“Fees increase after delivery”

Check your receipts. Past month Grubhub has been increasing service fee after order delivered when charge posts to account. Food price, tax and tip stay same, but their service fee increases. For example when orders placed fee $4. Final charge then $4.80. How is this not illegal? Beware!

I placed an order with a restaurant through this site tonight (after having used this site several times prior - with complete satisfaction by the way), and they let me know far after closing, for it and other businesses, that it had closed. By this time, after waiting, both it and every other restaurant in the area able to deliver had already closed. This left me essentially with no other similar, accessible local options to order out for food on a Sunday.

I'm not one to complain about this sort of thing, but this happened to be a super inconvenient thing for me on this particular occasion, because I had no other option to order from any other restaurant at this hour, on this particular day (despite them, on the phone, insisting this was contrarily the case, and that I had any number of options open to deliver to me). I suppose that this is Technically the case, if one were to point to a photograph of a city and say, without exception, that there are businesses somewhere in there that serve people food. Point taken. Thanks for all the help, "management".

Again, I'm not one to complain, but I was so bummed out by all of this that I sat on the phone a very long while trying to talk to somebody, anybody, to get someone to address some sort of recourse for this complete and absolute inconvenience. After wading through two further, different "managers", and then finally reaching an actual "manager", they let me know that they could give me a "$2 coupon" for my trouble. It seemed, without a doubt, intentionally insulting given the circumstances. All that waiting and waiting, all of it, only to insult me for even trying to offer any sort of criticism. Nobody that I talked during this entire process seemed to give a damn about the incompetence that meant my inconvenience as their customer. Nobody seemed to care in any real, tangible way, that on a work night, I made the effort at all to try and talk to a representative about my piss poor experience. I've never been so completely Appalled by customer service in my entire life, especially from a company that I had previously so commonly used.

Do. Not. Use. This. Service.

It's not enough to simply categorize it and all the people that I dealt with as such, but this thing that it is, as it currently operates, seems to be, absolutely, unequivocally,
Awful.

Wow.

Unbelievable.

I ordered from GrubHub and the restaurant delivered the wrong food even though they charged me for the more expensive item.

I sent a message to GrubHub and they promptly told me that a refund has been issued and that the restaurant has taken care of that. I was actually quite impressed until I realized that it was a lie. Total sham. Ripoff. See my transcripts with GrubHub Customer service below.

They basically call me a liar and insist that the refund has been made. In case I am not satisfied I need to contact my fu$$ing bank and have them investigate... How many days before they disappear? Not many.

I have deleted the app and will NEVER AGAIN use them.

There is an issue EVERY time I order with GrubHub, consistently. Awful customer service who never actually solves a single problem. They just say here's a $5 credit for your next order regardless of the issue. If there's more than one issue (for example, like today, I had missing food AND uncooked food that was late), the app prevents you from entering it so, you only get to choose a single issue to report (in my case, I could only report that food was missing). Good luck with the rest of the matters because when you go back to continue additional reports, the option to do so is gone. You only see an update on the single issue you're allowed to submit. So I was made to just accept that my order was ALSO late and undercooked. Awesome!
Likewise, there seems to always be a problem with the food, it's just never as expected. For example, missing items, wrong items, sloppy, etc.
Despite having some basic delivery instructions, the delivery is never smooth or as instructed either. I've even messaged the drivers before they arrive with an FYI that I have instructions and if they have any issues to just let me know. They never reply back and about 80% of the time, never follow the instructions. I've even had food delivered to the wrong place a good handful of times too. In one instance that this occurred, I reached out to the driver via message saying that the food was not delivered to me and their photo shows the delivery at another house. I was in shock that the driver actually messaged back. He said "I heard the door open so, your neighbors must have taken the food, sorry about that." Welp, there went dinner. Why is there even an option to add delivery instructions is what I wonder?
Oh and if you thought you'd be able to track your driver and order every time you order, you're wrong. There's no warning ahead of time when a restaurant doesn't actually use a GrubHub driver, but instead uses an in-house delivery driver. You only find out AFTER you've placed your order and then you're left wondering where the food is and when it will arrive. So, when you check the GrubHub app it just says something along the lines of we can't track your order and that's all you get as far as information about your order/delivery status.
Likewise, you can't use that famous "$5 credit towards your next order" along with any type of restaurant promo/discount. Yup, that's right, you select one or the other because the app won't allow both.
It's VERY CLEAR that the company are a bunch of money hungry scammers that don't care about their customers nor about providing good service. Therefore, their customer support and drivers don't care about it either. It's a top down IDGAF attitude and affect. Honestly, ordering food with them is more of a headache than a convenience. All GrubHub wants is your money for the least bit of work possible. The owners/decision makers should honestly be ashamed of themselves. Choose another delivery service!

