I was quoted one rate, but charged a much higher rate. I emailed the company to discuss, but as they had already charged my card they did not seem to care. I have had no response from them at all. The work was good and the service up to that point good. However, when you quote a charge for 1 hr of work you should not up that by an additional $60 for no reason (work only took 1 hr).

Oliver is the guy's name from Half Price Geeks, he showed up and did an awesome job of fixing the problem with my computer, there were so many changes done. When he left I noticed that a few of the simple tasks that I need my computer to do I can't do them anymore because of the changes, I messaged Oliver for a solution to the problem but never heard back from him at all. I'm very disappointed that there is no follow up service at all after paying an expensive repair bill. I have no choice but to try and figure this out on my own.
The over phone on line software upgrade with Oliver went swimmingly. My phone kept disconnecting but he kept at it until the job was done. Today is my on-site help with a new printer. We'll see how that goes. Thanks.

I have used Half Price Geeks for 15+ years -- always with great success. Oliver is a wonder and very patient with my bumbling. This time I had nuked everything-- on 2 computers and he recovered it all. Thanks for saving me-- once again.
Had malware on laptop for several months. Constant pop ups which took several minutes to close and access internet. Found service during internet search. Call was answered quickly. Staff was professional by asking questions related to issue and explaining the process of service needed to address and future recommendations. Staff called around time of appointment and walked and explained steps needed to complete mission. Computer has been working like new with much satisfaction of not having to spend time with pop ups. I don't know about cost comparison, as in my situation, the issues, time spent of staff ( not long), and convenience if not having leave home was worth it. I do recommend the company as my experience was positive in all areas.
The person who came out couldn't figure out how to do some of what needed to be done. So, he sat there and researched on his cell phone how to do some of the tasks. While the rate was lower, I ended up paying as much or more for his research than I would have with someone more experienced. And one of my issues still isn't solved, just got an unwieldy work-around.

From researching the techs detailed notes you had multiple issues that were resolved. You were wanting to do things on the printer that the HP settings don't allow. I had a very good experience with the Half price Geeks company. They helped guide me through a long and arduous rebooting of my computer after I had been a victim of an internet security scam. Oliver, the young technician who worked with me, was very cordial, helpful and patiently informed me of every aspect of the process. He went out of his way to make sure I understood what was happening and that i was completely satisfied with his work. I am very grateful for his efforts in making the whole process complete and satisfactory.
For the first time after all the years I have been using them, I am somewhat dissatisfied with the outcome of my service. While the initial problem was somewhat corrected, it created another problem. I told the representative who did the follow-up call about this and I never heard from them again. I expected to be contacted to correct the new problem. Never happened
Upon researching your issue, I see that you were to call our dispatcher back when things slowed down for you. I show the call logs and email correspondence of our dispatcher reaching out to you along with the notes of your response. Our dispatcher was waiting on your call back after being told you didn't have the time to deal with your issue. I also see notes stating that your issues are resolved and that a tech worked with you at no additional cost for a second new issue.
I have had the problem with my printer not printing previously. The time it took to fix this problem should have taken about 20 minutes. The time you took was obviously dragged out to over an hour in order to charge me more. Since contacting you my printer will no longer print in color and I need more service.

After reviewing the notes it looks like you were not able to print from your computer to the printer. The tech has very detailed notes as to what was done. The issue could not have been resolved in 20 mins. Our job is to fix the issue and to not provide substandard rush service. Your not printing in color would be an issue with your print cartridges, the tech helped to connect you back to printing, which was the initial reason for your call.
At 82, I never would expect that the service provided to me by Avast would switch me over to some technical support group that actually caused me to call your company to clean up my computer. Your agent kept me informed as to what he was doing, and also supplied me with a new security system on my computer. I was happy with his service and have already recommended your service to another person in my building. It was a pleasure working with your company, and I hope I will not let another person take over my computer without thorough knowledge of what they want to do, and then I will hang up and call you.
My "geek" successfully cleaned my iMac of 25 viruses and upgraded my Mac OS. He was knowledgeable, efficient and extremely helpful. Overall an excellent experience and I will use Half Price Geeks again in 2017 to set up a new iMac computer system for me.
As always, Oliver completely fixed the problem I was having with my computer. In less than twenty minutes, I was up and running perfectly again. Oliver is absolutely the best tech there and we will continue to use him and refer him to anyone in need.
I thought Oliver was knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. However, he may not realize how limited some people are on computers except for very basic things they are doing. I paid for web root and now I really don't know how to activate it.

My desktop needed virus removal, and most of the c-drive copied onto an external. I'm not the most tech-savvy person in the world, and Chris, at Half-Price Geeks talked me through the entire process while he did it remotely, and at the end (about four-and-a-half hours), I was very pleased with the outcome of my files, and the final charges.
My computer was evaluated and worked on remotely. I was contacted on time. The person working on my machine, Oliver was very professional and very knowledgable.
It took a long time to complete the needed work partly because I'm not computer literate., in fact about 21/2 hours and then checked with 4 different programs to make certain there were no residual problems.

They came out to fix my sound issue and printer issue. Was able to diagnose quickly and solve the problem. Friendly and informative person. Price was reasonable. Only issue was I wish they would confirm the appointment by email at least a day in advance instead of the morning of the appointment.
Very pleased with the quick turnaround to resolve an issue I encountered with a virus. Not only was the repair faster than the other services, the cost of repair was extremely kind to my office budget. Not sure how they can out perform the other services at a lower cost but I am the last person to complain.

I will be a customer of halflpricegeeks from now on. The only problerm is that Oliver deleted Renweb which is site for teachers to put in grades and do other things. Also the computer seems slower rather than faster. However I am more than satisfied with the work of the technician.
He fixed the problem which was wires plugged in wrong. The price was waaaay too high. Next time I'll just ask tech savy friends for help.
