“Fees increase after delivery”

Check your receipts. Past month Grubhub has been increasing service fee after order delivered when charge posts to account. Food price, tax and tip stay same, but their service fee increases. For example when orders placed fee $4. Final charge then $4.80. How is this not illegal? Beware!

I placed an order at 6 pm, got the confirmation on screen that the order was received and should deliver by 7:20. By 8 pm, I called the number provided, which is another company - Food For Delivery or something like that. They had no record of my order and told me to call the restaurant or a number they had for GrubHub. Called both, GrubHub put me on hold for ages, meantime spoke to the restaurant who also had no record of my order. Finally the GrubHub line picked up, and told me the restaurant uses another delivery service, basically blaming them, and that they would call and check - basically calling the same number I did to begin with, and they were told the same thing - order not received. Massive run around, meantime my credit card is already charged. GrubHub canceled the order and promises a refund, which I have to wait 3 - 5 days to receive on my card - if I ever do. This is the second time I've used them, first time food was pretty late but at least it got here. Wish I'd seen the reviews here before I used them. I won't use them again until I see at least 4 starts on this site. Recommend staying away from this company.

They wouldn't refund my meal that was never delivered because they couldn't contact their own driver... yeah. Happens more often than not with Grubhub.

About 3 weeks ago when I received a phone call at 1:45am from a very upset delivery man, who had an area code to a state at least 3 hours away from me, I dismissed it as a wrong #. Well since then I have received about 20 missed calls/angry voice mails from delivery people stating they are outside waiting with my food. Needless to say, they all have the same area code and all have the same issue. At first I thought someone literally didn't know their own phone # and had been giving mine, until this past weekend. I got a very angry phone call from a grubhub representative looking to speak to me in regards to my missed order and failure to answer the door. Ah ha I thought, here we go, someone has an account and has input my # by mistake, let me just call them and have them remove my number. WRONG. Grubhub refuses to access this persons account and remove MY phone number. They said the best they could do was call this person and ask them to remove my #. They promised the woman said she would edit it. Well she hasn't. Today, she has failed to answer the door for another pizza and I'm getting slack for it. Grubhub is still no help. They say they cannot deactivate her account and need HER permission to remove MY phone #! HELP!

I'm switching to DOOR DASH. Ordered food on Monday and never received as they had an incorrect phone number. They withdrew from my bank account and just credited me back with $20 vouchers only to use one at a time. They can take it all out of my account at once but they return it in separate transactions. I have used them many of time before. Tonight, tried to use 1 of their vouchers and order food to only be charged the remaining balance on my debit card for the order ONCE again, not to show up. I even text and called the driver to advise of my correct phone number to ONCE AGAIN say delivered and NEVER Received. I advised them to GIVE ME FULL CREDIT and my voucher back. IF ANYONE wants a voucher FOR 1/2 the price for this type of service email me at *******@yahoo.com. DOOR DASH GOING FORWARD. APPEARS THEIR REVIEWS JUST CONTINUE TO GET WORSE. OBVIOUSLY, THEY DONT HAVE A GREAT MANAGER TO RECONCILE SITUATIONS LIKE THAT WHICH IS BAD BUSINESS PRATCIE AND BAD ON GRUBHUB.

I've been using Grubhub for about eight years and noticed a general decline in quality of the service. From having wrong info on menus to wrong hours for restaurants to other errors. Plus, their service fees have been getting more expensive. Recently it seems like one out of three or four orders ends up being canceled for some reason. It's annoying to wait for an hour or more only to get a notice saying your order was cancelled. This morning I waited 1 1/2 hours and and just had an order canceled. I contacted them and asked for more than just a refund. They refused. So, I cancelled my account and am leaving negative reviews.

I don't often leave negative reviews. The last time I wrote a negative review was for a Veternarian who wanted to euthanize my cat even though after taking her for a second opinion I found out she still had many more weeks to comfortably live. So, I'm not one to complain over trivial annoyances. Seriously,. Grubhub has become absolutely terrible. Do not waste your time and money with them.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it. There are better options.

My girlfriend, myself, and my two daughters ordered through Grubhub. I sat behind my girlfriend and watched her select 'delivery' AND enter a tip percentage for the driver. Payment is processed, and to our surprise the confirmation showed we needed to pick it up. Customer service was a joke. So, some questions:
1. How can I select delivery and it gets changed. I am web application architect, and this just doesn't happen.
2. Are they so technologically inept that the don't have the ability to examine an audit trail and find the problem? From the other reviews, this isn't an isolated problem.
3. "Bc the order was confirmed by the restaurant we can't refund your order." B. S.
4. Who the hell gets the tip we entered?!?
5. Any lawyers wanting a class action to brighten their next year are going to have a freakin' field day.
6. I will be writing up this experience in several forums, and each day I shall provide an ever more vicious critique, both to all members of management and to all grubhub employee emails I can find.
7. My entire network, from Microsoft to Google to Amazon to the Big 4 Consulting companies will be informed, with a copy of the customer service rep's assinine response.