I am a Grubhub driver and I completely understand the frustration on the part of the customers. Grubhub is nothing but a greedy corporate machine only interested in screwing over all parties involved for their own gain. I have read multiple articles on how they screw restaurant owners, I have read numerous consumer complaints, and as a driver, I have been screwed by this crappy company just as much, if not more than anyone else! I see complaints of customers receiving their orders late, which Grubhub is responsible for a lot of. How you ask? Well, there used to be a minimum pay per order as well as a minimum hourly guarantee. Those are now both non-existent, which drops the minimum pay for an order significantly, and often times we end up driving more miles for less money, which may be profitable for Grubhub, but not for the drivers. When we receive these super low offers, most of us will reject them. Therefore, those orders get passed around until someone finally accepts them. This may not be the case everytime, but for the most part, that's why a lot of customers receive their food late, because Grubhub has drastically cut our pay and we look for the higher offers in order to make at least decent money. I am not making excuses for bad delivery drivers, because yes, there are some bad ones, however, Grubhub is the only delivery platform that does not allow you to rate the drivers, which takes away from the good drivers(like me). Grubhub is very deceptive in its practices, as they sent out emails to all drivers explaining their new pay model, which was allegedly supposed to put more money in our pockets but we actually see less. They used to pay 50 cents a mile, only from restaurant to the customer, then to make it better for us, they started paying per mile from our location to the the restaurant in addition. The catch: they cut the per mile pay to 22.5 cents! They claim to be so "transparent", yet they never explained that under their new pay model, that we would receive orders for a lot less than we used to receive. Experiencing Grubhubs bs first hand is the reason I would NEVER order through them or recommend anyone else to or even drive for these greedy pigs! They need to be investigated for their decptive practices!

I will never ever order from grubhub. THEY ARE THE WORST business I have ever dealt with. I had to file a claim with my credit card company because they are refusing to refund me my money. We ordered 3 breakfast burritos (1 veggie), fries and 2 coffees. What we got was 1 burrito(with fries ketchup 1 sausage and 1 fried egg), a breakfast croissant sandwich, fries with beef and avocado (both ad ons). I called immediately to get a refund as this just wasn't what we ordered. Grubhub said that they offer refunds through the restaurant and had to call the restaurant (roxie) to get a refund. The grubhub woman came back on the phone saying she could only refund me 1 breakfast burrito. I sent her pictures of the order and I called roxie, the owner bill apologized and said he would give me a full refund. When I informed the grubhub woman she said she would have to confirm with bill and supposedly called him back. When she gets back on the phone she says that Bill said he never offered me a full refund and that I could still only get 1 burrito credit back. I spoke with a grubhub manager and after much back and forth (over and hr on the phone) he agreed to give me a full refund. I call Bill at roxie to ask why he lied to grubhub and he said that he told grubhub I would get a full refund. I thought the issue was over until I get an email from Shamekia from grubhub asking more questions about the order. Another employee marques responds saying that I can only be refunded 1 sandwich as I only requested 1 item of my meal vegetarian. Not addressing the fact that we didn't receive half of what we ordered, or the fact that 2 people at this point have told me that I would get a full refund. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THEM!

After today, I will never use GrubHub or Eat24 service again!

So I placed an order for an expensive meal that I got during lunch which was to be around $20.00 bucks and with everything included $30.00.

Well, I was at work and waiting, but noone never showed up. Just so happened I checked online and it said my food had been delivered but it hadn't been.

I called them and they claimed that they tried to call me when they was outside of my house... um ok. Why not just knock on my door like every other normal delivery person?

Long story short, they REFUSED TO give me a refund... they refused to resend my food out to me and after I spoke with with a very rude and condescending agent, I was able to speak with a manager who provided me a two promotion codes... one for $10.00 and the other for $20.00...

Well, I wanted a refund but they refused to do so... Also, you can only apply one discount code at a time, so I would've been left with paying the additional $10.00 dollars out of pocket! AFTER I ALREADY ORDERED MY FOOD, PAID AND STILL NEVER RECEIVED!

Who wants to eat cold seafood?

Anyway, I called them back because the lunch special was now off for what I already paid for, and it was now back up to $45.00... I asked them what they could do... and they told me when I could make my mind up to call them back because the only thing he could do was to apply the $20.00 code and I pay out of pocket and they could only refund me for the $10.00 from the original order but now that the food is off lunch special, there is nothing they could do about it!

THIS HAS BEEN THHHHEEEEEE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE!

They were so rude, nonchalant... uncaring, unhelpful folk I ever seen in my life...

And guess what... I still didn't get my lunch, no refund and have two codes that I can't even apply!

So I guess they are enjoying my seafood on me!

I am so hurt, angry and disappointed!

