Free shipping and MUCH faster delivery than other companies I checked. And while I haven't needed to return anything, the fact that they don't charge "restocking fees" is appreciated (make note, Wayfair!)
Ordered ceramic bird bath. Packed lousy and arrived broken into pieces. Ordered a large purchase. Shipping date vague then said shipped. Never got it. Emailed. Said oh the shipping people lost the order, really? Did say they are crediting my money but in the meantime they had my money for like three weeks. Would never order again no matter how nice they appear to be. Surprising they are in business as it appears I'm not the only one with shipping woes.
I have unsubscribed over 20 times and they keep sending stuff every day. Never again with this company. They constantly ignore my requests.
Tip for consumers:
Once you order something from them, they send stuff to your email at least twice a day. I have tried to unsubscribe and even received a reply that they will not do it anymore. I guess I just need to block them.

We purchased a dining room table in early December to celebrate Christmas with the entire family around. We were assured delivery by Christmas. On December 19th, EFW left an automated message that the delivery would occur between 1-5pm on December 21st. I took off from work and waited. At 8pm, I called EFW and were told the local freight delivery runs behind. I call daily between the 21st and 24th. Each time EFW tried to reach the local delivery and no one answered the phone or email. Christmas came and went with no dining room table. Our family christmas (my uncles's last, btw) was spent around folding tables. I continued to call daily and same thing, the delivery does not answer EFW. I called Hayneedle, was told they would get this resolved. More days passed. Its now January 3rd, we've now had Christmas and New Years without the table to eat at as a family. I am furious and do not know if this will EVER arrive. I am never ever ever ordering from this company again and making sure everyone I know and all of my social media connections hear about this horrific experience.
THIS IS AN AWFUL DEAL, I ONLY PURC. B/C I THOUGHT THAT IT CAME W/ THE CHAIRS (AS IT SHOWS IN THE PICTURE) BUT AFTER ALREADY PAYING FOR IT, AND IT BEING IN TRANSIT SOMETHING TOLD ME TO JUST CHECK AGAIN TO BE SURE. AND VERY SMALL UNDER FEATURES IT TELLS YOU TABLE ONLY. WELL APPARANTELY THE COMPANY WANTS YOU TO PAY $50 TO SIP BACK TO THEM AND THEN THEY MINUS THE SHIPPING FROM REFUND. READ THE REVIEWS, IVE HEARD THEY ARE SCAMMERS. WISH I WOULDVE BEEN MORE CAREFUL. I JUST TRUSTED WALMART, AND I DIDNT PAY TO SEND BACK B/C ALOT OF REVIEWS SHOW PPL SENDING BACK FOR REFUND AND NOT BEING REFUNDED, THEY HAVE NO CONTACT # ANYWHERE ONLINE.(SERIOUSLY) SO I DIDNT WANT TO RISK NOT BEING REFUNDED. THIS SHOULDVE BEEN $100 AT MOST... NOT $160 WHICH IS WHAT IT COMES UP TO WITH SHIPPING. THE CHAIRS ARE MORE THAN $50 IM SOO PISSED! BUYER BEWARE
I had ordered $1400 worth of outdoor furniture on Memorial Day and was still waiting for it on June 30th (more than two weeks later than the estimated deliver date at the time of purchase). I received half of the patio furniture on July 1. Then I spend about 2 hours online and then on the phone between Hayneedle, Associated Global Systems (AGS, the distributor), and the local delivery company trying to track down the other half of the shipment. Hayneedle and AGS said the local delivery company had the other half of the shipment. The local delivery company said they had nothing more for delivery to our home address. It is Saturday, and I have been told that I must wait until Monday to hear back from the local delivery company (who says they don't have it). The AGS staff was particularly reluctant to help and kept telling me the local delivery company was "Closed" (even though they were delivering and I was able to reach them on the phone multiple times). In addition to this frustration, I will have to take more time off work so that I can be home to sign for this second shipment. The initial delay in the delivery from Hayneedle, the hassle to try to track down this package between AGS and the local delivery company, and the multiple days I had to take time away from work to receive my purchased items was ridiculous. I will not be ordering from Hayneedle again.
