They automatically sign you up for a rewards program when purchasing online. Not only did my product never arrive they have charged me $45 over the last 3 months for their reward program. Beware, there was a class action lawsuit that they paid $475,000 to settle in 2022. Looks like they are back at it.

I purchased a Christmas tree from Hammacher Schlemmer and received a defective product. One section of lights did not work. I sent it back and requested an exchange. What they did was refund the cost of the tree minus the shipping ($50). I called was told the tree was not longer available and shipping is non-refundable. That is BS, they send be a defective product, they can't replace it and don't even reach out plus make me pay for the original shipping. I will never purchase anything from the again.

I ordered 3 very expensive lounge chairs from this company 7 days ago. When I placed my order, their site said that the items would ship within 24 hours. 7 days later, their site says by chairs HAVE NOT SHIPPED.
I called their Customer service phone number and listed to their recording for over 30 minutes, waiting for a Customer Service Rep to answer... but all of a sudden I was sent to a voicemail that said "Leave a message and we will call you back within 24 hours" I left a message and called their number again. NO ANSWER AFTER 72 minutes listening to their recording. Then I found the corporate office phone number, called it and pressed "0" for the receptionist... and NO ANSWER. I called back many times and could not get any of their suggested departments to answer. All this happened on a Tuesday starting at 2:30pm and I did not stop trying to reach them until 4; 30pm. I will never order from this company again. Why are they in business if they cannot answer their phone. They should shut down their catalog.
I bought this wreath in November of 2020 because it had battery powered lights. It was on sale from $99.99 to $76.00. As I was making the purchase with the customer service agent on the phone, he said that the one that I wanted was sold out so I purchased another. Less than a month later it malfunctioned and I wasn't able to turn the lights off. I called Hammacher Schlemmer to exchange it and the service representative he told me to wait until the next season to exchange it and then I could request the one that I didn't get. I called the company in July, 2021 and the girl with whom I spoke with said that I would I would have to pay an additional $36.00 to receive my replacement wreath. I told her that price reduction or increase could not be employed because Hammacher Schlemmer's lifetime guarantee. I did not receive the wreath that I was promised but received a different one. I am appalled by this company's demeanor which was far from the lifetime guarantee and I shall make a purchase again.
There was a great deal of confusion regarding a purchase I made. After several days and multiple correspondences they did the right thing. Thank you!

Hammacher Schlemmer used to be reliable and offer good quality, which made it worth the extra cost, but they have gone downhill in the past couple of years. In July, I ordered a heated eye mask, totaling $125 (had to pay for shipping and tax on top of the $100 basic cost). After 2 weeks it stopped working, it did not heat up. This was the same complaint I had seen in reviews for cheaper online sellers, where the same heated eye masks were selling for $25. I (naively) assumed that since Hammacher's eye masks cost 4 times as much, they were 4 times as good. Not true! I also assumed that since Hammacher prided themselves on "customer service" the return process would be easy. Also not true! Most reputable companies will begin shipping a replacement product as soon as the customer reports a product defect— not Hammacher! First I had to ship back the defective eye mask, and only after they received it did they initiate the order for my replacement mask. All in all, I was without this mask for 3 weeks. This was especially problematic because the heated eye mask is actually a medical device to treat a dry eye condition, so I had to go without treatment despite my calls and pleading with customer service to expedite my replacement. It would be bad enough if my story ended here, but it doesn't. The replacement heated eye mask has some sort of defect— the material is very stiff and it scratches my nose. None of the other heated eye masks that I have used had this problem, so I'm sure something is
Wrong with it. I will be returning this one as well (and Hammacher will not refund my shipping costs), and meanwhile buying a cheaper one from another vendor. I am totally disgusted with Hammacher Schlemmer. Do not believe their ads, and don't bother with their overpriced goods and supposed "customer service" because they are no better than any other vendor, and worse than many! I would give them zero stars if I had that option.

We purchased the 24" Outdoor Lighted Atomic Clock. We had previously purchased the same clock without the light option, and after one an a half years, the fascia came apart, and we called for a replacement, and they denied it since it was more than a year.(I thought they had a lifetime guarantee).
Now we ordered, and received the lighted clock which wound up costing us $182.00. The problem with this clock is, that even though it is lit (Dimly, yet) One Cannot read the time, since the dials are not lit. When we called to complain, we were given a credit for the shipping. This clock is NOT recommended.

Everything they sell for high prices is worthless Chinese-made junk. Also, they refuse to stop sending me their catalogs.

