So I needed to cop a new guitar cuz my old one was all busted and stuff, you know how it be. Anywayz, I headeded to Guitar Center and damn they got mad optons yo! I ended up grabin' this sick Fender Strat and it's like butter bro, sooo smooth to play. The guys at Guitar Center was mad chill and hooked it up wit a discount too which was flame. No cap, they know they stuff and helped me get exactly what I needed. Solid expireance overall, deffly reccomend Guitar Center if u need any music gear frfr. Aight peace!
Once again, I was scammed by this company and left holding the bag. This time, with a mesa amplifier. The item started malfunction ing right after the "return window". Shocker. It kept getting worse, guitar center refuses any connection to it, and refuses to address this issue in any way other than "should have paid hundreds for our pro coverage." Avoid these people. Sweetwater always honors their deals, and always goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is taken care of. Go through them instead. I have had guitar center clsoe my account, and remove all data from their back end. Scammers till the end as per usual.
I purchased guitar and banjo strings at the Guitar Center on Arlington Blvd in Fairfax, VA, that had a sales price on the display. After paying for them, I noticed the receipt indicated a much higher price. Upon inquiry, I was told that the sales price had expired. If I had not looked carefully at the receipt, I would never have known and GC would have charged me the non-sales price. Upon asking to see the manager, Ryan,; I was told that the sale was long over and the sales price 'Wasn't happening." His attitude was that it was my fault for not reading the display carefully and GC had no responsibility for not properly managing the sales price display. At best, this practice puts the burden of avoiding a misleading display on the customer. At worst, it is an intentionally deceptive policy that knows it will with some regularity overcharge customers that do not carefully check the sales display and the price charged on their receipts. Plus, if this is the way they train managers to deal with customers in these situations, GC corporate practice and training has much to be desired. Buyer beware! I will not shop there again based on how I was treated in this transaction.

Back to Guitar Center Orlando Florida the outcome was ugly I purchased a guitar for the general manager said it was a deal wasn't a good deal corporate never call me back spending $2,000 plus on the guitar should be a happy day in your life I get so mad every time I see that guitar I sold it so I didn't have to be reminded of it in all the sad memories a box of my life Guitar Center offer to buy it back not even a month later for $700 I took a beating on it anyhow just to get rid of it all I can say is buyer beware don't make the same mistake I did I listen to all the lies Dayton make money off commission they will tell you anything you want to hear to sell it to you at the purchase is made they don't even wanna know you
I have been a customer of guitar center for many years, however they have finally tipped the iceberg with utterly terrible service. A year ago, I ordered a Gretsch Streamliner, and what did they send me? A Schecter. They sent me the wrong guitar, and did I get any compensation? No. While I don't expect compensation, I felt as though I was deserving of it.
My most recent issue is the real kicker: I ordered a Gretsch Rancher Falcon acoustic guitar online. It arrives, and something is immediately not right. The guitar doesn't play correctly and sounds strange. I wait a while to bring it in to have replaced / repaired but it is still under the Gretsch two-year warranty. When I do bring it in, they take it, and weeks go by with no word. Finally, I get a call, and they forgot they even had it. Another week goes by, and they claim that they just simply won't fix it because "Fender said so" (Fender owns Gretsch guitars). I had a suspicion they weren't being truthful as I know Guitar Center's reputation for lying is rather appalling. I call Fender customer service, and what do they say? Amazingly, they say my issue with the guitar was within the requirements of the warranty and we're happy to help me.
Do yourself a favor folks and go through Sweetwater or Sam Ash or any other place than Guitar Center. They SUCK!

