“Fees increase after delivery”

Check your receipts. Past month Grubhub has been increasing service fee after order delivered when charge posts to account. Food price, tax and tip stay same, but their service fee increases. For example when orders placed fee $4. Final charge then $4.80. How is this not illegal? Beware!

I have used GrubHub for a couple of years... at least twice a month. In fact, it was my delivery preference and I would not select restaurants that used DoorDash as their delivery source. Until tonight. I placed an order at approximately
5:20 PM and the delivery time was said to be 45 to 55 minutes. At 6:30, I checked the status of my order and learned that the new ETA was between 6:24 and 6:33. A couple of minutes later I checked again and learned that it had been delivered by Douglas at 6:24. I called the restaurant, LaScala in Santa Monica, and was told that once the food leaves the restaurant they are not responsible. After raising my voice and asking for a supervisor, I was called back by someone who said she would contact GrubHub and call me back. Of course, she didn't. I called my nextdoor
Neighbor to confirm that the order had not been mis-delivered... it hadn't. So, I texted the "Help" line. Oscar couldn't have been nicer... but, unfortunately, they are not responsible for a delivery that does not arrive to the person who placed the order. Out of the goodness of his heart, he offered me a 50% discount on my next order. No thanks!

I like to order using this app whenever I can't decide what to eat. Every time the drivers call to let me know my food is here, they are very rude!

The first time I ever used this app, I wasn't aware that you had to add the tip to your total order or tip with cash. Well I don't always have cash on me so I was waiting to sign the receipt so that I could add tip. No receipt to sign... I kindly told the gentleman the situation and that I was unaware of the way the tipping system went with yelp eat24. He rolled his eyes and proceeds to walk away. Then about 5-10 minutes later, the driver calls to pretty much harass me about the tip. He called about 7 times and banged on my door insisting that I needed to tip him or he wouldn't leave! Thankfully my fiancé came home and tipped him with cash and gave him a little talk on how to be a little more polite about the situation.

After that, I decided to give them another shot, a few more chances actually. Each time, the driver is rude, in a rush, and not very personable. They just don't have any customer service. I probably will NEVER order from this app again

My experience was terrible. I never really order from them but I did because the carona virus. So I place my order and I wait. About 30 min later I check the tracker on grub hub and it says that they didn't even pick it up yet. I get a text saying the delivery time would be pushed back about 20 min so I can the restaurant. They informed me they were on the line with grub hub customer service cause no one ever came for my food (that didn't take long to make at all). They tell me they never sent a driver and the restaurant was closing. They offered to hand deliver my food for me so they could also go home since they were closing in 15 min and grub hub wasn't even coming. So I agree and pay again by phone to them and then call grub hub to complain and cancel my order. I tell them they never sent a driver for an hour at that point to get the food and that the restaurant was closing. They didn't even believe me, put me on hold to call for themselves, and then apologized. Told me it would prob take a few days for me refund. My order was 32 dollars, I had to repay my already made food of 20. And on top of that when I found out my order for the exact same food was 23 before any taxes delivery fees or driver tip for grub hub, the restaurant only charged me 19 and change. I was over paying them for the exact same food. And I got terrible service. When I told them I was very disappointed that it would take the money that long they offered my 5 dollars for my next grub hub order. 5 dollars... for the next time. Never again. Grub hub sucks.

3 hours later and no food, no apology, no call back. We call and hubgrubb and get hung up on. We call back and they cannot figure it out. OMG and we got charged for it. Never again.

I have ordered from Grub Hub twice now. Once a month ago, and again yesterday. The first time without notice and not until after 9 pm they cancelled my order without explanation or notice. I called the restaruant and they didn't have any answers for me. I thought i would give them another try, After carefully reviewing several restaurants, we narrowed our choice down and ordered our food around 7 pm. We were SOOOO looking forward to our dinner. I believe the ETA I received was 8:15-8:45 pm arrival time. No problem, I didn't expect it right away. Around 9 pm I went into my account and it said the food was delivered at 8:15 pm. We ran outside looked all over. Went to the neighbors house, nope, no food. Then I went and had a chat with Grub Hub. They got back to me and apologized that my food hadn't arrived. They said they tried to contact the driver and were unsuccessful. At this point it is close to 9:15 pm. Clearly too late to order from anyone else. I asked them why it said the food was delivered, and what happened. They said they didn't know and officially cancelled my order. I will NEVER order from them again!

