I received a cake from my children for Father's Day 2024. When I received the package, I did not know what the contents were of the inside box. I received it on Friday, Jun 14th. I opened the outer box on Friday, but I waited to open the box inside the box until Father's Day June 16th, 2024 as the card attached to the inside box said Happy Father's Day. There was nothing on the shipping box, the inside box, or the card attached to the inside box, that you have to report any damage to them within 24 hours of receiving it. I was the recipient of the cake, which when I received it, I did not know it was a cake, so I did not know that I had to check the contents for damage. The company will not stand behind their product. I certainly would not recommend Hazelton's to anyone. A card on the package saying to check for and report any damage within 24 hours of receipt would have resolved this issue, now they will not stand behind their damaged product. Very poor support on their part in my opinion.

I spent over $120 on a gift, and it was the wrong product delivered along with a deflated small balloon I paid $8 for! When I wrote to them they told me, "you accepted the terms and condition when you purchased, so there's nothing we can do". What a horrible experience for the amount you pay for a gift.

Ordered but cut and paste address with one number short. The package wasn't delivered and when I asked them to change the address, they told me to contact the courier company. It was closed all weekend. They also said I would have to pickup the package from the courier company. It was a birthday present for a 75 woman who requires oxygen and cannot drive a car. They also said I could not cancel and they would not give a refund, even though I didn't even ask for one. I only wanted the address corrected and shipped. They refused to help at all. Absolutely worst customer service I received in years. Hope you have no problems with your order if you do choose to work with them.

This business is a total scam. I ordered a double chocolate pecan pie, they delivered a generic pumpkin pie you can get at a supermarket for five dollars.

When I contacted customer service, they said in their terms of service when I purchased the product that I agreed to their terms of service and that they can substitute for something else. This is a scam, false advertising and fraudulent business practice.

Do not do business with this company because you will get something different than what you ordered.

Ordered well in advance of Christmas to arrive before Christmas. The website was stunning and I was impressed with so much selection. I'm embarrassed I never googled them to learn more about their business model. Their customer service was unresponsive when it never showed up. When it finally did show up in January, nearly everything was substituted. I saw all the negative press they received, and I don't understand how they aren't just shut down. What can consumers do?

Tip for consumers:
For future online purchases, either rely on a referral from a trusted source, or do a little web searching to ensure legitimate service offering. Reviews on product’s own website can be entirely falsified.

When ordering a gift basket, the delivery date is pretty important.

The gift basket still hasn't been delivered and all the customer service reps will say is to continue checking the tracking info.

Find a different company to order from. Any other gift basket company will do better.

Don't expect anything to be delivered, it won't be, but they'll tell you it was and give you the run around. Don't expect proper communication from them either, you have to do all the chasing. Charge back filed.

I ordered a Mickey Mouse jelly bean dispenser and they delivered a plain jellybean dispenser instead. They did not inform me they were switching the items. The company would not refund my money or send the real thing. Customer service was unavailable by phone and didn't return my messages. They were slow to respond my emails. I am extremely disappointed and will never shop at Hazeltons again.

Ordered chocolate covered strawberries as a gift to a friend and they were delivered rotten, with mold and smelling like garbage. They claimed it wasn't their fault because we didn't pay same day shipping (which shouldn't be customers responsibility when they already charge so much for regular shipping) when instead having a business means they should have the means to delivered perishable items cold and fresh. Embarrassing company.

Don't waste your money with these guys, and judging from all the other complaints I'm reading, I'm not the only one who had a terrible experience with Hazelton's. I ordered a gift basket with several upgrades to shipped to my grandchildren for Christmas. I got written confirmation that it would be delivered by December 23rd. The gift didn't show up until January 4th, twelve days after it was supposed to arrive. The box was battered and some of the contents broken. When I found out what happened, I contacted customer service, sent pictures, and asked them to replace the damaged goods. They refused. In fact, they are unwilling to do anything at all to remedy the situation. Nothing. Not only am I disappointed and angry, I'm also stunned ---- stunned that a small business competing for customers in the highly competitive online marketplace wouldn't do everything in their power to retain a paying customer.
I can't begin to calculate how much repeat business they walked away from because of how they dealt with this situation. I do all of my gift buying online to the tune of several thousands of dollars a year however, I will never spend another nickel with Hazelton's. This was the worst customer experience I've ever had.

Never received basket I sent for my sister birthday. Package was damaged in route and sent back to company. Called my sister she never received basket. Checked tracking to find out it was sent back to company. They never notified me. I call leave message, email them. Explain everything. Get Email back saying they can resend the damaged item from my basket. I never received ANY items from my basket. They're incompetent, unprofessional and you can't speak to anyone on the phone. Avoid this disgraceful company

They use a cheap delivery service called Lasership who didn't even deliver the basket. Customer service at Hazelton's would not refund or resend or take responsibility for the awful shipping company they used. I submitted requests through the shipping company and Hazelton's and both blamed each other and told me to contact each other for assistance. They even blame porch pirates in their response. Very unhelpful and a waste of $100.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it. They may not even deliver and will definitely not take pictures or require a signature for delivery, so there's no proof.