1. I bought "Automatic Flameless Candles" for $40 and later saw the exact same brand (product of China) at Walmart for $15.
2. Their so-called "non-shrinking" Cashmere sweatshirt, shrinks terribly.
3. Their made in China $40 flashlight is identical to cheaper flashlights you see at Walmart, and of course after a few months it quit working.
Do not waste your money on this company and their high-priced worthless Chinese junk.

Would NEVER order from this company again. I ordered a gift for my husband on their website. Two week AFTER I placed the order, I received an email notifying me that the order would take 3-4 weeks and apologizing that it was not stated on their website and I was not made aware of the timeframe at the time of purchase. I made the stupid decision to move forward with my purchase and wait the additional two weeks. After 3 weeks, I both emailed and called to get a status update. I sent 2 emails that went unanswered, and had to call 4 times -- each phone call I was told something different because their customer service representatives seem to have no idea what's going on. After another 6 weeks with still no shipping number, and no communication from HS on further delays, I demanded to speak to a manager. I was told by that manager that my item would be guaranteed within 7 days and that my shipping costs (I paid for expedited shipping, which is hilarious in hindsight) would be refunded. It has now been a month since that "guaranteed in a week" phone call, and my order still hasn't even been fulfilled and customer service has no information for me. I have received ZERO communication from this company explaining or apologizing for further delays and I'm told that because "it could ship at any moment" and they'd be unable to ensure the item wasn't sent before my cancellation is processed, I am unable to cancel my order. Customer service has no idea what to do, and the managers will say anything to get you off the phone without further complaints. To make matters worse, my credit card company has had to call me various times to question and verify pending charges because every single Monday, HS submits a pending charge for the amount of my item to "ensure I have the money", so they are taking up available funds on my credit card without providing me what I ordered. Laughable, they offered a 20% off coupon on my next order to make up for my frustration... as if I would ever purchase from these people again. Buyer beware.

My wife bought a projection clock from these folks in Sept. Of last year. It was our 3rd bought from them over the years. I could not get the outside temp to display. I read the instruction and went through the process three times, did a reset to no avail. I had my wife read the instructions to me and double check. We had covered all the bases. I called to get help and was told a tech would call me back. I asked for a time frame so I would not have to wait around and was told they did not have one. When I said that seemed crazy and I did not want to wait around all day, the rep took offense and got very rude. I did get a call from tech support on my voice mail a day or so later. I just didn't bother to call back, but did keep the number. Called today 4 months later and was told they are very difficult to get through to, the rep took my name and number and told me they would call. This rep was very polite and helpful. Tech support called a few hours later. I explained my experience with them and she said to send the item back. She said that will fix the problem. I said I wanted the clock but wanted it to work so that would not fix the problem. She asked if I had done a reset I said yes I had. She said they sell lots of these clocks and no one else has had a problem. Pretty rude and she must be a chain smoker, very raspy and uncomfortable to speak with. So I guess I will send the clock back since I can't seem to get this one to work and their offer is just send it back and that will fix the problem. So... I am guessing I am the problem they want to fix, screw the fact that I bought a clock and would just like it to work correctly. I will not do business with these rude folks again. Shame it was one of my wife's favorite places to shop... but not any more.
Having already purchased a specific item twice from two other stores... before being later informed that the item was on backorder each time... I found the item on Hammacher Schlemmer's site but opted to call Hammacher Schlemmer directly to avoid backorder issues. On 10/26 I was reassured by them that the item was definitely "IN STOCK" and NOT on backorder... and told that I would have the item in 2 weeks! I reconfirmed again in stock and not on backorder... and given reassurance. Done deal... I placed the order feeling reassured. Fast forward 2 weeks... no item... no confirmation email or anything about my order other than being given an order number by phone initially. I call them after the 2 weeks elapsed... and was promptly informed that the item was on fact on back order till mid December... but assured me that I'd have it by Christmas. I was frustrated about being given false information initially... but I needed the item... and would still have it by Christmas. Fast forward now 3 days till Christmas... and still nothing. I call again (now about my 6th call regarding this issue) and was promptly informed that the item will not ship till December 28th after Christmas. I'm fuming! At every phone call with them I've asked to speak to a supervisor to ensure getting accurate information from someone who might actually take the time to investigate the matter... before dashing my hopes again and again. But no... every time of 4 times that I asked to speak to a supervisor to resolve this issue... I was refused and told that "one is not available at the moment". NEVER WILL I EVER ORDER FROM THESE GUYS AGAIN! Christmas is ruined for that one VERY IMPORTANT person that I had found the EXACT right gift for! TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!
I ordered a Side Sleeper's Ergonomc Pillow November 27,2021. I thought the catalogue price of $70 US plus $25 US for a cover to fit it was exorbitant enough but then exchange, shipping, taxes and duty literally doubled the price. On December 15 I phoned HS to ask when it would be delivered and was told it already had been delivered to my community mailbox. I checked and it wasn't there so called back and said as much. I kept checking for it over the next few days and then called back requesting a tracking number which I was given reluctantly. Canada Post informed me that this number was incorrect. I called HS again and was given a different tracking number, this time I was told that my parcel had been "delayed" and was still in transit. A parcel finally arrived at my local post office Dec 23 by which time I had left town to spend Christmas with my family. I picked it up upon my return Dec 29 but its turned out to be a parcel of men's clothing intended for a Dr Garrity in Markham Ontario... and I am a woman living in coastal British Columbia! I called HS once again and cancelled my original order requesting a refund, I was told it would be credited back to my Visa within 5 to 7 business days. I was sent a shipping label to download and attach to the parcel I had received; I did this and returned the parcel to my local postal outlet although of course I had no obligation to do so. After 9 business days I phoned HS once again to inquire about my refund and was asked if I had a tracking number for the parcel I had sent back! I said it wasn't my parcel and I hadn't been given one. I was then told I would have to wait 21 days before I would receive my refund as if receiving it were somehow contingent upon Dr Garrity's parcel arriving back at HS beforehand! This makes no sense and has certainly convinced me never to order anything from Hammacher Schlemmer again.