Hayneedle is the worst company that has ever existed. I'm going to make it very brief but beware DON'T EVER EVER EVER BUY FROM THEM. I purchased yesterday 8 items, as a first time user, and the the amount totalled to $2209. My debit card was charged for $2209 and I thought that's it. This morning I wake up and I start seeing charges on my account for 3 of those items again but this as 3 separate charges. I called hayneedle customer service and I asked them what is going on. So this is where they explained to me that first they hold $2209 (which came out of my account already the day before) and as each item gets shipped I am charged for that item and they release the money that they took yesterday with 4 business days, but they only release the money for items that got shipped. So pretty much in order for me to buy from them I would have needed in my account $4418, luckily I have the money so I didn't go in overdraft but this is the most ridiculous policy that I have ever seen. I buy online all the time and this is the first time that something like this happened to me. WORST COMPANY IN THE WORLD, I WANT PEOPLE TO BE AWARE ABOUT THIS POLICY. I KNOW I AM NEVER GOING TO BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. I WILL POST MY REVIEW ON EVERY POSSIBLE WEBSITE AFFILIATED WITH HAYNEEDLE. SCREW THEM ALL!
AJ we are not able to locate an order under your name. Please check with your financial institution on how they handle payment processing like authorization, authorization release process and funds transfer to a merchant.
I was looking for a pair of Gators sunglasses wich i found in Amazon through the marketplace, seller was Plumstruck, i place my order and was supossed yo be delivered in a little more thah a week. Nothing happens until i get a mail from Amazon saying that the seller fail to process it in the appropiate timeframe Happens twice to me so i don't know how Amazon can advertise such a lousy company, i send an e mail to the seller asking uf they were going ti delyver the sunglasses, instead they refer me to they sister company Hayneedle for the same sunglasses, but after reading the reviews for that company y decided not to but anything from them either False advertisement us they speciallity
Unlike those who have posted caustic comments about Hayneedle, my experience with that merchant has been superb. When an item I ordered turned out to have a defect, Hayneedle's customer service department (which was very easy to contact by telephone) moved quickly to solve the problem. The rep was polite, professional and very helpful. I got no negative attitude at all. It was a very pleasant experience that left me feeling that Hayneedle, unlike too many businesses these days, truly wants to provide good service to its customers. I wound up returning the patio umbrella that I had ordered because it had a couple of broken ribs. Hayneedle promptly gave me a full refund along with a label to allow for free return shipping. I reordered the same item because I really liked it. The quality seemed top flight and I was convinced that Hayneedle is a class act.
I have enountered scam merchants on the Internet so I know that they indeed exist. But based on my experience, Hayneedle is not one of them. On the contrary, this company provides fine merchandise at a good price and its customer service is excellent. My advice to all who read consumer reviews from places such as this is to decide for yourself. As long as you use a credit card, you can always put a transaction in dispute if something goes wrong. Better yet, use Paypal, which provides even more protection. In any event, if you buy something from Hayneedle you will be able to determine whether my experience with that company is the exception or the rule. I'm pretty sure it was not at all atypical. It's just that satisfied customers don't speak out nearly as much as uhappy ones do.
Honestly I have never had so much trouble in dealing with a company before I had the unfortunate experience to order from Hayneedle. I wish I had written down the name of every person that I spoke with during the dozens of times I've called customer service, but naively I'd thought my problem would be solved with "one (more) phone call."
To make a very long story short, we ordered a greenhouse. It arrived in pieces—tremendous assembly process that took days to sort out parts/pieces & finally put together (and was not described as such online). The packaging was terrible & were 80-100lbs each (3 boxes) delivered by FedEx Ground. The doors, which were packed between layers of metal poles, arrived broken. I called the company, waited on hold & was transferred to several different people. The only solution apparently was to send out an entire new greenhouse (all three boxes), which didn't make sense. So far I've received 4 different shipments and the cheap plastic corner connector in the door is always broken. I can't even replace it myself because the thing has "one way" spike-things that won't allow me to remove it from within the metal.
I have sent several emails and have yet to receive more than an auto-reply response. Several people have promised to call back about this or that detail, and have not.
Furthermore, the credit card was charged again without authorization. I received an email about this, days after the charge. The situation has been ongoing since May 23rd, and it is now mid-August. I cannot even begin to convey the frustration I am feeling not only with the broken pieces that continue to arrive, but most of all with the customer service representatives that do not seem to care. They do not even attempt to provide new solutions. I was even asked rudely, "Well how would YOU like this to be solved?" I was told they would ship with new packaging, different carriers, and yet the boxes are still flimsy cardboard and shipped with FedEx Ground, and are still torn up when each delivery arrives. NEVER AGAIN.
