Ordered a sexy genie costume from them for a photo shoot. Arrived in about a weeks time with no issues. If you wait till the week or two before halloween, like every costume shop... expect there to be craziness, less then perfect customer service and shortage of items, so shop early. Courtney
I sent my return back immediately after receiving it with all items in tack and I'm still (4 weeks later) waiting for my refund. Horrible customer service. They will get back to you right away but keep telling you the same thing over and over. Will NEVER purchase from them again.
I was gonna be the corpse bride this year. Browsed many costume online stores, finally I got this one. But I was so disappointed rather than surprised. My costume arrived 8 days after I placed my order. That was nice. However, the costume was far different from the one I want and the one in the cartoon. The wig was so fake. I don't even wanna use it. I should have get a casual white wedding dress from Persundresses.com. That was my former plan. But I am kinda on a budget, so I finally decided to get it from a costume store. This costed me $71.97. If I had known that, I would rather get the dress and draw it myself. I could do better than them. And the dress is just a little bit over $100 too. Warnings that everyone don't buy from them. They never offer a full refund even with tags. :(
Beware of false promises! I ordered two costumes from them with a promised delivery date of Friday, When I receive my tracking info it said Monday. The only reason I ordered from here is due to the promised delivery. When I contacted them they did say they would issue a shipping credit, a voucher to their store, really? Anyway, I feel very mislead and will contact the bbb to see about their false advertising
Not worth any more than $20.00. Had to wrap her hands in gauze to cover the wires. Had to hot glue the top of her dress to her neck to cover the screws. I would not recommend this to anyone. I would have preferred that her eyes just lit up without the conversation.
A few days before Halloween, I purchased a costume for my dog because the website offered delivery by October 30th if I ordered within a few hour time frame. I called the order department to make sure I picked the correct shipping method to have this item by the 30th. I chose an expedited shipping (14.99) and placed the order with the representative so I didn't make a mistake. I did not receive this costume by the 30th and when I called today I spoke to Tiffany in customer service who told me that Halloween Express offers no explicit delivery dates and that the 30th was an estimate. She told me my order SHOULD come sometime today (on Halloween). I'm hoping it does. She was not nice. She was not helpful. And I am very annoyed that I did not buy this costume through a more reputable site like Amazon who does guarantee a delivery date. I feel like I was deceived by this company.
I ordered two costumes and the one was way to big and the other included a mask. The mask smelled so bad it made me sick. It was also distorted, permanently wrinkled and none of the eye or mouth openings aligned. Top that off and the customer service was terrible. They wouldn't allow me to return the mask.
We ordered a costume for my husband for a big event we were going to. The costume was ordered over a week in advance of the event, giving plenty of time for shipping, etc. The costume arrived 5 days later and half of it was not there. We immediately called the costumer service number. We requested to have the missing items sent and we were told that was not possible. We were told that they do not overnight ship and that they would offer us a partial credit. How can you only wear half of a costume? Why can't they overnight ship? THEY were the ones that failed to send the complete costume (This was not a cheap costume either). We are so disgusted by the lack of commitment and customer service. I will NEVER shop at this store again and encourage all to look at other Halloween costume stores.
Wouldn't even give this site any stars if it was possible. Tried to cancel my order less than 12 hours after I placed it and before it had shipped and they wouldn't let me. Told me I could return it, but there is a shipping fee to send it back. Meanwhile, I've been getting emails saying "Your order has not shipped", "Attention: Order incomplete", "Your order is pending". Also, these have just been the titles of the emails... no information within the actual email explaining what is wrong. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE... EVER
