“Fees increase after delivery”

Check your receipts. Past month Grubhub has been increasing service fee after order delivered when charge posts to account. Food price, tax and tip stay same, but their service fee increases. For example when orders placed fee $4. Final charge then $4.80. How is this not illegal? Beware!

I highly suggest staying away from the broken monstrosity that is this service.
This was one of the very rare times using this app.

We put our zip code into their app online and a different restaurant popped up 3 hours away than the one we normally visit. Of course, we thought it was the one near us because everything looks identical and we ordered for pickup. We went to the location near us once it was ready and there was nothing there.

We called customer service then to figure out what the heck happened.
"I'm sorry there is nothing I can do for you" on repeat for 30 minutes is what we got. No matter how we tried to explain what happened. No matter who we spoke to. And as soon as there's any pause in conversation, no matter how short, "Thank you for calling and have a great day" is said as soon as humanly possible and then they hang up.

We have no food, no way of getting it without traveling for 3 hours. The restaurant doesn't have delivery people. Grubhub won't do any refunds. Won't send anyone to deliver to make up for their massive glitch issue. There's a reason we rarely use the app. Absolutely will never use grubhub again.

So here I am rushing around in the morning no time to pack food, gotta get to work before I'm late. I need breakfast. I thought I would give grub hub a try. Wanted to get some breakfast burritos from Taco Bell. Add my stuff to the cart, my order was only $7.77 which is a pretty normal price to pay for breakfast. Goto checkout and behold, GrubHub is ready to charge me $18.66: D

They added the following:

Delivery Fee: 3.99 (i get that)

Small Order Delivery Fee: 2.00 (ok what the hell is going on here?)

Service Fee: 0.97 (as if the delivery fee and small order fee werent enough)

Sales Tax: (tax is tax i guess)

Driver Tip: ( maybe its optional, however i wasnt even given a choice if i wanted to add that or not it just computed this for me)

At this point where is the convenience / deal? You go from wanting 8 bucks worth of food to spending almost 20 dollars.

On top of this you still have to wait a while to get the food.
So i guess if you have deep pockets this may be a service for you? I dunno.

I had a $10 that cost me $19 after fees and minimums ($25 after a non-insulting tip for the driver). The driver delivered my order to a treatment facility several hundred yards from my home. I reached out to support to get the order replaced and I was told that because the store completely botched an order (that they did not want photos of on their chat or to an email) like 2 months ago, and they refunded that, that my account was now "suspicious." When they said they can't refund OR replace the order, I asked them directly if they robbed me. I was told to contact my bank "if [I] feel the need to dispute it as [I] claim the order was not received."

I understand that the agent on the chat makes terrible salary and has to deal with a lot of upset people of varying degrees. I get that the business model is to rob and steal from literally every possible place, but dang. This was a bit much for me. It's only $20 but how many times a day do they do this globally?!

I've never had a good experience ordering from Grubhub but I decided to sign up to drive anyways because Uber Eats will $#*! over their drivers at the drop of a hat.

I can't even sign into the driver app. I've talked to support twice. The first time they sent me a form to create a support ticket which they closed 20 minutes later without even contacting me. The second time I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a woman who ostensibly didn't even know what the driver app looked like. Constantly gave me suggestions to do things that I couldn't do without first signing in. I described to her 4 separate times that I couldn't sign in AT ALL before she finally told me she would have tech support call me.

Do they even train their phone support people? At all? How is it possible that "I can't sign in" takes 45 minutes to understand? This lady didn't even know what the app looked like let alone how to help me.

I'm at my wits end. If this is how Grubhub handles support then I don't want to drive for them.

You should use ANY OTHER food delivery service but whatever you do, DO NOT USE GRUBHUB. They have absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and their delivery time is appalling. Use them at your own risk and I GUARANTEE you that you will be supremely dissatisfied. I would have given them a ZERO; however, the lowest rating this site allows is a 1.