After reading all the terrible reviews I thought I might never see my dinner, however my order came 30 minutes earlier than the ETA. Pleasantly surprised. This was in Orange County, CA.

They take your money, then when your order is supposed to be delivered you get a text saying your order is canceled no reason why. Then it takes 5 to 10 business days to have your Money nack on your card! They try to say its based on your bank which is bs. Its based on tjem when yoyr Money is refunded! I am pissed and want my money refunded immediatly! Dont order!

0 Stars! I recently had ankle surgery and thought Grubhub would help my dilemma of getting food without having to venture out on crutches. I am so frustrated I couldn't take it any longer. I have placed 45 orders in just over 3 months. More than 2/3 of the orders have something wrong with them because of how they are handled by the drivers. They consistently throw the food around their cars, don't read the order notes, and shove the food at you when you arrive. The final straw was receiving my pizza and soup from CPK today that was stuffed sideways into their red delivery bags. The delivery guy was being driven around by someone else and spoke no English. He approached my door and opened the bag to have me remove it for him (most likely because he was afraid of the spilled food inside" and looked at me like oh well when I questioned how is was being carried. The customer service rep sounded like a robot with repeating "sorry for the inconvenience" a hundred times and had no real care about the point I was making about the type of people that are working for them and representing them. Stay away like the plague!

So I signed up to check out GrubHub and when I did I realized you can only deliver in your delivery region or as DoorDash you go online and can deliver anywhere which is why DoorDash will always be better until GrubHub makes it to where you don't have to go through a lengthy process to switch your delivery regions and makes it to where you can just go online and deliver wherever is busy they will never be as good as DoorDash

I had to change an order so I called the restaurant and they had no problem changing it but I had to call GrubHub to change the order so they did not get penalized. When I spoke with customer service they put me on hold to call the restaurant and then said the restaurant had made the food already and I would have to pay the full bill which I can understand that but I had spoke to the restaurant prior to speaking to customer service and it was okay. I then called the restaurant back and they were still okay with changing the order so customer service lied to me. To make things better when the food was supposed to arrive the restaurant had called me and inform me that GrubHub had cancelled the order after they had made the food because they did not have a driver. So after speaking to the restaurant owner for the third time he told me that the reason why GrubHub told me it could not be changed was because they make 30% off of the order and they still wanted the money. In the photo is a email receipt of the cancellation by GrubHub but blaming the restaurant. I guess GrubHub is not done lying yet. I'm very dissatisfied obviously i will not use GrubHub again

I'd been using GrubHub for a while now, mostly because I'm lazy, but I am now inspired to fix my own darn food. Twice they offered a restaurant of the day that's closed for remodeling, but you don't find out until your food is due to arrive. I'm at work at 5 am, so by Noon, I'm pretty hungry, and working in a customer facing job, being hangry is not an option.

This week despite being notified food was here, it took 2 hours to replace an order than had been dropped. Accidents happen I understand, but 2 hours later? I was on hold for 35-40 minutes at one point. I felt like it was a battle of wills, will I hang up before the answer? No.

Then the next day, restaurant was closed - or decided they didn't want to work with GrubHub anymore (can you blame them?) and we weren't notified until lunch time, 1 hour later, we get the food from the backup restaurant. The fun part was, that I logged in to the app to place the new order while I was on the phone, the operator quotes me $9 higher than my app, I log in to my computer, that I usually use and I'm quoted an extra $5 off the lower price, they were going to charge me double over the phone what I ended up paying!

Today, my food arrives on time, but things I can't eat are on it, despite my asking for them not to be included. Second sandwich still incorrect, but edible this time. Not GrubHub's fault, I understand that, but really three times in a week? Not that they haven't tried to make amends, but it's too much of a hassle to deal with. You bet I'm going to be watching to make sure things are credited back. I'm done.

PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE ORDERING!
I ordered from grubhub 3 times, every time delivery took at least 30 minutes later, but latest experience was the worst. Aftyer we ordered food, we were communicated that we will get food an hour later, in an hour and updating the delivery time, we got an info that it's going to take another 30 min, then another 30 min... at the end, more then 2 hours later, just after we got that the order was completed and is on the way, we received a phone call telling us that there was a mix up, and they don't work with the restaurant, and they have to cancel order --- 2 HOURS LATER! Really? Refund issued, which i might get couple days later... seems like a scam... and a 5$ off the next purchase... NO WAY IN HELL I'm going to order from them again!

I paid a almost 100 bucks for three cheese steaks and cheese fries LAST friday. 20 Mins before it was suppose to be delivered they canceled our order and i have still yet to get my refund. It feels like there trying to steal from me. DONT SUPPORT THESE THEIFS

I order tacos for my boyfriend and I from taco bell took delivery person 1 hour get to my home come cold. I ask for full refund. I never got my $33. Back. I am still mad about it.

