark the order as delivered but never actually deliver? Then use grubhub! Call their customer service number +1 *******878 and get some foreigner to apologize and issue you a refund while you're pissed that you're still hungry. I absolutely LOATHE this garbage company. Use anyone BUT them.

I ordered food from a local restaurant via Grubhub (I don't want to mention the restaurant because this is NOT their fault).
The food was delivered 30 minutes past the order time but an hour and a half after the order time (based on the food quality, I think the restaurant made the food immediately).
The food arrived late, but more importantly COLD. Not just "not hot" or "barely warm," but COLD.
And it was nasty. There were "fresh" toppings that were completely ruined.
Grubhub offered $5 on a NEXT order.
Why would there be a NEXT order?
I paid $21.00 to waste an hour and half of my time to get nasty food.
Tip for consumers:
Customer service agents are not helpful. They basically keep repeating that refunding a bad order is against their policy - you can have $5.

I literally just downloaded grubhub app last night because I wanted some different options to choose from than what I've been use to on door dash. I ordered from conviction chicken here in Dayton Ohio; I wanted to add onion rings to my order; that's it. I was charged for THREE orders all with the same things; chicken wings and fries basket and onion rings. I tried chatting with someone to cancel the extra orders but she only managed to cancel one so I ended up getting two orders of chicken wings and fries and two orders of onion rings; I chatted with someone a few minutes ago and of course they said they can't issue a refund because it was already delivered…so it's safe to say I'll be deleting this app today because I'm not going to be robbed by some app; I refuse.

Driver left bag on my steps. No name, order info and opened bag to find steak with cheese and fries. I ordered Kung pao shrimp and hot and sour soup. Called Grub Hub and got refund. The Mexican food was really good and I got a free meal. Hope the person that got my Chinese food liked it.

I seriously don't know what happened to this company but they continue to completely not show up or deliver anything on time if even at all. If you have any questions about where to spend an over priced delivery fee to have a vendor not show up, grub hub is the place. I am canceling my account and will never use this company again. Customer service? No, you can't even talk to someone when you have been sitting waiting to feed your family and they tell you it was delivered and there is no food anywhere in site. I have driven to my neighbors houses several times thinking they dropped at the wrong house but nothing turns up. When I go online to see the photo of the food delivered I get a message that says they can't pull up the photo. Odd… of course they can't, because the food wasn't dropped within two miles of my house.save your money and don't spend a premium on a company that has zero accountability and that you can't reach.

The driver's always take the longest possible route to your house and what should be like 45 minute delivery from store to table turns into a 2 hour delivery because they absolutely suck and then they think that by giving you a $5 credit somehow that makes up for them adding all that time! You literally could have walked to the restaurant and back home with the food faster! I am so glad this is a free service with my prime membership or else I'd be asking for a refund on it I've ordered from GrubHub five times the first time GrubHub canceled the order without me even knowing and then I had to argue with them for refund don't know why the second time my food came and it was so cold I had to heat it up in the oven the third and fourth time I swear the delivery driver took like the longest back road possible and again my food arrived cold now this time I ordered at 6:00 it is now 7:30 and it's still saying that my food won't be delivered for another half hour

I am sick and tired of all these meal delivery companies low standards for employment. I want a dependable company. When I order food I'm hungry and too busy to shop. I have been left waiting for an expensive food order only to find the remains on the
Sidewalk in a common area. This time the door dash order actually came to the building entered through the front desk the door man called me but food never made it to my door. I called the doorman and said she went in and came out with it and left. She pretended to deliver. Omg I'm starving now I have to figure out something else and its late.
I recommend getting a refund which I did and cancel any members or monthly charges and delete the app.

2nd time using the service and it's the second time my food was late, cold and missing items. Customer service is terrible and doesn't offer a proper refund. Can't review drivers and have to tip before receiving your order. Bags are not sealed.

I will never use them again! I live straight down the street from the restaurant that I ordered from. I had to place my order 2-3 times and still did not receive my orders/food.
I had two different drivers and either one of them delivered food, one delivered to a business that was CLOSED and the other driver delivered to a mailbox! Very detailed driving directions were given, and I don't understand why they didn't find my address or try to contact me at all. I tried contacting each driver and they would not answer text or phone calls. These drivers are so unprofessional,
I finally ordered from a different company.
