“Fees increase after delivery”

Check your receipts. Past month Grubhub has been increasing service fee after order delivered when charge posts to account. Food price, tax and tip stay same, but their service fee increases. For example when orders placed fee $4. Final charge then $4.80. How is this not illegal? Beware!

Waste of money! Waste of time! First of all, it almost always takes an hour or more for your food to arrive, but once it does, the orders are usually wrong if you EVER put a comment in the note box. Whether it's something simple like "no pickles" or something a degree in astrophysics might be necessary to understand like "sauce on the side." THREE out of FOUR orders were wrong! And they call the restaurant and offer a refund of the item ONLY if the restaurant agrees to it. Huge waste of time and money, and we keep having to spend extra time (AND MONEY!) going out and getting other food to replace it.

STAY THE &*$% AWAY FROM THIS ROBBERY SITE!

2nd time using Grub Hub... both incidents... NO FOOD! Looking at other reviews, this is what Grub Hub allows. Customer service is useless... will never use again. Door Dash forever

Tried for the first time. No call, no follow up, never even tried to make it happen. I would have just driven there if I didnt believe they could deliver.

Your process sucks. If you have no accountability for the restaurant to actually be able to confirm order and verifyy you are delivering nothing. Give up, your model is shot.

Previous experience with grubhub was not good. We had a driver in the area who would take all of the tipped orders and then (with then tracker on), go, park somewhere for hours at a time. Grubhub took no action.

Fast forward to having a baby. We received a gift card and attempted to use the gift card. Grubhub refused entered the card onto the account and the …charged our account anyway. Again, just had a baby, and can't use grubhub gift card for diapers. Grubhub told it was our fault because we did not select them gift card as payment. We can't, and screen captured the options where the gift card was not coming up. Grubhub ignored it. They refused to transfer the balance to the gift card and will not refund the gift card back to our account. Ergo, we have a ‘gift card' we cannot use because their screwed up system won't let us, and they will not refund the gift card … meaning they basically just stole the amount. We've had to initiate a dispute through our bank and will be closing our account. Not having these types of petty issues with DoorDash or Uber Eats, and will, never, again expose ourselves to this behavior. They can't even figure out how use a gift card and think customers will allow them to screw with their families? They've just gone nuts. They think they should get to choose whether families need diapers or grubhub? Done with these guys.,

Use any other food delivery service.

I am waiting for more than 2.5 hrs for the delivery. Please do not order from here, their service is pathetic. The staff is rude and doesnt give proper answers.

My driver arrived with one small bag and I knew right away that this was not my complete order. I looked inside and sure enough, it was only half of a very large order. I let him know right away and he explained (not so nicely) that it was against policy to drive back to the restaurant. I called customer service and sure enough, that IS their policy! The first person I spoke with over the phone insisted that *I* call the restaurant and go pick up the order myself! I hung up and called the next person and she also said their policy is to NOT check the bags to make sure an order is complete before leaving the restaurant, and they do NOT ever go back to re-deliver... but that if I really needed my order, that I can call the restaurant and go pick it up myself. Um... isn't that why I just paid you a whole bunch of money to deliver it? Not only will they NOT refund you, they refuse to refund the delivery charge! Bad, bad business practice. Oh, but wait, they sent me a $5 off my next order of $20 or more coupon! Never again.

I had a decent experience when I ordered for the first time from a restaurant, using Grub Hub, BUT when I tried, and tried and tried again, the site didn't remember ANY of my info, so it was a nightmare! Plus, there really aren't many GOOD restaurants here! Also, ask yourself why don't they allow reviews on THIER sites!

Their service in not a convenience! Not only does it take longer to make your order, It takes forever to get your food delivered. RESTAURANT OWNERS BEWARE... THIS WILL KILL YOUR BUSINESS. My order of a cold sub sandwich, spaghetti, and a salad took 1 hour and 40 minutes on a weeknight. Typically the same order arrives in 45 to 60 minutes at the latest. Never again.

I ordered from Dusties in Matteson who has a contract with Grub hub. My ham hocks was missing my food was placed on the porch doing Covid 19. Dusties said they have had many problems with Grub hub and unfornately they cant do anything because its a contract. I CANNOT!

DO NOT GO ON THIS SITE TO ORDER! GO TO DOORDASH! This site took my money 2 TIMES! Then they gave us 9! I SAID 9! I called exactly 19 times they didn't answer then I looked up the actual number and they never picked up! I called popeyes 3 times they said they NEVER got my order I CALLED EVERY POPEYES IN MY CITY! Overall they charged my 34.00 for a sandwich and some chicken I waited 2 hours for them to come and watched the driver drive in circles missing my house exactly 4 times! AGAIN! DONT GO HERE!

