So I needed to cop a new guitar cuz my old one was all busted and stuff, you know how it be. Anywayz, I headeded to Guitar Center and damn they got mad optons yo! I ended up grabin' this sick Fender Strat and it's like butter bro, sooo smooth to play. The guys at Guitar Center was mad chill and hooked it up wit a discount too which was flame. No cap, they know they stuff and helped me get exactly what I needed. Solid expireance overall, deffly reccomend Guitar Center if u need any music gear frfr. Aight peace!
Once again, I was scammed by this company and left holding the bag. This time, with a mesa amplifier. The item started malfunction ing right after the "return window". Shocker. It kept getting worse, guitar center refuses any connection to it, and refuses to address this issue in any way other than "should have paid hundreds for our pro coverage." Avoid these people. Sweetwater always honors their deals, and always goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is taken care of. Go through them instead. I have had guitar center clsoe my account, and remove all data from their back end. Scammers till the end as per usual.
Is it too much to ask to actually type in a 1 paragraph description?
'Guitar is used in Excellent condition. There are some fine pick scratches on the front, a small ding on the bottom as well as the lower horn (pictured). There are no chips, neck is straight and frets are roughly 85-90%, electronics all work as they should although the tone pot is slightly scratchy.'
See... that took me 60 seconds while looking at the guitar I bought at a local pawn shop instead of buying the same guitar off GC's website!
Wish I would have seen these reviews before dealing with them. Ordered an item site says is in stock... next day email saying back ordered... Even though my card was charged! Told no idea when item would be coming in. Walmart is better than these guys. A third world country swap meet would be better. First and last time ever dealing with them...
I placed a simple online order for one book. I get an email stating I need to call in the complete verification in order to release the item for shipping. Erik Cisneros From Guitar Center answers and literally demanded a bank statement to prove this wasn't a fraudulent charge. They suspected fraud because I used my husbands debit card, which is a joint account we share, and the shipping address had my name on it instead of my husbands. The other option was to call my bank and get some verification merchant code? Complete waste of time and very frustrating. I will not be shopping here ever again.
Bought a guitar case online, it showed up with a broken latch, I was told to swap it out at the local guitar center they refused and said I had to reapply for the progressive leasing program. I told then to take it off my bill which they did and I'll never do business with them again.
Tip for consumers:
Guitar center should have honored what I was told, to simply sawp the case. Instead they 2anted me to reapply for what I already had so im done with them

I had just walked in and looking at the guitar wall before perching some strings. That's when the tech guy, my old friend, came out from the back and told me I had to leave, then went on to tell the employee who was helping me,, that I was banned, over his personal feelings about me.Im a former employee and a 40+ year guitarist. I don't cause anyone problems. Just an unprofessional douchebag got put in charge
I ordered a set of bongos from guitar center two weeks ago and am still waiting for them. Customer service has blown me off twice now saying they are on their way. I will never again purchasing anything from guitar center, Amazon.com has such better customer service and shipping times. Same products at Amazon with considerate customer service. Guitar center has lost my business forever. Amazon.com is where I will be ordering all my music supplies from now on.
3 months ago I purchased a DigiTech GSP5 online from GC. It arrived on time and shipped well. Upon finding a power cable they did not provide, I discovered that the clock battery was shot. No big deal, $3 and ten mins I had that in. Annoyed, I moved on getting the equipment into my rack expecting to use it for modulation more than anything. Well, it emits a squeal and horrible noise on every setting. It just does not work. I contacted GC and was promised a refund, they were sending a label to me to send the item back. After several emails, I still do not have my refund. No label. And a boat anchor in my rack. Suffice it to say I will not buy another thing from them again. GC. NF. Never again for used equipment.

