“Fees increase after delivery”

Check your receipts. Past month Grubhub has been increasing service fee after order delivered when charge posts to account. Food price, tax and tip stay same, but their service fee increases. For example when orders placed fee $4. Final charge then $4.80. How is this not illegal? Beware!

Absolutely terrible service not once, but TWICE. First time they never deliver my food until four hours later. The driver arrives right before I'm about to go to bed and says "Sorry I got stuck behind a train." Yet grubhub could not get a hold of said individual when I had called after an hour and a half wait. The food was cold, and they were going to give me a refund. At the last minute, the guy on the phone asks if they can do a gift card instead. I say fine why not. They don't tell you it expires in 30 days. Skip to 5 months later, I finally decide to give them another shot. I go to use the code and it's expired. I'm on the phone for nearly 40 minutes until they finally figure out what is going on (they apparently have no records of it, even though I have email correspondence from grubhub to prove everything). They say they will issue another code, I say okay. Skip another hour, still no code. I call again and then after another 20 minute wait they say that they can't send me a code at all and that there is nothing they can do about it. I was very cordial and polite up until I wasted all that time and could've just been eating with doordash instead. Going to make sure I never use grubhub again and call me petty but I'm not afraid to tell the dozens of customers I have daily about the experience. All over $20 that they apparently need (probably because they lose so many customers).

Delivery without customer service, I order chips at a restaurant he set a term that my package will be immediately message me as it gets picked up. No message called. Delivery man cell # was given. Man that answered phone seem confused after given address. The only words this person knew was DUDE DUE IN DIFFERENT TONE LEVELS. FOUND PACKAGE, AND A LOWER DUDE TONE. A missing link dropping off food unannounced.

Better off doing pick-up or ordering from a restaurant that does their own delivery. When you add a third party and there is a problem, you have no recourse. Food delivered 2 hours after you placed it? Cold and inedible? You are SOL. No refund for you. If you contact GrubHub, be prepared to have your order number ready because even though they keep you holding in chat for 5 minutes while they "retrieve your order information," they can't do anything until YOU give them your order number. And then, they still can't do anything helpful. I was in chat for so long trying to get a refund, it became humorous. If you pay using PayPal and attempt a refund through them, good luck. I received a response from GrubHub that read, "The listing accurately described the item you received." I swear on my children I did not order cold and inedible food. Some restaurant item can be heated up easily, others not so much, ya know?

I can certainly see why they get so many terrible reviews. Perhaps if they screened their drivers more thoroughly, They'd make some headway in the 1 and 2 star area.

We've been waiting very long and we have tried to contact them but no one will answer and the only thing the phone does when you do call them is make horrible ear piercing screeching noises.

So I have used them many times in the past, but have never been so angry as I was tonight. I ordered mexican food and 3hours later they lie to me on the phone telling me my order was cancelled when the driver arrived to pick up my order, which if true would have been at 8pm when it was supposed to be ready. I spoke to the driver via text and he said that he was still waiting at around 9pm. Shortly after I put in a help ticket and was told at about 10pm my order would be here in 15 minutes. When it did not arrive, I called the help # and was told by the person who answered the phone that my order was cancelled when the delivery driver arrived to pick up the food. This could not have been true at any time. I HATE being lied to and hence forth will no longer use their services. As soon as I verify I got my refund.

Who's fault?
I place an order "No Onions" - HOWEVER., a full sandwich covered in onions.
NO straws included for drinks
AND the driver didn't even knock!
This is the first and last time I do that

Go get your own food

I am assuming they do not want the drivers tipped very well or us not to use the service at all. $6 for a delivery fee for PF Changs and it is 4 miles from work.

Purchased gift card 10.16.2020. Credit card was charged on 10.19.2020. Recipient never received gift card. Did the customer service chat THREE times (first two times the SUPERVISOR said someone would contact me within 24-48 hours), third time the SUPERVISOR said they can't do anything about it and gave me a phone number to call. I called the number and was on hold for OVER 58 MINUTES and no one ever picked up! GRUBHUB STOLE MONEY FROM ME AND ISN'T DOING A THING ABOUT IT TO GIVE ME A REFUND! ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE DEALING WITH THEM! USE ANOTHER SERVICE! NOT Grubhub! Horrible customer service! It's been OVER 2 months dealing with this! They obviously don't care bc they got my money!

I've used Grubhub in LA and in Phoenix for a few years now. They've always had great customer service. I think some people are confused about how Grubhub works... they take the orders and relay them to the restaurant. They are not actually responsible for the food or the delivery of the food. Some restaurants even cooperate to allow for text updates letting you know the restaurant has received the order, and when the delivery driver is on his/her way.

