I purchased a robotic vacuum specifically for picking up pet hair and it shipped quick and works perfectly. After that I purchased the robotic mop. The company has been around since 1848. The catalog is now America's longest running, since Sears folded it's catalog operation. Three stars instead of four because the items are pricey, but everything you buy comes with a lifetime guarantee.
They automatically sign you up for a rewards program when purchasing online. Not only did my product never arrive they have charged me $45 over the last 3 months for their reward program. Beware, there was a class action lawsuit that they paid $475,000 to settle in 2022. Looks like they are back at it.
No one there makes advertsed wages. They don't tell you all the times they send employees home early per year. It greatly reduces their annual wage. During peak season Nov.-Dec. They do get overtime but it is mandatory. Warehouse employees make so little, many have secondary jobs. Management of warehouse is done by the worst micromanager I have ever seen. He is obsessed with firing people and hiring someone at a lower rate. All the top bosses have left due to him directly. Good supervisors with impeccable records. Under this Management Hammacher Schlemmer has had more complaints about staff than ever before.

Purchased a pair of "Fasciitis Boots" at $90 with no brand details. When they arrived, they were Vionic boots available elsewhere in the same style and color at $20-30 less. Guess they keep the brand names secret so people cant compare prices... As if the jacked up pricing wasn't bad enough, the customer is required to pay for returns AND in addition, the original shipping cost is deducted from your refund! What a SCAM. Will never do business with them again.
I placed an order over 3 weeks ago but never received an e-mail acknowledging the order. When I tried to locate my order on their website nothing was posted. I had to call to find out that the order was accepted and get the number of my order. And it still has not been shipped. THey also offered free shipping because of the amount of my order but I was charged over $17 for shipping. Called back and was informed that the way to get 'free shipping' was to wait until I received my item then send in a receipt where they will refund me the cost of shipping. This company is not worth doing business with again. Been over 3 weeks and the item I've ordered still has not shipped.
I purchased a Holiday inflatable for 400.00 on 11/12/22. The site said it was in stock. I have been calling the Customer service and they keep saying it is sitting in the warehouse waiting to be shipped. I just called again this morning and the guy said it is out of stock and I will not be receiving it this year. This company is horrible. Last year I didn't receive the inflatable until 12/17 and it broke 2 days later. What a rip off. I will never purchase from this company again.

I called AMEX to alert them to potential fraud and they looked at my account and said this company has charged my card this amount every month on the same day for at least the one year they could look back. OMG! I never even purchased anything from this company! Now I have to research previous years to see how long they have been padding their pockets illegally. Terrible company!

I am giving it one star because that's the minimum. I recently purchased an ottoman for my wife and when it didn't come in a reasonable time I went online and saw that it had been delivered. I called customer service and was told that the item had been delivered to another address and that I had entered that address in the order. The address was completely different than mine in another part of town that I had never heard of. There was no way that I entered that address in the order, I know where I live. I order hundreds of items on line every year and have never had anything like this happen before. I believe there must have been some kind of computer glitch on their end or a hack. The customer service rep said there was nothing he could do about it because I entered the wrong address and that was it! I paid for something I did not receive. I will never purchase another item from Hammecher again

I ordered 3 of these globes for xmas presents, on behalf of my 90 yr old mother, at at cost of approx $148 cdn each. The quality of these items was deplorable. These were the type of items that look like you can get from the Dollar Store. I would guess that if you foumd it at a garage sale, the seller would be happy to get $4. I don't know at the profit margin was for Hammacher Schlemmer, but I am guessing it was 98%. Never again will I buy from this company. BUYER BEWARE!
I've been buying from Hammacher for 20 years. Today, they refused to honor their lifetime guarantee on a broken product (their policy is totally unreasonable). In addition, they refused to honor the $25 discount which was promoted on the front page of the catalogue I received in the mail 2 days ago. No manager was available to take my call. Shipping costs to Canada are prohibitively high. I went on Amazon and found similar products, for better prices, with no shipping costs. Amazon has better selection, better pricing and wayyy better customer service. Plus, Amazon honors their word and values their clients. After 20 years, I will never ever buy from Hammacher again and will never recommend them to anyone. Hammacher has gone down the toilet. Such a shame.
Item arrives with no plug so it cant be tried or used. I call return. Call a week later and told not received yet and could take up to 6 WEEKS to receive a exchange! It took less then a week to get the order, so whats up? Im going to disput charge as no one answers in customer service on hold 15 min. Spare your sanity DONT BUY HERE
"Don't shop here. One order will sign you up for "rewards program" and charge you $14.95 monthly. I placed an order Oct. 2021, then cancelled the order. However, they signed me up for their "rewards" program. They sent me ONE email which went to my SPAM so I never knew. I went to pay my CC and noticed $14.95 charge. I looked back and they have been charging me for 9 months. I contacted them but they ignored my request for refund. This site is a scam! I File with BBB and FTC.gov if this happens to you. They will not refund your money. It's a scam that they have set up with a different website, different email and different PO box in another state from they main website!"