They try and sell you USED gear as NEW. And once you catch them in the act, they blame it on their computer system. Didn't even offer me a discount after that, they only tried to then give me a new box. Never apologized! I'LL NEVER GO TO THEIR STORE AGIAN. IT WAS AS IF THEY DIDN'T EVEN CARE..
I'm a professional musician/song writer. I've dealt with Guitar Center in Pasadena, Ca., Hollywood, Folsom, Ca, & Palmdale. Personally, I've never had a bad experience with them. I've purchased literally tens of thousands of dollars worth of gear. 3 Drum sets, 6 guitars, recording gear, monitors, everything conceivable. I'm a drummer, so I'm Always needing something. Dan at the Palmdale store is terrific. If you want a deal, ask how much they can discount, and they will. The quality of their gear is first rate. I just ordered a new DW 7 piece kit. It took 2 weeks to arrive. I got a Great deal on the kit, as I also purchased some new Zildjian A customs, double kick pedal, and stands. I showed them the best prices I found online, and Dan didn't just match it, he took an additional 10% off in appreciation for being a loyal customer. There have been a couple of idiots, but they're everywhere. I deal with the managers, and leave 100% satisfied virtually every time. If something is broken, or stops functioning, refunds are No problem. I have nothing negative to say about Guitar Center, and to me it's kind of shocking that it's rated so low here. Most pro musicians I know purchase there, unless of course you're sponsored. Try the managers there. Hoping you have good experiences there as well!
Okay. I walked into "Scam Center" and went to the drums & percussion department to tell the employee there I wanted to resell a drum set that I bought from them. When I get there, the employee's on the phone. So I stood aside waiting for him. When it seemed like he was going to be on the phone for a while, I went to another employee. This employee tells me that I need to speak to the manager. When the manager shows up, I explain to him that I'm there to resell an item. He tells me to go upstairs and that he'll bring up a cart. Then the employee from the drums & percussion department shows up. He tells me that the manager told him to look at the brand and if it's not top quality, then they won't buy it back. Why didn't the manager tell me that when we spoke? That place is in such discord. "Scam Center" is running itself into the ground. When you walk in, before you speak to anybody, you feel lost. Then, when you speak to someone you feel more lost. From your so-called "sales," "discounts," and "promos," to your "items," everything about "Guitar Center" spells scam. Business is only good when money is going into your pockets. But when it's the other way around, there's all these "rules and regulations." Why weren't these "rules and regulations" in place when I was making the purchase. How are you going to sell me a product, then turn around and say the brand is too low quality or cheap to buy back.
I went to GC a few days ago and was the second on in line waiting to get in. I got in knowing what I wanted. I told a guy at the desk I wanted a Les Paul, didn't tell him the exact model. They are in a room he said and also said he would send a rep there. I went to the room where only one person allowed because of the COVID situation. I looked and saw a lot of the lower-priced Les Pauls not even there even when they said they were in stock. I thought ok when the rep comes I will ask for the model I was looking for maybe they're in the back (sell tactic to see the better ones aka higher priced ones). He never came I waited 30 minutes in that room and it seemed like an hour. This is not a one-time situation I've been there before COVID and they just don't seem to have great care in customers. Most people deal with them because they are basically the only game in town to not have shipped. If I owned that company I would maybe give them incentives on sales to change the atmosphere. When you go to spend over a 1K and feel like your on your own that's terrible.
Tip for consumers:
As long as you know your money is no big deal to them then you can give your money
I ordered the gibson SG 61 maestro vibrola as I waited days for it, as I opened it with excitement I was disappointed and infuriated as it was the wrong guitar, in fact the guitar they sent me was 500$ cheaper than what I payed, so I spent about an hour on the phone trying to get my return label, and so I sent it back, 5 days later they send me another guitar, it arrived, and it was the same exact guitar they previously sent me, wrong again so here I am waiting for my refund, I do not recommend this experience for anyone, please save your money and do not ever support this company it's a joke and a waste of your time.
I ordered a Gibson 2019 Les Paul Junior Doublecutaway Tribute here on 10/23/18. Two weeks had gone by and I had never received my guitar. I had called them a couple of times to see what the status of it was because the tracking number they gave me from UPS had just said that the label was created and it hadn't even left the store yet. After dealing with their customer service and getting the number from the store it supposedly shipped from they had told me the guitar was shipped out 10/29/18 and they were not sure why the tracking information had never updated. So on Monday 11/5/18 I was finally so fed up with their customer service I told them to cancel my order and to refund my money. But the fun doesn't stop there. I was told my three different guitar center employees that the money would be refunded back to my card that I purchased the guitar that I never received on. Come to find out that gave it back to me as in store credit which I specifically asked them not to do. So three weeks later I am guitarless and guitar center still has my money. I have spent thousands of dollars with this company before and to be treated like this by their customer service department is a blow to the face. I will never give guitar center my business again after dealing with this event. Their customer service is god awful and I hope no one has to go through this same instance.
HMMMM WHERE DO I START... FIRST OFF I JUST WANT TO SAY WITH GUITAR CENTERS CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU HAVE TO KEEP CALLING AND CALLING TRYING TO GET AN AMERICAN ON THE PHONE AND TRYING TO FIND AN AMERICAN REP THAT WONT SCREW YOU OVER. I WAS LIED TO ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS REGARDING AN ORDER. I WAS TOLD I HAD OVER 200 DOLLARS IN CREDIT AND I PLACED 2 ORDERS WITH THAT SO CALLED CREDIT JUST FOR THOSE ORDERS TO BE CANCELLED AND WHERE I HAD TO CALL 8 TIMES IN A ROW AFTER ALREADY SPENDING 2 HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH INCOMPETENT SO CALLED REPS THAT JUST KEPT NOT HELPING ME OUT. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS AND I AM SO DISGUSTED AND FED UP ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY... SMDH