I've had probably 6 or 7 issues with orders (such as, the restaurant was closed for the day due to equipment/personal issues but did not tell Grubhub, the restaurant lost my order in the kitchen and found it an hour later, the restaurant's delivery driver didn't show up for their shift, etc.). All but once the restaurant called me and told me themselves. Every single time Grubhub has immediately refunded my card and given me $5 site credit with sincere apologies (even though none of it was their fault).

I'm so glad Grubhub is around, and will happily continue to use them. It enables easy online ordering from a variety of locations from one website, doesn't charge extra on top of restaurant delivery fees (like delivery services do), and has great customer service. Thanks, Grubhub (but I miss Yummy Rummy!)!

I received a totally wrong order and have now waited almost two hours for my food. They blame the restaurant... but they need to take responsibility for poor delivery.

The most overrated food delivery website out there! So many restaurants without online ordering whats the point? I usually order from eat24hours.com best one in the market by far.

Grub hub is awful! Do not recommend at all! Cancel orders after I've been waiting for the food to arrive several times! I'll never order off grub hub again

Placed an online order and waited for an hour and half only to NEVER hear from Eat24. Tried calling the restaurant directly to learn that they'd been closed for over 30 minutes. This food delivery business (I can't call it a service since OBVIOUSLY there was a lack of service or rather NO service) totally and completely SUCKS!

Order just never came. Looked on the website and it said "cancelled". However, they certainly charged my card and I can expect a refund in "5-7 days". Never again!

Ordered food and it sat at the restaurant for an hour before being picked up. Even the restaurant said we should have used door dash they are more reliable.

I have purchased food delivery with GrubHub on several occasions. Two of the times my food has been an hour late and cold. I do not recommend this service.

Don't waste your time or your money. Wait times at 2 plus hours and additional fees not worth the money. Uber Eats can't get to Reston VA fast enough!

They take way too long, they advertise establishments that are CLOSED as of they were open and let you place orders, their drivers are largely rude and unprofessional and the last time I ordered through grubhub they brought ENTIRELY THE WRONG ORDER and their driver refused to correct it. He literally texted back "well what do you want me to do about it?" Uh... how about COME BACK AND GIVE ME MY CORRECT FOOD

This Company is headquartered in Chicago which is your first clue. They STEAL from the drivers and lie about money. If THE FEDS INVESTIGATE THIS COMPANY I THINK ALOT OF PEOPLE WOULD GO TO JAIL MONEY LAUNDERING, EMBEZZLEMENT, AND BANK
FRAUD ARE JUST FOR STARTERS AT THIS PLACE. SCAM THAT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

My son waited over an hour after the delivery time and still never got his food! Customer Service tried to blame the restaurant... but it was KFC! Terrible service!

Used grub hub twice. Both times the order was delivered over 45 minutes late, after my lunch was over. Food was cold and gross. Ended up throwing it all away. Do not waste your time...

I have been using Grubhub now for a while and comparing their service to postmates. It's been pretty good. Sometimes they will mess up a couple things in the order but generally pretty dead on.

I live in Tampa and ordered at 9:23 from a local restaurant. At 9:40 I received an email saying the order was being prepared. At 10:56 I went online and it showed my order still being prepared. I called the restaurant who stated that they were called by Grub Hub to confirm the order, but during that conversation Grub Hub cancelled the order! GRUB HUB CANCELLED THE ORDER I PAID FOR and the driver was at the store. WTF? They wanted to give me a $5.00 credit. Wait, what? I am not getting my order and you are not refunding me? GRUB HUB cancelled the order. I have ordered from them several times and got the wrong food, orders showed up late and cold. Their customer service sucks! Please do yourself a favor and go with a different company!

I got scammed by grubhub! Ordered at 8:30, driver never even went to the resturant, texted to make sure he was okay, he was fine, 10:00pm came, called their customer service (the resturant was closed then) and she kept telling me to call the resturant and the driver to make sure everything was okay. I told her several times the resturant was closed and I DID text the driver with nothing. Finally she said she issued me a refund and never did. Customer service a week later was no help at all, said they voided the transaction but never refunded me my money, so now I have to put in a fraud claim to get my money back. Never again. Never.

Tip for consumers:
Don't. Avoid it.

Worst delivery service - no delivery person while our food was waiting at restaurant for over an hour. Another time took 2 hours - needless to say we will no longer be using EAT24 - go to hell!