I would give zero stars if possible. This company is a huge ripoff. We bought a canopy bed and paid an extra $150 for their "white glove delivery." The company that was supposed to deliver the bedframe had a "truck breakdown" so they didn't show up until 8:30PM when their normal window was (1pm-5pm) upon arrival, the company unboxed and wished us well putting it together... we were like "uhh no that's what we paid you for." we then find out that the "white glove delivery' that we paid extra for only includes a set up on things with "no tools." AS the representative points out, that it is explained in bullet points under more delivery info which you have to knowingly click on. It is not clearly stated on the website under delivery options. Why say they will build something that takes "no tools" as a perk? As the representative told me..."oh, they only do things that take no tools like putting a mirror on a table." Are you kidding me? How are you a furniture store if you don't put things together? Stay away from this company, they have no customer service skills. They are a joke and will argue with you regarding wording on a website instead of actually helping to resolve the issue.
We apologize for any inconvenience your delivery has caused you. Complete product assembly is not part of our White Glove delivery services. The delivery personnel are not trained in furniture assembly nor do they have the necessary tools. Our White Glove delivery service is described on our site, stating:
White Glove Delivery provides everything you could want and more when it comes to convenience. In addition to unloading, hauling, and placing the item in your room of choice, additional services such as unboxing, packaging removal, and limited item setup* are included as well.
When shopping for American made furniture, the website provides furniture mostly made in China. Good thing we checked before ordering.
We carry millions of products from many well known manufacturer, we do try to highlight products that are made in the USA.
I first came in contact with this company through Amazon when I ordered a Finley Black Corner Desk with an optional Hutch. (THE HUTCH IS SUPPOSE TO COME WITH IT!) However due to the negligence on the seller's end, I did not receive the whole product and it most definitely was not as described online. MAJOR FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I proceeded to contact the seller only to find out that it was their mistake, however, THE COMPANY could not send the hutch they shorted me. I laughed for a long time at their message, I have never felt so ripped off. I felt like I had no other option as I couldn't even take apart the terribly constructed desk (again not good quality furniture) to send it back. So I accepted a measly 20% back even though I paid 173+ for literally a plain black desk. That's not even good quality. ALL I WANTED WAS THE DANG HUTCH. That's all. So now I will most likely cut my 173+ loss and take it as a learning experience, most likely toss the desk in the garbage this week. The bottom drawer on it doesn't even fully pull out.
Take my advice and run the other way if you see this company name. Terrible customer service, false advertisement, but prompt delivery... the one thing they have going for them.
I ordered a Keter Tall Storage Cabinet from Hayneedle on March 1st. The
Web site showed the order in stock and I received an email with the
Order number and an arrival delivery date of Arrives by 03-13-2019.
March 13th came and went and on March 14th, I contacted Hayneedle via
Their chat window. The agent checked and said the order had not even
Shipped from the supplier. I asked for the order to be cancelled and I
Was told a cancellation would be submitted to the supplier and I would
Have to wait for the supplier to "approve" the cancellation but it would
Take 72 hours to do this. Also, my payment would be held for up to 4
Days. I feel lied to by Hayneedle and given the run around on how they
Are handling my order. If they can't deliver an item, they collected the
Money so they should refund the money. The cancellation should be a
No-brainer guarantee rather than we will ask for a cancellation and see
What happens. I will NEVER shop this vendor again and I urge anyone else
To look for items from a different seller.
UPDATE: March 19,2019 - I have purchased a similar item from a different seller. It HAS been shipped and is due to arrive on March 22, something Hayneedle couldn't do. I urge shoppers to look elsewhere if you want to know if and when your purchase will really arrive.
Thank you again for talking to us and thank you for your input. We sincerely apologize for this situation. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
This company is miss leading and will rip you off. Stay away. You will loose money. They will not take it back.
I ordered a dining set from Hayneedle. I should have known when the address was incorrect on my package that this was only the start of bigger issues. Once Hayneedle worked with FedEx to add my apartment number to the box, I was shocked when I received it. I'm not even sure you would call the packaging a box. It was very tattered and worn cardboard. Of course upon opening the package, the dining table was cracked in multiple places. Since I had already spoken to Hayneedle regarding the shipping debacle, I called right back to let them know the table was broken and sent images via email. They let me know that the supplier would be shipping a replacement tabletop and gave me a FedEx tracking number to track it. Over a week later, the supplier had still never even sent the tabletop to FedEx. I contacted a few times to inquire about the status and ask Hayneedle to contact the supplier to get my item sent out. Hayneedle gave me the run around and said to wait two more business days before they would refund me if the item wasn't set. The tracking finally updated, and the package was out for delivery today. Well guess what? Hayneedle forgot to give the supplier my apartment number AGAIN! FOR THE SECOND TIME! It is Saturday and Hayneedle customer service is closed until Monday morning. If I ever do get the table top, I probably won't even be surprised if the second table top. In fact, I am expecting that to be the case. This has been a stressful and completely horrible experience. To spend hundreds of dollars on something and to feel like you are getting scammed is the absolute worst. I wish I would have looked up reviews on Trustpilot before purchasing from this retailer. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM! You will definitely regret your decision.