First time user and visiting Dallas, I saw an advertisement for Grub Hub. My wife and I decided to give it a try. We ordered from a restaurant with a five star review. We were told our order was 100 mins out after our order was placed, but decided to stick with it. Our ordered was delivered 30 mins sooner than quoted, but incomplete. My wife's entire meal was missing. I called the number provided on the invoice. After speaking with Brittany, I was told the only thing that could be done was to have have our original request fulfilled. I asked to speak with a manager and Brittany said she was the manager. I said, so you're okay with a one star review then? And she said yes, you're an "American and can do what you want". I was upset now and said, so that's what you're sticking with? You don't care that your restaurant is getting a one star review? She said, "well, it's not my restaurant, and you're an adult who can do what you want". When I tried to respond, she hung up on me. I found the number for Grub Hub's customer service, and called and spoke to Whitney. She was polite, and at least courteous. She said she would apply a $10 credit to my account and call the restaurant to see if they would comp the entree. I was happy she was at least was respectful. I received a text about five minutes later that said since the entree was being sent out again, the restaurant would not comp the entree. The entree took another 50 minutes to arrive, even though we were told it would be 25 minutes. I'm a first time, last time Grub Hub user. I will not be using my $10 credit.

The foodler/GrubHub merger has been a disaster! Foodler never had such problems. The GH customer service can be great when the numerous problems pop up, but this week, it just took a nose-dive. Items left off of orders, surly drivers, fighting with and through GH customer service to get corrections made, promises of refunds lagging when they hadn't previously, courtesy discounts to compensate this regular customer for the overall bad night of service promised but not made good on. Even when I called to follow-up, it still did not reflect the promised email evidencing the courtesy discount, on top of the meager refund for the kid's meal that had missing items. By the time I fought them and got the items and promised refund and discount, (the latter verbally) I was spent and lost my appetite. It was like I went hunting and prepared and cooked my own food, which is not the point of ordering this expensive food. This is becoming an abomination that will have me looking for another food service. Too many days of bad food and/or service, with this week being the absolute worst. If you make a promise GH, keep it! Don't? That is called bad faith or worse, just bad business. I need to cut you off like a bad ex.

AS A DRIVER FOR THEM, THEY STEAL OUR TIPS, THEY CALL US AND TELL US WHERE THEY THINK WE SHOULD BE FROM CHICAGO NOT EVEN KNOWING THE AREA WE ARE IN, AND THE EMERGENCY LINE TO CALL THEM ON IS A 20 MINUTE MINIMUM WAIT! $#*! THE COMPANY. $#*! THE OWNER. AND $#*! GRUBHUB! SHEISTY BASTARDS! USE EAT24, DOORDASH, ETC. STOP USING GRUBHUB AND LET'S ALL PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS!

DONT ORDER FOOD using GRUB HUB. I ordered food in a restaurant where the restaurant is like 2 miles away from me. I ordered at 2:30 PM. At first, I got an email saying food will be delivered to me at 3:30 PM. I called GrubHub at 3:45 PM to know about the status because the food wasn't delivered at 3:30 PM. The girl on the phone said the driver is like five mins away. I called again at 4:05 PM because food didn't come. A guy in customer care picked up and said you would receive food at 5 PM. The customer care $#*!ING LIED to me. Worst customer care and worst delivery system. Stay way from GrubHub. If you are hungry use Ubereats, it is better, and at least they will make food free if they don't deliver it on estimated time. These people gave me zero compensation for taking 2:30 hours to deliver my food and lied about it.

Tip for consumers:
Stay Hungry or Use some other app to order food. Don't even think about ordering food using GrubHub. it is a $#*!ty delivery system and a $#*!ty customer care.

When you sign up to drive for GrubHub, they send you a corporate card. Do NOT activate it! Doing so will lead to time consuming "Shop and Pay" orders and "Place and Pay" orders. Shop and Pay is basically being a personal shopper for someone, where you have to go to a store, find the requested items, pay for them, and deliver them. Place and Pay is far more sinister. This is where GrubHub lists a restaurant in their network though the restaurant is not actually signed up for GrubHub. Drivers are expected to go to the restaurant, place the order on behalf of the customer, wait for it, pay for it with the corporate card, then deliver it to the customer. This is GrubHub trying to make their restaurant network appear larger than it really is, and should be considered fraud, in my opinion. Also, GrubHub has little market share in comparison to Uber Eats and DoorDash so drivers can't make as much money, as there is often long lag time between orders. The only positive about GrubHub is the quality of their bags. Uber Eats supplies none and the Doordash bags have paper thin insulation. It is worth signing up for GrubHub just to get the free delivery bag but otherwise isn't worthwhile.

I ordered a meatball sub from Subway via Grubhub. I live in a 12 apartment building. It is 23 degrees outside this genius of a driver placed my food on the concrete OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING. He said via email he left food outside of my door I asked where he started it was outside of building. What kind of drivers does Grubhub hire? I give them 0 star review...

My order, over $60, has typed over in the bag. The food containers were sideways, and all the Mexican food plates slopped on top of themselves and leaking all over the bag. Ruined my dinner!

I have never ordered through Grubhub, because I wasn't confident in the fact that they could provide the service they promise. Today, I finally did and my intuition was correct. I ordered at 5:10PM and the estimated delivery time was 5:50PM, but then updated to 7:50PM. This was the first and now the last time I will use them. I called the if-you-have-any-questions number and was on hold for 10 minutes. They apologized, but then said they couldn't do anything for me, so I cancelled my order. I also included a tip for the driver, but when I paid online, the tip amount had magically gone from $2 to $5 (yes, I know that's cheap, sorry). So, from the time I ordered to the time of delivery, 2hrs 40min would have elapsed? My family is staring at me going, "What the hell, dad?" and I have no answer for them. This is a joke. How do they expect to stay in business? Please don't use them; there are many other delivery companies to use as an alternative.

