Free shipping and MUCH faster delivery than other companies I checked. And while I haven't needed to return anything, the fact that they don't charge "restocking fees" is appreciated (make note, Wayfair!)
Ordered ceramic bird bath. Packed lousy and arrived broken into pieces. Ordered a large purchase. Shipping date vague then said shipped. Never got it. Emailed. Said oh the shipping people lost the order, really? Did say they are crediting my money but in the meantime they had my money for like three weeks. Would never order again no matter how nice they appear to be. Surprising they are in business as it appears I'm not the only one with shipping woes.
Ordered a Trampoline from Amazon.com. I found out that i had actually ordered the item from plumstruck.com. The item did arrive quickly when i began to assebly the Trampoline i discorvered what i actually had was a TV stand. So now on my daughters birthday i have to deal with the disapointment of not having the present that she really wanted. I now realize to really research even the stuff i order on Amazon.com. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING RELATED TO THIS SITE
AS OTHERS HERE HAVE SAID: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HAYNEEDLE! Also be careful not to use any of their websites with different names like barstools.com. I ordered 2 barstools and paid with paypal. They arrived damaged (rust stains on white seats) box was in bad shape as if water damaged (didn't have opportunity to reject delivery as fedex left at my door). I phoned cust. Service, they profusely apologized, refunded my paypal account, charged my C. C. for a new set of chairs, but asked me to put damaged chairs in next box which would be in better shape to ship. 2nd shipment was just like the first! Emailed same cust. Service guy, he couldn't believe it! Again apologized, said he would personally contact warehouse and have them open box to check for damage with the third try(I know, dumb me for trying again). They charged my C. C. again, without refunding for 2nd try! Third set arrives and you guessed it, same rust damage and it was obvious no one had attempted to open box as the tape had not been disturbed. What a joke of a company. It was more than a month after they received their crap stools back that I finally got my refund and that was after hounding them the whole time. They wasted a ton of my time and I got nothing for it! Don't waste yours, I don't care how good the deal looks!
I placed an order for 4 bar stools in November 2011. The end of November I called to find out the status of the order and a few days later received a tracking number and an arrival date. I kept checking my tracking number only to get a message saying "No information for the following shipment..." After a week and no item, I called and they stated it had not been shipped. The customer service rep stated she would check into it and call me back. No call back.
In December I again called to find the status and had the same experience, and was told they will check into it and call me back. Again no call back. I called again (third time) and was told I would receive a call back regarding the status of the order. Again no call back. Another tracking number and arrival date was received and they finally arrived the end of December, only two months to receive this order.
Now in March I receive correspondence from a collection agency for the amount due. Hayneedle had my credit card number when the order was placed, they have my name, address, phone number and e-mail. No contact by Hayneedle was ever made. Hayneedle stated they tried contacting me several times however after checking my calls received for the past 90 days, no call ever came through from Hayneedle.
Their customer service department is lacking people skills and their supervisors have an attitude problem. NO I DEFINITELY WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN OR REFER THEM.
I ordered several glasses of the Artland Inc. Iris HiBall glasses - set of 4. They were shipped in accurate time and very well packed with very good padding. I love the colors!
Worst website ever! Stay Away!
I never even received my item from here, after so many problems right from the day I purchased my item I wshould have known and just cancelled my order. They told me my credit card wasn't working (but my bank said the payment went through because they tried 3 times). They told me my item was being shipped right away, then they told me my item was out of stock, then they told me they had to cancel my old order and place a new order, only to find out that the girl forgot to select international shipping (you know the $61 I paid in shipping) and never refunded it. I had to call to get my shipping refunded and was told that I would just have to pay FedEx the border fees when my package arrives, then I was sent an email saying "here's your tracking number" only the email did not contain a tracking number. Hayneedle told me my order was sent directly to the manufacturer because they ran out of stock, so I waited only to find out that the manufacturer does not ship to Canada... But if I cancel my hayneedle order and reorder through the manufacturer they will ship it to me... really? That does not makes sense to me since you just told me they don't ship to Canada!
It took me an entire week to find out that they don't ship to Canada, that's ridiculous!
Unhappy Customer
Tip for consumers:
STAY AWAY!!!! Terrible customer service and no one cares!!
I made order ************** with white glove delivery. It arrived 3/15 and 1) the shipping company informed me they do not perform white glove delivery. After I struggled to move 2 150+ pound each boxes that are 6 foot by 3 foot by 2 foot into my house, I found they were both damaged. One with a fork lift fork all the way through the top. Hayneedle refunded my delivery and offered courtesy white glove delivery as a make-up so I ordered again before the refund, order **************. Now I am out 2x the cost and have no units. So I wait for the 2nd order and it shows up again with no white glove delivery. Does Hayneedle even talk to the delivery companies? And this order arrives with even more damaged and I refuse the order on the truck. So now I have paid twice and received nothing. And for the 1st order, because i used Paypal I need to wait 7-10 days from when HN confirms they received the unit back. And today's order, because I used my bank account I get to wait 3-5 days. I cannot order a 3rd time out of pocket so now I have to wait to get my money back to make an order. Not acceptable. Social media is next. Hayneedle should do something to make this right with me. Oh, and its my birthday so thanks Hayneedle for making it a memorable day.