I have ordered twice. We had to go pick up the cold food the 1st time and they canceled the 2nd order hours later after saying it was delayed! Don't do it! It's a trap!

I ordered from Grubhub many times, but this time, my experience was so bad, I will never order from them again! I am so upset, I'm shaking, and crying! First of all, I was unable to change my contact information from no contact, to meet me at the door. Even that I could overlook, if the driver had been civil. My directions clearly state the color of the mobile home I'm in, and to not get confused, and go to the mobile home next door, because of how the mailboxes are positioned. He parked in front of that mobile home, and got out of his car to walk up to it. It was obvious he hadn't read my instructions, so I called him to come over to my home. I stated to him that I clearly outlined that in the instructions. And he got very, very nasty, and said, "What did you think I was doing?" I proceeded to tell him that he didn't have to be so nasty, and then he told me that I was the one who was nasty, and proceeded to call me sick in the head! I am a senior citizen who just lost my husband very suddenly, and now, am about to lose my home. I am in the process of moving, as a developer has bought our park, and we all have to be out by the third week of April. This was the last thing I needed! They lost a good customer! This experience left such a bad taste in my mouth, I will NEVER order from Grubhub again!

Every time Ive used them I've been screwed, Which was only twice, First, order was totally wrong when I received it and I know they don't check them when they pick them up, but there should be some kind of assurance of a right orders, Second, the place I ordered from closed when they got there and I received a call from GrubHub saying I will be receiving a refund within 5 to 10 business days, That was the 26th of March and still no refund, even after multiple emails, the last email I asked if they would at least just tell me I'm not getting the refund, no response,

Ima keep it simple. I understand it's a balance to try and make this affordable AND keep employees. But you havd failed miserably grubhub. By what logic does a 10$ meal turn into 25$? No.

I would give them a zero if I could. My friends ordered a couple of large meals through Grub Hub (more than 24 hours in advance) for my family who experienced a death in our family. They wanted to do something nice for us and provide us a few meals during a difficult week. 42 minutes before the first day they ordered meals service, my friend who ordered got an email that said "Hey there, We have some less-than-ideal news about your order. Long story short, we weren't able to place it with the restaurant. If you have any questions, please call our customer service..." No apology. No nothing. They had contact details for both my friend who ordered, and us who was receiving the meal. They should have immediately picked up the phone to inform us so that we were not left waiting for a food delivery that never came. A phone call directly to them provided no apology to my friend either. Needless to say my friends canceled the remaining orders. It an unacceptable way to run your business and you should be ashamed!

Let me start by saying that this is not a review based on one, two, three, four, five, six or even seven orders - it's based on EIGHT different orders from different restaurants at different times of day and every single time they screwed it all up. Like others have said, I've had the wrong order delivered, almost always it's delivered between 45 min - 1.5 hours later than their original time. At that point I'm usually not hungry and so frustrated that it becomes a cereal night. They never contact you to tell you they are going to be running late, their customer service sucks and they never offer you a credit or anything for the complete lack of competency. This time, I called the restaurant and they said my food was sitting there for an HOUR! What the hell? The restaurant is about 10 min from my house. Two hours later I called and cancelled. Guess that's my lesson in why I shouldn't be lazy. Never ever ever ever ever have they gotten an order right - never. So. Clearly I'm done and you are all forwarned.

We're a Chinese Restaurant in Madison, WI. We have had a few online platforms represent our company to provide a nice online ordering experience for our customers. GrubHub, however, is not one of them. We've asked them on numerous occasions to stop, and they promise to take it off their website. Very often a few days/week later, they will resume with putting our restaurant on their platform. When I try to escalate the issue to their customer care reps, they send me to restaurant care, when I explain the problem to restaurant care, they send me back to customer care. The loop goes on and on. They don't care to be a business of integrity. The fact that I refused to take a GrubHub driver's order of one of our unknowing customers, he gave us a 1 star review. On top of that, he told our customer and that customer now thinks we're the bad guys and also gave us a 1 star rating. They steal customers away from us and potential tips that should belong to OUR drivers, not these snakes. Now we've recently been blasted by the driver with the 1star rating and from our customer, why? Just because we are trying to defend our restaurant? There isn't even a way to rate grubhub on Google, that I know of. They take zero responsibility and accountability for their actions. Also you may be asking, why not get more business with GrubHub? Well, when they take 1 to 2 to sometimes 3 hrs to pick up the food we prepared, just to deliver it to our customer, it leaves a very bad taste in our customers mouth. Not to mention, we are the ones that get blamed for it. So, something needs to be done.

Just ordered from here and by far was my worst experience! I placed an order at 4:30 pm and didn't receive my order until 8:00! Food was horrible and will never order with these guy's again