It seems like I just finished my last negative review and was honestly hoping to leave a positive one with the delivery of a new guitar due today. Well although I verified that my shipping address was correct in their system, in fact they just delivered another guitar here a few weeks ago. This time for some odd reason they shipped it to an address that I haven't lived in for the better part of a decade. Not only that, but I checked inventory at the two locations closest to me (within 5 miles of my house). It was in stock at both stores so I ordered it from one of them. This was the San Francisco Bay Area. But they shipped it from Kansas. What the heck? So I went down the customer service rabbit hole again. He finally said that ups would pick up and he would get back to me in a few days. A few days? I know it takes about 10 minutes to get ups to confirm a pickup. So yet once again their customer service was a total failure.
Tip for consumers:
At this point just buy your gear somewhere else.

Just purchased my second Evolve 30M online through Guitar Center. The unit arrived yesterday in great condition but was missing the backpack case for the poles and speaker. I called customer service and they said that the used unit didn't show any accessories. I told them that the photo for the listing clearly showed the case. They would not budge. This will be the last time I will buy something online from Guitar Center and not sure I will even buy anything from our local store. Buyer beware!

Ordered a Powered Monitor. Waited and when it came it didn't work. Spent nearly a hour on the phone to get it sent back. The Guy Joseph was seriously the worst. Then they tell me to drive over an hour to exchange it (Swap). I'm getting upset just writing this.
Long story short, drove there, the guy was just nonchalant. Charged me/overcharged me extra and treated me like dirt. Dude lied to me telling me it was a equal swap. In fact he tried to get me off the phone several times without making a honest attempt to help me. I remained very claim and polite all the way through this ordeal. I will never go back nor ever recommend them. This Store is ridiculous, seriously! Additionally, i cant turn on my computer or surf the web without their annoying pop-ups imposing on me. Seriously, something needs to be done. They just don't get it. CUSTOMER SERVICE!, AHH THAT'S WHAT YOU GOT HIRED FOR. (My Rate is -100)
Always good prices, and they do not hesitate on returns. I had a shipping damage issue and they didn't place blame or fuss. You can take a chance with them because if its not what you wanted you can send it back no hassle.
I still like going into the store but if its not in stock you can order it in store and have it delivered or order on line an pick up in store.
They'll match musicians friend prices also.
Customer is beware if you buy used equipment online from guitar Center don't. I purchased two acoustic guitars online but before I did, I called up and spoke to a sales associate to take a look at the guitar the first time and they said it was an excellent condition. It wasn't. It was broken the second time I tried buying a guitar eight months later, I called up again, spoke to the sales associate, and they assured me that the guitar was in great shape, a day later, I got a phone call after purchasing the guitar from the sales associate telling me that the guitars got a huge crack on the side of it and if I still want it and I just said no that's it. I will not shop at guitar Center anymore.
I attempted to purchase a used but expensive guitar from this company, I found it on there web site and called the customer service number to make sure the guitar was there and in pristine condition, there sales associate went on about what a beautiful guitar this was and that it was in perfect condition, so I ordered it that moment. Less than a hour after I purchased it I got a e mail stating that the guitar has already been sold. Clearly the sales associate was not truthful, then to compound things I have to wait for a refund, so they charged me for a guitar that was already sold. When I called and asked for the refund to be expedited there sales staff were less that friendly offered no compensation or even a honest sounding apology.
I ordered a fairly expensive guitar in March and more than 60 days later the order status states "Processing". The item in in fact back-ordered and will likely be another 30 days or more, something I had to learn on my own. "Processing" as an order status is straight up BS. If an item is back-ordered, say so. I've been a Sweetwater customer, and my first purchase at Guitar Center. Already starting to regret.
I ordered a used DigiTech 2120 effects processor for $249.00. The condition was listed as "great" but that wasn't my reality unfortunately. The unit listed looked perfectly fine, faceplate lettering knobs screen (display). All looked immaculate. Do they even test this stuff before it leaves the store? I couldn't even get any sound out of it or through it.