I ordered outfit from Costume Express, UPS lost it and they refused to send overnight another for a Halloween party that weekend. UPS contacted me the day after Halloween and had located it. I told them to send it back and hung up. They're pathetic and UPS not much better
I bought 5 items from this company and when they arrived, 2 out of the 5 were damaged (and not from the shipping) The shoes were all scuffed up and one of the costumes and a big rip down the front. I called on Mon and they said they would ship me out a new pair of shoes by Thurs. Which is when I needed them. It is now the following Monday, and they still haven't arrived. As for the ripped costume, I asked if I will be reimbursed for the return shipping charges since the item they sent was obviously damaged. The customer rep I spoke with kind of chuckled saying "no," and got VERY passive-agresive with me explaining how her company already lost a lot of money on me by resending out the shoes. Uh, Hello... It's your company's fault that I recieved damaged shoes in the first place, and there fault that they didn't follow through on their promise to get the new pair to me by Thurs. I wish I took her name because the way she acted was totally uncalled for.
I have dropped over $2k with this company, and in the order I received a broken snowblower, broken remotes, and spilled fluid. I got in touch with Halloween Express and Was put thru the ringer just to try get replacements for what I paid for. I mean I did drop quite a bit already with this company, but nope! They play games. The right arm doesn't talk to the left. Finally when I was able to get this handled, I asked for a return label and was denied! What? I have to pay to ship your faulty product back? I ALREADY PAID FOR SHIPPING WHEN IT GOT HERE! Still no way would they reimburse me. Nope. AND their stuff isn't that great guys. Go to Vegas and other specialty stores. They have better quality and sales. I saw when it was too late.
If my review can get 1 person to think twice about having an experience like mine using halloweenexpress.com than it will be worth it.
I placed my order more than two weeks before Halloween. I had surfed on the internet all night to find the one Skeleton costume that my 6 year old son wanted and in his size. Finally, I found one available at halloweenexpress.com so of course I order it right away. The package arrives 1 week before Halloween, not only is the costume not the same one on the website (this skeleton costume did not have the arms painted on and the feet dangled where they kids shins are which is why my son wanted the other costume, it had arms and the feet went down all the way to the feet), they gave me a large instead of a medium.
I contacted them immediately to let them know, the tone in the customer service reps emails were rude. Finally, they say they will go ahead and send me the right size.
Three days before Halloween I get an "update" email, they don't have that costume in stock anymore. They tell me if I want my money back, I have to send the other costume back and eat the cost of shipping. I sent about four emails demanding they refund my money since they sold a costume they didn't even have in stock and then sent me the completely wrong costume and size. I never got a response and I had to go buy another costume for my son (even though I was broke).
Funny, even after they said they didn't have the costume in stock, it continued to show as available on their website. I wonder how many others ordered it and got the wrong one and had to disappoint their child.
Paid extra for guaranteed delivery date, and IT DID NOT SHOW UP ON TIME. Their remedy is to offer a store credit for the shipping costs only. You're still out the costume & replacement costs if you needed it that day, and have to pay shipping to return the costume out of your own pocket. THEN, to return an item, you have to sign in, fill out the return form, print numerous copies, wait for an email confirming the return & giving a return number, print THAT sheet & put it in the box, find the correct address to ship the return (there's a correct & incorrect address), write the return number on the package, pay for shipping, and then you can return it - most likely at a 15% restocking fee. If you don't like jumping through hoops, stay away from this store. They're not easy to work with.

