So I needed to cop a new guitar cuz my old one was all busted and stuff, you know how it be. Anywayz, I headeded to Guitar Center and damn they got mad optons yo! I ended up grabin' this sick Fender Strat and it's like butter bro, sooo smooth to play. The guys at Guitar Center was mad chill and hooked it up wit a discount too which was flame. No cap, they know they stuff and helped me get exactly what I needed. Solid expireance overall, deffly reccomend Guitar Center if u need any music gear frfr. Aight peace!

Sweetwater always honors their deals, and always goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is taken care of. Go through them instead. I have had guitar center clsoe my account, and remove all data from their back end. Scammers till the end as per usual.

I ordered a schecter 7 string that they had for sale online. They had the wrong pictures on the listing so had to cancel the order. They left the charge on my card for over a week and in that week the guitar I wanted was bought. Tried to chat on the website and the employee just closed the chat without offering any resolution. Had to call 3 different times to find someone to actually help me and even then their solution was to get a gear card or ask for a higher limit on the gear card. Finally ordered a guitar that was my third choice since the used pieces I wanted were sold while I stared at a guitar center charge on my card and then shipping is delayed two days because it's in a different box since guitar center isn't honest about stock and will let you buy anything even if they don't have it after I was told by the agent that helped I would have it on the weekend. That didn't happen.i have been trying my hardest to buy a guitar from them for a month now and still don't have an instrument in my hands. Getting someone from the company to consistently respond to emails or the live chat to help you is near impossible so they can filter you to the phone I suppose where they try to sell you more and more. Worst customer experience I have ever had and I will never spend money with this company again.

I had been shopping for a taylor guitar for my daughter. I found one here but I live in Chicago. I called and asked if it came with a gig bag, the associate told me yes. I ordered the guitar online the next day. I got the guitar... no gig bag. I called the store. I spoke to 2 managers and now the 3rd one interrogated me like I was trying to steal a Les Paul from their showroom floor. He asked why I didn't order it when I called the store. What was the associates name. He told me that there was no way they told me that it came with a gig bag because it didn't. Finally I said "we are talking about a 20 dollar gig bag here sir" and he said FINE will 20 bucks appease you? That was the end of the conversation as I told him what he could do with the 20 bucks. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD BAR NONE. TOOL ALERT.

I called and ask a question about one of the Gibson Las Pauls. The person on the phone had zero interest in answering any of my questions, and was giving me one word answers. This is terrible customer service. Whoever that person is, should not answer your phone I will not be shopping at guitar Center in Cerritos. Have a great day.

The worst place to learn music is here, very rude staff and irresponsible instructors, my daughter is 8 years old and she complains that her instructor yells at her all the time, her room smells of cigarettes, this place is not recommended at all.
I was given a snare head for Christmas. Clear Remo black dot. As it turns out it's awful. I chatted online with an associate on Dec 31st. He said I could return for a refund. Today, Jan 1st, received a text msg being told drum heads non returnable. I said, not even 2hrs on it, no marks at all. I didn't want a refund. I would like to exchange for another snare head. No reply- dead silent. Already ordered a replacement. No questions on returns. I'm done with them. That's why unreasonable.

I have had several good visits to our local Guitar Center in Evansville, In. I stopped in today to buy a guitar case that was on sale. A younger male with bushy curly brown hair asked if he could help me. I pulled out my phone, showed him the case I had in my cart online. He looked it up, said he had 2 of them. Told me it may be a few minutes before he can find it. I replied no problem, I will look around a bit. Well the next thing I see him on the floor, ignoring me, talking with another employee, then reorganizing something in a box, looked at me, turned the other way. I am thinking what did I do... Then I went up to another man with beard, I think he is mgr, and told him what I was looking for and the more I thought about it, hell no, Ill order online and have it shipped to me. I wont be back. I may order stuff online but I wont go back to store.