Absolutely horrible service I order a computer desk that came with half of the pieces missing and these guys were not willing to do anything about it
Bought cabinets that came damaged, they wont pick up to return this is crazy, I CAN SHIP BACK AT 55 LBS EACH AND BRING MYSELF, NOT GOOD COMPANY NOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
HN promptly, professionally and completely corrected an unfortunate issue to my full satisfaction. I could not be more pleased how this was handled.
It was a pleasure working with you. Thank you for the update.
Every indication i have from recent transaction is that this site is an order taker and is not fulfilling the orders themselves. This means limited control of delivery and accountability for issues of damage and quality. Sales taxes are collected across many states. I attempted to cancel a large order placed on Sunday in less than 24 hours and was told they give 24-48 hours to their vendors to respond. Order was shipped and i got stuffed as customer. I am furious. They sure can take your money and forward the order fast but claim they are unable to stop the transaction. That is nonsense and indicates a troublesome lack of control. I absolutely will not use this source again and will recommend against its use to anyone who asks. Stick with direct sellers and avoid this source. Their business model is simply not customer centric and better, cheaper and more cooperative alternatives are available.
So bummed to have received this desk chair that had a mark on the seat that clearly someone had attempted to clean before shipping to my client. Because my client put this box in her garage and went on vacation when she returned and discovered the stain it was 6 days past the 30-day return.
Hayneedle didn't have a replacement so she is stuck with either a dirty chair or a credit. Because Hayneedle cannot supply a replacement this is where I feel they should show that customer service they boast about and refund my client since she clearly has to go put new money out for a desk chair. Nobody would want to do this. What a waste.
Customer service rep Cassandra was so sweet and probably should give her supervisor a refresher course in how to treat customers and be a little flexible when you can't come through with the product. We didn't order a dirty chair and although I fully recognize and respect that you must have return policies I also know that when you can't deliver what was purchased you shouldn't stick it to the customer. As a designer, I will no longer be feeding Hayneedle any of my client orders, something I did on every project. Between my client and me we both tried to speak to the manager 3 times and he wouldn't even speak to us. Bad move, that's partly what you are there for Mr. Supervisor.
So, word of mouth happens now. Letting all my designer colleagues, and clients know- we are a pretty large group. In an age where there are so many options, and with Hayneedle being one of the smaller ones, it was a dumb move and one I can only imagine the founders, Mark, Doug, and Julie would probably want to be handled differently. All this over a cheap $300 chair.
I placed an order for a bed on 11/20/15 and received a conformation and a ship date. Hayneedle also place a pending hold on my account for $664. On 12/01/15, I received an email advising me the bed was not available because it was discontinued by the manufacturer (although it was listed as available on there website) and that they cancelled the order and did not charge my debit care. However, they allowed the pending charge to process and I was charged. When I spoke with the Corporate Escalation Manager she said it could not have processed since her system (order system, not accounting system) showed the order as cancelled. On my request she sent a Merchants Release to my bank( but not in time for the bank to stop payment) but did not stop the transaction on the Hayneedle side and so the payment was processed. The Corp Escalation Manager said she tried to call accounting to verify but at 3:30 PM Central Time they did not answer and she suggested they often go home early! In summary, after I had been assured the order and payment was stopped, Hayneedle charged me for an item they did not have and could not obtain and informed me that it was impossible that I was charged and they had no way to refund an order cancelled by them. When I insisted, I obtained a commitment that she would check with accounting in the morning. No apology for taking my money under false pretenses, causing me to miss other CyberMonday sales or making me spend a day trying to resolve the issue. My bank is processing a merchant dispute that will take 6 days to process. My recommendation is to avoid ordering from this company even if their prices seem better than other online sites. It is not worth the aggravation. There are other online retailers who actually stock what they advertise, charge your account when the item ships, and are responsive to consumers.
As an attorney, I am constantly advising clients to research companies prior to entering business transactions. Once again, I failed to heed my own advice.
On December 3,2016, I ordered a desk and hutch from Hayneedle. Their webpage indicated a 12/20/16 delivery date which would allow for Christmas delays and get here for the gift.
On 12/20/16, I called and was informed there were delays and it would be there on 12/27/16.