I ordered "The Musical Plush Caterpillar" for my 2-year-old grandson and it was a BIG HIT!
It was worth every penny. It plays "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and the the ABCs song. Plus it has the entire scale from middle C to high C in the segments of this colorful soft caterpillar with a pleasant smiling face. The child insisted on sleeping with it. His parents simply turn off the battery component and say the caterpillar is sleepy now when naptime or bedtime comes.
The 6-month-old is eyeing it already!:)

Ordered a Christmas present before Thanksgiving. Was guaranteed a shipping date on my backordered item of 12/11, but the item is still sitting in a warehouse somewhere unshipped on 12/15. In 3 phone calls I've had 3 different lies about where the item is. First it was being packaged, second it was in transit (but they didn't have a tracking number) and third it was back in the warehouse. All you get is "I'm sorry" or "I understand." Those phrases don't get our daughter her Christmas present. Will likely never order from them again.
I ordered an item which was never shipped to me. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that the item is on backorder until mid-June. The order was placed in mid-April, but Hammacher Schlemmer did not have the professionalism to notify me of any delay. I am very disappointed in this company.

I purchased the skiing Penguin for my yard. I ordered early so it would be here in time for Christmas decorating. The product lasted 2 days. I called and asked for a replacement. They arenout of stock so I asked for the LED train instead since it is of equal value. They charged me $50 extra dollars because it wasn't the original item I ordered. On what planet does this makes sense. I can't order the original item, you're out of it. So, since your product failed and you are out of replacements, I have to pay you $60 extra dollars? Yhis is the worst customer service. I will be going back to birddog lighting. If anybody is reading this, stay clear of this company. Learn through me...I can send you to somebody better.

I ordered an expensive product on January 4th and at first they told me that I would get the product 5-7 days later. When it did not arrive, I am the one who had to call and find out why. They proceeded to inform me that the product was back-ordered and would not ship January 31st. Guess what, It didn't. So,, now it is March 7th and still no product. So, I called again, as I heard nothing from their end. Now, they are telling me that it is supposed to arrive at their warehouse today and will then ship.
This company is completely void in the communication department. So, If you place an order with them, I suggest that you ask whether they even have the product you ordered and if so, when will you get it. Maybe you can even get it in writing, but I doubt it, as I only received one email, which was the confirmation on the order.
I ordered a present for my grandson (who lives out of state), The Massaging Backpack ( item *******). It is described as "having a built in 5,000 mAh battery. Further info is provided about the how the "built in battery" charges. It arrived without the battery. The owner's manual that came when the backpack was delivered states, "Massaging backpack DOES Not come with rechargable battery pack". This company clearly demonstrates their fraudulent business practice by this false advertising and this certainly explains why there is no place to review products on their website.
I would display the info from the website, the proof of purchase, and the info from the owner's manual but I am a grandmother in my 80s and I don't have the computer skills to do so. However, I do believe this to be fraudulent advertising.

One of the four chairs I ordered was broken. Instead of replacing it, I was asked to pack up and return all four to FedEx. To do so, I would need to rent a truck and act as a delivery service. I am unable to do so. Nor did they provide any rational explanation as to why I would need to return three perfectly good chairs to receive three perfectly good chairs, plus one. I was very dissatisfied with the service and the response to questions about ridiculous shipping fees. Never did get the primary item, but they charged me ~$30 s/h for the bag that went with the primary item even tho the primary item was delayed so often it would have been useless, and was finally canceled.
I placed my first online order but my shipping address was different than my billing address. The company sent my package to the wrong address (1000 miles away) and said nothing can be done unless whoever gets the package is honest enough to send it back. THEN, they charged my card without my permission for a duplicate order and STILL sent the duplicate to the wrong address! I had to lock my card so no additional changes could go through and dispute the changes with my bank. In short, if you want to throw money away and deal with subpar customer service, you hit the jackpot here baby. No need to go to Vegas!

Was $199.95 NOW $99.95 is a dream-come-true for a condo renter never knows if the landlord might sell. I am VERY picky, and this table, with its blue cushions, is beyond perfect. First, you do not have to assemble. It comes flat in a box, you open it, lock it in place, and "voila," you have affordable, classy protected front porch outdoor seating. I can finally sit on the front porch with my coffee and watch the clouds. Does it get any better than that for a senior citizen? (aka Baby Boomer, but not a rich one)
Wish I would have read the reviews prior to ordering. Stay away is the best advice. Ordered a Christmas gift in November & it still hasnt arrived a few days prior to Christmas. When I call to inquire- their customer service is aweful & no one gives answers. This is Scam company in my opinion.
The Christmas Tree - outdoor with digital LEDs that provide multi-color and pattern displays - was listed in Hammacher Schlemmer's latest catalog. I ordered it and it arrived in a large box. The items inside were loose and not properly packed. The instructions were basically useless, and led to hours of trial and error to get it up properly. The design for this $300 high end tree was lacking and made assembly a challenge. Once lit, I had to admit it performed as expected. But that lasted for about 10 minutes when I noticed that several strings of lights started to short out on their own. I tried to unplug the tree to restart the lights but to no avail. Only 3 strands of the strings of LEDs change color, the rest are constantly white. I called Hammacher Schlemmer and decided to send the tree back a get a refund. Inconvenient doesn't begin to describe my disappointment. H-S has begun to go downhill. I've had several recent purchases that have not met expectations. I will never purchase another item from H-S and asked to make sure I no longer receive their catalogs.