I have shopped at Wayfair and Overstock (great experience) and also did get some nice bar stools from Hayneedle with no problem... i decided to order a mirror. The worst experience ever. They said they were unable to get a hold of me which was complete BS becasue i ordered from them in the past. Then preceded to tell me that they had to ship it back to the fullfillment center and then charged me freight and a restocking fee. So I had to pay for 1/2 of a mirror that I will never see. Then when I told them I still wanted the mirror and would pay 1/2 the freight fee it was out of stock. In the process the emails i received from their customer service were pretty much to bad for you. I asked them to call me because I could not understand how they could charge me for 1/2 of a mirror that i was never going to get. No phone call... I had to call them and then sit on hold for 45 minutes. That is when I was told that they would split the difference of the freight fee. So I am getting only 1/2 of the cost of the mirror refunded. I would recommend not purchasing anything from Hayneedle EVER... I know I will never shop there again I would rather pay more else where then go through this again! You know it is bad when the customer service people only give you there first name and there last name initial... I wouldn't give my full name either if I gave that kind of service! BEWARE!
I ordered a loft bed, and the steps were damaged. I called while the delivery men were on site and the rep told me I can accept the undamaged pieces and they would send replacement steps. I called back a few days later to confirm delivery date and was told I would need to take delivery of the entire order, which means a whole bunch of additional pieces that I don't need and weigh over 350 pounds. I could not get them to understand that I only want the steps replaced and don't have the means to discard of all the extra pieces, especially since they would all be brought up to our 2nd story bedroom. When I suggested just cancelling the order to get a refund, they said it was my job to take apart the part of the loft bed that was already in the room and pack it up ourselves for return. I explained that I wouldn't have taken delivery of the bed if I knew I couldn't just get a replacement for the steps. They couldn't care less that one of their agents misled me. Just said "sorry, that's how it is". They did nothing to try and help the situation or contact the delivery company or manufacturer. No common sense, and totally rude. Will never shop there again.
Tried to order a gift certificate for a family member for Christmas. Placed an order in early December that was inexplicably canceled. I thought it was possible I mis-entered my payment info or made some mistake while entering my billing/shipping info so I figured it was fluke and tried again a week later, this time double and triple checking that all of my information was entered correctly.
My order was canceled without explanation AGAIN. I chatted with a customer service rep immediately this time trying to get an explanation of what happened. He said he would look into it and I would receive a follow up email the next day. I never received any follow up, so I sent an email to customer service a few days later, again asking for an explanation and if it was even worthwhile for me to try to continue to purchase something from hayneedle. The response I got was that my payment could not be verified and that I need to contact my bank. In the week+ that I've been dealing with hayneedle's customer service BS, I've used the exact same credit card to make purchases from multiple other online retailers, so I can pretty much guarantee that the card is not the problem. But it's fine, if hayneedle isn't even going to attempt to try to solve problems with THEIR OWN SYSTEM for customers, I'm happy to take my business somewhere with functional systems and decent customer service.
Since Walmart bought them out, they've become a drop shipper and your orders will get cancelled last minute frequently! Do not buy from them.
Purchased a hammock and it was the worst quality I ever saw!
Loose ends, thin rope, big gaps and holes were should be woven.
Just horrible!
Placed an order on 9/23, no tracking till 10/1--then it turned out to be a bogus track #--customer service was rude. What a joke!
They scam people by looking for ways to make them pay for their own shipping label. I pretty much got a $15 refund.
This business has one of the worst customer-service attitudes I have ever encountered. An interminable wait on the phone. I'm still "on hold".
Just ordered $600 worth of merchandise. I have a question that I called into customer service. 30 minute wait times -- totally unacceptable
I ordered two pairs of bedroom slippers--the exact size and style. One I ordered from Plumstuck, and the other from another company because Plumstruck did not have the second color I wanted.
They promised free returns. WRONG! When the item arrived, the size was completely off. (I have ordered these exact same slippers from other companies in the past, in the exact same size, and they fit like a glove. So, it seems the manufacturer changed their sizing since the last time I ordered.)
Plumstruck said my reason for return (size was improper; not true to size) was a "personal preference" reason, so they were charging me full shipping plus an extra admin fee. Oddly, the slippers I ordered from the other company also suffered from the same ill-sizing issue. Yet that company, WITHOUT ANY HASSLES, game me a full refund, and IMMEDIATELY gave me a return shipping label to print. Plumbstruck made me jump through three hoops of filling out forms, back-and-forth emails, and general BS. NEVER again will I order anything from this company. The lie about their return policy, and then they make the customer jump through unnecessary hoops to get a refund. I should have looked at the poor ratings for this supplier before I ordered from them.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid at all costs.