I ordered via online order, paid online etc. Kept getting email updates then 93 mins after I order I call the restaurant and they say the never got the order, I call GrubHub to be told the pizza palace never confirmed, well why the hell did u a) still take the money from my account if my order had not been confirmed and B) be told it will take days to be refunded my money if I cancel, I have them call to confirm order, ten mins later I call and be told it will be here in an hour as GrubHub calls and says they told them they were closing and not accepting my order, but they were supposed to be open another 2 plus hours. Now I'm stuck with no food and days before I get a refund

This is THE worst food delivery service I have ever experienced 95% of my orders were either wrong or missing parts of it. I deleted the app several times but always went back to give them another chance, but yesterday I just snapped. I ordered a spaghetti dinner, pint of sauce and meatballs from my favorite restaurant as I've done many times. I even left a note for the driver to double check to make sure my order was complete. Firstly, I had requested that a text be sent to me that my order had been delivered. No text. So I go to the front door and there it is. I pick it up and I knew instantly that something was wrong because it was too light. The pint of sauce was missing. I call the driver but he won't pick up. Shocker. So I call Grubhub. Long story short the driver (JOHN) lied, stating that everything was there when he dropped it off. I live about three miles away from the restaurant and they would not make him go back and get my sauce. They basically called me a liar and that the only thing they could do was credit me the $3.99 for the sauce. I didn't want a credit; I wanted the damn sauce. They (CASSANDRA) put me on hold for at least 15-20 minutes but they wouldn't help me; but I was promised a supervisor would call me within 24-48 hours, like that's gonna help. They don't make their employees responsible for their mistakes and they're going to lose customers as well as restaurants they're working with. Worthless company.

Worst food ordering service ever invented. I tried using their supposed 24/7 chat line to check on my food order that was taking longer then expected and I could not get anyone to reply on the live chat, which supposedly someone was on with me but could not answer any of my questions. What a worthless service that can't walk the talk of what their service is supposedly about... THE CUSTOMERS! I finally got my food after an hour and 50 minutes which I declined. Let's see if they will credit my credit card or i'll just have to do a chargeback. DO NOT EVER USE THIS SERVICE.

Really don't know where to start with
Really don't know where to start with Grubhub but I know I will never ever order with them or from them ever again had the most horrible experience I am 900 miles away from home in Miami Florida ordered food $50 on my card No food was delivered my money was not placed back on my card and I'm just wondering how many other people have went through this with Grubhub I don't feel like this company should not be in business sad to say instead of trying to make the situation correct they wanted to offer me $10 promo coupons instead of just saying hey here's a 40 or $50 credit and reorder food but No instead I was given over to a manager by the name of Cesar F that made the experience even more terrible I will never ever ever again order from GrubHub

I'm done with Eat24. Nearly every time I try them, there is an issue and it would normally be easily solved, but because it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone (live chat or via their "help" number) you're left wondering about your order status and feeling helpless if you need to correct anything. So frustrating and lame.
In my most recent case, their site froze just as I paid with Paypal, it said something on the screen like, "Sorry, our dog ate our site"... so I tried to look and figure out if my order had gone through prior to the frozen site and wasn't sure. I checked emails, checked history and decided to order a duplicate since the restaurant was nearing closing time and I didn't want to miss my chance. Then I attempted to reach someone to make sure I didn't have two duplicate orders, but after almost 25 minutes "on hold" on my phone and no response on their live chat either, I gave up. No information, no order, no dinner... NO GOOD. I'm done with these ridiculous clowns. Calling local restaurants directly from now on :)

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH GRUBHUB. GOOD CHANCE YOU WONT RECIEVE YOUR ORDER IT WILL BE HOURS LATE AND DISGUSTING AND GRUBHUB WILL DO NOTHING BUT OFFER A FEW DOLLARS CREDIT. WILL SPREAD THE MESSAGE TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. GO TO DOORDASH! MUCH BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MORE VARIETY OF RESTAURANTS

I ordered from TacoBell and approved the outrageous total. The food was good and arrived fast which is why it got an extra star. My issue was, the next day I received an email, INFORMING me, that they charged my cc more than the total I approved! I'm not ok with them just upping my total and charging me whatever they want WITHOUT my approval OR knowledge!

I used doordash for years til I found gubhub they have excellent service always on time and everything is priced lower that doordash plus doordash fee suck you pay for dash pass to get no delivery fee but that is not always the case always seem to get orders wrong call customer service and all doordash says we're sorry but by then they have your money please wake up as I did doordash has more advising on TV but don't let v then fool you use grubhub you will never look back as I haven't.

I ordered food from Thai Kitchen 4 in Southington CT via Grub Hub on 2/23/2017. Today, 2/28/2017, my wife found an odd charge of $7.17 from La Quinta Inn in Vermont with a restaurant category. I then reviewed our account and found another charge of $1.00 from Square*SQ*Lori Bar out of Pennsylvania also a restaurant category! I reviewed Grub Hub online and found they actually had a Class Action lawsuit against them in 2011 for fraudulent charges! This is unreal! DO NOT ORDER FROM GRUB HUB EVER!

