In early December, I ordered an item from Hammacher Schemmer for my wife for a Christmas present. I paid $17.95 for 5 to 7 days shipping. A few days before Christmas I called Hammacher to find out the status of my order. It was then I was told that the item was on back order and it would not be shipped until mid January. After numerous emails, it was decided by Hammacher Schemmer to refund their shipping fees. But that refund never came. But Hammacher Schemmer did send me an email inviting me to review the item I bought. Oh,….i did. I put them on blast. I got another email saying that they were going refund my shipping and it was "processing". It's now the end of the month and it's still processing. AND they deleted my review.
I placed an order on 11/20/23. One month later, after three emails and one phone call, I have received nothing. I was assured it would have expedited delivery but is still showing as in process. The only good thing is that my bank was never charged. Definitely will never be ordering from them again.
I ordered a portable TV which was not available to be shipped for one month. Upon arrival, it did not work at all. My understanding is that I am going to be charged shipping and processing fees. Also, they don't have tech support unless you email and then you are told that it will be 2 to 3 days before someone can contact you. Finally, I learned that I can buy the same item for $60 less, but they don't tell you the brand until you receive it.

I purchased their Best Ideal Temperature Dry Eye Relief Mask, price $113.52. Received it the end of April; it stopped working by early July, i.e., it work for about 2 1/2 months. They agreed that the was defective but the refund deducted $14 for handling and the total shipping. This is really unacceptable for an item that should work for years, costs over $100, yet only worked for a couple of months.

I ordered some Christmas items in October.
1. The page clearly shows around 18-22 of garland that goes around your door but at the very bottom in fine print it states your only getting 6' of the item. This is like showing someone a car they are selling but at the bottom of ad it says the tires are a seperate cost.
2. It never arrived after 2 months.
3. I called to ask about my order and the girl hung up on me.
Do not order from this scam site. Its all lies in the pictures and they never ship it so they are ripping you off twice.

The Hammacher Schlemmer website has reviews touting how wonderful this tree is. Ours was not made correctly; the light strands are too long on one side so they hang loosely. I have heard others finding this same problem also. The lights work randomly and when you turn the tree off with the remote, some strands stay on unless you unplug it (see photo with two strands lit during the day, the tree is "off". I am extremely disappointed with it, especially for the price.
I received my Portable DVD player today and put a new DVD in and it played for about 45 minutes and then stopped and just made a lot of scrubbing noise! I will be contacting the company tomorrow! A bit disappointed that it did not work as expected, but I am going to what they are going to do about it. This player total cost with tax and shipping was over $200.00! The item is very nice though if it would work!

Several years ago we purchased a 50' stainless steel hose that started leaking at one end. I returned the failed hose in early July 2023 expecting to get a replacement. Since then I have called customer service at least a dozen times without success at getting a replacement or refund. I am resigned to the fact that a replacement or refund will not occur. I am done making any future purchases from this company and would advise others to not do so. They are a big scam! Arrrrggghhh
Terrible experience with this company--will never shop here again. They sent me a defective item, and now I've been waiting a solid month to receive my $265 refund! After contacting customer service 3 times. I have never in my life had to wait a month for a business to process a refund. I'm sure they intentionally put off refunding customers so they keep our money in their bank account. Get your act together, Hammacher, or don't do online business!
Their "lifetime guarantee" is worthless! They deduct shipping and "service" fees, AND they it takes forever. I bought an electric toothbrush from them 3 months ago and it quit working. They never picked up their customer service phone line (I was on hold for nearly an hour three times, so sent an email. I got a reply 3 days later saying they would look into it. Then I got an email from their warehouse saying they didn't have the part I needed. I told them I just wanted a replacement and haven't heard anything back from them in over a week. When you are used to Amazon taking returns back without delay, this really stands out as unsatisfactory. I will NEVER buy from Hammacher Schlemmer again.

The "Gingerbread Man Mini Waffle Maker" says "recipes included" but has NO gingerbread recipes and they'll charge me $10.95 to return it! I bought it exactly one month ago. Spoke to a customer service rep about returning it and she confirmed they would deduct $10.95 from my credit and I must pay my own postage. Totally misleading ripoff and disappointing from what I thought was a reputable company.

I bought a product from them in Feb. 2021. The leg rejuvenator. It turned out to be a piece of junk. I sent it back with their return label. They received the item on March 2. I did not get my refund yet. They said it would be at least another week or two. This is terrible that customers should be waiting so long for a refund, if I get one at all. In April I'm going to call my AMEX and place a dispute. I will not be buying from them again.

I ordered a tree they sent tile cleaner instead; I called they promised new tree in 4 days; I called on day 5 and they were sold out- they never thought to tell me or refund me. This is after having almost the same fact pattern last year! Last year the sent me a tree with a missing section, ran out of supply, and I had to fight with them that time also to get my refund.
About a year ago, Hammacher Schlemmer ("HS") asked me to provide customer feedback. I did and it was not favourable, so I received a call from one of it's agents. During that conversation, the HS agent repeated several times that what distinguishes HS from its competitors (e.g., Wayfair) is that each item purchased from HS comes with a lifetime warranty. I recently tried to process a refund under that so called "lifetime" guarantee. The reality is - HS has made its claim process so convoluted, protracted, difficult and fraught with contradictory information, that it is patently obvious now that HS does everything in its power to wear you down so you eventually give up. The cost of the guarantee is built into HS's pricing, but good luck trying to recover under it. If you are genuinely interested in participating a Class Action against HS in respect of this problem, then post your interest on this site with details of how best to reach you on a private and confidential basis.

The subscription cost and automatic sign up is underhanded and deceptive and the auto billing is appalling. This company delivered 1 of 3 products purchased and then steal from customers by sliding in the subscription. I do believe this is the worst company I have ever done business with online. Their illegal cramming techniques should be stopped. The lack of transparency, integrity and honesty ensures they have zero chance of a return customer.

I ordered 3 bottles of the Ear Health supplement and it never arrived. This was over a month ago. I've called customer service twice with the promise that it was on its way. But I'm still waiting. I thought this was a reliable company. Guess not. I'm not ordering anything from them again.

I bought a gift from these guys and it was fine, no issues. What they did do was sign me up to a rewards program that I was unaware of and begin billing my credit card for $14.95 a month. I caught it this month and canceled. I won't be doing business with them going forward. These kinds of practices are scams.
A $17 shipping charge on an $80 a product that came in its own shipping package is ridiculous! But the item is guaranteed forever. I've used their return policy and they do support their warranty.
I ordered a bike rack in May for $134.46 & never received it. During CO-Vid 19 I caled cust svr several times & during this pandemic you couldn't leave a message. As of today 7/21/20 I haven't received anything but 6 times they keep trying to take my money. My bank won't let it ho through because i told them "No Product, No customer Svr. I've been scammed " in june my bank told me hammach tried 3xs for the $134.46. I woke up and 3:45am they tried again. (7th time) If they are in NY then why are they keep trying to take my $$ in the early mornings. "Seems like a China business too me".