I purchased in hayneedle for an offer in Amex (30$ for 150$ purchase). I puchased on 5/19 and offer ended on 5/21. To avoid paying for offere Hayneedle split to payment on purpose and posted on different dates (5/19,5/20 & 5/22). Since it is not a single payment post (even though purchased in one order), Amex/Hayneedle declined to return 30$ offer amount.
HAYNEEDLE SPLITED the payment ON PURPOSE to CHEAT the customers.
I ordered catchers gear and they sent me a pink bat. It's been 24 hours and no response. Serious regret.
I searched for barstools on the web and came to Hayneedle. Before ordering from them, I saw the previous reviews and was frightened that I would have a very bad experience. Therefore, I called customer service before ordering and got the name a direct extension of the rep. (who had been there for 5 years), so I could call her back in case anything went wrong. When I called, she put me on hold and confirmed with the actual supplier that the barstools that I wanted were actually in stock (and in the country) even though the website also said they were in stock.
I did a coupon search on the web and nabbed another 15% off the order, ordered the stools (which were very heavy), and THEY SHOWED UP WITHIN 6 DAYS. Reasonably easy assembly and they were AWESOME. (Other retail stores said the furniture would take 6 to 8 weeks.)
I want to thank the previous reviewers, b/c I think they legitimately had a horrid experience with these guys, and their warnings motivated me to take the right precautions to make sure my experience was excellent.
Overall, I think when Hayneedle is good, it is very good, but when it's bad it's awful.
We ordered two pieces of furniture from Hayneedle, a TV stand and a bookshelf for about $450.00. Now we have assembled furniture we've purchased before and know that occasionally a screw or piece of hardware may not be in the box. My son and I spent 3 and a half hours assembling the stand, and near the very end, were trying to put the second glass door on, but it wouldn't fit the opening that it was meant to go in. So, here we have this TV stand with one glass door hanging open.
I thought, ok, just call Hayneedle and they will replace the door. Nope! The people at "customer service" actually suggested that our options were to accept a $45 credit (10%) OR... take it apart (YES -TAKE IT APART), REPACKAGE it and send it back and we can have a refund! WTH? Seriously? This item weighs 150lbs, and took 3 and a half hours for us to put together. Sure! I'll just go spend several more hours to disassemble it, a few more to repackage it and then have someone come and TRY to put it on a truck to send it back, without developing several hernias.
Great way to treat your customers, Hayneedle.
I will NEVER shop there again! The same items can be found on Amazon for the same price and Amazon has always rectified any problem with the customer's best interest in mind, and a view towards keeping the customers they have.
Living rm furniture titled "hand rubbed leather" is really bonded but buried in description! Beware! They won't make it right after you've paid for it and find out the truth when it starts falling apart! They're heartless and could care less that you were deceived and won't buy there again! Unless you are a furniture expert you won't even think or know to look further into a leather furniture description to see if the leather really means "bonded". I just thought my furniture was leather because that's what it said. But when it started peeling I googled how to tell if my leather furniture is real. That's when I found out that some leather furniture is bonded. That means that it is very thin leather bonded or glued somehow to fabric underneath it. And overtime it can begin to peel unlike genuine leather furniture which does not do that. I bought my furniture four years ago thinking that it was going to last me a very long time. My brother has purchased genuine leather furniture and it does not peel and lasts at least 10 years. His never peeled. So I contacted Hayneedle customer service and after telling them my experience they defended themselves by saying that it says bonded in the description. So they are covered because it told the truth somewhere in the listing but not in the title. So for someone like me who is not a furniture expert and went by the title of the product and didn't know to read in the description and even look for the word bonded I was just a victim of a sneaky listing in the end. They did not want to help me in any way. Terrible customer service. The customer was not right. Hayneedle was right in a very wrong way. I will not support their business again.
Tip for consumers:
They’re sneaky about listings. Be sure to read in the description and if there’s a word you’re not familiar with look it up.

I purchased 2 Linon Countertop Height stools in black successfully IN January of this year. I wanted to purchase 2 additional ones. I went to the confirmation email from my previous order and clicked on the link. It brought me to the Hayneedle site with a picture of the same stool in black. When I ordered 2 of them, I got a confirmation email which indicated they were being shipped in red. I immediately notified customer service and they said it was too late. That they had been shipped already and there was no way to cancel the order. After receiving them I took the steps to attempt to return them and it was then that I found out that they charge for returns. Basically I would get half of my purchase price back... and furthermore the black version was not only NOT in stock but also almost twice the price! OUTRAGEOUS! This NOT LIKE AMAZON TRUST ME. LET THE BUYER BEWARE! I will NEVER shop on Hayneedle again!
Updated to be fair to Hayneedle...
After placing this bed review online I was contacted by Hayneedle and was actually issued a complete refund of all my money. They told me to keep the merchandise as well. This was a classy move and actually way more than I expected. Their lesson learned should be to treat the customer right the first time around.
Yes, I have a question about PlumStruck: Why on earth does a reputable company like Amazon affiliate with them?
End of comment.
Bad service and no communication they lack in caring whither or not you get ALL the items you ordered
Tip for consumers:
It's 3rd party and their customer service is poor