My family ordered a 50th birthday gift basket to arrive on the day of my birthday. I was away the week before and arrived home Saturday night, five days before my birthday. It was a 90-degree heatwave. There was a box out front of my house with wine, champagne, flowers, meat, and cheese, it had been there for several days in the heat. The food was ruined, flowers were slimy and I suspect wine and champagne ruined. The note said to me from me, my name and address were the sender and the recipient. I had no idea who it was from. I subsequently discovered my family in Ireland had sent the basket for my 50th. The company was contacted several times to tell them that the contents were ruined, that they delivered before the date requested, they did not contact me per the order. They offered my family a 50% refund, refused to replace or refund. Truly disgraceful company

Tip for consumers:
That they deliver crap products. Don't deliver per customer requests. Don't include notes from the sender. Don't contact the customer prior to delivery and leave food out in hot weather. Terrible customer service.

I ordered a gift basket that I custom made. It was to be in the chest they have displayed on the website. It came on a cutting board, missing items and items I did not order. I sent them a picture but the response I got was Customer service said I agreed to substitutions at the time I ordered. This is a big difference from what I ordered. Considering the chest alone I was charged 32.00 for. I spent over 300 at this business. I will never order from this business again and reporting them to the bbb. This was a gift for someone's special day and it was totally ruined and disappointing

Terrible international service! They charged me upwards of $220USD then an additional $22USD for a "Custom Gourmet Order" that was filled at the destination country like a child had made selections in a local strip mall convenience store! I paid for a chocolate cake, cheeses, dips, bread and tapenade and received celo bags full of instant coffee, and supermarket cookies and chocolate bars. To know this company is getting away with cheating people out of so much money and hiding behind their "Terms and Conditions" is heartbreaking! Shame on you #Hazeltongiftbaskets!

Save your money. This company is an epic failure!

I ordered a bouquet of flowers- fragrant freesia and a bottle of French Veuve Clicquot Rose.
A bouquet of few carnations, roses and few other plants was delivered -not one freesia while the quality of the bouquet was very poor; a bottle of Bollinger instead of the rose champagne was also delivered. The company makes substitutions, does not contact the customer - and the substitutions are NOT comparable to what it is ordered. I would have not approved either of them for what I wanted delivered. I do not recommend this company, I will not purchase ever from them again. They do not deserve my business and I do not think their substitution practices are fair.I attached the pics of the flowers what I ordered and what was actually received. The company makes substitutions, does not contact the customer - and the substitutions are NOT comparable to what it is ordered. I would have not approved either of them for what I wanted delivered. I do not recommend this company, I will not purchase ever from them again. They do not deserve my business.

The basket I ordered was sent as a surpirse anniversary gift, but it arrived 4 days late. It turned out to be a total disappointment and extremely embarrassing! The items in the basket were of poor quality and not what I ordered. I paid an upcharge for Moet & Chandon champagne, but the basket contained Andre. The chocolate covered strawberries were smashed and the chocolate melted. The company did promise (I have not yet received it) a partial refund. Although I am grateful for that, it does not take away from the fact that what was intended to be a nice quality gift turned out to be an embarrassment! This gift basket was not worth the high price that I paid for it. I will NOT be a repeat customer at Hazelton GIft Baskets and highly recommend staying away from this company!

The shipping information should have been clearer.

As others have stated, I wish I had seen these reviews prior to ordering a basket for a good luck for someone taking the bar exam. The website is very well done - so it all looks legit -- don't fall for it. I paid for priority delivery (ordered on the 20th for delivery on the 24th). Nothing was delivered on the 24th - tracking info showed delivery of the 30th - I attempted to reach someone one their end, since the gift was being delivered to a hotel guest who would be long gone by the 30th. You never get a person - everything is via email - and the emails are autogenerated w/ BS responses. I finally demanded a refund of the basket and they responded it "left their facility on time" therefore they cannot refund or replace...total scam!

Absolute worst gift basket ever received. Not a single item that was selected during customization was received, nor was it in the style basket selected. The SUBSTITUTED items were sub par. When you select shower gel, you should not have to "settle" for bubble bath that you have NO USE FOR. The cheeses selected were selected for a reason (working around food allergies), and you should never "have to accept" Brie cheese as a substitute that was not refrigerated correctly as it was received soupy. Not one item was correct in the order. Not one item was acceptable or to a decent standard (literally seemed like product from the dollar store…only they cost A LOT more). When the company was contacted they basically said too bad. You got what you got and there are no exchanges or refunds. Let me reiterate, this was a company that claims they will customize a basket for you, only you get whatever cheap, unwanted product they substitute, and then tell you that you are stuck. This should never be acceptable. This is atrocious customer service. It would be best to order baskets from a company that cares about ethics and customer satisfaction/service. Absolutely disappointed with the cheap products, the false advertising about it being a customized basket company, and the absolutely horrible way this company dealt with delivery of an expensive customized basket filled with NOTHING that was actually ordered!