I purchased a drum kit online. Their site states that it will be delivered via frieght and customer wil be contacted to set up a delivery time. I called and spoke to 2 different people at GC that verified that I would be contacted after the purchase to set up a time for delivery. After placing my order I rec'd an email that night that the delivery was set for 2 days. I called GC to let them know I need to set up a delivery for a time that I would be home. They told me not their problem to contact friehgt co. Well it is on thier site stating I would be contacted and I spoke to someone. They could care less. They also have no contact info for the freight co. I wanted to set up a time/day so I would be home and it wouldn't be left at my front door for someone to steal. I was also told it would be 3-5 days which was great as I would have been home on any day from 3 to 10 days after placing my order so I wasn't concerned about a specific time. ALSO there is NO WAY to get in touch with Fed ex about the delivery. What a bunch of lies about delivery just to get the sale.

The management, make you very comfortable at first. Then after i made a few returns the second manager, told me this is your last return, even if something is wrong with it. Before that, i was telling them how sorry i am for the returns, and they always used to tell me not to worry about it, 'this is what we do so as long as you return before 45 days, all we care about is your satisfaction' i used to hear that until my last return, when the manager said, NO MORE RETURNS!, thats after talking on phone with management, they said ' no problem, just bring it in and we will take care of your problem' but when i took my guitar in, they had a hole different
Attitude about it, and told me NO MORE RETURNS! Now do you people get it, build someones hopes up and then drop those hopes, that is what guitar center
Does, trust me, not what i thought it was. Please if anyone is going through this s***
Write a review. Plus like mark b. Said about the emails is true that happened to me
Where i had to call them, because when my order came in it had already been 2 days without an email, a few times they did that. The Bakersfield guitar center.
Be careful buying any guitars right now, lots of counterfeit knock offs have been retrieved by border agents custom's and DHS if memory serves me correctly..
Tip for consumers:
There are good Pepe's at guitar center but be careful a lot of counterfeit guitars from out of country have been being seized by agents

Rubbish customer service. They routinely sell items knowing they don't have them in stock. Just stick with Amazon or B&H Photo.
Guitar Center is the absolute worst…
Guitar Center is the absolute worst music supplier to deal with. Thru the years i've had issues with their selling techniques ie. Selling items they don't have in stock. Most recently I ordered a Ric 4003s bass on July 15,2021 a few days later sorry but your item is no longer in stock. I figured okay supply issues maybe 4-6 month wait. After initial wait i contacted them and was given a delivery date, 0f 2-2-22 needless to say that date passed as well and called again, new delivery date of 4-24-22.
I received a phone call March 29th telling me sorry but the item you ordered was no longer available because Rickenbacker had discontinued the 4003S would i like a different model., Being a bit suspicious I contacted Rickenbacker directly, as i thought GC lied.
I wasn't charged for the item but due to their practices GC can forget me as a customer. My GC gear card will be canceled as there are plenty of other music dealers around maybe more costly but worth the time and effort.
As there is no option I had to give it 1 rating otherwise i would give it only zero.
I hate to say that i got cheated twice by this stupid company. I should have avoided this company when i got cheated the first time but it was my stupidity caught me. First time I ordered a Roli seaboard block and the order got accepted and confirmed then the status got changed to shipped and i was so excited to get my hands on it and suddenly after a couple of days they say the order has been cancelled. There i got cheated on my emotions and the second time is worse.
Recently I ordered Native Instruments Komplete 13 as it was showing it was on a deal($300). As i ordered that i also ordered other software instruments from 8Dio (worth of $300) which need Kontakt Player full version which comes with this. The after three days the order got cancelled and they say they dont have in the inventory. They dont even consider my problem that i already spent a few hundred dollars on 8Dio which will need Kontakt full version to play. They offer 10% discount on Komplete 14($600) which is ridiculous.
I think they just cheat their customers making them come to their website and place orders so that they can show high number of orders.
Please let me know if there is a way to complaint against this stupid company.
Guitar Center refused to except my State Tax Exempt status - unbelievable! Guess I'll be buying from the other guitar outlets that do...
I recently went into Guitar Center in Greensboro, NC and ordered a New MPC One because they only had used models in store, which I wasn't interested in. I paid cash $746+. 5 days later, I get the email informing me that my package has arrived, so I head to pick it up. Get home, open the shipping box and can't believe what I've been sent. Not a new, but a USED product! No instructions, no warranty card, power cord just tossed in the box, a million fingerprints on the screen and buttons. Yeah, I was pretty upset to say the least. Sped straight back to the store to give their junk back to them. Then it got even better folks. I guy in Pro Audio offered to re-order for my and promised to "make sure I got a new one this time". WASN'T THAT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN THE FIRST TIME, IF THAT'S WHAT I PAID FOR?! So, when I declined, my options became either accepting a check ( remember I paid cash), or store credit(LOL). Yeah, no thanks on the store credit. No apologies, not even any pretend " We don't know how this happened, we'll get to the bottom of it. So, we'll just assume this is standard practice. These products can be pricey. Electronics glitch, malfunction, burnout, die. I, for one, expect to get what I pay for. In this case, I'm more disappointed than anything. Hopefully my experience will save you a headache. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GUITAR CENTER!