On 12/27/16, I called and the customer service representative put me on hold for 20 minutes while she tracked the items down with the shipper.
Apologies were provided and I was informed she had talked to the agent who again promised delivery on 12/29/16.
On 12/30/16, I called Hayneedle and was told I should contact Lodesto, their shipper. Imagine my surprise when I was told that the hutch was in state but that they could not find the desk. It seems that on 12/27/16, the date I was told that Hayneedle had spoken with the agent, they put out a tracer on the desk check in North Carolina. I am in Michigan.
When I called Hayneedle back, they again put me on hold for another 20 minutes to call and confirm what I had just told them.
Their solution was to do nothing. They could not explain where the desk was. They could not advise when it might arrive. In fact, they claimed they had to call the manufacturer to see if it was even shipped two weeks earlier.
It is unfortunate when these issues develop. What is most disconcerting is the attitude taken by customer service. No solutions. No suggestions. When I advised I wished to cancel the entire order, Tara could not wait to quickly respond that a refund would take 7-10 days at least. This would have been comical if not so disturbing. Perhaps if Hayneedle had been as quick to warn the public that there might be 7-10 days delay in shipping or billing, one would accept their deficiencies.
What adds insult to the injury is the fact that I cannot get off of Hayneedle's marketing email list now.
That said, if you plan on making an expensive purchase and don't mind being given excuses, or even worse having your emails ignored, by all means use Hayneedle.
Too bad I didn't take my own advice.
Happy New Year!
Deskless in Michigan
Horrible products, horrible customer service, just plain horrible overall. Please read their reviews before purchasing anything rom these dirtbags
I wish I would have read this before my purchase from Hayneedle. I purchased a desk/loft/bed combo in mid-November. I was contacted about a week later via e-mail that they were canceling my order because they could not fulfill it. I called and confirmed this and purchased this item elsewhere. About another week later I received an e-mail that my order was shipped and my credit card was charged $1,200. I called them and they stated they were sorry and they would stop the shipment and credit back my card. Another week later I received a call from the freight company stating they wanted me to call back to arrange delivery. I called HayNeedle again and again they said they were sorry and I did not need to call the freight company they would credit back my card and take care of this. Still with no credit back on my card I disputed the item on my credit card in December. Hayneedle responded and stated that I never returned the item and it was delivered to my home which was not true. I then provided documentation to my credit card company of the circumstances. I contacted HayNeedle again and they stated the Warehouse received the item back from the freight company but forgot to enter it into the computer. She said she fixed it and now in January I should receive a credit back to my card. There is still no credit back to my card and I was told I need to drop the case with the credit card company before they will give me a credit back. I will not do that. I am still in dispute over this item and it is late January!
Update: This was finally resolved in mid-March by default because HayNeedle never disputed the second notice from my credit card company. My credit card company provided all them all the documentation I gave them and they choose to never respond therefore allowing me to win my case. All this was very time consuming! I would never use them again!
Ordered a writing desk was here super fast great packaging at a great price will definatly order again!
Hello Becky, So glad that you had a wonderful experience with our company and look forward to "wowing" you again! Thank you for sharing your positive shopping experience.
I'll start off with the packing and quality of their items. I received a dining table with the box dented, and unsurprising damage to the table itself. It wasn't just a chip off the paint, it was a chops off the wood!
I contact customer service regarding the damage. I was reassured I would receive a FULL refund, since the fault was on Hayneedle's end. Moreover, the chairs I had ordered to accompany the damaged table would no longer be needed, so the representative reassured me the chairs would be canceled and my card would not be charged.
Disappointingly, my card was indeed charged for the chairs and it was shipped after all. It gets WORSE.
They receive my return of the table, however, did not issue a FULL refund as promised. They claim to have withheld my reward points accumulated. But I also returned the chairs which I used the reward points on, hence forfeiting my reward points. Yet a full refund remains to be unissued. Moreover, the representatives who reassured me of a "Full Refund" failed to disclose any information that any amount would be deducted from my "full refund." I'm not going to hold my breath for a full refund on the chairs which they also reassured a full refund for, but you bet I will be taking these matters to my credit card company.
Not only does Hayneedle fall short on delivering quality in products, but they also lack customer service. Surely in the mishap of "miscommunication" they could offer a remedy, but failed to even make the effort. As a long time customer, I will no longer be purchasing anything else from them in the future. Perhaps my absence will not impact their profit logistics, but I hope that my review will make a difference to those who are considering on doing business with them. Heed my warning and save yourself the frustration, stress, and utter disappointment in this deceptive company.