Very BAD business practice from GrubHub! They do not deserve a star! They pretty much lied at me. This is my Order #**************. I placed an order this evening 14 minutes before the restaurant stopped taking orders. My order went through and I was charged for it. 40 minutes later GrubHub called me and they said the restaurant had canceled my order because their kitchen was closed and I questioned that because I placed my order when the kitchen was opened. BTW the agent was so rude on the phone. She did not even apologize and hung up on me! Anyway, I called the restaurant and they told me that GrubHub had called their store and canceled my order! Grubhub just lied! GrubHub told them the customer wanted to cancel the order and the restaurant manager asked them why did the customer canceled and they replied that they did not understand why! What a lie! I did not even ask them to cancel my order! And the funny thing that GrubHub called me 40 minutes later and said that the store had canceled my order because their kitchen was closed! They have ruined my Friday Night! We called the GrubHub's customer service and they weren't helpful at all. They started coming up with other stories and made the restaurant's manager look bad. What a horrible business practice. I definitely do not recommend GrubHub to anyone!

I have been using delivery apps for about three months now but so far only used Door Dash and goPuff, no issues. Today i used Grub Hub and instead of reading the reviews for the overall service i just looked at the restaurant reviews (KFC). I ordered my food at 836pm, total was 33.00 and then money was immediately taken from account, waited and waited and waited, then at 912pm, order was shown picked up and the driver picture was on my app. Restaurant is about 5 minutes from my house and app said it was about 20 minutes ETA. NO food as of 945 so i call GrubHub, the rep said he was one minute from my house and to start heading towards door. Then at 1005 my order showed delivered and unfortunately it wasnt to me. I contacted GrubHub again and the lady asked me to confirm all my info again and said let me put you on hold while i call the driver. Then about 5 minutes later she came back and said i called him three times and he wont answer the phone. She immediately said sorry i got an email instantly about a refund of the cost and then she said give it about 5 business days. That was it... makes absolutely no sense. Dont use if you look online its mainly negative reviews and refunds. That just shows you how bad it must be, the drivers wont even answer the phones when their boss is calling. So i will just wait the 5 business days and see what happens lol...

My first experience with grub hub has me feeling like i should have just skipped lunch altogether. I placed my order with ease about an hour ahead of time and was immediately given a window of delivery time approximately an hour out which was perfect. Having this scheduled i was comfortable arranging my work accordingly to accommodate a little bit of a late lunch time. About a half hour later i recieved a text notifying me that my order was actually scheduled earlier than previously stated. This was good news to me as i didnt want to bounce around the time i need to eat and still be productive in my job. The track my order feature decided to update me 10 minutes later and now it was gonna be a half hour later. Ok it happens i would deal with it. Every 10 minutes or so it updated me with a 10 minute later delivery time each time. Over 2 hours to have tacobell delivered cold from 11 minutes away seemed ridiculous and had i not dropped my vehicle off for inspection and was able to drive, i would just get it myself. Never again will i use grubhub. I never had any bad experiences with doordash.

Never use their delivery team. They eat your food if you missed timed the delivery.
I was in touch with the company and for a $31purchase that I ordered for my elderly parents they offerd $2 comp.
Everyone please note and tell a friend if you parents are not there for the treat you ordered they will not leave the food the Grubhub delivery person will either eat you delivery pr bring it home for his/her family.
Grubhug dissmisses any resposnibility for their emplyees and contractors. Try one of their compettitors and lets drive out of business. Lets all report them to the Better Business Bureau and your local Congressperson. They are exploiting us for their shareholders gain.