I placed an order to be delivered to my wife while she was at work. The driver got to her address, called my number and texted me, and when I didn't respond (because I am a teacher and cannot take a call in the middle of teaching a class) the driver left without even attempting to go to the front door. I then contacted Grubhub through the app's help line about the situation and was told that I cannot get a refund, and had to reorder if I wanted the delivery to be sent. She then offered me a discount code and then ended the message without asking if I had been satisfied with her service. I tried calling their contact line and explained my situation on the phone. The operator told me that I was offered a discount and then hung up on me. I called a third time and prefaced the conversation with the fact that I was very agitated and before even being able to explain my situation, the operator hung up on me. Not once did I yell or swear at any of these operators. I called a third time and immediately asked for a manager. After waiting five minutes the manager came on the line. I told him my situation and he sent me a code for the amount I spent on the delivery (not a refund to my card). As helpful as this was, upon using the code to checkout, the app told me that the discount only applied to the cost before taxes, tip, and delivery fees. So the code I was given for my inconvenience did not even cover the cost of reordering my order. This is not how business should be done, and the fact that I had to call three times (because I was hung up on twice) is despicable.

I ordered specifically from a 45 min or less restaurant offered on GrubHub. The order was placed at 12:09 estimated delivery 12:45 to 12:55 ok doable. Then it changes to 1:05 now we are almost an hour. I call to check the check with the driver another 15-20 min for delivery. I asked why the restaurant forgot the drink they made the order again. I am chatting w/"customer service" and advise this is unacceptable and need to reverse the charges. They can't do that they offer 15% off my next order (mind you this happened to me 2 weeks ago took almost an hour for delivery when it was promised in 35 mins). 15% is like $1.50 which does not even cover the delivery cost. I did not accept the discount they then took $10.00 off my order ok I can live w/that but they said still 15-20 mins away I asked why they said they are assigning a driver? I said you just spoke to the driver they were like well we don't have a driver it is now well over an hour and they are telling me they don't have a driver. I asked when my food would arrive they don't know so they offer to refund me I say ok but I still need the food. I am now having to "chat" with them for 15-20 mins and still don't have my food. I then get an email that the order was canceled I asked why they said since it had been so long since the order and no delivery their system cancels the order. I'm like what? No food lots of aggravation and lying will never use Grubhub!

I placed an order of Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken and Tiramisu. I got Fried Zucchini, Pasta e Fagioli and Eggplant Parmigiana. The restaurant gave me a refund the next day. A week later, the Delivery Charge and Tip still had not been refunded. I contacted GrubHub to ask about that refund. It was explained to me that while the restaurant gave me a refund, GrubHub would not be because, after all, I did receive a delivery. Yep, it was the wrong order, but it was delivered.

I am so not joking.

And the tip, the driver still earned that.

Thank God I put it on PayPal. They got my money back. Thru with GrubHub. There are too many other companies out here to put up with their nonsense.

I have used Doordash and Uber Eats plenty of times, rarely ever an issue, can't even recall one. Grubhub I've experienced more issues than I have with any delivery service or retailer combined. Practically every time I order from a restaurant, it's delayed, and completely screws up my schedule. If not that, then drivers who either get lost and can not find my address and then have the nerve when I try to help them, to be snarky and tell ME to leave better directions in my order?!, or call me a million times when I state that I'm available to speak on the phone or be in the phone because I'm working. The message I receive back is that my order is unavailable and if I don't answer I won't receive my order…I don't even understand that. Picking up magically makes my order available? I was texting and stated I can not speak on the phone I am in a meeting at work. I've never had a delivery service call me so many times. I had 10 missed calls. I decided then and there I'm canceling grubhub and going back to DoorDash. I reordered the same order, got here within the delivery window, no phone calls, left on my porch, without a single problem.

I placed an order for my company. My order was supposed to be delivered within 35-60 minutes but it took much longer than that and in the midst of waiting, I called the restaurant to see what's the status and they said the order has BEEN ready but simply has not been picked up. So I start a chat with ""customer support"" to find out what's going on and not only were they terrible at responding but also not helpful at all.
When I started the Chat, I stated my inquiry and when the rep comes on she asks "how can I help you" (pay attention). Next I tell the rep that I already contacted the restaurant and they confirmed that the order is ready and she has me sitting at my desk waiting for a response from her. So I ask her "if she's still online" and she says "yes, just trying to get a hold of the restaurant". I repeat to her that I already spoke with the restaurant and she says "oh I'm trying to get a hold of the third party courier".
Finally I told her to cancel my order and she says again "oh I'm just trying to get a hold of the courier" and I repeat "I want to cancel my order!". Eventually she finally gets the message and cancels my order.
I was so disgusted with my experience with them.
Never EVER again will I give them my business.