I get checks every month totaling 90-100$ from Hammacher Rewards, it is an awesome service, super easy to use and my budget is already crazy. Yes, i know the returns take forever, and when something breaks - yes, the help should be WAY better, yes I have had terrible experiences too and YES they have customer service issues and most of all supervisor issues, (like their supervisors totally suck)- but all in all - there is no store out there that has a lifetime satisfaction. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS, BECAUSE THEY DONT. When I had surgery and could no longer use my heated shoulder massager, they said just return it! But my son can use it, and it is washable I found out... I am very patient with my 2 month credit (actually my last return was credited crazy fast, they must have listened to you). Hammacher is my favorite store by far and my budget is nuts. I have decided to use my Hammacher Rewards checks to save up for the robot vacuum that I have wanted from H&S for 6 years. Yes i have a 200$ robot vacuum now, but I have wanted the H&S one for a very long time. I am attaching some of my Hammacher Rewards checks ((97.29,97.06,99.80,51.30 (probably didn't enter them all that month), I have gotten a lot more, just make a habit of entering them right away (because i didn't the first year and was a little annoyed, but that was my own fault). My plan was to only use the rewards for 1 month (Christmas time, for free H&S shipping) but the Rewards was so valuable, i am now a member for life... just gotta keep up with the receipts and dont let that slide. Its easy, but its a smart way to make a dollar stretch. 5% back from practically everywhere you already shop Ace, Costco, Walmart and a million other places, I already have my 2% Costco cash back card and I see another place where I can get 5% back too - just have not figured that one out yet - when i do - that will be 12% back for a little work, which helps me stretch my $$. Thank you H&S - yes - you do need to get your customer service team in gear - please spank your supervisors - not once has a supervisor every called me back, oops, one time they did, but they were stupid and didn't help, a very very nice customer service lady Jessica Ray found my archived receipt, the customer service reps had created like 8 accounts for me, misspelled my street address and the receipt was archived. Jessica Ray should be the supervisor's supervisor, she should train all of your customer service reps because a lot of them are clueless. We hate the scripts, we just want customer service that knows how to get the job done well. And a supervisor should not be like pushing an elephant (but the supervisor was dumb and clueless anyway) Get your customer service team ironed out and fixed - but all in all i am a loyal customer for life. Very happy my last return did not take 2 months. Please promote Jessica Ray to train everyone there and I promise your reviews will be better.
I BOUGHT A 75 FOOT STAINLESS STEEL HOSE FOR $99.95 PLUS $16.95 FOR SHIPPING IN 2019. ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS I BOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE IT HAD A LIFETIME WARRANTY. THIS WAS THE SECOND HOSE I BOUGHT AND THE SECOND ONE I HAD TO RETURN BECAUSE IT DEVELOPED A LEAK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOSE. I DID GET A PREPAID SHIPPING LABEL AND IT WAS RECEIVED BY THEM ON 2/18. CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE TWICE AND NOW WAS JUST TOLD THAT THEY WERE WORKING ON JANUARY RETURNS AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN MY ORDER WOULD BE RESHIPPED. I THINK I WILL JUST DEAL WITH AMAZON IN THE FUTURE. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND RESHIP ITEMS IN A TIMELY MANNER.