Never again. My experience with Grubhub was infuriating. My order kept getting delayed, and I ended up waiting for hours. When I contacted customer service, they initially offered me a measly $5 credit towards my next order. After persistently requesting a refund and for my order to arrive promptly, I was transferred to a supervisor named Loren M. She kept gradually increasing the credit offer up to $20–in between, stating "$10 is our max." During our conversation, there was a back-and-forth about a credit vs. a refund. I made it clear that I wanted a refund, not just a credit for a future order. Initially, despite my repeated requests for a refund, Loren M. Continued to insist on offering credits. She eventually stated she would issue the refund of $20, then seconds later said she sent a credit—neither of which, ever occurred. Additionally during this back and forth, she stated initially I could not cancel my order. Even though I had already told her repeatedly, I did not want my order cancelled. Loren then flips the script once again stating she's not going to issue a refund or credit, at all. While we're discussing the latest inconsistency, I get a notification that Grubhub cancelled my order. She cancelled my order, without my consent, denied even cancelling it, and when challenged with the fact I was just notified of such, she admitted it was cancelled but shifted the blame to the person I initially spoke with—her subordinate. This entire ordeal, with now no food and no delivery options open in the area at 9 pm, left me furious. It was probably the worst customer service experience I've ever encountered, especially in dealing with a supposed supervisor. I made it clear that I would escalate this matter to Grubhub's highest levels and share my experience publicly. And I will continue on in that regard until something is done.

2 out of every 10 orders never get delivered. Grubhubs solution is to credit my card and give me 2 months free delivery. Only problem with this is THEY ARE LIEING (sp?). I have been promised this three times in the past 2 months BUT IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PHONIES. Uber seems to be a much better soultion

I placed a big ($107) for delivery from GrubHub. I did not receive any bread and I was supposed to get 8 slices. I had marked to received pickles, peppers and onions and did not get any, and I had asked for 2 sides of baked potato salad and got 2 baked beans. I called the restaurant and the young guy who said he was the manager, Isaiah, argued with me that it was my fault, then it was Grub Hub's fault. After I pointed out exactly what it said on the order, he agreed it wasn't my fault but that he couldn't fix anything. I called Grub Hub and they couldn't do anything either. Finally, after 2 more phone calls, the restaurant agreed to refund me a whole $2.09. Then, when I finally go to eat the cold food, it was terrible! The meat was greasy because it had been reheated from yesterday. The macaroni and cheese tasted like terrible cheese powder mix. The bologna and sausage was obviously leftovers from yesterday and reheated. It is such a shame to pay that much money, get terrible customer service, then get terrible food on top of that! Save yourself some heartache and eat at Oklahoma Joe's!

Have used this setvice a number of times. Mist recently ordered from them st 5:01PM and due to the restraunt not getting my irder correctly ended up waiting to about 6:45PM for our food. Cakkex customer service # she strughkex to find my order even after I gave her my order# and email. Finslly she found my information. Inky got a Gee sorry about that answer. No attempt at all to compensate me with food, a discount or refund. Very very poor cvustomer service. Will nit use them again

I'm pregnant and my husband ordered cold stone ice cream around 7:00pm just right now after almost two hours of waiting he received a text message telling him that was a mistake and they redound his order! AFTER TWO HOURS! YES I AM ACTING STUPID BUT IM PREGNANT AND MY HORMONES HOING CRAZY EHAT IS THE EXCUSE FOR ALL THAT PEOPLE WHO TAKE ORDERS AND DELIVER?
IS THAT WHAT THEY DO? THIS COMPANY SEND TONS OF ENAILS TO GET CUSTOMERS ABD WHEN WE THE CUSTOMERS HIVE SOME TRUST THEY STARTED DOING THEIR HORRIBLE MISTAKES LIKE THE ONE JUST RIGHT Now so F*** Y** GRUBHUB!