Bought a new Line 6 Helix online. $1700 with shipping and taxes. Waited a week for it to arrive.
Opened it to find seal broken, plastic around unit ripped, screen protector removed, parts missing, and when I plugged it in someone else's name was programmed already!
I contacted store immediately, they said it was a demo but never disclosed this at the time of sale. They also admitted they do this routinely since if it was never sold it is still new!
Even with parts missing, this whole non-sense they would not exchange for new - I could just return it.
I will buying elsewhere from now on!
Worst online experience ever. Most of their workers fit the dumb musician on weed profile. They cancelled my order for a reason nobody knows and they will not release the funds from my card. Now my son will get a late birthday gift and I am out 250 dollars. $#*!s
I never understood why do we keep buying anything from Guitar Center. Their merchandise is in very low quality, and their guitars look cheap even though their prices are up in the sky. Whatever you want to buy from Guitar Center, you can find it anywhere for way less. Moreover, the resale value of their guitars is zero, according to them.
10 months ago I bought a guitar from their Sherman Oaks store for nearly $500. I went there earlier today, I wanted to exchange the guitar for another one they have and I was willing to offer money on top. They offer to buy my guitar $75! A guitar that I bought 10 mo ago, from the same store, for $500, and wanted to sell it back in the same condition I got it, they offered $75 for it. By that they told me "Do not buy anything from Guitar Center, you won't be able to sell it later". I didn't ask for $500 and I knew to expect way less than that. But $75?!...It happened to me a few times before at their store. Why will you buy anything from Guitar Center? No wonder they are bankrupt, we are suckers but only to a point!
I bought a guitar for my son from guitar center.com. It arrived fine, then sat on a stand for 4 months. He went to start his lessons, only to find the bridge has begun to separate from the top. Once the local shop began to work on it, they can easily see the bridge had already failed once and been re-applied rather messy and it still had failed again. I can't trust them ever again, first experience has cost me double the price of the guitar.

Purchased a used electric guitar online, it arrived quickly well packaged, however when opened I found missing parts and some of the electronics were not connected. Website description stated it was in "good usable condition showing normal use" It was not usable.
Upon contacting them I was told I would be contacted regarding the problem, that was more than a week ago, still no answer from them. I would (ADVISE) you to avoid this company at all cost. A complete rip-off outfit.
It's to bad this stores became so bad.

The customer service over the phone is terrible. I've been trying for weeks to contact a guitar center representative to see where my guitar is and NO ONE answers. If I hear that stupid waiting song one more time I'm going to lose it. I just want to know where my guitar is. I got an email saying bc of the virus shipping has been delayed BUT that I could call this number to receive help... I haven't received help AT ALL. This guitar was supposed to be a birthday gift for my boyfriend and now everything's ruined. Thanks guitar center! I just need help... why is that so hard? I even called within the timeframe where they're at work. I'm ten seconds from getting my money back and getting it elsewhere.
I bought an amp from them 2 weeks ago. After 5 days of "Processing" I got an email saying that my purchase was cancelled. I called customer service and they told me that they no longer have the item in stock - why the heck would they put it up online if they don't have that item in stock? I checked the site again the next day and the amp is again available for sale. This company is run by a bunch of scam artists!
It also takes forever for them to ship an item. I'm still waiting for the other item that I purchased with the "cancelled" amp 2 weeks ago. Order Status is still "Processing". I called customer service several times and they always tell me to give it another 24 hours. The item is supposed to be shipped within 3-5 business days after ordering - its been 2 weeks! I'd rather order from Sweetwater, they have better service than these guys.
This review is for the Athens Ga store! Jacob really needs to learn to use a phone…. He is very short and offers no help at all! He does not communicate well and he could at least point customer in a direction, but you can tell

I ordered a new $1500 acustic guitar from guitar center.com (had it shipped to my house) it came in exactly 5 business days, the receipt said it would email you when it was on the way... But I didn't get one, so be on the lookout for you guitar or equipment on the expected date. It was wrapped up in thick bubble rap; around a hard case, It was brand new just as I'd bought it. Very pleased. I'm sorry for everyone else's bad experiences but this gets a five star from me.
This Scott customer service guy in Modesto wouldn't even give us half our money back for a guitar we bought that was in perfect condition and unused. He also was a complete jerk. Rude and unprofessional. I will never go back there.

If you buy something that says "Pick up today," be sure to know you won't be able to pick it up until 2 weeks later. Once you're there and checked in, they'll ignore your message for over a half hour. Seriously don't offer convenience options if you don't understand what convenience is. Guitar center truly has fallen from grace from where it used to be.

My name is Alfred Colvin I am a producer, Singer and Musician. I buy all my musical equipment there and buy all my piano's there. I love their services and every worker I run into know there stuff and loves music. I have been referred to websites like https://pianofree.com https://guitarlessons.org because of that I can play both instruments fluently All base from a Guitar center employee.
They typically have a great selection in both new & used instruments, and a friendly staff, however the staff I have found is generally not very knowledgeable at all about specific questions about a particular guitar or piece of gear. They seem to just have "general" knowledge. Not bad, but not great either. I guess if they paid more they could probably afford to have a more knowledgeable staff.
The man the was helping me tried to get me to buy a bass that was way out of my price range, seemed like he took me for a sucker because of how young I am. He jumped in to help me for commission when the first gentleman walked away. The first gentleman actually had to step in when the first guy tried to sell me the bass I wanted for full price when it needed to be fixed because of fret buzz. But other then that the people there are nice and have a great selection of gear.
