Order was delivered 1 hour early. The order was for 2 people and $144. Customer help would not acknowledge and when I sent them the receipt that was proof of delivery time they said it was not attached on e mail properly whatever that means. Avoid GRUBHUB if possible.
They say, while you are waiting on hold for over ten minutes, that they have amazing customer service. Every time I call, they are experiencing "unusually high call volume." That should tell them, and you, something. First, how can you say that you have acceptable customer service, let along amazing, when every time I call it's over a ten minute wait?
Also, too many times when I call a restaurant is out of something. So the restaurant calls to tell me this, I have to talk to grubhub to make sure I am not going to be charged, on hold, hear all kinds of excuses and thank yous for my advice, etc, etc, but it happens too often and they either need a way to update menus for out of stock items, or tell the restaurants that if it keeps happening then grubhub will stop using them. It's like everybody associated with this place is in denial. It's all happy, happy, joy, joy, we have such great customer service... when they've irritated you, wasted your time, and left you frustrated and hungry.
A typical $43.00 order was $78 with tip(not complaining about the tip at all). I totally understand marking up the items to make money its a business, but almost double is nuts.not my 1st time but definitely my last time. Should be a standard % not mark up someone else's menus, then tack on a % your not creating anything, without the restaurant or your driver you would have nothing, delivery's existed before you grub hub. Restaurants should just mark it up a little on there own for delivery, I would definitely pay more for the convenience, the driver and restaurant would make more and be able to control the quality of there own food. Maybe just offer your own app.(restaurant) I did and it was pretty easy to do
While sitting in my camper in Central Minnesota I received a call from a NYC restaurant letting me know I didn't choose a side for my order. Told them I'm in MN and didn't place an order. Short while later a driver in NY calling for delivery instructions, again said I'm in MN and didn't order. Next day find out order was placed through my GrubHub account and $140 was charged to my bank account. Called and was told it would be resolved in 48 hours. Here it is now a week later and 3 calls to them telling me it is escalated and they will let me know when resolved. Same girl that answered my last call came back on the phone line saying she was the supervisor too (guess they think their customers are idiots). Will allow a few more days before disputing through my bank. I will delete my account after this is resolved.
The CEO is an intolerant jerk who threatens employees because of who they voted for. Talking about a Hitler, this CEO has no business for my business. One hateful man. Way to go for being tolerant and respecting our Democracy... well as long as it goes Mr. CEO's way that is. What a creep.
I had a horrible experience with one of the restaurants on their list. And because Grubhub did not do what i asked in the first place, I know have to dispute the charge with my bank. I believe Grubhub lied to me to begin with, rather than dealing with the order that was already 1 hr late. Then when i contacted them back, i was told to wait while they "reviewed the thread", then they ask me what my issue was. If they read the thread, they would have known. Literacy nor spelling, are their chat teams strong points.
This is a huge scam, we ordered food and like many reviews here they never got delivered to us and their customer representative refuses to refund the money and give you a stupid $20 dollar credit which is useless cause you have to use it in 30 days. Stay away from this scam business!
Every time I order, the order is wrong. The drivers are complete idiots that don't check the orders. I guess that's what you'd expect for someone who has a job that only requires driving and texting. There are plenty of better delivery services that will push Grubhub out with better service. Will never order from them again.
There are often items missing from my order. Until today, Grubhub has been responsive and refunded me for the missing items. They refused to issue a refund today claiming that I have received too many. Perhaps they should look at their drivers or their partner restaurants for the issue instead of blaming the customer.
After a bad experience with DoorDash with no positive resolution, tried Seamless by GrubHub and had the best experience. So glad there are positive options to food delivery services.

Have always used app to order food for pickup and didn't have problem until about a year ago when the restaurant I frequent changed their menu and the app didn't update their version. Repeated attempts at chatting with their customer service get you no where. They make a lot of promises but don't follow through on ANYTHING! The app is nearly useless anymore.
This is the msg I sent to Grubhub: "No food delivery. I am so upset with Grubhub. Just got home from hospital & had no food. Ordered from grubhub with disastrous results. Contacted Grubhub and your customer service was not willing to have my food delivered and so he said will issue refund which will take 5 business day. 10:00 pm at night, hungry with no food and out $80. Nice job Grubhub. Your service sucks, your customer service sucks. I almost called 911 to go back to hospital again. Was so furious. Your driver kept driving around & kept me on the phone for over 30 minutes. Said he does not have map app or Gps. I was standing on my balcony yelling... ridiculous, to go through so much pain for a meal. I will Never again Order from Grubhub. I will report you to Better Business Bureau. You still have my money. Shame on you. "
Food arrived an hour late and very cold. I paid $33 for the order, and they gave me a coupon for $7. Their CS agent logged out of the chat before checking if I was done talking. Super rude. They just lost a client.