I've used GH twice- first experience was OK, but I found it odd that someone called and asked if I really wanted delivery at that particular time (since it would have been rush hour, tho there's never a good time in Northern VA.) I was hungry, hence why I ordered food but the woman on phone said getting someone out at that time would take a while. I thought that the high price was for convenience and the fact that this kind of stuff wouldn't be issue. I ended up agreeing to get my food over an hour after I wanted to since by that time everyone had already picked out what they wanted.

My most recent (and final experience) was beyond ridiculous. Long story short, I put order in for food at 4:10pm and we didn't receive til about 8:45pm. I had to call GH 3 times, each time getting someone different who gave me a different excuse. First time my order never made it to restaurant and they did offer to take off delivery charge. Second time the person I spoke with had zero idea what was going on and I felt like I was dealing with a teenager who hated her job. I was told my order wasn't received by restaurant til 7:25 and that everything was in process, which was BS. Third time I called to just cancel the whole thing but was then told the delivery guy was on his way already, which he got there 20 min later. They should have given me way more than free delivery at that point considering it took over 4 hours and a lot of frustration just to get food. Never, ever, ever again. I think you'd have better luck sucking it up and going yourself.

It seems that either Grubhub, or the restaurants themselves, source their delivery services out to a third-party company in this area and it is NOT working out in their favor lol. They need to find another delivery service or drastically change something with their business model because this is not the first time my food has arrived late unfortunately. If you look at all of the other Grubhub reviews on this site then they can attest to this (I'm glad I'm not the only one)!

I ordered food at 6:03pm tonight. Immediately received an email letting me know that my food would not arrive until 7:00-7:10pm. Seemed normal.

7:15 rolls around, I get worried and there haven't been any new updates through text on my phone or through email. So I log back in to the Grubhub site to find the following status on my order, "Delivery Time 7:46 PMish"... LOL yes, that's right, they actually said "PMish." I should have known that was going to be a bad sign LOL.

SO, 8:45PM rolls around and still no word. I end up sending an email to Grubhub to cancel my order. I end up ordering pizza at 8:45, which ends up getting to my house in less than half an hour...

I ordered dinner from Fazolis, and in my order I asked for 4 cookies. Normally I wouldn't have made a big deal over this, but this is not the first time this has happened and the 4 cookies cost an extra $8. Also in my delivery instructions I asked for the driver to call me from the front door directory and I'll let them into the apartment and to leave it at my door. I get a call as the driver is approaching my apartment complex and ask for me to come outside and meet him. I'm like "I asked you to bring it up here" he says he's got other orders to fullfil. So knowing I'm not going to win this one, I meet him outside. That has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME I have ordered with Grubhub. I go back inside and find out I'm missing all cookies and I've paid for them. I call Fazolis asking about it and they say they'll make them for us as long as Grubhub comes back to pick them up. I call Grubhub and complain. The guy puts me on hold for 8 minutes and tells me they can't fullfil my request because Fazolis won't make them for us. I tipped the driver all so he could give me poor service and steal from me. That is not ok. I will never order from Grubhub ever again. I do not recommend them ever.

I was looking forward to relaxing after a day out of town. Get back to my airbnb with my husband and decide to order using Grubhub. This was our first experience using the service, and we were in a very populated city mind you. I put the order in at around 11:25pm-ish. The order was received by TacoBell. After waiting the allotted time, there was nothing on the map. Then my order was delayed and waited another 30 minutes. I finally saw the driver pop up on the map and saw they got to TacoBell. The driver was there for over 10 minutes. It was probably close to 20-25 minutes before they left TacoBell and drove in the opposite direction of my address. Then after another 5-10 minutes I got an email for Grubhub saying my order had been canceled. What. The. Heck. I waited over 1 hour 30 minutes for flipping TacoBell... and never got it. Why was it canceled? Why did the driver go to the location, stay for so long and then leave? Now my husband and I are stuck eating granola bars before hitting the sack. What a great vacation... I will NEVER use Grubhub again. And I will tell everyone to NEVER use it either. It says I will get a refund, and I hope so after all that. I see may negative posts on here and I'm surprised this company is still in business. If you want food fast, call in your order or go to fast food yourself!