Purchased online from the Longhorne PA store.
This is how I received the order.
See pics.
Minimal insufficient protective packaging.
Not one sticker identifying which side is up thus everything jammed at one end of the bottom of the box.
Mic stand protruding through two (2) boxes.
Manufacturer's box as well as shipping
One piece of packaging tape that split leaving one end of the box unsecure.
Focusrite 4i4 took a few hits as seen in the pics.
Hopefully it didn't sustain any damage.
We'll see.
Never online again.
This order was a test run.
They lost an order for 1 Rickenbacker 4003 and 1 Musicman Stingray bass.
Oh well...

Received my speakers today.
They just placed them in a box face up with bubble wrap on the exposed face of the speaker.
Wow..
I ordered a $7000 piano, it was listed as "available, but requires extended shipping". The next day someone from guitarcenter called me to clarify some billing details and said "we'll ship it to you today or you can pick it up today by yourself". I choose shipping. After several days waiting, as I didn't receive any confirmation, I called them and another manager told me the piano is on backorder and estimated delivery is 3 months from now! He wasn't able to figure out which of their employees called me before. I cancelled the order. Now need to close credit card account that I opened specifically for this purchase. I prefer to work with reliable people, so will bypass guitarcenter in the future.
Don't bother ordering used gear online. Site says 3-5 days shipping. Apparently it takes them over a week to "obtain shipping supplies". Cardboard boxes are so hard to come by these days. Then after cancelling, it takes 7 days for the refund to process. They took my money in a matter of seconds, but 7 days to refund? And I used their freaking credit card! But who cares. I'm paying off that card and destroying it anyway. Bunch of lying scam artists over there. Musician's Friend is 1000x better. Also tax free. Thanks for taking the fun out of music, Guitar Center.
Received 1st product and the 2nd i did not and its been over a month for them to do the job of sending refund, also was heard a guitar center employee was dumping packages in forest that were suppose to be dumped into out going post...

When I need anything new related to my (dad's) guitar or back when I needed things for the piano, I pretty much checked out guitarcenter.com first. It may be a bit pricier than some discount dealers, but you always know what you're getting is what's advertised there. Once in a while there are items that you're told are on backorder but you have the option to cancel then.
Was told pedal was only scratches and dents, ends up it had a broken indicator LED (zoomed in now can see in the picture). When confronted they said it was probably in shipping, not knowing I saw it in the picture. They said I could return it... that is a 25 min one way drive to return.
The people that work there in the El paso Tx. Store either they do not care or they think they know it all, poor talking skills end even worst politeness, and on top of it all they try to sell you all there used items as new.
I placed an order for two speakers mid October, at $269.99 each; After a week or so, I still couldn't see any dispatch notification, so I called up, and was told they went out of stock. Fine. On Black Friday, I thought I'd give it another try, and the online chat told me they have them in stock at $349.99 each, with 15% Black Friday discount, which amounts to $297.49 each, which is still nearly $30 more expensive than my previous unsuccessful order. I hence asked why and whether they could honest my previous order price, but was told no, because my previous order was 'clearance' item, and the current ones are 'brand new'. I went back to my email looking for words such as 'clearance' or even 'not new', but couldn't find anything indicating the previous order was for 'non-brand-new' products. This is just straight dishonest. I will not bring business to a dishonest merchandiser like this any more.
Tip for consumers:
Be very very careful, and be prepared for inconsistency in service and possible dishonesty

We ordered a nice electric piano from the Guitar Center.
Now they have haunted our emails with between 3 and 4 emails EVERY DAY.
We have blocked them, we have unsubscribed on their website, we have contacted the company and worked with a very nice person who assured us that we would receive no more emails. All attempts have failed.
It may not seem like a big deal, but having to delete their multiple emails every day is getting old.
Given the other negative reviews I will never do business with them again.
For the weekend black Friday deals I got a new bass, a bag, and a cable, the website said it would take about a week to ship. 2 days later my bass is here, the next day my other items are here as well! I'm super happy with the company and how quick they shipped. Even after I had just placed the order and called to ask some questions, the employee answering the phone was knowledgeable and ready to help me. Shoutout to my man Andrew, I hope they give you a raise!