I recently was gifted a grubhub gift card so I decided to use their service for the first time ever. I placed my ordered and started tracking it. The time came and went, and even after an hour, nothing arrived. I called the store, and one of their employees rudely told me that they don't even use grubhub anymore and shrugged their shoulders basically. I then went to online chat with Grubhub to get a refund and to let them know the store is inactive and should not be listed for orders. The person on the chat told me twice that the order had been "confirmed" by the restaurant and offered no recourse. I had to explain the situation several times. It is not my responsibility as the customer to verify that the restaurants listed on Grubhub are active Grubhub servicers. It is the customer who loses money if Grubhub does not verify. They eventually refunded me (at least they said they would), but I should not have had to fight tooth and nail to get refunded for a listed active restaurant that is not even using grubhub anymore!

I ordered my food around 11 pm and said it would get delievered qround 12:08 am ended up "arriving" at 1 am and they tried "contacting me " that they had arrived and didint get my food. Had to call to see where they were because in the app it hadn't even said deivered yet. And waited for 20 min to get an answer. I couldnt get a refund which is complete bs because i didint even get my food. Feel so stupid for even ordering on this stupid app! Never again!

Grubhub is atrocious. If I could give ZERO stars I would! Not only are they constantly late, they lie about why they are late. They often claim the restaurant is the problem, but after using other delivery services it's clear they don't have the driver network to complete timely orders. They also lack quality customer service and when orders are delayed there service team points the finger at the restaurant and or the driver. This IS NOT a good company. I have spent thousands of dollars on corporate lunches which were notoriously late and finally began using their competitors; DoorDash, and Postmates and found no delivery issues. I only ordered again from Grubhub because of an American Express incentive. My mistake SMH. I strongly encourage anyone contemplating using Grubhub to reconsider! There are better choices for guaranteed and timely delivery, especially when you're buying a corporate or office lunch or when you and your family are hungry and take a night off of cooking. Grubhub is the worst of the worst, buyer beware!

I was trying to order some food for a friend staying with her newborn in the NICU. At first, the service seemed good because they contacted me when some items I had ordered were not actually available, due to an outdated menu. But apparently my updated order was never sent to the restaurant. I wrote in to their chat service a couple of hours later, and the person said they had no information and to write back later. I wrote back a couple of hours later and the person said the order was cancelled because the store was now closed--it had never been sent to the restaurant during its open hours. I asked how I would be compensated--because they must need to make this up to me, right?--got a whole lot of nothing, just excuses. They said, oh when the food isn't delivered, we don't keep the person's money. I was like yes, because that would be illegal...

They said they could ask if the local delivery service was willing to process my order for free, rather than them taking responsibility for who they contract with. Classic amateur move--just passing the buck. Well, I didn't contract with the local service, YOU DID! You said you would provide me with this service, and YOU DIDN'T!

Failed to deliver anything and did not have the ability to correct orders. Waited nearly 2 hrs to find out they couldn't even get the order right. Don't use this. It's is a complete and utter joke.

Got my food faster then the folks who left no tip try leaving a 10 collar tip instead.of 1 dollar no ones going to go out of their way for a 6 dollar payout in rush hlur

Waited 2 hours got a text from Grub Hub in process. Called the resteraunt and they don't use Grub Hub. Their customer service could care less! I will never use them again.

From a HOA order: Tulsa, OK delivery to 450 W 7th St Tulsa OK t approximately 8:15pm on 8/14/21 drive in a red Toyota Corolla tag number JZK-513 parked in a No Parking zone across the entry drive on a sidewalk that can not bear the weight of an auto. I am a director on the property and I went outside and told him he couldn't park there and told him to move his car but he blatantly ignored me. I then again instructed the driver to move the vehicle but he refused. I called the security guard and while I was gone he told one of our employees I was crazy. Our employee then told him I was correct he needed to move his car. Our employee is a witness to the incident.

Grubhub should fire this driver, period.

Tip for consumers:
Try another delivery service like Door Dash. Door Dash is very considerate.

We place an order through Grub Hub and after more than an hour late and many phone calls to the restaurant we learned that the food was ready a half hour before but the Grub Hub driver hadn't shown up and never did. When we called Grub Hub to find out what was going on they HUNG UP on us. In the end we went and picked up our own food at the restaurant. If I owned a restaurant I'd hire my own drivers and FIRE Grub Hub. We will NEVER order through Grub Hub again after this experience. It's true: it doesn't get any worse than this!

These people charge so much but absolutely no costumer service. Keeps pushing back the delivery time. Almost 2 hours later, the order still in the same spot. Just dont waste your time