My food was supposed to arrive within an hour of me placing the order. Instead it took TWO HOURS. I called the restaurant. They had said the food was ready very long ago... they were just waiting for a GrubHub driver. What a mess.
Decided to try GrubHub. Went onto the site, entered address, found list of restaurants, got family to agree on one, entered the order online. Got a text confirmation from GrubHub that order was on its way. Then got an email saying the order was cancelled. Seems the I'm outside of the restaurant's delivery zone. Furious, "online chat" with useless customer service rep who is "very sorry for the inconvenience". So called the US phone number, got a rep in India who said I should hold for his supervisor. Have now been holding for TWELVE MINUTES. I guess they f**k up enough orders that the supervisors are overloaded. Will never never use again.
Order from them three different times and every order was messed up but today put the icing on the cake when I order my food at 8:17 pm and didn't get it until 9:35 and only thing grub hub wanted to do was give me 10% off then I open my food and it's cold even more pissed because of it and I call back and the guy say only thing we can do is give you 20% off your next order. I will not be ordering from them at all this is terrible service from both the driver Judy and the customer service reps.
Worst. Service. Ever. Got an email saying my food was prepared, and that it would take about 60-75 mins for delivery. Waited 1 hour and twenty mins for food, and then called the number it told me to call in the email if I was having a problem with delivery. Waited another twenty mins, most of the time on hold, for them to tell me that my food had not yet been made and it would take another hour to arrive. Never, ever again. Wish I could give negative stars.
This is my final time ordering from Grubhub. I placed my order at 7:33 PM tonight, and my food is set to arrive at 10:00 PM. Original quoted delivery time was between 8:18 and 8:28, but it kept getting moved back. Part of this order is for my kids, who have school in the morning and are now up past their bedtime so they can get something to eat. Grubhub has burned me similarly in the past, but like I said, this is the last time.
Grubhub is a godsend on busy nights (or lazy nights). Never had a bad experience and I've used them many times! I live in Tempe now, but used to live in the Chicago suburbs and have used grubhub in both locations with nothing but great service! Love that they give you little status/time updates for your order. Two times, this has happened.
If the online service brings you food in one hour after ordering, no big deal. This is what they are least expected to do.
But i get my order cancellation notification due to their own logistics, at a point when i am expecting my order any moment.
I have to relive this ordeal one more time tonight and i am with no food at late in the night. I am furious and i am not going back to them
The minimum amount of $ you have to order can be a waste, especially if your ordering for one person. I would rather just pay the difference than be forced to order extra food that i'm going to throw away...
Delivery food is great but no one is trying to wait 2+ hours for their food to arrive. If this app doesn't have enough available drivers it must tell the clientele. My food is cold and soggy it was done 15 minutes after ordering but took another hour and a half for someone to pick it up. The whole time the app incrementally delays your wait time. This app is BS crazy such $#*!e companies can operate at such a large scale.
I have tried to order using grubhub twice and am 0 for 2. Haven't had a meal delivered yet! First time had to argue to get our refund and had to call the restaurant that told us they always have complaints about their orders through grub hub. This time, no food... and still on hold to get our refund. They even sent a text that our food would be here in 8 minutes... really? That was an hour and a half ago!
Placed an order with them today. Waited for 2 hours for food to arrive and then got in touch with their customer service. And then I get informed that the order has been misplaced and they will cancel the order and give me a $10 GrubHub credit (along with some instructions on how to use it). What they forgot to realize is that a hungry man doesn't give a rat's $#*! about your $10 worth of credit. Pathetic.
Delivery driver did not follow any of the instructions based on my order.
What's the point of asking me if I you want utensils, if you're still not going to send them?

I used this site/app for several months with no problem. Recently I placed an order via the app and only a small portion of my order arrived. I sent 5 separate e-mails to GrubHub with no response. I complained on their facebook page and they said they never received any e-mail from me. The refused to correct the situation and to make matters worse, they charged me full price. I have since deleted the app and will never use this service again.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use it. Avoid the headache and use a different food delivery service or better yet, call the restaurant directly.