I re-ordered the same Akai MPC One from a different Musical Instrument supply company.
If you want a less than great experience, order something online from guitar center! We ordered a Christmas gift for our son back on 12/19/21 with a 12/22 expected deliver date, which never arrived. Guitar Center is taking no responsibility and are now passing the buck to UPS after it has been under investigation for 10 days. Still no resolution 20 days after the initial order. At this point, I just want my order, but calling customer service, talking to them through messenger and email has got us nothing but lip service. I will never buy anything from this company again. We'll likely need to do charge back with the credit card company and reorder through Amazon, which we should have done in the first place!
Update 1/14 Well for those who have seen my previous posts we are still fighting with Guitar Center on an order we placed before Christmas! After 10 days of not receiving it they told us was an a UPS issue and would need to investigate, but would it take up to 10 business day. 10 business days came and went and I PM'd them to which they gave me an 800 number and said to call and they would resend the order. My wife then called and spoke to someone who said they would need to investigate further but would have it resolved by today 1/14. Well, as you can imagine, she called today and surprisingly they still haven't figured it out and can't send a replacement until a "supervisor" looks at it. If you've read my previous post you'll noticed that I asked to speak to a supervisor nearly 3 weeks ago and was denied. These people are playing games! Don't spend your money at this place! They are completely incompetent. Spend the extra $20 and buy from Amazon or Sweetwater where you'll be taken care of. This is the last time I ever do business with Guitar Center.
Tip for consumers:
Awful customer. Unwilling to help resolve by refunding or sending new item.

Order electric drum set that never arrived. Still waiting after nearly 1 month.
I placed an order online for in-store pickup on 12/27. The items I ordered were listed as being in-stock and available for same-day pickup at my local store.
After paying and receiving a confirmation email that my order would be ready, and after waiting about an hour, I got another email saying my order cancelled. No explanation was given. So I called customer service and was told that the order should in fact, go through, after he handled some things on their system. The representative then reactivated the order.
About an hour later, the order was cancelled, AGAIN. No explanation given.
So I contacted customer service. Again.
They told me that even though the items were available, that their in-store pickup orders take 24 hours to process. What? Their website clearly says "SAME-DAY PICKUP."
So I patiently waited for a day. Then I went to check the status of my order and notice that it changed to "shipped." Why is my order being shipped if their website says they're already in stock?
I called the actual store where I was supposed to pick up my items. They told me that in order to ensure that I was getting new, unopened items, that they had to have them shipped to the store, which takes 5-10 days.
If I had known that, I would have just had them SHIPPED TO MY HOME from the start. Not only that, if I'd have ordered from somewhere else, I would have gotten a better price, AND received them sooner. The whole entire purpose of me ordering from them, and paying full price, was to be able to receive them right away.
But instead they offer literally zero communication and this whole experience has been a huge inconvenience. When they cancelled the order they could have told me that they didn't actually have the items on hand, but they didn't. I'd rather cancel the whole order- but even if I do that I'll have to wait several days just for my refund anyway so I can't even go elsewhere.
Absolutely disgusting and deceiving. Never doing business here again.
These shleps will charge ya 100+dollars, for something they bought for 50 bucks, i would not recommend to anyone!
I had placed an order for in store pickup online and never received any confirmation email even though I was billed on my card for the purchase.
I went into the store several hours after having placed the order and they were not able to look up my order. The person at the counter told me I would have been better off coming in and purchasing it directly from the store. He stated that many other customers have the same issue. He was not able to give me what I had paid for and told me to try again later.
Upon contacting the online support, they wouldn't give me a time frame nor could they tell me if it was ready or not. I requested confirmation and they kept telling me one was sent even though there was nothing in my inbox or spam folder. They did not seem concerned at the least that their confirmation emails were not coming through. Also they gave me the store number and just told me to keep calling until my order was ready.
A customer should not have to call repeatedly to verify whether or not their order is able to be picked up. Especially if they already wasted time trying to acquire it earlier before contacting support. I had to practically beg them to contact the store for me.
After all this, I have yet to still go back and see if my order is in fact ready but this whole experience leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I will never shop at this establishment again. Customer service didn't seem to want to do anything to compensate for the hassle. I won't be surprised if they go the way of many other physical locations and close their doors after bankruptcy. Especially with this terrible customer service they provide.
Friendly and helpful. Took the time to help find the perfect Christmas gift. Sam Tollefson excellent customer service!