I'M DISABLED AND HAD ORDERED FROM GRUBHUB NUMEROUS TIMES. EVEN WITH THE BAD APP, THE BAD DELIVERY, AND THE BAD FOOD, I WAS STILL POLITE. I WORKED IN FOOD AND BEVERAGE FOR YEARS AND I KNOW GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ALSO KNOW IT DOES NOONE ANY GOOD TO MISTREAT SOMEONE, SO I PUT UP WITH ALOT AND KEPT A SMILE ON MY FACE.
THE NEXT TO THE LAST STRAW WITH THIS COMPANY, WAS THE THIRD TIME A DRIVER TOOK MY FOOD ELSEWHERE. HE WAS ACTUALLY IN MY BUILDING AND WE'D SPOKEN AND HE TOOK MY ORDER TO A NEIGHBOR. THE NEXT TIME I ORDERED, I GOT HIM AGAIN AND CALLED HIM TO ASK IF HE'D BE SURE TO BRING ME MY FOOD THIS TIME. HE SAID YES. HE TOOK IT TO THAT SAME NEIGHBOR AGAIN! SO I CALLED GRUBHUB AND TOLD THEM THAT I HAD HAD IT WITH THEM AND THEY NEEDED TO FIRE BILAL BECAUSE HE WAS DELIBERATELY GIVING MY FOOD AWAY. THEY WOULDN'T AND DIDN'T. 2 WEEKS LATER I WAS HUNGRY AND DESPERATE AND CALLED TO PLACE AN ORDER SINCE THE APP WASN'T WORKING. WHEN THEY ANSWERED, I LET THEM KNOW.
THEN WAS INFORMED THAT BECAUSE OF MY CONDUCT, BECAUSE OF INFORMATION THEIR SYSTEM HAD, THEY COULD NO LONGER DELIVER TO ME! I ASKED THEM ABOUT THE INFORMATION AND WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE ACCESS TO IT AND COULDN'T TELL ME. SO I TOLD THEM THEY WERE EVIL. JUST LIKE THEIR SYSTEM. IT WAS RUDE OF ME, BUT I FELT BETTER. THEY SHOULDN'T BE IN BUSINESS.

NOT WORTH FIGHTING WITH THE APP TO GET BAD SERVICE AND BAD FOOD,

Foodler is BYFAR the worst service I have ever used. Their service and customer service is horrendous. I placed an order, waited almost 1.5 hours and nothing. I called the restaurant and apparently they had not received my order. When I contact foodler, I was informed that I did not received my order because my account was "blocked" and no orders could be place. I was never informed of this block. I had to work very late today and ordered this food to feed my family and now I have NOTHING. AND to make matters worse, it's so late now that I don't have any option to get anything else. THANK YOU FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

I WILL NEVER BE USING THIS SERVICE EVER AGAIN. This is absolutely unacceptable and without a doubt, the worst service I have ever used. Foodler should all be ashamed at how horrible their service is and their utter lack of being able to give ANY sort of answer. I called their "customer service" and was told they cannot provide any answers for me and that it is their policy to NOT inform the customer that their account is blocked. Basically, they don't let you know you're not getting any food and let you and your family go hungry for over an hour.

The lady I spoke to told me herself that she cannot provide any answers for me because it is an accounting issue and when I asked for contact information for the accounting department, I was told that's not how they "work" and she cannot provide a number to me. When I asked her to speak to a manager or supervisor or ANYONE who could give me any answer, she told me that's not how they "work" and that there is no manager present at "ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THE DAY". Seriously, WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS IS THIS?

Believe me, I will do my part so that no other family ends up starving like mine. Foodler is the worst service I have ever used and I (nor anyone else I know) will never use it ever again.

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE EVER. Worse service/company I have ever encountered. Absolutely no regard or respect for their customers.

I ordered Indian food on Sunday night through the so called Grub Hub. They lured me in with a 15% off discount in my email. With the delivery charges, taxes, and mandatory driver tip, the cost of the food was still $18 dollars more than if I would have just picked it up myself. But I was watching tv and really didn't feel like leaving my home. I ordered at 8:26 pm. By 9:45 I still didn't receive anything and I became concerned. I checked my email and tracked my order. The website said my food was delivered at 9:06pm. So I checked my front porch, no food. I immediately called the restaurant and they closed at 9:30pm. At this point I was livid. I had just spent $43 on food and it was never actually delivered. So I clicked on the Need Help link on the Grub Hub website. I then called the 1-800 number and waited for about 10 minutes because they had "an unusual high volume of calls and a representative would be with me as soon as possible." Finally, someone named "George" answered and I literally could not understand what he was saying. But we struggled through the greeting and I explained what happened. He told me that it looks like the driver waited in front of my house for 9 minutes and then left. I said ok? So why wasn't the food delivered? Why didn't he come and ring my doorbell or knock at the door? I literally put to ring my doorbell in the instructions. He told me that Grub Hub drivers are not responsible to actually go onto the property because sometimes there is no parking. I told him that wasn't a problem because I have a driveway. Then he said, "it looks like the driver called and you didn't answer." I said, "ok?" I just want a refund of my money since I never received my food. Then the bomb! Josh said, "sorry sir, we can't give you a refund, but we can offer 50% off of your next purchase." I almost lost my mind. Stone cold robbery by app! You mean to tell me... I can order food through your app, pay a premium, not have it delivered because I didn't answer my phone when the delivery driver called, while the driver is not required to actually come to my door, and then you get to keep my money?! He said with a straight voice, "I understand sir, we can offer you 50% off your next purchase, I'll send the coupon to your email." I was tricked, beaten, and robbed. I will never ever ever ever use Grub Hub ever again! I hear Door Dash is much better and has better customer service. I'm calling my credit card company this morning to try and cancel the charges and I will give Grub Hub a negative review for the worst possible customer service ever!