No one should ever order from here If their inventory system is so bad that they can't tell if an item is in stock when you order it, and their customer service is the worst. When I was talking to a customer service rep. She didn't care or listen to me.

If I could give this place negative 10 stars, I would! I ordered a costume for a bachelorette party, but a few minutes later, I found the same costume online for much cheaper. Since they have a guaranteed refund policy, I figured I'd just email them to cancel my order so I can get a full refund. I wanted to save them the trouble of having to ship the item to me. The customer service rep I chatted with, DEB, was so incredibly rude and basically said that the item I ordered was about to be shipped so they would not issue me the refund. I asked if there was any way she can intervene since technically it has not been shipped yet, but she didn't want to lift a finger. In fact, she became more irate and rude as I kept trying to ask her to help me. She said I literally have to receive the item, then send it right back for the refund, which means I now have to spend more money sending the item back to them! Not only is it extremely wasteful on an environmental standpoint, but it makes absolutely no business sense! Ridiculous! DEB, I'm surprised your pea sized brain allows you to hold down a job, let alone one that requires decent customer service. BEWARE OF THIS WEBSITE! DO NOT ORDER HERE!

They sell poor quality and then try to hide it.
I bought the "Medusa Headpiece" and it came in poor quality. It was made shabbily. The stitching was mismatched and loosely done, one of the snake heads was just sitting in the box, unattached to the body of the snake. The final part was the led light not working. I glued the snake head back on and tried to fix the stitching, but I was saving turning the light on until a specific part of the event. I figured if the rest of the product was made so badly that the light wouldn't last for very long. I didn't realize that it wouldn't work at all. This was very disappointing to me, as it was the final straw on an product that seemed to have no standards what so ever.
I submitted an accurate review of all of the issues and received an email stating that they would not publish my review on their website because the product I received was defective. I told them that their customers should be aware of the level of quality they too could receive. They still will not post my review, so I'm posting it here.

One of the worst experiences in a while. S. Manager Karen Cabrera and staff at the store in Brandon, Florida are RUDE and do not want to sell their product. Three days before Halloween and they do not want to take a coupon from Halloween Express as she states she is a "Francise Store" DO NOT GO THERE! Go to SPIRIT where they are friendly and want your $$$ and business.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The young lady and older woman were NOT helpful whatsoever. They were pretty much pushing us out of the door. We asked questions and they were annoyed with every single one. For some reason I STILL purchased a costume. Got home and tried it on again a few days later realizing that it did NOT fit correctly. I called the store to ask if there's anyway I can return or exchange costume since I will NOT BE ABLE TO WEAR IT! They had my on hold for what felt like 10 minutes and a man answers. I let him know my situation and asked if there is anything he can do. He said "sorry ma'am since people are wearing these costumes we are unable to take them back" " mind you it was only 3 days that I had this costume in which it SAT IN THE BAG THE WHOLE TIME. I told him that and he continues with "sorry we just can't" are you kidding me?

BUY IT SOMEWHERE ELSE! My 4 yr old son loves dinosaurs and the costume he wanted was out of stock. I continued to searched online and finally found one at Halloween Express. I was thrilled. I ordered the costume on 10/13/2015, they processed payment on 10/14 and was guaranteed delivery by 10/21. On 10/22, I did not have the costume and called customer service. Waited 35 minutes to talk to someone and to get a blanket response that there was a shipping delay, the package was at UPS and it was getting scanned and I was guaranteed to have it by the end of 10/23. It is the morning of 10/23, checked my email and the website and I still do not have a tracking #! So far I have been on hold waiting to talk to someone in customer service for 20+ minutes. How does it take 8 business days to process an order? BIG FAIL COSTUME EXPRESS! We are attending a Halloween Party tomorrow and I have to 3 kids all 4 and under shopping at Halloween stores! I can not express to readers how absolutely terrible this company is. I made my first purchase on Oct 6. After I had not received the package a week later I contacted a representative (after being on hold for 40 minutes) and she had stated it was in Toronto and to check my local post office. I had explained I live in a city with a population of 2.6 million people, we do not have a "local" post office. She then gave me the tracking number (which I had not received by email as promised). When I hung up and tried locating the tracking number on the Canada post website and it had not existed. When I called back I was then placed on hold for another 40 minutes only to be told by the next representative that the package was lost in Toronto (proof that the first employee either did not know what she was doing, or was lying to me). I asked to speak to a manager who said that she would refund me for the first order, and apply a discount to reorder the package again, including express shipping for my troubles. She had also told me she would send me a personal email when the package was being sent out, which of course did not happen. The second order was placed on October 16th and once again I did not receive the package. With that, my original order was $176, and I was only refunded HALF of that amount. After contacting costume express over 20 times, I was promised calls back to sort out the shortage of money by two other employees. But of course, no phone call was ever received. After just speaking to another manager, he stated the second package had arrived to my post office, which after checking with Canada post, they stated that this tracking number I was provided did not even exist, thus determining I was lied to yet again. We are now owed a lot of money for both transactions and have threatened to take legal action if the money is not refunded by tomorrows date. Buyers be warned, you will not receive your package, and monitor your banking as the refunds they promise you will not be received either. Lastly, do not assume they will call you back as good customer service representatives will do. Make sure you take down names and badge numbers and get the problem solved on the spot. It is a shame to think this terrible company could be still receiving/stealing money from its buyers.