Do not think you will get anything you select for a customized basket. They will tell you they might have to make a substitution, but the whole basket was “substituted “

I ordered balloons and cupcakes for my son's birthday to be delivered in 2 BUSINESS days on a Wednesday...UPS tried to deliver the FOLLOWING TUESDAY.(way past 2 business days).my son lives in an apartment complex, saw UPS pull in and just turn around and leave (I had tracking on UPS and texted my son when I saw that UPS was close to his apartment complex)...made no attempt to find his apt., then marked the delivery undeliverable... HAZELTON REFUSES TO REFUND OUR MONEY EVEN THOUGH WE NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING PERIOD!...I will dispute this through my bank and hopefully recover my $50!

Placed an order. It said local delivery available next day if placed by 2 pm. By the time my order was complete, it was 2:08 pm. I had requested next day delivery and stated that delivery needed to be coordinated with my son or his roommate. When they hadn't delivered by 4 pm, I reached out and inquired about delivery. I was told delivery would be delayed by 1 day because my order was placed 8 minutes past their deadline. I asked to cancel and was told that wasn't an option because the order "had shipped." (Spoiler alert: it had not yet shipped.) Much later the next day, I finally received tracking info which said it would be delivered that day. I again reached out and said, "my son is out of town. If this delivery is not coordinated with his roommate (whose name and number was provided with the order), it's likely to be stolen." They responded that there were "no refunds for deliveries allegedly stolen." Their courier did in fact drop the delivery off at the door, did not coordinate delivery, and did not get a signature for delivery of alcohol, as required by federal law. We were lucky that the roommate found the package before it was stolen, but I will absolutely not patronize this business again.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I ordered this cake as a Christmas Gift. The picture following is how it arrived. I would think if you have delivery of a cake on your gift page there would be a way to send it
Other that just putting the cake in a box and expecting it to arrive whole. This is an absolute disgrace and sent without any forethought. I would like compensation for this. Also I want a proper gift sent in it's place.

We have received the images provided, upon thorough review of which we have decided that the condition in which the items arrived does not warrant for a full refund.

We understand that the way in which the products were jostled in transit may not have allowed for the most ideal presentation/appearance upon delivery of the order but based on the images contents of the items themselves were indeed protected by their exterior packaging, which the recipient can still use/consume if they wish to do so.

I arrange a birthday package delivery to my son for March 13. I will admit that I messed up on the delivery choice BUT, aside from that, I had ordered a Shiraz and they substituted a different red (not a Shiraz) in place of what I ordered and paid for. My son said it tasted awful and tasted like the cheapest red they could find. I also ordered cupcakes. The cupcakes arrived, tossed around in the box and icing everywhere.
When I complained, I was initially told I would get a refund and then told that I wouldn't. Their argument was that they had the right to substitute. The wine I chose is common (Yellow Tail Shiraz) and they chose a cheaper red from the Yellow Tail line. I complained that they should have substituted at least a different brand of Shiraz.
As for the cupcakes, their argument was they don't recommend sending perishables (then why offer that option?) and if so, to choose express delivery. How express delivery would change how the delivery company handled the package is beyond me.
They also said that while the cupcakes were tossed about, they were still in the box and edible! This is such a ludicrous and insulting comment when you are sending a surprise birthday package. Presentation matters!
These people stopped responding to me and never provided any form of compensation. I wasted over $90.00 for 4 damaged cupcakes, a bottle of cheap wine and a balloon. NEVER AGAIN. Be WARNED!

That I would not be consulted on the substitution and that damages goods would not be refunded (or the poor quality of the substituted wine).

This company is a scam! STAY AWAY! I should have read all the reviews before riding with them! I ordered two different gifts, NONE of them looked like the photos, NONE! Also, they have their comments deactivated on their IG for a reason, STAY AWAY!

I paid ALOT of money and preselected all the items for my Christmas basket for my parents. When they received it - both bottles of alcohol were wrong and the meat/pate was missing. I contacted them and sent pictures. I requested that they resend the correct alcohol and the missing pate/meat. They refused advising that substitutions happen and that they are not liable for any different items. But I PAID extra to preselect the items - otherwise what's the point of allowing people to select? They sent my parents Chardonnay (which they hate) and Spiced Rum (which they hate even more). And the meat/pate missing. They offered $35.99 back after my 3 attempts to get this worked out. That amount does not even come close to the amount I paid for those two bottles that I did not select and they want me to pay for. I requested either they send my parents the correct two bottles and missing pate/meat (or refund me the value of those particular items). They denied BOTH these options. Needless to say, I am now disputing the entire basket and will NEVER order through them again. And will be sharing this horrible experience with others.
